ANZAC 2022
Tumblr media
OTD
The then Duchess of Cambridge attended the ANZAC service. Jewels from Princess Diana were present - The Collingwood earrings.
Tumblr media
These diamond and pearl drop earrings are ultimate classics: absolutely timeless, perfectly versatile, and endlessly useful. The earrings feature a round diamond stud, from which is suspended an additional round diamond and a bell cap set with three more rows of small diamonds. The bell caps each contain a lovely pearl drop. ~ The Court Jeweller
Tumblr media
The Duchess also wore a new brooch, suspected to be a piece from Robinson Pelham. A jeweller who also designed the earrings Catherine wore on her wedding day.

Yellow gold aquamarine rings

Occasionally she was photographed wearing both rings on her left hand. The rings remained in the Princess's collection but were rarely seen in public during her marriage. Īt formal occasions, such as banquets, the Princess normally wore jewellery lent to her by the Queen, who owned more than 300 items of jewellery. She also had a vast collection of gold accessories which often went unnoticed and became understated by the media. Most of the jewellery dates from the 19th and 20th centuries. Her jewellery was a mix of precious stones and costume pieces, which she sourced from London's Butler & Wilson, often reported by the media as being "priceless" jewels, which the Princess found amusing. Most of her jewels were either presents from foreign royalty, on loan from Elizabeth II, wedding presents, purchased by Diana herself, or heirlooms belonging to the Spencer family. These were separate from the coronation and state regalia of the Crown Jewels. in June 1997ĭiana, Princess of Wales, the first wife of Prince Charles (now Charles III), and mother of Prince William and Prince Harry, owned a collection of jewels, both as a member of the British royal family and as a private individual. Catherine Princess of Wales 2022
The new Princess of Wales, was photographed wearing a brooch owned by the late monarch on Wednesday as she made her way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, where a service was held in honor of Queen Elizabeth II, reported Lauren Kiehna, writer & editor of The Court Jeweller.
As shown in a photo shared by The Court Jeweller, the Queen wore the diamond and pearl leaf brooch in Seoul on April 21, 1999, affixed to a yellow ensemble with a white print. She accessorized her royal glamour further with three pearl necklaces.
Along with the special brooch, Kate was pictured Wednesday wearing her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's Collingwood pearl drop earrings, Kiehna reported.

WALK WALK FASHION BABY | For her surprise appearance at the 2022 ANZAC service, the Duchess of Cambridge rewore the Alexander McQueen coatdress, first worn at Princess Charlotte's christening, as well as at the 2016 Trooping the Colour and the 2017 memorial service for the Battle of Passchendaele. She also wore a new headband from Jane Taylor, the "Calypso Halo", and rewore her Gianvito Rossi heels. She also carried her Jenny Packham "Roxy" clutch. Catherine wore Diana's Collingwood pearl drop earrings, as well as a new fern brooch, possibly from Robinson Pelham. Her red poppy, while similar to the RBL poppy worn during the November Remembrance events, is actually an RSA (the New Zealand Returned and Services Association) poppy.

You need to take this story with a big, big grain of salt. This might be one of the reasons Meghan was banned from any of the family jewelry, Diana's things especially.
On the day of Archie's christening, William and Catherine were talking to the Spencer sisters and one of them pointed out how Catherine is wearing the same earrings Diana wore for the time Harry was christened. The earrings in question are the Collingwood pearl drop earrings. Meghan was yet not aware of this fact as this point in the story. After the ceremony
Daisy van Straubenzee, Thomas Van Straubenzee's wife (he is Archie's alledged godfather) said that Catherine looked amazing after 3 babies and that she hopes she will look that good after having children. Meghan lost it here and walked out off the room and the Spencer sisters and her mother went to calm her down. At this point, one of them mentioned that Catherine wears the earrings as a gesture of kindness (the Cambridges and Sussexes weren't on speaking terms by now) and Meghan got even worse. After they calmed her down, they took the cursed picture which is why everyone looks unwilling to be there. Meghan leaked only that Catherine wore the earrings to the press and how she should have worn them and this got to William who put an end to the jewelry.
Grain of salt, please!
Thank you. Personally I think William put an end to any jewelry loans after Tiara gate.

Diplomatic Corps Reception Through the Years
In preparation for the Diplomatic Corps Reception on the 11th of December this year, I’m going to walk down memory lane to see Kate’s sartorial style at these white tie events over the years and drool over the jewelry. I’ll be focusing on the Diplomatic Corps Reception only (DCR), not state banquets. Things are going to be a little jumbled as Kate often rewore her gowns in those first few years and we hardly ever got pictures inside the reception until these past two years or so.
2013
Tumblr media
This was the Duchess of Cambridge’s first tiara event sine her wedding and I think Catherine surprised every one by NOT wearing her wedding tiara. For many royal brides the wedding tiara loaned from the Queen is their go-to tiara for many, many years. For example, Diana was only ever loaned the Lovers Knot. Sarah was given the York Tiara only. Sophie wore her wedding tiara for years before she was loaned another. So it was surprising but it was a pleasant surprise. Here Catherine is wearing the Lotus Flower tiara, a favorite of Princess Margaret. It’s a beautiful tiara to shift into after wearing the smaller Cartier Halo Tiara. The Lotus flower tiara is small and dainty yet with just enough height to give it some oompf.
Tumblr media
Catherine paired the tiara with Chandelier drop earrings on loan from the Queen. There aren’t any good pictures of the dress (from 2013 at least) but it’s Alexander McQueen.
2015
Tumblr media
In 2014, the Cambridges were in New York and missed the DCR. So we’re jumping ahead to 2015 where Kate wears the same dress with the first good picture of it but with another new tiara. I think every royal watcher collectively gasped when we saw she was wearing the Lovers Knot tiara. If I recall correctly, this was her first time wearing it. Even though she wore the same dress and that was a little disappointing, the jewelry more than made up for it.
Tumblr media
With the tiara Catherine wore the Queen’s chandelier drop earrings and TWO diamond bracelets. You can hardly see it but she is in fact wearing a diamond bracelet on her right hand. I’m not sure which is on which hand but on one hand she’s wearing the Queen Mary Diamond Bar Choker bracelet, below.
Tumblr media
And the other hand she’s wearing the Queen’s Wedding gift bracelet, a bracelet made from a tiara that belonged to Princess Alice of Battenburg that Phillip broke apart and rearranged.
Tumblr media
2016
Tumblr media
2016 was the first year we got a full shot of everyone at the DCR, a rare gift. Since you can’t really see Kate, here’s another shot zoomed in.
Tumblr media
We have Catherine in the Lovers Knot tiara again, diamond pendant earrings on loan from the Queen, and it looks like the bracelet is the Queen’s Wedding gift bracelet. The red dress is Jenny Packham and is a rewear from the State Banquet for China in 2015.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2017
Tumblr media
We did not get full shots inside the DCR in 2017 which was a bummer because I STILL want to see this dress the DOC wore but it was reported the gown was Jenny Packham. For jewelry, Catherine pulled out the Lovers Knot tiara again and paired it with Diana’s Collingwood pearl earrings. But the show stopper this year was the diamond collet necklace on loan from the Queen. HMTQ has a few collet necklaces in her collection but the issue with these are, we never know which one someone is wearing because they’re literally just strands of diamonds and they all look alike. But it’s gorgeous and I would LOVE to see Catherine wear it again.
2018
Tumblr media
2018 was my favorite year! Catherine literally LOOKS like a princess. This beautiful Cinderella dress is by Jenny Packham and pinned to it on a yellow ribbon is the Royal Family order. This marks the 2nd time Kate has ever worn it. Paired with the tiara are Diana’s Collingwood pearl earrings and it looks like Catherine is wearing Queen Mary’s Diamond Bar Choker bracelet. No ID on the bag, sorry. This is seriously my favorite white tie look of Catherine’s. In two days time we’ll see if she can top this look in my books.
Thanks for reading all! That’s a wrap on the DCR looks through the years.
