Round 2
Daiki Aomine (Kuroko no Basket) vs Shoei Barou (Blue Lock)
Daiki Aomine
Tumblr media
Sport: Basketball
Appearance: short dark blue hair, dark blue eyes, 192 cm (6' 3½"), japanese
Propaganda: Aomine Daiki was the ace player in the prodigious group known as "The Generation of Miracles." This was a group of middle school basketball players who were so unbelievably talented and gifted that they completely dominated all other schools they came across for 3 years straight. Aomine was the first to unlock his "potential," effortlessly scoring baskets and dunks left and right without any opposition. This however, turned out to be a massive burden to him. Aomine, the one who played and loved basketbally more than anyone else, now found himself alone on the court. No one could challenge him. The sport he dedicated himself to lost all meaning. There was no longer any fun to be had. This realization broke Aomine. He went from a smiling, outgoing guy to a more sullen one. His mood completely shifted, and he would remain this way until he could find a worthy rival. Ultimately, Aomine's journey shows that the true fun in sports comes not from winning, but from the competition and fierce battles one can have. To be able to go all out to the best of one's abilities and have fun is the essence of sports.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Shoei Barou
Tumblr media
Sport: Football
Appearance: Long black hair, red eyes, 187 cm, Japanese. In more recent chapters he's literally built like Miguel O'hara.
Propaganda: Blue Lock (the project) aims to create a striker that plays for themselves first and foremost. Scoring goals is the most important thing here and Barou applies to that perfectly. He is arrogant and selfish and only cares about being the protagonist of every game he's in. He calls himself 'King' and so does everyone else. He 'devours' his teammates for the sake of scoring. One time he passed to a guy he had been defeated by in the past and imagined an entire alternate future reality where he was alone in his home drinking and watching that guy score the goal that won him the world cup??? And that motivated him to develop a new play style??????!!!!!??? If I remember correctly he also stole the ball off him. Also the only match that we've seen him cooperate is because his coach literally gave him an entire team to lead without question. He's the best.

The Promise of a Second Chance
Hi!! Here's a story done a million of times, but I wanted to write my version. Happy reading!!!!
You can find it here on a Ao3.
Chapter 1: The Return
Chapter Text
For Kageyama, this Wednesday afternoon was like many others before it. He could be found catching his breath, adjacent to the net, in a particularly intense training session with the Schweiden Alders.
He was always the first to arrive and often the last to leave. Among the trio of coaches, it had become a common joke to bet on the time their star setter would finish the day's practice. Speculation swirled that Kageyama had even slept in the locker room once just to train a little bit more, but nobody knew if it was true or if it was just Kōrai Hoshiumi teasing his teammate, a hobby the small man had picked up since joining the team.
The setter couldn’t stand this little ball of energy. Perhaps it was because he was sensitive, or simply because Hoshiumi reminded him of a former teammate with the same build, who occupied too much space in Kageyama's thoughts, especially today...
His coach blew a whistle, grounding Kageyama once more. They were about to split their team in two for a practice match. This was usually Kageyama's favorite part of the day.
Except today, his heart wasn't in it.
The setter paused for a water break and glanced at his phone again. Nothing. Nothing more than the last messages from his friends. He had reread them at least twenty times today.
Yamaguchi, Yachi, and even Tsukishima had taken the time to wish Hinata a safe journey home in a group chat they all shared. Kageyama didn’t remember participating in it, but he read attentively every word, especially since a redhead had indicated that he was about to board the plane that would bring him back to his homeland.
After two years in Brazil, Hinata Shoyo was finally coming home. The goofball had kept his promise: Hinata was going to come back and beat him, Kageyama knew it.
Soon, Hinata was going to win.
And that was enough to break Kageyama Tobio's unwavering concentration. It's not like he was going to wait for his friend at the airport, or that the ten kilometers that now separated him from his former partner would make a difference compared to the thousands that were there the day before...
But, well, for Kageyama, knowing Hinata Shoyo was in Japan changed everything.
"How are you today, Kageyama? You don't quite seem yourself."
Nicollas Romero's voice reached Kageyama, who looked up abruptly. The setter threw his phone in the bottom of his bag as quickly as if the object had burned his fingertips.
At the same moment, Kageyama felt a firm hand on his right shoulder. He didn't have time to see the gesture Wakatoshi Ushijima made to their wing spiker, but the family man nodded solemnly and joined the others, without casting another glance at Kageyama and his broad teammate. Even Kageyama, at 188 cm tall, seemed frail next to his particularly taciturn fellow player.
Ushijima and Kageyama had naturally developed a peculiar friendship since joining the Adlers. Both men of few words, it felt natural to support each other. They often shared the same hotel room and sat together on the bus without feeling the need to engage in conversation if they didn't want to. Frequently, they stayed back after practice for a few more passes, had breakfast together in the mornings, and even watched a few games together in the evenings to study the strengths and weaknesses of their future opponents.
But never, not once, had the men confided in each other. Kageyama had no idea what could be going on in Ushijima's personal life and the reverse greatly comforted him. Kageyama had always preferred to keep his feelings inside, buried deep, as he had done since childhood. Even though one night, two years ago now, he bitterly regretted it...
So it was quite a surprise to him when he heard his teammate's hoarse voice whisper, "Hinata, he's coming back today, right? I saw his story."
Kageyama's eyes betrayed his surprise. His eyebrows raised. His heart started beating faster. Just hearing the name of his former partner could provoke a physical reaction beyond his control.
Under Ushijima's persistent gaze, Kageyama nodded.
"Aren't you going to pick him up at the airport? You two were so close, you could have asked for time off. I think we're the only ones who haven't done it yet," the former Shiratorizawa Academy player commented discreetly.
"I don't think he would want to see me there."
Kageyama suppressed a grimace, which could easily turn into sobs if he started to dwell on the pain of those words. It was the truth and the reason why he remained seated at practice, even on the day his former best friend was finally coming home.
It was all his fault—the silence, the avoidance, the shame.
Remorse was about to destroy his semblance of self-control that he had managed to project since the beginning of this fateful day. He despised the sensation welling up within him today, as if his guilt had woven roots, spreading and anchoring themselves in his flesh with each breath he took.
It hurt. It hurt so much.
He had dreaded this day since the day Hinata left him to embark on a stupid plane, the day Kageyama had ruined everything. Even now, he could vividly recall the scene as if it had happened only yesterday.
The light from his phone suddenly illuminated the bottom of his bag, and the setter couldn't resist the urge to see who was contacting him, because there was a chance, a slim chance certainly, but a chance...
He groaned when he saw who the message was from. He used to see this sender a lot when he was his vice captain.
Yamaguchi - Best Captain in the Whole World
(His former captain was the one who entered his name in Kageyama's phone)
We're leaving in a few minutes. Hinata should arrive around 5 p.m. You can still join us if you want. I'm sure he'd want you there.
That was the issue at hand. Everyone thought they knew everything about Kageyama and Hinata, and they were wrong. Completely.
Kageyama – Too cool for school
(Again, Yamaguchi’s fault)
Too busy with training. Sorry.
And when Kageyama noticed that his outside hitter was still analyzing him with a strange look, he stood up abruptly, his expression even grimmer than usual.
Ushijima didn’t bother to add anything to the subject; instead, he squeezed his shoulder again before speaking,
"Come on then. The others are waiting for us."
His teammate led him towards the group and continued to cast anxious glances at Kageyama, who did his best to ignore them as best he could.
Soon, this day would end.
And maybe, soon, Kageyama would see Hinata again, after two years of almost complete silence, after a fateful night that had continued to haunt Kageyama's dreams and nightmares.
It was too much.
He sighed, and for the first time since joining the Adlers, the setter apologized and darted for the exit, before practice was over. Amidst the concerned stares of his teammates, he left the gym, opting to confront his pain in solitude, as was his custom.

☆ history.
PARK HYE-WON was born on december 8th, 1996 as the youngest daughter of entertainment industry moguls PARK JUNGHOON and KIM AH-YOUNG. the former is an award winning director and filmmaker, while the latter is a world renowned pop star and actress who began her career in the eighties. hye-won is the youngest sister of PARK DAHYUN and PARK AH-REUM, who are both members of DI-VERSE. from a young age, hye-won had an interest in the entertainment industry, developing a love for singing, dancing, and acting through her family members. she grew up listening to various genres, and eventually found out about bands such as NIRVANA, PARAMORE, LED ZEPPELIN, KISS, and THE PRETTY RECKLESS through her father and the internet.
at the age of 5, hye-won began gymnastics. at the suggestion of her coach, she eventually started competitive and sideline cheerleading in 2005, after her family moved to florida. she also had some acting experience, as she starred in plays and musicals throughout her school years, and had appearances in the tv shows that her family would appear in. in addition to that, hye-won also gained notoriety as a cheerleader, appearing on the cover of AMERICAN CHEERLEADER in 2009 and becoming quite the celebrity after her numerous world championship wins.
hye-won grew up wanting to start a band, inspired by TAYLOR MOMSEN and JOAN JETT, but as she continued dance lessons alongside her sisters, she slowly started to develop an interest in the k-pop industry. when her family moved back to seoul in 2010, hye-won joined a dance academy. three years later, in february 2013, she was cast off the street by YG ENTERTAINMENT.
she would pass auditions, and within hye-won’s first three months as a trainee, she was added to the potential lineup of YG’s new girl group, PINK PUNK. in june, she was introduced on the company’s youtube channel through clips of her dancing to “WHEN I GROW UP” and singing as she played the guitar, as well as through a photo and short profile. she appeared in various CFs afterwards, had cameos in various dramas, and even had vocals on songs by BIGBANG and 2NE1. however, just two months later, hye-won left YG, claiming that she wanted to finish high school in america before anything.
in may 2014, after hye-won’s graduation, she was cast again—this time by JYP ENTERTAINMENT. and, like before, she ended up passing auditions. as a trainee, hye-won would meet and become rather close with future bandmates SEOLHEE, RINA, and XIANGFEI. by may 2015, exactly a year after hye-won began training at JYP, she and seolhee were chosen to appear on the company’s survival show, SIXTEEN. due to her performance of “STILL INTO YOU,” hye-won found herself in the major group from the start. consistently a favored contestant due to her stage presence, skills, personality, and preexisting popularity, she went viral due to her performance during “DO IT AGAIN.” however, despite that, hye-won still failed to make it into the final lineup.
there was some backlash from hye-won’s fanbase, but in january 2016, she appeared again as a contestant on PRODUCE 101. like before, hye-won was popular among viewers, being chosen as the center for “PICK ME” and consistently receiving high rankings. however, halfway through the show, hye-won was accused by anti-fans of exploiting her family’s fame and using their wealth to make it into the industry. as a result, her rankings dipped severely for a moment, placing her in the twenties. despite that, after gaining sympathy from the public and being praised for her performances during “BANG BANG” and “24 HOURS,” hye-won eventually came in 2nd and finally debuted as a member of I.O.I.
following I.O.I’s disbandment in 2017, hye-won returned to JYP. news of a new girl group from the company had been swirling since early 2016, and she had already been apart of the group’s first lineup. it was rumored that the group could debut sometime in 2017, and hye-won’s fanbase hoped that she would be apart of it. turns out, she was, and on february 3rd, after 2 years of training, hye-won debuted as the LEADER and CENTER of SUPERSONIX.

So, the inspos for the au are haikyuu, she's the man, and Ran
*Both Eren and Mikasa are taller, Mikasa is 179 cm and Eren is 188 cm
*The volleyball team in Mikasa’s school gets cut
*I'm still thinking if Mikasa's brother is actually her twin or she makes it up
*Armin, Sasha, and Annie help Mikasa with her super great idea of pretending to be a guy to join another team; I think it would be funnier with Connie but he is 180 cm while Armin is 168 cm
*Eren and Mikasa share a dorm, I'm thinking if it's a high school like the movie or a uni
*Eren does not have a crush on anybody, but develops one on Mikasa after he meets her like her :D
*Mikasa is an outside hitter in her team and Eren plays as opposite hitter, although when playing with the guys I think she would play as setter at first till she gets the chance to prove she can jump
*The coach is Erwin
*Is uncle Levi in this one instead of Mikasa's parents, he casually heard of the game and went not expecting to see Mikasa dressed up as a guy
*There'll be a similar scene to the one in the movie but not in front of everybody, just between them, if you know you know

An Austin Adoption
Tumblr media
It’s been one week since the newest member of our family joined this world. Looking back at this past month feels surreal. It’s true what they say...once you have a child, you forget what life was like before them. The purpose of this blog is to share with family and friends Kent’s journey and development in his first year. One thing is for sure - he is one happy boy! This kid cannot stop smiling. Either he’s exceptionally happy or he is one gassy dude, haha. Let’s go with the former. He’s also remarkably bright! He’s already trying to hold the bottle for himself and is a great self-soother. His diet consists of formula and he is A-ok with it being room temperature. When he does cry, it’s always warranted and is his way of communicating his need. We then quickly run down the list: Does he need a diaper change? Is he hungry? Is he too cold/hot? Is he gassy? Once we identify the issue and take care of it, he’s back to being all smiles.
Tumblr media
It was Thursday, May 18th at 11:37 PM when we received a text from the birth mom that read “And go!” She also told us to drive safe and not speed. This was after our false alarm fiasco on Cinco de Mayo...a story for another time. Let’s just say it involved a full moon, a cyclone of a storm complete with thunder and lightening, torrential downpour so hard the windshield wipers failed their only job, roads flooding, tree branches falling, followed by me puking so hard I popped all of the blood vessels in my face and neck. But this blog isn’t about me, so back to baby Kent. We made our way to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, stopping to buy milk for the birth mom who had requested it for her heartburn. She tried to buy it herself but got impatient with the clerk and yelled at him that she was in active labor then left. We spent the evening and morning with the birth mom in her hospital room. While she was only 2 cm dilated, the doctors proceeded with inducing her, and eventually gave her an epidural. For hours she slept through her contractions. Epidurals are no joke! When she finally did wake up, the painful contractions didn’t last long. The doctor’s scrubbed me up as I was the person in charge of catching the baby and announcing the gender. Rob held the birth mom’s hand and opted to be her coach on the north end of things. The midwife checked her cervix to see if she was ready and I could already see the top of Kent’s head! Just three pushes later, at 1:49 PM on May 19th, he was born! I quickly shouted, “it’s a boy” to the room. A whopping 6 lbs 15 oz and 20″ long. A tiny but long little dude! The whole thing happened so fast that I barely had time to process it all. And just like that, we became parents.
Tumblr media
We spent the next 48 hours in the hospital with Kent by our side. In Texas, the right of revocation for the birth mom is 48 hours. Kent’s birth mom was kind to allow us this bonding time with him which also allowed us to get a crash course from the hospital nurses on his care. We had to wake up every hour to feed him, but eventually he took to the bottle and never looked back. In our 12 years together, I’ve never seen Rob so happy. And he’s a natural! He’s now a pro at diaper changes, feedings, and soothing Kent like he’s been doing it for years. The way he looks at him brings tears to my eyes. Is someone cutting onions? It’s the same unconditional love that I have for Kent.
After my mom died, I lost that level of bonded connectedness that a mother and child share. That all changed the day that Kent came into our lives. Once again the bond is back and I feel it stronger than ever. Not having family, especially my mom, there to be with us was difficult to say the least. One night I called my sister crying in need of support and within hours she hopped on a plane from California to come be there. Kent is so lucky to have an Auntie that would do that for the three of us. Once she arrived, she commented on our hospital room number (222). She shared that this was an angel number and that there were angels by our side. When I looked it up, I learned that it’s the angels’ way of telling you to let go and relinquish control of the situation and to trust the process. It was then I knew that we weren’t alone in that room and that everything was going to be okay. I could feel a strong presence and was certain that my mom, Rob’s dad, and Rob’s grandpa Kent were with us. It brought us another layer of comfort that we so desperately needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before we knew it, it was time to sign the adoption paperwork. After the signing, I felt overwhelmed with emotion and just sobbed. The build up to this had been a bit stressful and hectic to say the least, but once it was all said and done we were over the moon with joy. The hospital took photos of Kent before we were discharged. Shortly after, we buckled our newborn in his carseat and were off to the races. We went back to our friend’s house, where we stayed while in Texas, and spent the rest of the time getting to know our new little one. We had to wait for the state of Texas to process the paperwork before we could get the green light to fly home. In the meantime, we have enjoyed every moment we’ve had with him and we just can’t get enough.
Tumblr media
Kent is so alert and just loves to look at you. When he’s being fed, or just relaxing in your arms, he likes to cross his ankles. He has the cutest little mouth with puffy, adorable lips. He absolutely loathes being cold and when he’s cozy in his swaddle or sitting on the back porch in the humid weather, he is a happy boy. We’ve quickly learned how much laundry a tiny human produces, not to mention the diapers. He’s peed on us several times. It’s like a dang firehose! Sometimes right after we change a poopy diaper, he’ll immediately poop in it again...then we’re on to diaper three in a matter of moments. The first several days were late nights with little to no sleep. Yet, one week in, Kent is already letting mommy and daddy sleep a bit longer. On his three day checkup, the pediatrician here in Texas gave him a clean bill of health! Our favorite thing to do is sit outside as a family, drink coffee, and listen to the birds chirp.
Tumblr media
We gave Kent his first bath back at the house and he handled it like a champ. It’s funny how similar babies and the elderly that require long-term care...you can’t trust a fart and you have to rely on others to feed and sponge bathe you. He got the tiniest little diaper rash, so we’ve been going above and beyond to try to help it heal. Even going to the extent of pulling his butt cheeks apart and blowing air on him to dry. That’s how much we love this kid - enough to blow on his butthole. The things you do for love. I tried to clip his nails when we got home and cut off part of his skin, causing it to bleed a little. He didn’t cry or seem to notice, but I cried and felt horrible! Lucky for me, my sister-in-law called to tell me that parents aren’t perfect and you’re going to make mistakes. This put me at ease because it’s so easy to feel like you’re a bad parent when you do make a mistake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s true what they say - it takes a village. We’ve been so fortunate to have the support of friends and family. Our friends have allowed us to bunk up at their house and use their car this whole month, saving us a ton of money. My stepdad is house sitting and getting it ready for our homecoming. Rob’s parents are always there to talk to when we need them and helping out at home where they can. We’ve had family watch our dogs so we don’t have to worry about them. Other family that has sent us gifts and even dinner one night. It truly does take a village and Kent’s village is massive.
In just four days we will be taking a flight back to Seattle. We can’t wait to get our routine and life started with him there. We fall more in love with him each day and are excited to watch him grow, learn, develop, and progress. He really is our little gentleman. His name is Kent, some call him KJ, I call him bubba or booboo or whatever obnoxious nickname that rolls off my tongue in response to his cuteness. Kent John, you have an exciting life ahead of you little dude. And we couldn’t be happier to be the ones to show you the world.

A writer by the name of Lisa Holst created an article in 1993 stating that “around 8 spiders crawl into your mouth every year whilst you sleep”, but the whole thing was made up to prove that the internet was gullible and doesn’t fact check its sources. It's actually more like 20.

Round 3
Meguru Bachira (Blue Lock) vs Shoei Barou (Blue Lock)
Meguru Bachira
Tumblr media
Sport: Football
Appearance: Black/dark brown hair with yellow under-dye. Yellow eyes. 176 cm. Japanese.
Propaganda: Because soccer is his livelihood!! Ever since he was a kid he was incredibly passionate about it which drove other kids to find him weird and bully him ): He developed an imaginary monster friend who he played against until he found someone who was like his monster in how he plays football <3 Then he ditched his monster for a while until he found a way to reincorporate it in his play style. He's everyone's first favorite character and he's impossible to hate.

Streamline Your Institution: The Power of a Campus Management System
Running a school, college, or university can be complex. From admissions and enrollment to academics, finances, and student life, there's a lot to juggle. That's where a Campus Management System (CMS) comes in.
Tumblr media
What is a Campus Management System?
A Campus Management System is a centralized software solution that integrates various functions critical for educational institutions. Think of it as an all-in-one command center, streamlining operations and fostering a more efficient learning environment.
Benefits of a Campus Management System:
Here's how a CMS can transform your institution:
Enhanced Efficiency: Automating administrative tasks like admissions processing, fee management, and attendance tracking frees up valuable staff time for more strategic initiatives.
Improved Communication: A centralized platform facilitates communication between students, faculty, staff, and parents. Announcements, course materials, and grades can all be accessed in one place, promoting transparency and collaboration.
Data-Driven Decision Making: A CMS generates comprehensive reports on various aspects of campus life. This data empowers administrators to make informed decisions about resource allocation, curriculum development, and student support services.
Streamlined Student Experience: Students can manage their academic life and finances effortlessly through a self-service portal. This includes online registration, course selection, fee payments, and access to grades and transcripts.
Improved Security and Data Management: A CMS ensures the security of sensitive student data by employing robust access controls and data encryption protocols.
Features of a Campus Management System:
Admissions Management: Streamline the application process, manage inquiries, and track student records.
Student Information System (SIS): Maintain comprehensive student profiles, including academic records, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
Learning Management System (LMS): Deliver online courses, manage learning materials, and facilitate online assessments.
Fee Management: Automate fee collection, track payments, and generate invoices.
Library Management: Manage library resources, checkout procedures, and automate inventory control.
Human Resource Management (HRM): Manage payroll, track employee data, and streamline administrative tasks related to staff.
Communication Tools: Enable secure communication between various stakeholders through forums, email, and messaging features.
Reporting and Analytics: Generate comprehensive reports on student performance, enrollment trends, and financial data.
Choosing the Right CMS:
With a diverse range of CMS options available, consider the following factors when making your choice:
Your Institution's Size and Needs: Choose a CMS that scales with your institution's size and caters to its specific needs.
Budget: CMS solutions vary in cost. Determine your budget and find a system that offers the features you need within your financial constraints.
Ease of Use: Ensure the CMS is user-friendly for both administrators and students to navigate efficiently.
Integration Capabilities: Consider if the CMS integrates with existing software used in your institution.
Security: Choose a CMS with robust security measures to protect sensitive student data.
Investing in a Campus Management System is an investment in the future of your institution. By streamlining operations, improving communication, and empowering data-driven decision making, a CMS can create a more efficient and enriching learning environment for all stakeholders.

How to Kick Ball? : The Art of Becoming a Playmaking Midfielder
By Anthony Canger
Introduction and My Audience
This blog is created for anyone that loves the game of soccer, as many supporters know, you don’t have to play to be a fan of the game. There are many different topics to discuss when it comes to the topic of improving at the sport. However, because of my past experiences as a midfielder I will be discussing specifically how to become a better midfielder. The information provided in this blog is designed to help all midfielders. If you are just starting to play the beautiful game or are an experienced player trying to take your game to the next level you will find useful information in this blog.
The role of a midfielder in soccer is one of the most demanding jobs on the soccer field. Midfielders cover a wide range of responsibilities and must be extremely versatile. They are often considered the engine room of the team, responsible for both defending and attacking, linking the defense and the forward line, and controlling the tempo of the game. To excel in this position, a player must possess a wide range of skills, physical endurance, tactical awareness, and mental toughness. This comprehensive guide will provide you with tips and strategies to help you become a better soccer midfielder.
Part 1: Understanding the Role of a Midfielder
The Different Types of Midfielders
Defensive Midfielder (CDM): Plays in front of the back defensive line and is responsible for breaking up attacks and providing passing out of the back.
Central Midfielder (CM): Controls pace of the game and has an even mix of defensive and offensive responsiblities.
Attacking Midfielder (CAM): Plays more forward and is mainly involved in creating goal scoring oppourtounities.
Wide Midfielder/Winger: Plays on the left or right wide ends of the field, responsible for getting forward and trying to contribute offensively by crossing the ball while also helping cover the flanks defensively .
Understanding these roles and their responsibilities is crucial to developing a well-rounded skill set.
Part 2: Technical Skills
There are multiple areas of technical traits a midielfder must master to become the best player that they can be. They are broken down into the three main skills of soccer with the ball; passing, dribbling, and shooting. With a paticular emphasis on traits that top professional midfieldeers exhibit such as receiving the ball under pressure and breaking defensive lines.
Passing
Short Passes: Master the accuracy and timing of short passes to maintain possession and build play.
Long Passes: Develop the ability to switch play and deliver accurate long balls to teammates.
Through Balls and Breaking Lines*: Learn to spot and execute incisive passes that break the opposition’s defensive lines. “The best players can break lines with the ball at their feet… exploiting space and dominating 1v1 in central areas.” (My Personal Football Coach, 1)
Dribbling
Ball Control: Work on close control to maneuver through tight spaces.
Feints and Turns: Practice moves like the Cruyff turn, stepovers, and body feints to beat defenders.
Receiving Under Pressure: Midfielders usually operate in the center of the field resulting in them always being marked by the opposing players. Midfielders must learn the ability to receive the ball when they are being marked. The higher the level of playing the more crucial this skill becomes, “At the highest level of the game you have to be able to receive the ball under pressure.” (My Personal Football Coach, 1)
Shooting
Positioning: Understanding the best positions to take shots from and finding these positions regularly throughout the game
Techniques: Mifielders must master a wide array of shooting techniques to beat the goal keeper. Especially from distance midfielders should learn how to curve, chip, and drive the ball past the goalkeeper into the net.
Part 3: Physical Fitness
Stamina
“Football is a physically demanding sport, with professional players covering up to 11km during the course of a 90-minute match.” (Clark, 1)
Endurance Training: Incorporate long-distance running, interval training, and sprints to build stamina.
Strength
Core Strength: Do exercises like planks, sit-ups, and leg raises to build core stability.
Leg Strength: Squats, lunges, and calf raises help develop the leg muscles essential for powerful shots and long passes.
Agility
Agility Drills: Use ladder drills, cone drills, and shuttle runs to improve agility and quickness.
Balance Exercises: Incorporate balance boards and one-leg stands into your training.
Part 4: Tactical Awareness
Positioning
Tumblr media
(In this image you can see the player in orange scanning over his shoulder to get a bearing on where he will receive pressure from. Mg, Touchline Theory, 7 Oct. 2021, http://touchlinetheory.com/coaching-vision-how-to-turn-scanning-research-into-training-deluxe-edition-as-seen-on-soccer-detail/.)
Off-the-Ball Movement: Learn to make intelligent runs to create space and passing options.
Reading the Game
Anticipation: Develop the ability to anticipate opponents’ moves and intercept passes.
Decision Making: Enhance your decision-making skills under pressure to choose the best options quickly.
Part 5: Mental Toughness
Confidence
Self-Belief: Maintain confidence in your abilities, even when things aren't going your way.
Positive Thinking: Focus on positive outcomes and learn from mistakes.
Concentration
Focus Drills: Engage in exercises that improve concentration, like visualization and mindfulness.
Staying Alert: Stay mentally engaged throughout the game, even during periods of low activity.
Part 6: Tactical Training
Formations and Systems
Understanding Formations: Learn how different formations affect your role and responsibilities.
Adaptability: Be prepared to adjust your playing style based on the team’s tactical setup.
Set Pieces
Defensive Duties: Know your role during defensive set pieces like corners and free kicks.
Attacking Strategies: Practice routines for attacking set pieces to maximize scoring opportunities.
Part 7: Team Play and Communication
Communication
Verbal Communication: Use clear and concise communication to coordinate with teammates.
Non-Verbal Cues: Develop an understanding of body language and gestures to aid communication.
Leadership
Leading by Example: Demonstrate hard work, dedication, and a positive attitude.
Encouraging Teammates: Motivate and support your teammates, especially during challenging moments.
Part 8: Continuous Improvement
Self-Assessment
Reflect on Performances: Regularly analyze your performances to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
Seek Feedback: Actively seek constructive feedback from coaches and teammates.
Setting Goals
Short-Term Goals: Set achievable short-term goals to maintain motivation and track progress.
Long-Term Goals: Have long-term objectives that align with your career aspirations.
Conclusion
Becoming a better soccer midfielder requires a holistic approach that requires a player to break the position down into separate skills and master each one. Technical skills, physical fitness, tactical awareness, mental toughness, and effective communication are all crucial to the midfielder position. By committing to continuous improvement and embracing the diverse demands of the midfield role, you can elevate your game. The journey to becoming an exceptional midfielder is ongoing, and every training session, match, and self-reflection is an opportunity to grow and develop.
