I was tagged by @underthetweed for these excellent bookish questions, and while we have a variety of lovely readers advisors who contribute to this blog, they're not around at the moment so you get the answers from me, Robin, your friendly LCPL tumblr editor :)
First crush on a fictional character:
Okay so I know underthetweed mentioned a character from the Prydain Chronicles, but it's utter coincidence that my first fictional crush is from the same series. I was madly in love with Gwydion in fifth grade.
A book that made you cry:
The Shepherd's Crown, Terry Pratchett. Just... just a lot of ugly crying. I waited a long time to read it after it came out, thinking some distance would help. It did not. GNU Sir Pterry.
A book that was spoiled for you:
The Fault in Our Stars. It's way outside my usual reading preferences, so I didn't bother putting any effort into avoiding spoilers. By the time I got around to reading it (because if you work in a library you kind of *have* to read certain books after they hit a kind of critical mass of popularity) I knew everything that happened. And no, it did not diminish my enjoyment of the book!
First book you fell in love with:
I remember requesting a Sesame Street book called I Want a Hat Like That over and over when I was a kid. But the first book I fell in love with reading on my own was probably The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
First time you couldn't stop smiling because of a book or character:
Hm this is a tricky one. Uncontrollable smiling is not really a reaction I often have. There was definitely a lot of internal smiling as I read The Enchanted Forest Chronicles, though, and the early Ouran High School Host Club manga volumes always make me laugh.
First person that really impacted your reading:
Definitely my parents. We always had bedtime stories and daily reading time. My parents made sure my sisters and I had plenty of books that we were allowed to handle and abuse as kids will, and they shared their childhood favorites with me. Later, it was my school librarian, Mrs. Nelson, who saw how quickly I was burning through books and upped the number I was allowed to check out - and didn’t give me grief when I checked out something with a reading level a few grades above mine.
That was fun! Your turn - I'm tagging @irishlibrarian29, @diebrarian, @cobblibrary, @ucflibrary, @darienlibrary, @alachualibrary, and anyone else who wants to share (yes, really, I mean you, go ahead and say I tagged you, I will back you up on that.)

cobblibrary answered your question “So. I finished Three Dark Crowns last week and I’m kinda just feeling...”
I feel the same way! I was wishy washy through the whole thing, but I too am a completionist so. I hated the almost absolute lack of contractions. With so much dialogue it felt really awkward. I almost couldn't get past that >_<
I listened to it on audiobook so I didn’t notice the lack of contractions! that would have been so frustrating lmao. I think I was expecting Hunger Games/Battle Royale and got Game of Thrones style political intrigue and that was kind of jarring.
