Comfort Me: I’ll write a drabble about my character comforting yours

William held Emily in his arms as he tried to rock her tosleep yet again. It was his turn and even though he had an early start he foundhimself not minding as he looked down at his daughter. She was so small…soyoung…so brand new. He would moan and complain in the morning for lack of sleepbut it wasn’t really a problem. He’d do anything to keep her happy and safe. Hepaced around the room, rocking her and humming nursery rhymes for nearly anhour before she finally drifted off. He smiled, glad that this was nowsomething he was meant to do. Comfort his daughter.

First days of school were always stressful. He couldremember his keenly and there was nothing anyone could offer him to make himrepeat the experience. Emily looked so grown up in her little outfit with herbag but he could tell she wasn’t too happy about this. “Hey Em, When you getback you’ll have to tell me all about it. It’s going to be so much fun!” Hesaid, trying to be reassuring as he crouched down, a hand placed on hershoulder, a gentle smile on his face. He managed to get a smile back and he wasglad, happy to be able to comfort her.

Having to leave for Westworld for a month was something hehad tried to avoid but business was business and he had convinced himself thatthis trip was necessary. Emily was 14 and while in many ways she was so verygrown up, in others she wasn’t. The nonchalant shrugs and avoidance tacticswere ones he knew all too well and he knew he couldn’t just leave withouttrying to make this seem less like him abandoning her and Juliet. “Hey Em, whenI get back I’ll tell you all about it I promise.” He said, reaching out to holdher shoulder, hoping it would help. She shrugged it off and he nodded, awarethat sometimes the job of comforting his daughter was just something he couldn’t do.

The funeral was horrendous. The death of his wife was enoughbut the seething rage directed his way from Emily was almost worse. Yes he knewhe had failed them, had spent too much time for himself and not for his family.He couldn’t fathom Juliet choosing to leave Emily but there was no otherrational explanation for what he saw. He wanted to reach out, speak to Emily, tryto explain that he’d step up, be there for her. But she was an adult now, grownup and it was no longer his job to comfort his daughter.

A way overdue life update

Okay, obviously I haven’t been writing much if at all lately. I’m a full time film student at the moment and I’ve spent the first 3 months of 2019 drowning in production design mockups and pre-production on 2 films + my weekends have been crewing on other films & location scouting (or just literally trying to storyboard and production design and not drown). I’ve barely had time to even write anything outside of Tumblr I have about 6 pilot ideas I want to write for my portfolio but I just do not have the time or energy by the time I get home. On top of all of this, Tumblr makes my anxiety worse so I’ve been trying to stay away for my mental health.

Because of this, I’ve decided that moving forward I’m putting all my blogs on an indefinite hiatus except for @burnedkingdom my ASOIAF multimuse, which I’ve recently revived on a low-activity hopefully low-stress basis, if you’re seeing this message & still wanna write hmu over there or on discord ( brea#5926 ). I’m notoriously terrible at overcommitting myself but I do miss the rpc and don’t want to totally remove myself from it. For a while I was considering deleting all my blogs but honestly I’ve worked too hard on them and I don’t want to do that.

I’m going to be reblogging this same note across all my blogs, but I just wanted to throw out some specific notes for a few of my accs:

For my mutuals over @stellarstolen: I love Maia a whole tone, but for some reason she’s the muse that gives me the worse anxiety and being on her dash for five minutes brings my mood way down. The last 2 years I’ve come back for the new season, however I have no intention of doing that this year. Maybe I’ll be back in the future (I love you all too much to stay away forever), but I really just have too much on my plate to deal with Maia right now. Thank you guys for being amazing (special shout out to Lenee & Yuffie <3333 ) it’s been a wild ride.

@ all my WW babies on @codeminded: WOW OK some of y’all *coughtrip&haleycough* have been around since Emily was Beth and then watched me fight becoming canon complaint (and eventually fail at that too lmaooo). I love you guys and our gc, I’ll probably be back with s3 rolls around but right now I’m still too disillusioned w/ s2 but ily.

The mutlifandom crossover mess that is @arzodae: I honestly love every character on this blog & how no one knows what books they’re from but it’s FINE I’m fine. I don’t doubt that I’ll be back on this blog at some point, ya girl spent too much time on her crossover verse bios to not revive it. For my SOA/Mayans bbys, I’ll be back for Mayans s2 I already know it, my Hanna muse is always hanging around and Liana rly never got a chance before I peaced out. @ my marvel bbys: I literally love my marvel verses so much I know I’m gonna end up showing back up for those too. ALSO @ my ASOIAF babes: if you like Cyra’s ASOIAF verse: I’ve moved it over to @burnedkingdom & changed her into Jalani (but it’s literally the same backstory as Cyra’s verse just expanded).

Lastly @silvcrbow & @incruentum: I never rly got going on these two as much as I would have wanted but I also loveeee all the people I met on them. Even if we never got to write together as much as I would have wanted I love u all.

Holy Shit.

What do you mean it’s been a year since I adopted started writing the Dumpster King?  Also why the hell are there 100+ of y’all following me wtf.  Anyways what I’m trying to say is that there’s a high key need to do something before this month gets too fucking wild and I forget cuz y’all are awesome and I love you all so dearly omg.  It’s been a fucking trip watching this fandom grow from like, active members being able to be counted on my fingers (probably one hand if I’m dead honest) to seeing more blogs and enthusiastic people crop up by the day.  It’s wild and exciting, let me tell you.

I want to thank every one of you for being so awesome and making this such a memorable time for me.  Logan’s my first canon character I’ve ever written for any extended length of time (think more than 2-4 weeks) and thanks to you guys, it’s been absolutely awesome to see how he grows and expands past what canon gives us.  I really would not have been able to do this on my own.

I want to give a very very special shoutout to @polyphoniie/ @flame-of-ostwick because honestly without Haley, I would have never picked up Logan to begin with and he wouldn’t be half of who he is now if it weren’t for her.  Without his interactions with your Dolores, I would have struggled a whole lot more trying to find his voice.  Without Lasair and your Juliet, I would probably still be struggling with who he is outside of Westworld.  Most of my headcanons are ones I’ve bounced off you first, and Lasair and Juliet have really helped him grow as a character and person and honestly I cannot thank you enough for that as well as your friendship and support.
