The Archaeologist/Classicist/Ancient Historian version of ‘I’ve never seen Star Wars’ is definitely telling people that I’ve never seen:
Troy
Gladiator (and Gladiator II, for that matter)
300
Alexander (even though one of my professors worked on the historical side of it)
The Mummy (I know, I’m disappointed at myself for this one too.)
They can’t believe it. Love Indiana Jones though.

Practicing my Latin prononciation (to be ready for a reading for class) on the tram and getting looks from people like, yes, I am calling upon some ancient being whose mere existence will dwarf your scope of perception and you will find yourself on your knees; overtaken by an urge to either fight or submit. Mind your own business. Damn.

There are two things classicists will NEVER forget even if they get dementia:
ο η το
του της του
το τη το
τον την το
AND THE GREAT ‘fero fers tuli latum ferre’
I have nobody to talk about this online i feel ancient

How to feel academia: Classical
recite an ancient language, reading classical poem in its language with hot tea, re-reading The Secret History, museum dates, old cloaks and checkered pants, friend dinners and analysing philosophy under cigarette moonlights, vintage libraries, gets disappointed when the bookstore doesn’t have classical texts, candlelit midnights, serious face soft heart, writing Latin diary entires, writing poems using Ancient Greek metres and themes, stringing the lyre, taking a history class, roman numeral watch, re-enacting Euripides, musing on classical music

Priestesses holding lanterns
Yeah, I know, Ishtar is a southwestern Asian goddess and pale Nordic women come from northern Europe.
For that matter, the lanterns are ENORMOUS. Maybe they're optimized for being held and she's just started her shift, so she still has a lot of upper body stamina?
The costumes and hair are fabulous! Also, check the artists I referred to. They're not the standard ones I often use in this 'recipe.' They're classicist artists, mainly from the late 19th century.
by Midjourney This is the prompt: The pale Nordic priestess of Ishtar holds the gleaming lantern of eternity in the dark cave of infinity, High Heroic Fantasy, mythical, ethereal, intricate, elaborate, hyper-realism, hyper-detailed, strong expressiveness and emotionality, in the style of Lawrence Alma-Tadema, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Henryk Siemiradzki, Edwin Long, Norman Rockwell, cinematic lighting, visual clarity, 200mm, UHD, 32k, 16k, 8k, 3D shading, Tone Mapping, Ray Tracing Global Illumination, Diffraction Grating, Crystalline, Lumen Reflections, Super-Resolution, gigapixel, color grading, retouch, enhanced, PBR, Blender, V-ray, Procreate, zBrush, Unreal Engine 5, Cinema 4D, ROMM RGB, Adobe After Effects, 3DCG, VFX, SFX, FXAA, SSAO, --ar 2:3 --v 5 --s 750
