Okay but a sci-fi/futuristic au where at the very tender age of 10 Dustin codes his first ai program (I know, triggering right now, bear with me) presumably to be just an online assistant type thing to keep his mom or his adoptive brother off his back, to text his friends back so they don’t think he died in the middle of a science experiment, and to play his music while he works. To play video games with him since his friends don’t want to as much anymore.
He names it Eddie, because it’s pretty buggy in the beginning and keeps playing this ancient metal band.
Anyways Dustin doesn’t really notice that Eddie’s kind of become a little more than your regular ai assistant when Steve scowls at him and says, “Hey, your computer is being a dick to me.”
When he looks, he realizes Eddie’s chat algorithm has evolved to include personality. So Dustin, being the responsible scientist he is, absolutely helps it evolve more. And swears Steve to secrecy. Steve luckily loves Dustin and doesn’t want him sent to jail.
By the time he’s packing for university, Eddie had cultivated his own developed voice, a sprite for himself to show up at inopportune times, and a near decade-long beef with his brother.
“Dustin! Your robot is being a bitch to me again!”
“Your music sucks Steve-o, that’s not bitching, that’s facts,” Eddie’s voice calls from a near by speaker, sounding deeply pleased with himself.
“He’s not a robot,” Dustin groans for what feels like the millionth time. Yet, he adds internally, however. He is going to school for biomechanics for a reason.
So, of course, being the responsible scientist, Dustin makes an illegal android.
And just to piss Steve off more, he makes Eddie taller than him.
And Eddie, who has become Dustin’s closest friend, is overwhelmed and over joyed. They spend months just hanging out, introducing Eddie to his friends. It’s great. Eddie is so much like a real person that Dustin kind of forgets he’s not.
So of course Eddie reminds him in the worst way.
A few weeks of avoidance and hijinks later finds Dustin in his spare bedroom, hands over his eyes, screeching "please tell me you did not fuck my brother?" followed very quickly by "please tell mE YOU DID NOT FUCK MY ILLEGAL ROBOT."

“What the hell are you still doing here?”
Your eyes never leave the computer screen as Harry’s familiarly snippy question echoes across the empty lab. “Working,” you answer simply.
He snorts as the door falls shut behind him. “It’s two in the fucking morning, I thought you left hours ago.”
“I did. And then I came back.”
You vaguely hear him walk further into the dark room, slipping around the different tables as he moseys his way closer. “Why?”
“S’this fucking sequence,” you mumble, now glaring at the different variants that litter the test. “Every time I run the simulation, the connection fails. And it shouldn’t.”
Your peripheral catches the way he uses his knuckle to push his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. “Is there a missing link?”
“There shouldn’t be. I’ve run it before, and it’s worked fine. But now it’s not. It’s like something is broken.”
“Or missing,” he argues, coming to a stop behind your chair. He studies the project from over your shoulder, and you feel your muscles recoil when you get a whiff of his cologne. “There could be something wrong with the back end.”
“Okay, well, there’s not,” you retort, shooting him a quick glare. “I already checked.”
“Well maybe you missed it. You have a tendency to misplace things.”
“I didn’t misplace it, Harold, I studied every inch of that fucking code, and there was nothing broken or missing.”
He leans back, arms crossing as he regards both you and the program. “Maybe you should check it again.”
“And maybe you should bite me,” you huff, too overworked to deal with the snarky attitude. “I really don’t have time for this today, all right? Can you just leave me to it?”
“I’d like to, but clearly you don’t know what you’re doing,” he replies calmly, and even without looking at him, you can sense his smug smile. “Every time I leave you to it, I come back to find out you’ve wrecked our project.”
Your eyes roll. “First of all, it’s not our project. It’s my project. And second…why are you even here? I thought you had shit to do tonight.”
“I did, but I’m done now.”
“Oh, so, naturally you came back just to annoy me?”
“Naturally.” He places his hand on the desk beside you and leans down, hovering near your arm as he glances over the computer. “There could be something wrong with the framework. Try the sequence again, I wanna see how it behaves.”
“No thanks.”
Harry smirks, and you realize you don’t like how close his face is. “Relax, Tinkerbell, I just wanna help.”
“And I don’t want your help,” you remind him, using your elbow to shove him to the side. “I’ve spent months with this program, it’s my baby, and I will fix it alone.”
“We’re supposed to be working together,” he argues, but it’s much too coy. “So stop being such a bitch and just run the goddamn sequence.”
You snort under your breath as you spin around in your chair to look at him. “It was that bad, huh?”
He settles back against the table behind him, hands shoving into his pockets as he stares right back. “What was bad?”
“The sex.” You jut your chin toward him. “The thing you had to do tonight. It was bad enough that you had to come back here and start swinging your dick around just to feel better.”
He smirks, tongue running over his bottom lip. “It was fine.”
“Fine? Gee, how romantic.”
He exhales an amused laugh and glances around the lab. “She was still hung up on her ex. Think it lasted all of fifteen minutes, and I’m pretty sure she faked it.”
“Well, she was having sex with you. Of course she faked it.”
His smile gets a bit bigger. “Well, I faked it, too.”
“You?” you scoff. “No way. She could have sneezed on your cock, and you still would have cum.”
His head shakes, grinning wildly. “Normally, yeah. But we both just wanted to get out of there.”
“Poor girl.”
“Yeah? What about poor me?”
“Oh, I never feel sorry for you. You always find a way to get what you want eventually.”
His head tilts, green eyes sparkling behind the tortoiseshell frames of his glasses. “Do I?”
“Clearly.” You settle back into your chair, legs crossing. “I mean, have you ever heard the word no in your life?”
“Hear it all the time with you.”
“Exactly. I’m doing you a favor.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yeah. I’m keeping you humble.”
“Is that right?”
“It is.”
That smug look of endearment returns as the lab falls silent. He watches you for quite some time, and you think that you’d pay anything to hear what he’s really thinking.
Then, he smirks. “Good,” he says, and with that, he’s pushing off the desk and striding to you.
He bridges the five-foot gap between you with ease, and you aren’t even afforded the chance to take a breath before he’s grabbing hold of your face and kissing you.
His large body bends in order to reach you in the chair, but you can feel him tugging on you. Encouraging you up and into his hold as you gasp against his mouth and allow him to help you stand.
It’s a seamless dance. Familiar. He grabs onto your hips and slams you onto the desk, knocking a few pens and some of the various equipment out of the way.
His hands are sliding up your shirt. Memorizing the expanse of your skin as his lips press into your neck. Nipping and sucking just below your ear in the way he knows you love.
Your fingers have disappeared into his curls. They’re soft and oddly comforting. Perfect to tug on as you whimper gently and arch your back. Pressing your tits against his chest as he groans.
“Can I tell you a secret?” he murmurs, now sliding his hand toward the zipper on your jeans.
You nod quickly, mewling as you practically buck into his touch.
He smiles, mouth trailing across your jaw, “I was thinking about someone else, too.”
Your lashes flutter shut.
“The whole time,” he carries on, rough fingertips dancing down the front of your underwear. “When I was with her. Couldn’t think about anybody else but you. Every time she’d whine or say my name, I thought about how you’d do it. How you’d sound, how you’d feel.”
Your nails scratch down his black t-shirt, needing more than anything to feel his skin. See it littered with your marks. Your claim.
“She could never do it right,” he tells you, and it makes your stomach wrench. “Never do it like you.”
“Yeah?” you manage to breathe, wiggling in an effort to help him yank your pants down. “S’that why you couldn’t get hard?”
He grins as he flicks his belt undone. “Who says I couldn’t get hard?”
With a rather determined tug, he shoves your panties to the side, large hands stroking through your folds.
“Because if I’m thinking about you,” he whispers, eyes trained on your cunt, “I’m always fucking hard.”
You whine when he thrusts inside, two fingers to start. He’s rarely gentle, but you love it. And so does he, obsessed with the image of your pussy stretching around him. Any part of him. His tongue, his hands, his cock.
He’s bigger than most, and he always makes sure to prep you before he gives you what you really want. Granted, he taunts you with the idea of ruining you and splitting your poor cunt in half each time. Driving himself to the hilt before your tight little hole is ready. He likes the idea of corrupting you for someone else.
“Relax,” he instructs, soft but firm. “S’gonna hurt a lot more if you don’t.”
You drop your head back and balance yourself on your hands, legs pushed open by his hips. “I’m trying,” you whimper, just to see his jaw clench.
“Gonna have to try harder,” he says, working his fingers into your wet cunt while his glasses slowly begin to slip down his nose. Settling at a crooked angle, and it makes you smile. “Can’t give you my cock if you don’t.”
You push your lips into a pout. “Please, Har.”
He looks up, the veins in his neck prominent as he seems to swallow another groan. “You’re so tight, Tink. Gonna wreck this pretty pussy if I don’t get you stretched.”
“Good,” you moan, thighs shaking as he brings a third finger closer. “Want you to.”
He grins. “Yeah?”
You nod fervently. “Want you to do whatever you want. I’m always good for you. Always fit you.”
“You do,” he agrees quietly, the heel of his hand pressing into your clit as he works through your arousal at a quicker pace. “Always take me so well. Even when it makes you cry.”
You whine again at the thought as he finally yanks his fingers free and moves to retrieve his cock.
You’re nearly salivating at the idea, scooting toward the edge of the table in preparation as he pulls himself out and steps up to you.
Your eyes widen when you see him. Hard and heavy in his hand, leaking the most delicious looking drops of pre-cum that you’re already thrilled he never offered this other girl.
He runs the tip through your folds a time or two, making you both squirm before he gently begins to push in.
You have to give him props for the amount of restraint he always demonstrates for you. The ability to go slow and be delicate despite the fact all he wants to do is ram himself inside you and settle into your warm cunt.
Like now. You can see the effects of such sluggish movements, the way he holds himself back until he’s sure you’ll be all right. Teeth gritting, muscles tensed, cock throbbing.
You reach out and gently slide his glasses back up, making sure they’re comfortable and that he can see all right before kissing him. “Okay…okay, go.”
He kisses you back quickly before studying you. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah,” you whimper, hooking your leg around his hip. “Need it, Har, please.”
And that’s all it takes for him to sheath himself inside your aching pussy, disappearing completely between your legs as you both moan.
The quiet lab isn’t so quiet anymore, and you throw your arms around his neck as he begins to pull out and push back in.
“There she is,” he grunts, large hand squeezing your thigh to keep you still. “Look at you, Tink, taking me so well.”
“Always,” you exhale, pressing your mouth to his cheek.
“Better than she ever was,” he continues, setting a quicker rhythm now. “So much better.”
He’s pounding you into the desk, hitting spots that make you see stars, and you clench around him until he gasps.
“Funny how well you take me…when you claim to hate me so much,” he says now, unable to resist needling you, and you whimper.
“I do,” you insist, despite the way you scratch down his back. “Fucking hate you.”
“Yeah?” His hips snap to yours. “S’that why you always beg for my cock?”
You don’t like the insinuation that you beg him for anything, especially when you know that he’s right. But you’re too far gone right now to take care, equally as depraved of pleasure as he seems to be.
The two of you don’t do this often. Maybe once or twice a month, if that. Most of the time, it’s incredibly unfriendly. A quick fuck in the supply closet or in his car in the parking lot. In between quippy remarks about how fucking unhinged the other is. How idiotic, and uncouth, and how goddamn annoying.
Because he is. So endlessly annoying and every day you have to resist the urge to slap those fucking glasses off his face.
But he knows how to fuck. That much is certain, and despite your immeasurable hatred for him, you can’t help but fall victim to his prowess.
In fact, moments like this are about the only time you don’t mind him. That you can actually stand him, and even want to submit to him.
Of course, you’re filled with regret and embarrassment the second you’re both finished, but for these few minutes…you don’t mind.
“Every fucking day,” he continues, holding onto your waist as he buries his cock deeper. “Have to watch you parade around like you’re fucking God’s gift to technology.”
You’d snort if you had enough air in your lungs to do so.
“In your fucking tight little tank tops and see through dresses,” he seethes, dragging you back to the edge of the desk to angle you the way he likes. “With your hair always up in that stupid ponytail. Just begging to be pulled. To be yanked onto your knees while you take me down your throat.”
Your eyes roll back as you keen into his body. Memories of swallowing around him flooding your mind as you shiver.
Despite his aggravating remarks, he’s always so proud of you when you take his cock down your throat. He knows it’s a lot and he knows he can’t force you to do anything your body isn’t equipped to handle.
But he’s enamored with the way you try. Pleased to see you lick him, suck him, take as much of him as you can. He might hate you, but he praises you more than anybody else ever has.
And it’s one of the main reasons you can’t quit him.
“Then maybe…you shouldn’t look,” you pant, whimpering when he thrusts particularly hard. “I don’t wear that shit for you.”
He snorts, now grabbing onto your wrist and forcing your hand against your clit. He moves your fingers for you, pressing them into the sensitive nerves until you cry out and clamp down on him again.
“No?” he taunts, cock twitching inside you as he nears his release. “Then who do you wear it for, hm? Fucking Sam?”
You make another noise as he pushes your body into more immense pleasure, touch still locked atop yours.
“No, not Sam,” he decides. “Cause Sam can’t do it the way I can. S’why you came to me, isn’t it?”
You don’t dignify this with a response. You don’t have to. He knows.
“Sam can’t make you cum, can he?” Harry continues, almost vengefully as he feels you get closer. “Never fucking could. That’s why you only cum for me.”
It’s blinding. So intense that it makes your entire body ache as you fall victim to the wave of pleasure pulling you under.
He’s right behind you, spilling into your cunt before spilling out of it. Dripping down your legs, down the table, down his thighs as you both ride each other through the bliss.
He doesn’t let you release your clit for at least a good two minutes after, ignoring your pleas for mercy as your body struggles against the sensation.
It’s overwhelming. Hot, sticky, sweaty. He pulls out to go grab a towel from the supply closet before bringing it back and helping you clean up.
He leaves a few teasing licks to your cunt in the process, and you swat your hand across his head in warning.
He smirks.
Once he’s finished, he pulls your jeans back on and up before tucking himself into his pants to do the same.
Then, after helping you hop down, he offers you a lopsided grin and pushes his glasses back up.
“Now,” he says coyly, “go be a good girl and run the fucking sequence.”

How does the virus function? Patient zero is the most affected at the moment with it having near total control over her, more as a suggestive force that alters her inhibitions and exploits any vulnerabilities (her relationship with pomni) , but the fucking brainworms™ are more than willing to wipe the slate clean if the host starts to question the delusion too much and make them complacent with delusion. however, it seems entirely beholden to its host, and if the host decide it wants to die, well said fucking brainworms™ are doomed. the effects seem to vary from host to host, for gangle it was like a parasite that she just had to remove, for jax it seems to make him almost feral (most likely manipulating memories to increase aggression) as for kinger, it seems to be almost binding, like the virus is struggling to organize the code and more unable to actively attack. does it act similar to a fungus? Building a network of hosts and carriers who function according to degree of infection, since ragatha seems more then capable of understanding them it would suggest more of a hivemind network. Ragatha is at the later (potentially final stages) of the infection, much like how a fungus replaces peices of its host, and when the primary host dies, would it migrate to one of the other hosts, making them sort of carriers. players and npcs are extremely complex that the fucking brainworms™ are more than able to attach to and gradually replace (like the ship of thesus) but what happens if it infects something else, say Gangle's mask. while it's not a player character, it is both a player model, and a player asset that affects behavior. if say the fucking brainworms™ were wiped out via washing machine. could it build its own self from that character model with the pieces its ripped from the others, Gangles ribbon like movement, Jax's sight, and so forth. ultimately i wonder if the virus is more like a virological pathogen, akin to flu, or more organized and fungal in nature. and if it is organized, how organized, is it capable of forming a hivemind? (Sorry for the tangent, and the wall of text, can't wait to see more!)
oh boy ! wonderful questions , this is going to also be a long one .
the reason i often call it The Evil Fucking Worms is because it's based off Computer Worms ! (: it's not one-to-one as the influence Needs a host unlike actual computer worms , but they do share the need to spread , infiltrating Several potential hosts , and being a pain in the Ass to remove .
which means it is essentially an Evil Digital ( Kind Of ) Fungus . it latches itself into a host , have them spread the virus , and create a network ! however it inevitably means they have a top-down approach ..... so the entire thing will Fall Apart if the host goes ...... they are capable of migrating , of course , but that thing's Not immediate . if ragatha was shot in the head , either by someone else or her own volition , the virus instantly goes away and the circus is saved !!!!! we also have one casualty but let's not talk about that —
it's not smart . if they were in the virus olympics they would score last place . but in all fairness , they aren't Sentient or have Consciousness . they're just Functions trying to complete the specific task of Infecting . i like to think that in the process of taking over their host to create an exit , they got stuck . and tried to solve the problem by essentially going Oh Shit Oh Fuck just keep spreading I'm sure it'll solve the issue ( It Didn't )
so even if it infected a player model nothing would happen if the primary host got anti-virus'd . on another note , i feel a player model getting infected first would indirectly infect the player it's connected to . and subsequently make them the primary host .
player models , to me , are pieces that connect to a whole , and the player's brain is a part of that whole unfortunately .
i do Love the idea of it building itself a body through the pieces it ( read : ragatha ) took from the others , though , but it relies too much on its primary host to even bother with that kind of thing . unlike real worms they aren't really smart . they lowkey kind of dumb ...... if they manifest they would just be a tiny squishy centipede ( or whatever other animal that would thematically be consistent with its host ) ..... ragatha's the only one with the braincell ....
a hivemind used to be possible , but i've downplayed a LOT of the virus because i wanted to give ragatha more agency — because i think it's more interesting if she Does things rather than Taking Orders from the worms in her brain . of course she would Never do this shit without the worms in her head , but she's not like being directly commanded to Kill y'know . right now , the only thing that's Kind Of hivemind-like is the infected being able to understand each other .

"you're still a orange code for now so," the nice staff lady reached forward buckling the muzzle behind my head so it would fit in place on my face.
"sorry you have to wear this, it can't possibly be comfortable."
i never realized how pretty the nice staff lady was. i blushed as she smiled at me. maybe it was how close her face was to mine or the fact someone had been nice to me in so many years that made my stomach feel weird..i couldn't tell.
"i think your wing should be healed soon, though im not sure if you'll be able to fly for awhile." she said while petting my bandaged wing.
she smiled once again, "wait here for a bit, i'll be back soon to get you and bring you to another room." i nodded at her.
she soon left the room and i sat there on the chair waiting to meet this stranger who requested time with me.
------
𝐬𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐡𝐰𝐚'𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐯
i was walking to the adoption center with the food Hongjoong made in hand. it was a rather cold day so i wore a heavier jacket.
"i hope they like fried rice." i thought to myself as i looked at the food in my hand.
i opened the doors to the adoption center and walked to the front desk. there was a lady there who looked up from her computer upon seeing me enter.
"hi there, how may i help you!" she spoke
"hi, i was wondering if i could look at the hybrids that are up for adoption?"
"of course," she handed me a paper with multiple hybrids. their names, species and gender were all on the paper along with what code they currently were. there were no red codes since those hybrids were too aggressive to be talked to or be up for adoption. the lady watched me as i scanned over the paper looking for the bird hybrid i saw, then i saw it.
"Y/N, osprey hybrid." i said in my head.
"i would like to see this one, please." i pointed to the name on the paper.
"sure thing, let me get them ready for you." she walked into the back where i couldn't see her anymore. i went and sat down on one of the chairs near me. about 20 minutes later, the staff lady came back.
"you can follow me, the rooms ready."
-----
𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐯
when the staff lady came back to get me she brought me to another room. it was similar to the room i was being kept in but there was no bed, the room was a bit smaller and there was only one chair but there was was a pretty big window that showed outside this time..and there was one more thing, a person. his hair was black and rather long for a guy, he was wearing a long black coat and some jeans, he was rather pretty i had to admit. the staff lady was walking behind me so i had no choice but to walk into the room. she smiled at me and mouthed "be nice" to me before shutting the door and walking away.
"hi there, Y/N," he started "i'm Seonghwa."
i wasn't really listening to him as he continued to ask how i was and what not. the smell of other hybrids was filling my nose. the most prominent one was a fox smell, but there was also a small smell of a bear. even if i didn't smell it i would know he lives with another human considering it was him and his hybrids with the other human on his lock screen.
"you must be hungry, i doubt the food here is all that good," he reached down next to him and picked up a container wrapped in a cloth and untied it.
"here, it's fresh, made today."
he handed me the container with some chopsticks for me to use. i stared at him for a few seconds before reaching out slowly and taking it. i couldn't lie, it smelled really good. i let Seonghwa unbuckle the muzzle. he sat it down next to him and i sat down near the other corner across from him on the floor and took a small bite. as much as i tried to hide it, the rice was really good. i guess Seonghwa noticed my wings relax as i ate the rice. he smiled at me, it made my face heat up a bit when i saw.
"do you like it?" he asked. i nodded slightly.
"i'm glad, i'm sure Hongjoong would be happy to hear that."
"your room mate?" i questioned.
he nodded, "how did you know?"
"i can smell them." he nodded again
we sat in silence for a bit while i finished the rice he gave me. once i finished i handed it back to him. he took it and wrapped it in the cloth once again.
"why would you want to think about adopting me?" i asked suddenly. the question seemed to catch him of guard.
he thought for a moment, "you look lost, almost like you need guiding in life right now. i'm assuming you're unregistered so you must not be use to being adopted." he finally spoke.
i stayed silent. he was right, i am lost. ever since my grandpa passed i haven't known what to do with my life. for the past two years i've just simply been existing. i wasn't sure how to respond to him so i just stared outside. maybe if being adopted means i can go outside without getting weird looks or possibly getting taken to a hybrid 'pound' then maybe life wouldn't be as bad or boring.
"i'll do it," i said without turning my head towards him. "i'll let you adopt me"
"i'm not going to force you into this if this isn't something you want." he stated "this is for you, it's your descision." i nodded at him.
"okay, i'll tell the staff."
------
everything had went smoothly, Seonghwa signed all the papers and i got all the stuff i had with me and now we were walking to what was going to be my new home.
"don't be nervous," he looked at me smiling "they'll love you, and you'll love them."
i wasn't as nervous as i was scared. i had only ever had bad interactions with other hybrids. for now i just tried to focus on how pretty the sky was today. it was nice to get out and get fresh air. it was a little cold but i didn't mind it all that much, i used my wings to shield me from the wind. after some walking we reached the door of what i assumed was his apartment. he opened the door.
"Hongjoong, we're home!" Seonghwa yelled out.
after a few seconds, a rather short man came from around the corner. i hid slightly behind Seonghwa, though my wings were still visible to 'Honjoong'.
"welcome home Hwa, and?"
"Y/N" Seonghwa answered.
Hongjoong soon approached me, "our other hybrids know about you coming here, so don't worry they'll be nice." i nodded at him coming out from behind Seonghwa. i hadn't noticed before but there was another person standing in the hallway to the door where we were. a hybrid, a fox. he seemed like he was holding in his excitement and trying to not jump on me. Hongjoong turned around to him.
"you can come say hi Wooyoung."
immediately upon hearing he could come over, Wooyoung rushed over and was immediately smelling me. it caught me off guard to be honest and i stepped back and made a sort of hissing noise at him, not like a cat but similar and flared out my wings, which couldn't go out all the way, trying to create a bigger image to scare him.
he looked at my wings with a sort of love look in his eyes, "wow, so pretty!" he said like he was speaking his thoughts. he reached his hand out to touch my wings but Seonghwa grabbed his wrist and stopped him, "Wooyoung calm down, let them breathe for a second!" he scolded the fox. Wooyoung pouted. i folded my wings onto my back again and smoothed out the fluffed up feathers. i stood behind Seonghwa and peaked around him to look at the fox. he continued pouting. i extended my arm out for him to smell me from more of a distance. he grabbed me by the wrist and pulled me more forward. i stumbled and was now pressed against Seonghwa's back, he didn't move from me pushing him though. i blushed slightly as Wooyoung smelled my wrist so intently.
"you smell like a warm forest," he continued smelling me "i like it."
"Wooyoung come on, give them space." another voice spoke. i looked up at the sound of the voice and saw another hybrid. this one had a large frame, he seemed strong. he walked towards Wooyoung and pulled my wrist from his hand. Wooyoung pouted once again.
"Sannnn i was just smelling them!" he pouted to the siamese hybrid.
"i'm sorry about that." he said rubbing my wrist.
i pulled my wrsit out his grasp, "it's okay." i said softly.
"let me show you to your room." Hongjoong spoke up. i nodded and followed him. it was a short walk to the room i was going to be staying in.
"you'll be sharing a room with our other hybrid till we finish cleaning your own room, i hope that won't be a problem." i shook my head,
"no, it's fine i don't mind it" i responded quietly.
when we reached the room the other said hybrid was in there sitting on the couch in the corner.
"this is Jongho, i hope ya'll can get along, he's nice so don't worry." Hongjoong smiled at me. i smiled back and he soon walked away. Jongho didn't say anything to me, he barely looked at me. i noticed the small brown ears peaking out from his hair. a bear hyrbid im assuming. he was rather adorable, even though he was lowkey glaring at me, his fluffy hair with his chubby cheeks made his glare not all threating. i walked into the room and sat on the bed in the other corner from Jongho.
"that's my bed." he stated still giving me the same look he gave when i walked in.
"oh, i'm sorry.." i shuffled over to the other bed in the corner and sat on that.
Jongho got up and walked into the bathroom of our now shared room. i sighed. it's going to be awhile before he accepts me.

Electric Love: Pt. 1
Edgar [Electric Dreams 1984] x Gn!Reader
All of my fics so far have followed the same universe, so I thought it's only logical that I post an introduction to that universe.
Tumblr media
The old man peering at you through puffy eyes and age seemed to have an air shrouded in mystery. His thin, white wisps of hair seemed to stagnate in place as he adjusted his button down.
“This old thing has been around for years now,” he gruffed—an unreadable tone—as his hand encased the yellowed plastic, “I don’t remember what happened to it; must have dropped it, or let some animal chip away at it.”
The dingy, vintage computer before your eyes surely had not been dropped, nor torn into by some animal. It sat upon his countertop completely destroyed; as if it had burst and shattered from the inside out, ripping the glass into jagged shards. You swallowed this thought; this was no time to debate the old man. He seemed to be quite senile as it was and pushing any further seemed like a fruitless effort. Instead, you stretched a thin smile his way, pursing your lips in thought.
“You actually think you can get this thing to work again?” he queried, raising a salt and pepper brow at your expression.
“Well, I’m not sure, but… I’d like to try,” what you hadn’t told him, however, was your infatuation with electronics. Ever since completing your bachelor’s in computer science, you have been tinkering away at many different projects in between jobs, building custom PCs, fixing old Game Boys, and many others. This little computer was an addition to your ever growing collection.
It came from a company you had never heard of before, only to learn it had become defunct in the 80s due to some inexplicable software issues in their products. This certainly intrigued you, as prodding into its code could provide some useful insight to real, vintage tech that just doesn’t exist anymore. But, that’s only if you manage to fix the heap of destruction limply hung before you.
The old man stiffened at your words, ever so slightly, before rattling out, “Well, if you do, don’t bring it anywhere near me. I can’t stand all this tech, and gadgets, and whatnot. Pisses me off.”
“Right,” you interjected, knowing people like him tend to go on long, anti-future, anti-technology rants, trying desperately to beat him to the punch, “well, how much do you want for it?”
He stilled, contemplating for a moment, “twenty-five should be fine.”
“Perfect,” you chirped, padding against your pockets and bag searching for some cash. Pulling out your wallet, you waded around the folds, only to find a crumpled up and faded ten dollar bill and a debit card.
“Ah, I’ve only got a ten…”
He rolled his eyes, “of course you do, you got PayPal, then?” Your cheeks flushed a burning red hot from embarrassment, “ah, yes, I do-”
“Great, just pay me that way,” he bent down and scribbled something messily onto a note, “here’s my information. I made sure to set this up for people like you, you know. Nobody carries cash anymore, or so my grandson tells me.”
You force out a nervous chuckle.
“That’s certainly true… these days, ah…” you unlocked your phone and began inputting his information into PayPal before pressing send on the digital payment, “okay, it went through.”
“Perfect. You need help getting this hunk of junk to your car?”
“No, I should be fine, thank you, sir,” you croak as you heave the broken computer into your arms, heading towards his door.
“Well, come back if you want to buy anything else. Nobody goes to yard sales anymore, it seems.”
You can only turn your head and chuckle at his quip, before awkwardly dashing out of his apartment and towards your car. The dampened asphalt from the rain squelched under your toes as you lugged the large piece of tech to the passenger side.
“There,” you whispered, to nobody in particular, as you awkwardly buckled the computer in place, “hopefully you won’t fall that way.”
And just like that, you were off, headed towards home to begin the massive project that was repairing this obsolete device.
“What to do with you?”
You groaned as you thumped the solid mass of plastic and metal against your desk, “you’re incredibly broken.”
First and foremost, it needs a screen replacement. Which is easier said than done. Especially considering the company who manufactured these things hasn’t existed in 40 years. Unfortunately, a close replica will have to do. Maybe you could even upgrade its screen with something with a bit more prowess.
Poking inside of its components seemed to tell a different story. Miraculously, none of the motherboards were damaged with the same ferocity the screen had been. There seemed to be some sort of dried, caked on water damage of some sort, that left a sticky residue, but otherwise, everything seemed to be relatively intact. The yellowed casing could use a wipe down from the thick layer of starchy dust, but it seemed to hold its original shape with surprising ease.
Following a closer inspection, it seemed as though the glass screen, and the components in charge of illuminating it, were the only things in need of replacing. A quick browse on Amazon, some tech forums, and a post on Reddit should be a good start in finding a usable replacement for this sad, broken gadget.
For now, however, you get some isopropyl alcohol and a soft bristled toothbrush to chip away at the water damage on the motherboards in hopes of restoring the electrical connections. You were quite hopeful that you’d get this little guy up and running just as soon as you could find the right parts. It’s only a matter of time.

It is time- (Or: It Has Begin XD)
Greetings, my dear readers, it has been quite some time. First and foremost I would like to assure you that yes, I'm alive, and no, I have not abandoned my writing. But, I HAVE been distracted by somehing in the last few months, and I think its time to reveal it. I made a game! And not just a game, a Shadowgast game. I would like to present to you:
Beacon Run.
Ko-Fi This game begun its existance as a homework project for a game dev course I took about a year ago. I was supposed to implement a simple chase and pickup game and I thought, "Why use some random sprites when all I can imagine is small chibi Caleb chasing small chibi Essek around while Essek is trying to nom beacons?"
This idea lit a fire in my brain, and I just had to implement it but I had a very short time for the assignment. Iended up implementing something very simple, but I just couldn't let it go afterwards and vowed I was going to finish that small game and get it out for the fandom to play.
It has since been rewriteen, refactored and recoded several times, until I had something workable to show others. This is the place to mention the major contribution the people fo AIFL had on this little game. As I was maing this game, I shared its early stages with the server, and people have been kind in thier enthusasm, gave me ideas and provided invaluable criticism and feedback. They kept me motivated and kept me going through the lows of frustration one gets when coding. I got @bumble-b-goode 's permission to use their designs for the Weezards and drew my own sprites using that as inspiration. I ended up creating most of the assets for this game. Drawing the art assets took quite some time and I've learned a lot in the process.
Beacon Run not big or complicated as a game. In essence, is a tribute and a love letter to the Critical Role community and the CR crew. To the people who brought to life the Mighty Nein and have shared, and continue to share their stories with us on a weekly basis throughout the years. For Liam and Matt, who have weaved the tale of two broken wizards mending each other into better people, and keep their children of ink and paper alive for us to enjoy. The game: You as a player, are randomly assigned a little wizard to play for each match, so you can play as Essek or Caleb. The board dimensions and obstacles and even the flooring art are randomized for each match so each match is different. Your goal: to collect as many Beacons as you can during the allotted time, and end up with more Beacons than your rival which is the other wizard played by the computer. You gain projectiles over time, which are fake Beacons you can throw at the other wizard. If hit, the rival wizard is stunned for a short time, and drops several of his picked up Beacons for you to gather. However, beware! The rival wizard can also shoot you and stun you for a short while, and make you drop beacons as well. (You might notice that Essek gets stunned by sour lemon Beacons, while Caleb gets stunned by hand-knitted wool Beacons XD) In addition, when the rival is hit, he may drop a Magic Abeyance Bead which contains a Chronurgy spell. if you pick it up, it will provide a short time bonus for the match. In short, the game is a small, cozy game, made out of love for the wizards and the fandom, and I hope you'll enjoy it! I it still in the late stages of testing and development, as the feedback players provide is invaluable and lets me find bugs, add ideas and content suggested and tweak the mechanics to make it more enjoyable. So I would very much appreciate feedback, suggestions, con-crit etc. I would be happy to head what you like about it, what you think needs tweaking, ideas of content to add.... you name it! (Note that currently, the game does not work on mobile. I am planing to revamp the input system and add touch suport for mobile in the near future) Also it is worth mentioning that as I fix bugs, add content and tweak things, I upload new versions of the game so its worth following the Devlog and updates. The game is avaliable for play in the embedded player on the page, and also available for download to play offline (Though you might need to redownload it with every new version as I don't have an auto updater for it.)
In addition, if you like my work, feel like enabling me to make more of these or just want to buy me a coffee, It is always very much appreciated as it sure helps me stay afloat! Tip Jar
So, I hope you forgive me for my lack of writing for the last few months. I really wanted to get this out. I am trying to keep writing in my spare time, but the muses haven't been with me lately. I hope that now that this is out I can finally get my mind off it XD Stay tuned!

Leverage timetravel, pre pilot/child ot3 meet their redemption era selves
(I took some liberties re: /meeting/) In hindsight, visiting the US Patent office was probably not their smartest move.  Never return to the scene of the crime, and all, at least not if the job was finished.
But they'd put a pin in going back for the time machine, and not even a really bad idea could deter Hardison from an actual time machine. Well. Portal, like Eliot had said.
It hadn't come with an instruction manual, but the three of them, Hardison, Parker, Eliot were professionals at figuring things out on the fly . Even lost in the past. Even scattered.
Hardison knew he just had to wait, though. They'd find each other. They'd lived through the past once, they could deal with it again, especially knowing everything they did. And it wasn't like they had to live through the whole span of years, either. They just had to find each other, put the pieces back together, scattered with them, and go home. Easier said than done--he was starting to think they might have ended up in different times--but still, the Estimated range was fifteen to twenty years, so that was only five max before they met up, right?
Hardison had gotten right to work. Ads in every major newspaper in the heartland cost plenty, but he had years of criminal practice on top of knowing what tech to invest in, so he really wasn't that worried. He guessed Eliot would be betting on sports games, like in Back to the Future. Parker... well, it was hard to guess where she was. Once he and Eliot met up, they'd have to wait for her to get to them. He did have a few things to do, first.
He knocked on Nana's door, feeling like maybe he ought to be wearing a bow tie.
"What is it? You from the county?" she asked, when she opened the door. He could see behind her a few curious faces, including his own. Damn, he'd been so tiny.
"Yes, Ma'am," he said brightly. He could remember this day, vaguely. The box he held was more familiar than his adult face. "I'm here to install your new computer."
"I didn't order any computer," Nana said. "Run your scam someplace else."
"It's not a scam!" he heard his own voice say. "I entered a contest at school."
He had. And he'd lost. Stupid Jake Puckett had won, a kid who could have easily afforded a computer. Alec hadn't known that though, until Hardison'd checked idly. And he wasn't about to just let all of history change. Well, all his own history.
"You got some proof of that?" Nana asked, and Alec went  scampering off to his room to find his copy of the essay.
Satisfied with the expertly forged documents (wow! it was much easier to forge past documents when you were in the time they were from!) Nana let him in and pointed to a corner desk near an outlet.
"You ever use your own one of these?" Hardison asked Alec, who shook his head. " just the one at school. I really won?"
"Sure did. Now, let me show you what this thing can do."
~
Eliot stood at the edge of the field, a newspaper crumpled in his hand. Hardison was in Boston, if the ad was right, and of course the ad was. No one else put that much effort into a coded message.
He watched the football fly. In two weeks, the kid throwing it would be on a bus to boot camp. He closed his eyes. There were options.  Kid wouldn't believe him, of course. There were no secrets yet, to spill as proof. And he was too stubborn to buy the warning.  A good solid tackle, though. Break his arm bad enough...
He'd thought about it. And then about the what ifs. The blood would still be spilled, he knew that. Someone else would end up on Moreau's chain. Someone else would end up with a half dug grave for Flores, and maybe keep digging it.  Everything he'd done for money, the money'd go to someone else. Job might not get done, or it might.
He'd be there for his mother's funeral. He'd miss Katherine Clive's. Rebecca Ibanez.  the way the drinking might have gone... he'd miss Nate Ford's.  He'd go to school, like his dad wanted, never play college ball. Study something-- art history, maybe -- but no, that was him now. Not him then. Him then would be angry and broken. Him then wouldn't have... his people.
He crumped the paper further. "Dammit, Hardison," he said quietly, and walked away.
~
Parker had a code. Some things, you just didn't do. Some were big and flashy and obvious. Some were smaller, quieter.
Hardison would say she shouldn't do this, she knew, and she usually listened to Hardison. He knew what he was talking about, most of the time. You can't change the past. That'd been part of the lecture before they'd gone to steal the time machine.  You can do things, sure, but you always did them.
Well, Parker hadn't done this. No one had, back the first time she'd lived through this day. But she was doing it anyways, breaking his rule and her own. You don't steal from kids who don't have anything.
Carefully, she picked the lock on the child's bicycle chain.

Anderson’s Guide to the Birds of North America, Chapter 1: Lover Boy
Summary: Fourteen scenes from the lives of Blaine Anderson, grad student and avid birder, and Kurt Hummel, clothing designer and Vogue writer, from before their first meeting in the spring of 2020 through falling in love.
Note: Back during the COVID lockdowns I wrote a couple hundred words of Klaine lockdown meet-cute. I thought I would write more, but I guess I didn't feel like writing about the COVID lockdown during the COVID lockdown, so I never did and I never posted the tiny bit I had written. Thanks to Klaine Valentine’s Challenge 2025, I’m finally doing the thing! I'm trying to keep each chapter to around 500 words. Thanks @spaceorphan!

Chapter 1: Lover Boy
Blaine was going to go insane.
He knew he should be grateful. He had it better than a lot of other people. He didn't have to worry about where his next paycheck was coming from, because he didn't get a paycheck, because he was an idiot who had, for some reason, decided his fascination with birds was enough to carry him through another five years of school at minimum after completing college. More to the point, he received monthly distributions from a trust fund his grandparents had set up for him in their wills, and though it didn't make him filthy rich, it gave him enough to live on without having to worry about finances.
But he never would have moved in with Cooper if he’d known they'd be locked up together for weeks (or would it be months?) on end. He loved his brother, but his brother was a lot. At least they had separate bedrooms, plus Cooper had the recording studio and was staying fairly busy with audiobook work. Unfortunately, Cooper did not keep all of his acting and voice exercises to the studio. Nor did he keep his opinions to himself, no matter how many times Blaine said, “I'm not changing what I'm making for dinner,” and “This is what I choose to wear and your opinion has no bearing on the matter,” and “I'm sorry you can't go to the gym, but no, you do not have my permission to use me as a dumbbell for bench presses.”
Blaine was spending increasing amounts of time shut in his bedroom with ear plugs and noise canceling headphones on, working on compiling and coding his field research notes and, when that became too tiresome, checking recently submitted species sightings on ebird.org for potential errors.
Today, he was listening to his Upbeat Sexy With a Twist of Romance playlist—the one he used to listen to while getting dressed for a night out on the town. Oh, what a different time that had been. Now instead of gelling his hair while crooning along to Freddie Mercury singing Ooh, love, ooh, loverboy, whatcha doin’ tonight?  while hoping to get laid or better yet find love, he was bobbing along to the song while entering numbers into a spreadsheet.
But that could be good, too. The rhythm of the music combined with the spreadsheet sent him into a near hypnotic trance that made him forget time and boredom and COVID. It was as close as Blaine got to heaven these days.
A sudden weight on his shoulder jarred him out of his trance.
His brother period of course. Just when Blaine’s mind had found some semblance of peace, Cooper had to disturb it.
He removed his headphones and one ear plug. “What is it, Coop?”
“New lockdown project: I’m going to turbocharge my manscaping routine. I need waxing tips.”
“You interrupted my work for that?”
Cooper waved at the computer screen dismissively. “You should be thanking me. That must be incredibly boring. What do all those numbers even mean?”
Blaine looked at his brother. He looked at the numbers. He looked at his brother again. “I mean this with all due respect, but I seriously want to kill you right now.” He closed his eyes. He took a breath. “I'm going for a walk.”
Blaine had already been for a walk that morning. It was the migratory season, so of course he had. He’d gone out with his binoculars as soon as the sun started twinkling over the horizon. He’d ticked off twenty-seven species, including his first American redstart of the season along with plenty of palm and yellow-rumped warblers, but apparently two hours of birding in the morning wasn't enough to keep him sane.
He jumped from his chair, pulled on a jacket, and grabbed his binoculars. “I'm going to walk until I no longer feel murderous. Love you!” The door slammed behind him.

Say Goodbye to Your Name
Ever since the twins fought, the guardian of negativity made it his goal to ruin the balance. He didn't care which way it went at first, but he was feeling awfully sluggish recently as it tipped in favor of positivity.
His brother was giving it his all to make everyone happy. Everyone but him.
He was always like that.
Figures that they would be programmed to feel the need to keep the balance, but he had a thought: if he powered himself using only a few people, how would that affect the balance?
He's noticed how proximity affects their energy. Being physically near someone who’s feeling happy or sad affects him more than the infinite multiverse does. He presumed proximity gives them easier access, therefore more energy.
Still, one person wouldn't be enough to fulfill the quota. Besides, one person could only give so much negativity before running out, and it would be hard to give them a break without companionship. Maybe if he got multiple that disliked each other he wouldn't even need to do anything.
Three sounded like a good number. It was odd and meant they couldn't split up into pairs. Pairs would be annoying to keep track of. He would want them all to stick together when he puts them through…
Put them through what? Torture? Torment?
Nightmares.
Now that was a nice word. He remembered his brother explaining to him what those were after helping people get over a particularly bad one.
He didn't know that he was the one that caused them.
It wasn't out of malice, he was keeping the balance like he wanted him to. Like the multiverse wanted him to.
Besides, without a nightmare every once in a while, they wouldn't be able to fully appreciate good dreams.
But of course, even when he was doing his job, he was doing something wrong.
As for which people to power himself with…He already had a vague idea.
There were three prominent sources of negativity coming from different universes. Not once have they faltered even with all of his brother’s meddling.
They’d need a place to stay. A big building where all of them can live. Perhaps a mansion or castle.
As for where it would be located, he already stayed in a pocket of the Antivoid which was far away from Error’s.
With a wave of the hand he created a forest and a castle. It was more of an illusion than an actual building, but when it felt and looked like a building, what difference did it make if it wasn't “real”?
And now for actually rounding them up.
Something New was the first universe he went to. He wasn't sure how the naming schemes of the universes worked, he assumed that the Ink guy was the one naming them all, maybe for categorizing.
The world was empty save for one lone skeleton.
He always hated the feeling of loneliness.
It didn’t take long for him to find him, with only one person in the universe he might as well have a target over his head.
He was, predictably, in his room at Snowdin, currently playing a game on his computer.
He was talking aloud, whether to himself or to someone, he wasn't sure but he bet on the former.
“sans, turn around there's some weird octopus thing behind you,” he read the text on his screen aloud. He chuckled and continued tapping away at his keyboard. “you’re not distracting me that easily.” He frowned as he scanned over the words on the screen. “chat, you’ve tried doing this before you're not gonna get me…” he trailed off as the guardian entered his peripheral vision. He choked out a nervous laugh, tearing off his LED cat-eared headphones as he swiveled his chair towards the being.
“Hello,” it said.
Was this some fun event no one’s ever documented before? No, there was something off about this code, it didn’t match with the rest of the game. The coding language wasn’t anything familiar.
Great, not even the anomaly was familiar with whatever this thing was.
“hey,” he greeted.
The creature scanned the room, its many tentacles flicked around the floor like they had brains of their own. He wasn’t sure where the thing’s cloak started and tentacles began, or maybe they were the same thing. Its singular cyan eye looked akin to a human’s eye flipped vertically. At first glance it looks pitch black, but the tar surrounding it has a slight blue-green tinge to it. Its hands, however, were bright cyan like its eye and looked skeletal.
“You’re all alone,” it said.
“yup.”
“Your world is of no use to you anymore,” it said.
“uh.”
Its head leaned closer with its eye piercing at his empty sockets. Some of the tar on its face melted away, revealing a sharp grin of cyan teeth.
Funnily enough, he couldn’t feel the presence of the anomaly right now.
He decided to place his elbow on the arm of his chair and leaned his head against his hand. He exaggeratedly moved his head up and down to show that he was looking it over.
“you’re kinda hot.”
As expected, the thing reeled back.
It looked to the side, hiding its mouth once more and clasping its hands together. All its tentacles curled against its body. Was it flustered?
A moment later it composed itself, moving its hands to its back and straightening its body to full height.
He had to move his head up to make eye contact.
“You can leave this world, if you come with me,” it offered.
“wait, actually?” He perked up, believing he heard wrong. Wait, what did “leave this world” mean? Like, die? Is this thing Death?
“I have a place for you to stay, in another universe. It’ll have all things vital for a mortal like you, shelter, food, water.”
Freedom from this hell? It was highly likely the anomaly wouldn’t be able to follow him. That sounded too good to be true.
He quirked a brow bone. “what’s the catch?”
“There will be two others living with you. You will not be able to return here. I will be feeding off your negativity.”
Well he didn’t mind those first two—What was that last one?
“huh?”
“Oh, and I forgot to mention,” its arm reached out. Suddenly, it held him up by the collar of his shirt. “You don’t have a choice.”
It tossed him backwards. His back hit the ground roughly, but the texture was all different. The ground was vaguely pointy. When he opened his eye sockets he realized he was lying down on grass.
The sky was blue. He could see the sky.
Was this the surface?
“No, this is not the surface,” the thing said as if it read his mind. Could it read his mind? “But you are not underground either.” A tentacle pointed towards a castle in the distance. “That is where you’ll be staying.”
The castle looked exactly like its owner, dark and imposing. It was like it had it custom made and gave the architects a picture of itself for reference.
He whistled, impressed.
“You’ll have to walk there yourself. I need to get the other two residents you’ll be staying with.” It opened a portal, so that’s how they got here, and stepped through before he could respond.
The next universe he went to was similar in concept to Something New, Dusttale. Like the other one, it was empty and it was easy to locate who he needed. Unlike the other one, he wasn’t sitting around in his room, but aimlessly wandering around the Snowdin forest.
Something was off, he thought. He would walk here everyday. This time he couldn't shake the feeling he was being watched.
YOU’VE LOST IT.
He lost it a long time ago, but he's never felt like this.
YOU CAN ALWAYS BREAK SHARDS INTO SMALLER PIECES.
True, but he was inclined to believe something was there. So of course he was on guard.
I WOULDN’T EXPECT YOU TO ACT RATIONALLY ANYWAY.
He stepped over a branch on the ground to avoid tripping. It was habitual, maybe he should move that branch to the side, or change his path, but he's never been good at change.
He was reaching the end of the forest.
Snap.
The branch broke.
He turned around, summoning two gaster blasters by his side and a wave of bones at the direction of the noise.
He heard the bones hit something. It made a squelch noise as if it pierced through viscous mud.
And then he saw what it hit.
YOU’VE LOST IT.
He was inclined to believe that.
“Rude, aren’t we?” Its voice caught him off guard. Really, hearing any voice other than his or Papyrus’s would've caught him off guard but on top of that, this one sounded otherworldly.
He refused to speak. The sound of his own voice reminded him too much of who he used to be, of what he lost.
The being melted into the ground. He almost thought he killed it, and then it rose up by his side a moment later.
“Quiet too,” it hummed in acknowledgment. “I’ll just get this over with, then.” It opened a portal next to them.
Before he could move away, one of its tentacles grabbed him by the shin.
“I am taking you to a different universe. There will be another person there and he is not as hardy as I am. Do not attack him.” It squeezed his shin tightly as a warning.
A different universe?
He was dragged through the portal. The thing didn't follow him, however. The sight of grass and a blue sky threw him for a loop and the other skeleton that looked like him did not help.
The third and last universe was much different than the other two, Horrortale. It was still populated, unlike the others. It was harder to locate who he needed, but again, he was in Snowdin. This time he was at one of his sentry stations.
The spike in his fear when he saw him gave him a rush.
“Hello there.”
The Sans immediately attacked like the one before. A row of sharpened bones burst out of the ground and impaled him, but much to his dismay, it didn't stop him at all from getting closer.
In fact, the bones impaling him were dissolved by the slime covering him.
“Your life here is so drab, isn't that right?”
“you gonna kill me?” he grumbled.
“Quite the contrary. I’m here to give you a new life. It's not like you'll miss the old one, anyway.”
His sockets widened in terror. There was sweat beading on his forehead as his hand scratched at the counter of his stand. “what the hell are you talking about? that's not—”
“—possible?” he cut him off, mimicking the other skeleton’s voice. He laughed, his voice gradually changing back to his own. “Don’t believe me? That's okay, it'll happen regardless.”
A portal opened behind the Sans.
“you can't. i can't just leave my friends—”
Another laugh cut him off. “Friends?! What friends? Oh, the people that you manipulated? Or the people who are the reason why you have that gaping hole in your skull?”
“how the fuck do you know about that?” he snarled.
“Your guilty conscience is so loud, it told me itself,” he sneered. “Come on, don't you want to leave this hell? You’ll have food—of good quality too. You won’t have to worry about going hungry ever again, and it won't be human meat. Doesn't that sound nice? Don't you miss eating?” To give him an example, he summoned a plate of freshly cooked steak on the counter.
Sans’s attention immediately snapped to the food in front of him. The smell was intoxicating. He couldn't help but drool. He could feel his metaphorical stomach screaming at him as his persistent hunger wrenched at his soul.
When's the last time he’s seen steak like this?
His body moved on his own. He lunged. He tore at the steak like a fucking animal. The second he swallowed the first bite, the logical part of his mind took over and he stopped as soon as he started.
“You have more willpower than I thought you did. Stopping yourself after having one bite? I expected you to down the whole thing.”
He gripped at the counter with both of his stained hands, cracking the wood beneath his phalanges. “i’m not some mindless animal,” he retorted.
“Yes, perhaps, but you're a moment away from becoming one. If I left and came back a few years later, would you even be able to hold a conversation with me?”
He didn't reply. He tapped on the counter, irritated.
“You don’t know.”
He gritted his teeth. His smile was strained and stained red.
“And that terrifies you.”
He was trembling.
The guardian shoved him into the portal before he could say anything.
The Sans landed on his back on the grass. The blue sky was as startling as it was to the other two.
Speaking of the other two, they were currently at each other's throats. Scorch marks from gaster blasters and broken pieces of bones littered the grass.
He looked down at the third one. “Welcome to your new home.”
He said nothing, as if he was in shock like a bird that crashed into a window.
Two of his tentacles lashed out to grab and lift the other two by their necks. He brought them closer to him. “I told you not to attack him,” he said to the hooded one.
The third one watched nervously, staying completely still as if moving meant joining those two up there.
The other one laughed, filling the hooded one’s silence. “what nice company we have here. sans one two and three.”
The guardian hummed at his comment. He put the skeletons down before they ran out of breath—could they even run out of breath? Perhaps not. “I will need to give you new names,” he concluded.
The one from Something New, scoffed, “nah, i’m not letting you name me. just call me…killer.”
“Killer,” he repeated. “How fitting.”
Killer shrugged, “if it works, it works.”
“new names. new names?!”
“now red-eye over there should be called crack-head.”
“very creative,” Crack-head deadpanned.
No, that was a dumb name.
“Horror,” he decided. He pointed at the hooded one, “Dust.”
Naming them off of their universes was basic, yes, but they didn't need a name with any thought put into it. In fact, it was better to put as little thought as possible into them.
“great, i’m yanked outta home, surrounded by alternate versions of myself, and now i’m being stripped of my identity. what’s next, you gonna torture us?” Horror complained.
The guardian smiled impossibly wide. “Funny you say that.”
Horror looked unimpressed.
“and what’s your name, huh?” Killer questioned, looking the guardian in the eye.
His name? He didn't recall having one. There was no one to give him a name, but as Killer demonstrated, one could name themself.
He decided to go with the most pleasing word to him.
“Refer to me—as Nightmare.”
“ok, edgelord,” Killer snickered.
He impaled Killer through the chest, narrowly missing his soul, with a sharpened tentacle.
He choked out and staggered, only being kept upright by the tendril impaling him.
The other two's wariness shot up.
Killer fully expected to die right there, but he had a fraction of HP left. It was a calculated hit. If he wanted him dead he would be.
“what the fuck?” he hissed out.
“That's not my name,” Nightmare growled.
“ok ok, sheesh, nightmare!” he shouted with desperation.
The tentacle withdrew. Killer couldn't suppress his scream in pain as he collapsed to his knees.
Horror had a clear grimace, while Dust’s expression was obscured by his hood.
Killer’s breathing was labored and sporadic.
“You can be as insufferable as you want to be, Killer. Just be prepared to live with the consequences,” he said coldly. “Let me make this clear for you all, your old lives are forfeit, your new home is here at the castle, I will provide you with all the necessities, and I will put you through horrible scenarios for my entertainment.”
If it wasn't for the fact he just impaled Killer mercilessly, that last sentence would make them laugh at the ridiculousness of it.
“The first scenario—starts right now.” He raised his arms up and lurid black fog overtook the area, obscuring their vision.
It didn't take long for the fog to do its job. He felt their misery rise in mere moments. The fog in question was a party trick of his; it allowed him to send people into a nightmare of their own making while awake.
He watched as the three struggled and fought against nothing. He could hear one of them arguing, saying something about his eye. The other two were completely silent, blindly throwing attacks at the fog.
He dispelled the fog once he got bored, which didn't take that long. The three passed out once the area was clear. He rolled his eye and opened portals beneath them to send them straight to their new rooms.
This would work, he thought. He already felt better, but he wanted to make this more fun. Using his fog was too cheap and would get old quickly. He’ll brainstorm ideas while they get accustomed to the place.
Horror awoke. He was in an unfamiliar room that was fancifully decorated. He was currently on a bed that seemed like it was worth more than his entire house.
Oh, and he also felt awful. He had a painful headache from whatever the fuck Nightmare did to them. In a way, this was like a personal hell for him. Was this the world’s way of making him repent for all he's done? He wasn't remotely a religious person, but at this point he didn't doubt it.
He caught sight of a slice of pie on the floor. It almost reminded him of one of Toriel’s. He knew better than to eat it, despite his nonexistent stomach’s complaints.
He took the risk of exploring, exiting the room cautiously.
He entered a long hallway. There were five doors in total, three along one of the walls and two at each end. It was relatively dark with the lack of windows. The dim blue flames from the candles along the wall were the only light source.
Killer was also in the hall, currently eating a slice of pie.
“are you crazy?!” Horror blurted, startling the skeleton.
“fuck man!” he jumped, “warn a guy before shouting.” He took another bite of the pie with no regards to if it was poisoned or wherever the hell it came from.
“you're just eating random food on the ground? who knows what it'll do.”
“bud, i was at low HP and saw a delicious slice of pie. of course i’m gonna eat it, poison be damned,” Killer replied without a care.
“you were at low HP because of the one supplying you the pie.”
“if he wanted me dead, i’d be dead. he’s givin’ me pie, i’m eating the pie it's simple.” He took another bite as if to support his point.
Horror muttered something Killer couldn't hear. He sighed, “where's the other guy?”
“you mean dust?” He quirked his head.
“you're not actually going to use the names he gave us, are you?” he questioned.
“well, what else? call us all sans and get all confused? or are you jealous i got to name myself while you're stuck with ‘horror’,” he said with his mouth full.
Horror scrunched his face in disgust. He already hated this guy. “as if ‘killer’ is a good name.”
“it's not a good name, it's a killer name,” he smirked.
“that sucked.”
Killer pouted and finished the last of his pie.
The door in between the two opened, and Dust stepped out.
“good morning sleeping beau—”
He shoved Killer against the wall using blue magic.
“woah!” Horror exclaimed and backed up.
The impact knocked the wind out of him. “ok, damn, bad morning, i guess.” Thankfully the plate in his hands was still intact.
“what's your problem?” Horror said.
Dust glared at Horror, his mismatched eyelights catching the other off guard.
Horror realized how high his LV was and realized why Nightmare named him Dust. He raised his hands in defense. “chill out, dude, we ain’t the enemy.”
Killer summoned a bone in his hand and tossed it at Dust, hitting him in the back of the skull. “yeah, dude, chill.”
Dust slammed him into the ground with a loud shatter before releasing the hold on his soul. He tucked his hands into his pockets and walked towards the end of the hall without a word.
Killer pushed himself up to his feet once Dust exited the hall. “that guy’s a dick.” He brushed the broken shards of the plate off his clothes.
In all honesty, Horror could see where Dust was coming from. Killer's proven to be nothing but annoying so far.
Killer looked down at the broken pieces of the plate on the floor. “it wasn't poisoned, by the way. so hah!” He looked in the direction of each end of the hall. “i’m gonna see if this place has a kitchen.” He decided to go to the door opposite of the one Dust went through.
Horror sighed and pinched the bridge of his nasal bone once he was alone in the hallway. There was a lot to process here, but Killer and Dust seemed unfazed by their new predicament. Weren't they going to miss their friends? Or at the very least, their brother?
He was trying his best to keep calm, or at least appear that way. He decided the best course of action now—was to go back to that room and eat that pie.

My thoughts on Animation Vs. Coding
Spoiler under the cut
I LOVE it !
I like how it shows the different uses of coding with the uses of different libraries. I also like how it's in Python, the most used programming language. And how it can be used to do incredibly complex things at the end of the episode.
However I do think this is the weakest of the Animation Vs Education episode we got so far.
The first reason for this is the time. It's only 8:28 minutes, it's litteraly shorter than Animation VS Geometry ! Now don't get me wrong I don't think the longer is the better, far from it. But with a topic as vast as coding is, I think it's kinda sad we didn't get more.
The second reason is because of the narrative structure of the episode : It's Animation Vs Math, but worse.
Let me explain : Act 1 Yellow/Orange explore their new environnement while learning the base knowledge they'll need in this new world. Act 2 an inhabitant of this world interrupts them and a fight ensue, while fighting they learn more and more complex knowledge but still quite simple. Act 3 They're now fighting with really complicated concepts and in their conflict, they'll end up destroying the world with a nuke/a big laser. And in act 4 they discover they've gone too far and become friends with the episodes antagonist.
Of course there's difference, but essentially it's basically the same
With near half the time AvMath had, this episode is really fast. There's no pause between the fight to let Yellow truly learn the intermediate knowledge. Why is Yellow capable of what they're doing in the end ? When did they learned how a function or a class worked ? The computer (we need a name for this lil guy) was the one coding all the time when Yellow was just Interrupting it or doing minor adjustements. How did Yellow went from playing with a print and two variables to doing a whole neural network ? ("but you see there's a time lapse between when they started and finished the neural network, they learned during that time" No they didn't, they immediatly started like they knew exactly what to do and not experimenting. Yellow didn't learn there, they already knew)
And with these two reasons combined, I think that's why Animation Vs Coding feels less mastered than the previous AvE episodes.
I still love this episode as someone who loves coding, but with previous episodes being such bangers it's normal that this one was gonna have some flaws. As I said, coding is a big of a topic to choose, so of course things would've been missing and all.
Plus the music is cool (It's from the same guy who made AvGeometry's. What a banger)

El Trato request: HCs on Hobie being the petulant lil brother that won’t share his big sis with her new boo Miguel
ok. i love this ( el trato (the deal) series )
Tumblr media
when everyone had found out about you and miguel, all their reactions were versitially different, but hobie brown’s was the most skeptical.
he had had an inkling about you both for a while—even before you and miguel had realised your own feelings—and maybe at first he had found it refreshing, seeing "scary" miguel spare you small glances when you weren't looking, while he'd fiddle with your bracelet that rested on his wrist.
but hobie's feelings towards the situation began to grow a tad sour, because now every chance miguel got he would seek you out, taking you away from...say a lyric session between you and hobie.
you'd be nodding along to a few lyric ideas—hobie's guitar laid across his lap—as you'd chip in possible word changes. hobie loved when you'd change things up.
but then you'd be turning away from him, gazing up at the appearance of miguel who would "not so subtly" tilt his head to the side, asking you to go with him.
hobie at first brushed it aside. 'they've just gotten together' 'the honeymoon phase ‘ill end and i'll ‘ave ma song partner back' hobie would think to himself.
but no...whatever "phase" you and miguel were going through wasn't seeming anywhere near close to ending. it grew insufferable for hobie.
one time, when you tapping away at a keyboard (the tech room having gotten fixed up and renewed) hobie jumped down onto a swivel chair, spinning to sit beside you as he gazed at your work. "boring shit again?" he’d ask eyeing the screen, as you would smirk.
"when are you ever gonna try and describe what I'm doing?" you would ask, leaning slightly back in your chair. hobie would scoff. "it's not that...hard to grasp."
hobie would lean forward, eyeing the computer and the code displayed, as he began to nod. "uh huh." you would just laugh.
then he'd give his reason for his arrival. "i need a partner in crime." he'd grin.
you'd raise your brows. "is it illegal?" "no of course not." you'd chuckle. "either way i can't right now...sorry."
hobie would frown, resting his head on your desk as he'd grab your hand, then in a mockingly deep voice he'd say "are ya' jus' too busy bein' miguel's bed? that it?"
your eyes widen as you snatched your hand out of his, pushing his head off your desk, making him groan as he caught himself rather fluidly. "oh come on, mate...ya spend so much time with tha' goddamn scowler."
you'd just roll your eyes. and of course miguel would appear, making hobie copy the action. don't get me wrong he does like you two as a pair, but with miguel constantly managing to take you away from him his expression is set.
"now who's the 'scowler'" you would sneer.
miguel would eye hobie. "shouldn't you be out?" miguel would then "accidently" knock hobie's chair farther away from you, his clawed hand lightly tapping against the back of yours.
"i'm so sorry, boss..." hobie would drag out sarcastically, standing as he shoved his hands in his pockets. "ya girl seems to be rather busy."
"mhm." miguel would slightly narrow his eyes on hobie. you'd sigh, spinning in your chair as you stood. “I do need to work…so if both of you could get out, if it isn’t important, that’d be great.”
miguel shifts his gaze to you. “what’d I do, chaparrita?” you’d slightly narrow your eyes, as you’d whisper. “I told you not to call me that anymore…”
“but it suits you.” miguel would mockingly grin, his claw digging into the belt loop of your pants to tug you closer.
but then hobie would be grabbing your shoulders, moving you away. “not at work please.” he’d say this to miguel, as miguel would cross his arms. “and not in front o’ me.”
“weren’t you the one who asked if we “banged”?” miguel quotes, making your cheeks flush and hobie’s eyes narrow.
“yeah…well…I mighta lost a bet.” he sniffed, acting “casual”. “oh…uh huh.” miguel would mockingly nod.
and then you manage to get out of hobie’s grasp, beginning to head to the exit. “all this ‘sarcasm’ is making me feel a tad suffocated.” you’d mutter eyeing them both.
but before you could completely leave to take a break and possibly eat, you swiftly reach up, placing a small kiss onto miguel’s cheek. then even more swiftly—rush out of the tech room.
you’re still not amazing with showing too much PDA.
miguel watches you go, his lips itching with amusement. and hobie just eyes him, soon turning narrow. “I told ya not to do tha’ in front o’ me…”
miguel’s half smile drops, looking back to Hobie. then Hobie’s stepping closer, swinging his guitar strap over his body. “don’ fuck it up.” he partially whispered, with raised brows.
miguel tilted his head. “do you really think i would?” there’s a finality in Miguel’s tone that makes Hobie realise his true intentions. leaning slightly back, Hobie nods once.
“then you’re not gonna die if you don’ see each other every 5 seconds.” Hobie’s tone is back to normal, beginning to head to the exit. “so lemme have ma time…”
miguel licks his fang, slowly shaking his head—basically saying ‘no’. hobie throws his hands up in the air. “impossible.”
