In this comparison guide we will explore the strengths and distinctive features of Laravel in contrast to other famous PHP frameworks. We will give developers and businesses guidance and knowledge to assist them in choosing the framework that best suits their project requirements. Let us commence our exploration into the intricacies of the comparison between Laravel and other PHP frameworks, with the objective of determining the most suitable choice.
An Overview of Laravel
Laravel is a contemporary and widely embraced PHP framework that has gained substantial traction among the web development community. The framework was developed by Taylor Otwell and was first introduced in 2011. There are several benefits Laravel framework provides to developers as it provides a refined syntax and a range of functionalities that contribute to enhanced efficiency and expediency in software development. Steps to Hire a Dedicated PHP Development Team
Let's face it, fellow entrepreneur, your startup idea is brilliant. You've got the vision, the passion, the killer pitch deck – but there's one snag: you need a skilled developer to translate that vision into a reality. Especially when it comes to building dynamic web applications, a strong PHP developer is like finding gold.
But with so many options out there, how do you sift through the code to find the perfect match for your project? Worry not, fellow founder, this guide will equip you to hire PHP developer who will make your startup sing.
Step 1: Know Thy Project (And Thy Needs)
Before you dive headfirst into the hiring pool, take a deep breath. Define your project's scope – what features are must-haves, and what are nice-to-haves? Do you need a developer familiar with specific frameworks like Laravel or CodeIgniter? Having a clear roadmap attracts the right talent and ensures you're both on the same page from the get-go.
Step 2: Experience over Ego (Skills Trump Self-Promotion)
Sure, a flashy portfolio is nice, but focus on what truly matters – experience. Look for developers who have tackled similar projects and have a proven track record of delivering successful PHP applications. Don't be afraid to ask for code samples or references from past clients. Remember, you're looking for a coding rockstar, not just someone who can talk the talk.
Step 3: Communication is King (or Queen!)
Technical expertise is key, but so is the ability to communicate clearly. You need a developer who can understand your vision, translate it into code, and keep you updated on progress. During interviews, assess their communication style. Can they explain complex technical concepts in a way you understand? Do they actively listen and ask clarifying questions?
Step 4: The Perfect Fit (Culture Matters Too)
Hiring a developer is like welcoming a new member to your startup family. So, beyond technical skills, consider their cultural fit. Do they share your vision and values? Are they a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment?
Step 5: Freelancer vs. Agency? Picking Your Partner
There are two main paths to consider: hiring a freelance PHP developer or partnering with a dedicated development team . Freelancers offer flexibility and cost-effectiveness, but managing them requires more oversight. Agencies provide a wider range of expertise and streamline project management, but can come at a premium. Weigh your options based on your project's needs and budget.
Bonus Tip: Embrace Remote Work (A Global Talent Pool Awaits!)
The beauty of the digital age? You're not limited by geography. Consider hiring skilled remote developers. Platforms like Developers Pool can connect you with top PHP developers worldwide, giving you access to a broader talent pool and potentially reducing costs.
Finding the right PHP developer takes time and effort, but with this guide as your roadmap, you'll be well on your way to hiring the perfect coding partner to propel your startup to success. Remember, the ideal developer isn't just about writing code – they're an integral part of your team, so choose wisely! Now, go forth and build something amazing!

Ultimate Guide To B2B Website Redesign In 2020
B2B company websites carry a heavy load of responsibility. The competition for B2B suppliers of all kinds is pretty fierce, with potentially millions of B2B companies already running and new ones starting up every month.
Of course, not all websites are set up at an optimum level for this start-to-finish approach. It’s recommended to take the time to reassess your website including your brand identity on a regular basis, ensuring that it stays up to date, truly relevant, and runs at optimal efficiency for your business.
These days, a reputable B2B company needs a sales ready website to reach consumers who are using mobile devices. To that point, if done correctly, your website should be your top sales person.
The use of computers and smartphones increases every day, and searches and purchases online are increasingly being conducted through smartphones and tablets. So if a company doesn’t already have a mobile-friendly website, it’ll lose many potential customers, because they aren’t able to easily navigate your company’s website from a mobile device.
5 Reasons For B2B Website Designs
Traditional B2B marketing often relies heavily on reaching those “in the know,” such as through trade journals, both in print and online. But digital accessibility is ever more important.
More and more B2B buyers — and regular consumers, as well — look to online sources to fill their needs. A report by Sirius Decisions states that as much as 67% of the “buyer’s journey” now takes place online. So even when buyers are not directly purchasing from your site, they are likely to be researching your site as an option.
Your website should be the primary source of information about your business.
This means that it needs to be kept up to date, include valuable information, be easy to use, and utilize SEO keywords to maximize the relevance of the content.
To drive your business both online and off requires careful attention and planning for your website, whether it’s brand new or a complete redesign.
1. User Experience Is Key
Veteran experience in designing and developing a website is an important factor, but that does not take into account your companies value proposition and user experience from a marketers perspective focused on conversions. Don’t try to save money and do it yourself or hire a friend to redesign your company’s website.
2. Professional UI/UX Design
The development of an impactful user experience must rely on your company’s buyer personas in order to ensure your B2B website redesign focuses on optimizing lead-conversion rates. User research is one of the most vital elements of UX design. Most B2B companies focus on a layout that the executive staff likes as opposed to a layout that will lead to higher conversion rates.
User research is how companies determine what their customers and users want and need. At its core, your website should solve a problem, and so this is an important step in determining what exactly your users require. Without it, your designs are simply guesses.
3. Multi-Platform Developers
Web design agencies have a team of numerous professionals capable of designing on any CMS platform. This is not a matter of considering WordPress vs HubSpot, because they are apples to oranges. If you’re trying to sell online or sell subscriptions to a SaaS platform, the CMS platform you choose to power your website is paramount.
The name of the game in this regard is scalability. Your company will be best served by leveraging open sources platforms like WordPress so your team can easily make updates internally without ongoing developer expenses. Alternatively custom built solutions like building in PHP platforms such as CodeIgniter or even highly customizable e-commerce platforms such as Magento.
4. Save Time and Money
Ideally your website should be your best performing sales rep. To that point, if your company is spending more money on your website, then it generates every month, that is an important factor to take into consideration when planning your next B2B website redesign.
Another great advantage of hiring a professional Web design agency instead of having it done by a novice in-house is saving time and money. No reason to pay a team member to learn web design. With people dedicated to the development of every aspect of Web design simultaneously, the delivery time is drastically reduced so that you can meet your deadline for your website’s redesign.
5. Maintenance and Support
All professional Web design involves a lot of technical elements that, for various reasons, may fail at one time or another. When these failures occur, you need a timely response, which is what a Web design agency can provide, allowing you to focus on your core business instead of trying to figure out what went wrong.
Tips for Redesigning Your Website
To a certain extent, redesigning your B2B site will benefit from many of the suggestions and how-tos that are presented for any business website.
For example:
Make sure to keep “user friendly” as a priority. The user experience is sometimes passed over in favor of personal preferences or the desire to cram more information into the site. But according to MarketingProfs, 37% of your viewers will back right out if the site is poorly designed or difficult to navigate.
Make sure your message is clear. There should be no doubt about what your business site is all about. According to the same results from MarketingProfs, nearly 50% of viewers back out of a site because what the company does is not clear from the site content.
Make sure you create content aimed at your audience. This is a different proposition for a B2B than it is for most regular companies, as your audience is made up of other businesses, rather than individuals. This often means that you can create more specialized content, using terms and references that are recognizable to your market, rather than “dumbing down” content by taking the time to explain every little thing. (Of course, there’s also the chance that your customers could be new to the game, so a Frequently Asked Questions page which explains key terms isn’t a bad idea, either.)
Make sure you keep your previous branding in mind. Sometimes a website redesign is more about the look of the thing, rather than the content. Updating your look is great, but make sure that you don’t completely throw your current customers off by changing everything all at once. They should still be able to recognize where they are at when they click on your home page.

Node.js vs. PHP: Which is best for Your Next Dream Project?
PHP and Node.js are known for some of the most widely used technological tools that are used for web development. Therefore, it is no wonder that every web development company has a team of dedicated professionals who are skilled at working with PHP and Node.js. However, it is important to note that these two have very different architectures and concepts which mean that they cannot be seamlessly used for all kinds of projects. It is important that you are well aware of the differences between Node.js vs. PHP so that you can select the best platform for working on your app development project.
1) Benefits of Node.js
1. Fast and smooth server-side solutions
Node.js makes use of JavaScript event loop for coming up with non-blocking I/O applications which can easily cater to numerous concurrent events. The built-in asynchronous processing feature that comes with JavaScript allows users to come up with highly scalable and flexible server-side solutions which can enhance the functionality of computer memory and single CPU while handling more simultaneous requests compared to conventional multithreaded servers. This feature makes Node.js ideal for RTAs and SPAs. By choosing to hire Nodejs developer, you can have both RTAs and SPAs that make use of smooth server-side support.
2. A single scripting language for the whole application development stack
Numerous well-known client-side frameworks like Angular, React and Ember is written with JavaScript as it currently is the primary language of all modern browsers. When you use Node.js as a server-side runtime environment, you can have a single scripting language throughout your whole application development stack. It is always a good idea to use the same language for your front-end and back-end development requirements since it helps to maintain smooth coordination between your working teams. You can have both your frontend as well as backend developers operate with the identical JavaScript functions, data structures, language conventions and idiomatic expressions. This facilitates faster application development, enhanced bug fixing and improved performance of the application.
3. More flexibility
Node.js allows developers to have greater creative freedom when it comes to developing applications since it comes with fewer guidelines, rules and firm dependences. Node.js does not implement strict conventions which mean that developers have the freedom to select the best design patterns, architecture, features and modules for their project. So, when you choose Node.js, your engineers are going to have the opportunity to choose from thousands of modules through the NPM repository.
2) Limitations of Node.js
1. Poor efficiency when it comes to managing CPU-intensive applications
Node.js works as a single thread and event-oriented environment which is not suitable for handling CPU concentrated operations, like editing graphics, generating video and audio as well as managing numerous concurrent requests. Node.js applications tend to respond in a sluggish manner while handling graphics operations or processing large files.
2. Absence of Maturity
Node repository offers easy access to numerous third-party modules which may seem attractive but are rather immature in most cases. In fact, it is difficult to understand the efficiency and quality of a specific module prior to deploying it for your application. There can also be version inconsistencies and bugs which can undermine the performance of the application. For this reason, it becomes necessary for you to be extra careful while making sure that you select the right packages that have recently had necessary updates and bug fixes.
3) Benefits of PHP
1. Rich Code Base
PHP is known for its superior code base which includes well-known platforms like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla for creating websites. There are also numerous PHP web development frameworks such as Zend, Symfony and CodeIgniter to work on Rapid Application Development. If you are looking to create a blog site or an eCommerce portal, you can make use of CMS or Content Management Systems like WordPress to achieve that goal in a short period of time. Even non-developers can work on WordPress and customize their requirements in any way they want. You can also find plenty of PHP applications which can be installed and used easily. There is also a strong PHP community which means that when you hire PHP developer you can have all the support you require for your application development requirements.
2. Portable Solutions
PHP functions as a brilliant portable application development language which can work on any server and every platform. Therefore, you need to write the code just once and then run it anywhere you want. There is also plenty of hosting support for the PHP applications. You can also find shared hosting options for PHP. PHP deployment is also suitable for small companies and business owners who do not want to work with Linux server technologies, SSH (Secure Shell) or console commands that are regarded as suitable for Node.js.
4) Limitations of PHP
1. Inefficient SoC
PHP is particularly not well suited for MVC (Model-View-Controller) implementation which requires clear SOC or Separation of Concerns between data, representation and behavior. In PHP, the language syntax and HTML often get mixed inside the HTML files that leads to poor coding where business logic and views are not clearly separated.

2. Old fashioned Client-Server Model
PHP adheres to the traditional client-server model in which each and every page request leads to database linking, application commencement, HTML rendering and configuration strictures. It makes PHP slower when equated to Node.js applications that tend to route enduringly and have to be initialized only once.
As both Node.js and PHP have their strong and weak points, it is important that you consider the specific aspects of your project to decide which one would be the best for you. While Node.js is suitable for RTAs and SPAs, PHP is more suited for blogs, web portals, landing page, news sites and eCommerce portals. It is important that you consider the Node.js vs. PHP aspects that are discussed above as they can definitely help you to make a wise decision. Once you have chosen the right one to go with, you can have greater flexibility in deciding on the budget.

Drupal 8 Is Not A CMS, It’s CMF

https://solaceinfotech.com/blog/drupal-8-is-not-a-cms-its-cmf/
Drupal is a scalable, open platform for web content and digital experiences management. It is a free platform written in PHP and distributed under the General Public License. It provides profound capabilities and endless flexibility on the web. Initially, we were also installing and configuring Drupal, creating content types, menus, views, taxonomy etc. to create not just beautiful but secured and performing websites.
When JS framework and decoupling came to the market, we coordinated AngularJS with Drupal to create more user-friendly websites. This blog is about – Drupal is CMS or CMF? To know this, first of all see What is CMS and What is CMF?
CMS-
A content management system (CMS) is a computer program which allows publishing, editing and modifying content on a web site as well as maintenance from a central page. A content management system, should be ready to go right out of the limit- something that non-developer can easily setup to use. The main purpose of the CMS is to manage the content( For eg., WordPress).
CMF-
A content management framework (CMF) is a system that facilitates the use of reusable components or customized software for managing web content. A CMF is more like a box of Legos. It could be used to make something very simple, or in the hands of an expert, it could be used to make something VERY complicated.
One of the popular views of a CMF is that, it has to be based on MVC(Model, Views, Controller) architecture. For eg., CodeIgniter, CakePHP.
CMS vs CMF-
In about 2001 Dries Buytaert released Drupal. It began similarly as a simple forum software. However, thanks to the invention of the Node, it quickly evolved from there.
Until Version 4.6, Drupal was still a Node management system or a CMS.
But then something changed…
In Version 4.7, Drupal now had the ability of two awesome Modules called CCK and Views. This was the real turning point for Drupal. This was a point, when it stopped being a CMS and starting to become a true Framework.
This is when all these pre-defined Nodes started being replaced with “text-fields” and “date-fields” and “image-fields“. No longer were we confined to using a pre-built solution, we were instead encouraged to build our own. From few years with Drupal 8, you can see that transformation is almost complete.
Never again will you discover Recipe Modules for download. The expectation for Drupal these days is that you will build your own content.
Compatible modules or functionality to call it a CMF-
1. Exchange of relevant data-
It is helpful to reuse the data on numerous applications, after feeding it once on a single application. Whereas the creation of content is a tedious, time-consuming and costly task. Based on the requirement, whole or sub-set of data can be exchanged within numerous applications. One of the most important benefits of Drupal for exchanging the data is Feeds. These feeds are used to import data, while Views with JSON or XML format output helps to export or provide the required data to third-party applications. Out of the box modules that integrate with various Geolocation tools, Payment Services, Social Networks, CRM, ERP and many other open standards are also available in Drupal.
2. Third party authentication-
For any application, the users’ journey begins with sign-up and login so that users can access the authorized content.
Nowadays, where everything is available just on click, sign-up and login should be quick and easy. So, now almost each application provides a social media login or SSO so that their users can access the authorized content or sub-domain or sub-sites. This authentication process must be secure while being quick. Various authentication modules are available on Drupal like Google authentication, Social Media sign-ins etc. Apart from this, customization can also be done using Authentication API, RESTful web services API for 3rd party application sign-ins.
3. Subscription or user type based Access control-
Content authoring and publishing requires a workflow and necessary permission to access the draft or review content. An access control of data also vary based on subscription for the end user or any third-party consumer. Roles and permissions gives access control which is more than enough, however, the Workflow and Rules module can be configured for particular access requirements. Higher customization can be done if required as RESTful web services API are part of Drupal core.
4. Having large numbers of users-
If the time required to produce and give the result to the end-user is minimum, then the framework will engage more users. Also caching the result or data is the best part to solve this purpose.
Drupal provides multiple caching for blocks, pages etc. and also it is quite intelligent. Drupal has a benefit of setting the cache timer which require special access permission to the end user. For eg., About us page or most popular articles block can be cached from a few hours to days. Whereas, latest Tweets or Facebook posts to be cached only for 15 Mins to a few hours only. This can be increased using Memcache, Varnish, APC or PHP 7 opcode cache.
5. Integration with JS Framework like Angular, React-
Drupal provides flexibility to apply animation to represent data, also have desired look and feel for the same block or change and update it whenever required.
JS framework can be integrated by using libraries and tweaking the template file. However, to make it easier now Drupal is looking to adopt React. This implies the application can use the best of both worlds. Where Drupal will provide the user, content management, and workflow. Also, by using feed, REST APIs or views (as mentioned above) the representation of data can be beautify using JS frameworks.
6. Quick turnaround for production setup-
Out of the limitations, distributions are available on Drupal to develop basic commerce or social media sites. Due to this, developing a basic commerce site would only take a few days.
Configuration Management System, Distribution (installation profiles) help for a quick turnaround along with the features, hook_install, and devel module to create dummy data (If required). As a result, this helps in creating multiple instances of the same site.
7. E2E and automated testing-
Automation also helps in test coverage, data-driven testing, and performing different types of testing such as Functional, Regression, Smoke, API, etc. – both, efficiently and effectively.
This is possible because of simpletest, an integral part of Drupal that requires the developer to write test files at the time of module writing so that any changes in the modules can be verified then and there; and is largely used for Behavior Driven Development. Thereby, saving a lot of time and cost.
Conclusion-
Considering these benefits Drupal provides, it is more than a CMS, it is a CMF.

However, once our PHP team at It Outsourcing China was attempting to maneuver to Laravel from Yii2, they came across many facts that can’t be unmarked. This brings us the subject Laravel vs Yii : facts to understand today!
We believe that the most plan behind using any tool or a framework is to induce your task wiped out the simplest potential manner. We area unit using Yii & Yii2 for concerning 3 years and began operating in Laravel since the last year. Yii2 expertise was sensible, however before beginning to work on Laravel, we got the sensation that it would be much more smarter framework than Yii.
However, here is our expertise. We found the following Five differences whereas researching on Laravel vs Yii –
1) VALIDATION Laravel vs Yii
Laravel : No scenario primarily based validation is available in default package of Laravel. It doesn't offer any construct to validate a model at totally different situations. Moreover, there's no way to outline fillable attributes supported situation. You may got to custom code everything.
Yii : Each massive assignment of model from the request parameters and its validation is done supported situation.
2) CLIENT SIDE VALIDATION Laravel vs Yii
Laravel : No default support is accessible on Laravel.
Yii : Provides out of box client side (JavaScript) validation of the shape. You would like to outline only one set of rules of the model for validation in server side and shopper side.
3) ROUTING Yii vs Laravel
Laravel : We are suppose to declare route to every and each action altogether controllers. We discover its quite odd !! Besides why protected operate of controller is being accessed from outside if provided in route. Somehow we believe that it should be task of framework to produce default routing. Even CodeIgniter provides it !! Though we convey Laravel for providing Resource Routing.
Yii : Easy routing is feasible as we don’t want mention route to every and each action. Route of actions are pickup by default. This same is that the case of CodeIgniter also.
4) CRUD GENERATION Laravel vs Yii2
Laravel : No default support. several comes have admin panel for CRUD practicality from numerous tables.
Yii: Yii2 includes a handy tool, named Gii, that gives speedy prototyping by generating usually used code snippets also as complete CRUD controllers.
Gii provides a Web-based interface for you to interactively generate the code you want. It also provides a instruction interface for folks that favor to work with their console windows most of the time.
5) DOCUMENTATION Yii vs Laravel
Laravel : Laravel has the simplest documentation as expected. However, we personally believe the documentation may are organized higher and written in a very additional generic manner as once you produce a giant issue, you increase the probabilities of creating loopholes.
Yii: On the opposite hand, though Yii doesn't have a awfully strong documentation like Laravel still it’s pretty organized. Moreover, it doesn't features a steep learning curve. If you're only following the docs you can simply begin with basic secret writing.
CONCLUSION:
In the war of Laravel vs Yii, there's little question that Laravel is that the largest used PHP framework in recent times and offers you various features to decide on from. If you're trying attempt an outsized scale web application or an enterprise grade app then Laravel is that the most suitable option you'll be able to make. However, if you're looking for a framework that provides easy development opportunity and your goal is to develop small to medium grade applications then Yii2 is your cut.

Evidence of talent.
Choosing a web developer seems to be quite the subjective experience.
In an effort to put your minds at ease, choosing me as web developer, has its perks. It’s easy to say, “I’m really good at this.” but it leaves EVERYTHING to the imagination.
In this post, I’ll bring evidence of my abilities to the table, so that even if you have no idea what some of these things are, you'll be able to at the least, recognize that you’re working with somebody who is relatively among the top developers in the world.
A brief list of expectations regarding my abilities as a web developer would be
Platform Awareness
System Performance
System Security
User Experience
Common Technologies
Practical Development
Social Skills
1. Platform Awareness
Things aren’t always what they seem. Sort of like a rule number 1 when it comes to persuasion, and boy is it easy to miss the first step. If I say, “I’m really good at this”, it would commonly be assumed that I know what “this” means, what I’m supposedly really good at.
The web is more than just a browser. More than HTML code. It’s more than a server and more than server-side technology like programming languages and files and databases. The internet was built upon standards, and there are standards for everything. It'd be pretty boring and likely wouldn’t get finished, if I was to start listing them out. However, knowing they are there, what they are, how they are to be enforced, etc.. These can generally come pretty easy to an experienced developer. Some of the more important standards for my field of web development and server administration would be the IANA, ICANN and IETF relate to IP Address, Domains, Network Stabilities, and the overall coordinated evolution of the internet. Others that could be viewed as more specific to the field of web development, and thus easily mentionable by the “developer awareness” would easily be standards by W3, otherwise known as the World Wide Web Consortium, and even ECMAScript, which evolved into the standards of the modern-day JavaScript.
2. Practical Development
Maybe the fact of the matter is step 1 is more or less, okay to be considered an optional step. Practical development seems like it could pretty easily be mistaken for step 1. Maybe you feel comfortable, I know these standards pretty well. Can I actually do the work? Maybe you have a project that involves a feature or two, which you haven’t seen in my portfolio or elsewhere.
How can you know I’m actually able to develop it? The process I use.
Like most other work, a robot could probably do it. It’s safe to say that many do, but we’ll get into that next. The fact of the matter is, that if I can’t explain the process (preferably standardized, am I right?) for the job, how can you be sure I will even know where to start!
A practical developer, can tell you what processes they may or may not take, dependent on the environment and assigned tasks. Regardless of how complex or simple they may sound it out to be. This is probably why the less you understand about what your developers try to tell you about, the more talented they are at what they’re doing.
3. Common Technologies
It’s all well and good to be standard-conscious and practical in your abilities. Without them, common technologies could very easily dissolve your vision of being talented. What I mean by common technologies in this case, is software like WordPress, Weebly, and other CMS tools; or CodeIgniter/Symfony, Laravel, and other system frameworks.
If your web developer isn’t familiar with a technology you consider common, this could very well be a red-flag in terms of their abilities, or it could be a false alarm. It’s not so black-and-white to say that if they can’t understand some of the code built into what could be recognized as the most powerful tools available, then they can’t achieve what you want, likely using some other system, but certainly they wouldn’t be so opposed to looking into it on your behalf, if you so desire, it is your website or responsibility after all.
4. System Security
Probably one of the more curious topics, talking about security for me, is like a temptation waiting to happen. The ability to hack, and the ability to protect from hackers are pretty synonymous topics, yet very different in how they are performed and achieved. One might say they’re like both sides of the yin and yang.
And when it comes to a talented developer, they won’t likely be afraid to discuss the fine-lines they’ve experienced in their time. Then again... But is it really about the fine-lines?
Security practices in development, focus on input/output and authorization. These are a practicality of a web developer. The reality is, if can explain the processes they take to achieve a secure environment, and those processes don’t include double and triple-checking said practical areas, then your software very, very likely, isn’t going to be secure.
5. System Performance
If my website is a big deal, I’m talking high-traffic like, a social media website, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, stuff like that; A one-man team is likely not the route you’re going, but even a small website should utilize standardized practices for system performance. The reason I bring this up as an expectation isn’t because your “not a big deal” website, could be under the administration of somebody who really doesn’t know much about what they’re doing.
If you were to open your websites code and ask your web developer a few questions:
What language are you looking at?
What scope(s) are a certain chunk of code working to?
When is it more effective to use a threaded snippet against using a non-threaded snippet?
Understanding how the system performs, is effectively being able to “know” what you’re talking about.
6. User Experience
Did you read about System Performance? The part about understanding how systems perform and how that understanding can essentially prove a developer knows what they’re talking about?
Yeah, that’s until the residual checks start coming in. To put it bluntly, a developer could know everything about programming, but the tools they make can be impractical, simply because of the experience it requires to perform what’s expected; Well that just goes to show that as much as they know about coding, they know that much less about serving others vs themselves.
Selfishness can show up in the most unlikely of places, however the “good experiences” we prefer to have throughout life, can be hindered especially by a web developer.
If your website is unpleasant to look at, use or even load, you are worsening and otherwise good experience. It’s not always about knowing what to look for, as it is knowing what you would want out of it, if it were yours.
7. Social Skills
Last, we come to something you probably wouldn’t expect. Social skills aren’t likely what you would think to look for in a web developer. And that’s simply because most web developers aren’t seen to have them. Be it their mannerisms, or attitude. Even their portfolio. Web developers are scrutinized for their poor communication skills, and yet those who seem to struggle communicating are often more talented as developers.
Seems to me the real problem is, if they can’t communicate, somebody can’t get their vision across. And rightfully so.
If the client doesn’t know what they want, it should be expected that the developer can then “use their social skills” to help. Likewise, if the developer can’t understand what the clients vision is, the developer should be able to “use their social skills” to problem-solve the situation.
Therefore, social skills shouldn’t necessarily be exclusive to “communication”, but can very much so, be an expectation that a good developer can at the very least reference just one satisfied client, even if that client, is themselves, and no client at all. Every “developer” has “developed” SOMETHING. Complete or incomplete. The most common SOMETHING you’ll probably see developed is the “Hello World” output. The developers first step in successfully installing and using a programming language, is usually linked to this, I call it a pseudo-phenomenon.
