hey im still playing an old version of sburb that only has the 14 classes and 12 aspects, and i keep seeing stuff on here abt other ones like the grace class and mist aspect?? i tried to find the changelog but i just cant access it for whatever reason. not interested in updating, just curious about the new classpects!

honestly anyone whos reading this just lay down some classpects you've assigned to characters in fiction that you're especially passionate/confident about! explanations are appreciated but not required 👍

Dude even my Laurance post is slightly outdated bc I had him as a Prospit dreamer when that man is clearly a Derse dreamer. I went on ab his masks and persona and STILL got tricked by the damn guy-

But yessss if you subscribe to the classpect theory that everyone has percentages of every aspect and the aspect that shows up in their god tier is just the most defining one, highest percentile, then life comes in at a good second!!

I have her as space too because the notion of motherhood within the aspect, being expected to bring up and nurture the genesis frog, and therefore the universe, in the same way MCD Aphmau does the entirety of the Diaries universe. But also the themes of loneliness that space players have. Aphmau has a lot of friends but more often than not she end up self-isolating in her feelings, not wanting to burden anyone else. That and space being a fundamental aspect like time, the session is null without it just as diaries is pretty much null without Irene (peep Muse of Space Irene and Lord of Time Shad) (peep further theory on Shadow Knights functioning the same as Grimdark but instead of their aspect being overclocked with void, they’re overclocked with time)

And then the Sylph is of course the meddler. 100% the thing Aphmau is known for is MEDDLING. That’s literally the first thing she did when she got to PD and I love her. But she took one look at that town and said, mmm, not my idea of a perfect village, and immediately starts changing the space around her to fit what she believes is supposed to be the concrete idea of “a good village”. Sylphs like to heal by putting things “where they’re supposed to be” which is exactly what she does with the village, with its people, actually she does it to Malachi too with the simple act of “a child shouldn’t be alone” and taking him with her.

I really like this line in Ouroborista’s Treatise on Classpecting that Sylphs have “a proclivity for or outside-imposed need of ‘being the adult’”. From taking on the lordship, to random child, to other random child, etc., Aphmau always finds herself in the position of taking leadership above her peers. Being the reliable “adult” she needs to be despite all the, uh, Aphmau-ness. Let that woman be free and silly again 2025. But the shift in demeanor from casual Lord to genuine Lord in the end of S1 when Nicole goes missing and they have to prepare for war?

I think Treatise on Classpecting is by far my favorite piece of reference material for classpecting but I also love Dahni Witch of Light’s stuff, and they’ve written a whole post about Space aspects. This one includes a Sylph of Space analysis/overview that I couldn’t summarize better myself, so I highly encourage giving it a read!!

And then, yknow, Prospit dreamer. I was duped by Laurance but this one is UNDENIABLE. That woman dreams in gold.

Gabriel - Maid of Rage, Prospit dreamer

Minos - Sylph of Blood, Derse dreamer

Sisyphus - LORD of Time, Prospit dreamer

(These are my short-ish explanations loosely based on optimisticDuelist and @/ homestuckexamination's classpects analysis + the official homestuck personality test btw, I haven't studied classpect stuff in years tho so I might be very off lmao I'd love to hear opinions)

Gabriel: Maids tend to have a character arc where they realize they aren't meant to serve someone else, but themselves (Like how Gabriel freed himself from the Council), Rage because one of it's main traits is hating a system built on lies and willing to tear it all down preferring anarchy over such lies (Literally Gabriel), Prospit dreamer is uhh mostly just a hunch, it jus feels right, for reference Prospit dreamers tend to live more in the moment and just be themselves and also tend to tidy up their bedroom, while Derse dreamers tend to live in the past, putting up a mask to hide their true self, and having a messy bedroom. So yeah idk Gabriel has Prospit vibes

Minos: Sylphs are selfless creators/makers. Blood is the aspect for someone who is an inspirational leader, whose strength comes from close friends and allies. Derse dreamer... is also a hunch lmao, he'd just look better in the Derse's purple clothes don't you think? He also seems like the type that constantly thinks about the past.

Sisyphus: Lords are Commanders, and it's also one of the most powerful classes (along with it's selfless counterpart, the Muse), the Time aspect is for people who constantly fight agaisnt what fate has in store for them. Prospit dreamer because he lives in the moment being himself, no need to think too much about past failures. Also he'd look terrible in purple clothes lmao.

This probably sounds like a bunch of nonsense to non-homestucks but I hope those who read everything enjoyed it lol, I'd also love to hear other classpects headcanons, I'll try to make more if I can think of it, I tried thinking of one for V1 but I don't think his personality and story arc is all that clear to make one for him.
