Hair Care Tips From Professional Stylists
Tumblr media
Do you want to have salon perfect hair every day? It's possible when you follow the tips and advice from your stylist, or when you use the following hair care tips from professional stylists. You may think that your hair is just "there" and that as long as you get it cut into a certain style and keep it clean and conditioned it will always look great. In fact, there are many factors of your everyday life that can affect your hair and can cause even a great cut to look terrible.
Here are some professional tips to keep your locks looking their best.
Strip Product Buildup
At least once a month, use a vinegar rinse on your hair after you shampoo to remove styling product buildup that can cause your hair to appear dull and lifeless. Vinegar is a natural product that will lift away the buildup from each strand without drying or damaging your hair or hair color.
My First Recommend:- Click Here>>>
Get Hair Cuts
Even if you are in the process of going from a short style to a longer style, make sure you visit your stylist every 6 weeks for a shape up trim to keep you from having that terrible growing out stage where your hair just looks shaggy.
Drink Water and Eat Healthy
The vitamins and minerals you ingest as well as the amount of water you drink do affect the health of your hair and can either improve or stunt the growth process. The healthier you are, the healthier your hair will be.
Protect Your Hair
We all know that the sun can be bad for our skin, but it can also damage your hair. So can chemicals and water treatments like chlorine in a swimming pool. Before swimming apply a thick coat of hair oil, and leave it in your hair. This will help repel the chemicals and keep them from interacting with your color or causing your hair to dry out. There are several leave-in conditioner products that will also help protect your hair from the sun.
Avoid Heated Styling Tools
Heated tools such as flat irons, blow dryers and curling irons damage your hair. When possible let your hair air dry and don't style it. Even if it's only once a week, this can help the condition of your hair.
In between visits to the salon, taking care of your hair will make you not only look better but will also make your stylist's job easier and can save you a lot of money on deep conditioning treatments. You certainly don't want to put off a coloring because your hair is so damaged

Hair Hacks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you cannot save your dead ends and the hair product industry is selling you lies. Get yourself an appointment and cut off the split ends! I'm a long hair girl myself so growing my hair is my ultimate goal, but not for the price of having damaged hair because in my honest opinion: healthy hair > long hair.
Personally I prefer natural colored hair but if you are into hair dye treat yourself (and especially your hair with moisturizing products).
Oiling your hair is key to shiny and healthy hair and you should do it regularly (create your own oil it's so much fun)
for the non curly girls: brush your hair daily but gently
apply a hair mask 2x a week
use gentle hair ties for overnight braids
don't wash your hair with too hot water and rinse with cold water, rice water, etc.
avoid tight hair styles
use heat protection and stop applying to much heat
do scalp massages to stimulate hair growth
use a claw clip instead of hair ties
use sulfate free shampoo only
invest in silk pillow cases (game changer but it took me some time to get used to it)
wash your brushes (could be a major factor for greasy hair)
do not over touch your hair
conditioner only belongs on the ends
use a microfibre towel or old t-shirt to dry your hair after showering
wash your hair 1-3 per week depending on your hair type

Omgggg Charlie. I love her. Could I please get a fluff piece of Joel having a cute little night in with her when she is tiny - mom is on patrol shift. It’s just him and nugget Charlie at home, him cooking, doing bathtime and doing HER LITTLE CURLY HAIR and just reminiscing about being a girl dad again
Charlotte Sometimes
Pairing: Joel Miller x fem!reader
Summary: “Maybe our world will grow kinder eventually. Maybe the desire to make something beautiful is the piece of God that is inside each of us.” — Mary Oliver, from “Frank Marc’s Blue Horses” aka this ask [1.4k]
Warnings: talks of Tess and Sarah, Joel being the softest girl dad in the world, chronic pain, marital bliss
Tumblr media
Joel never took care of his hair. Before the Outbreak, all his knowledge about hair was learned to protect Sarah's hair. Thanks to a lovely woman he met at Sarah's daycare, he learned about bonnets, leave-in conditioners, braids, and so much more. Joel would often come home from work with cracked and exhausted hands, but that all got washed away when Sarah sat in front of him with combs, sweet-smelling products, and hair ties. They'd listen to music together, talk about their days, and laugh as Joel worked his Dad Magic. Spending time caring for his daughter's hair was his form of meditation.
After the Outbreak, he couldn't even look in the direction of the shitty FEDRA shampoo and conditioner without feeling pieces of him crumble and splinter like the face of his watch. He was always a rinse-and-go kind of guy, but especially so once he settled in Boston. There was always somewhere to go, something to do. He didn't have time to be alone with his thoughts, and he didn't want to. Tess washed his hair for him when he broke his arm during a shake-down. "You're killing me, Texas," she said when she brushed his hair back. She was the first person who ever cared for him the way he cared for Sarah. And it scared the shit out of him. Still, even after all those years, he remembers how she called him Texas and gave his malnourished strands attention. He remembers how she reminded him of that soft, vulnerable part of himself, and he buried it as deep as he could until he met you.
Joel never cared about his hair until Charlie was born with identical ringlets and wave patterns. The Miller Curls is the affectionate name for it. Everyone in the Miller family has had some version of The Miller Curls. Joel and Tommy's mom passed it down to the boys, and then the boys passed it down to their kids. Sarah and Camille have a scarily similar curl pattern, and Joel has given Tommy all the help to nourish her hair. So when you first noticed the tight curls forming on Charlie's head, you let Joel take the reins.
By the time she's three, they have their own routine. Once a week, you work a night patrol shift with Maria or Ellie, sometimes Tommy, and he makes dinner. He usually makes more than is necessary for just three people, so you can take leftovers to Ellie or whoever you're working with that night, and you leave home with a full belly, Tupperware, and kisses from your favorite people. The second you're out the door, it's over.
They chase each other around the house, color on the floor, sing loudly to whatever's spinning on the record player, and play guitar together. Well, Joel plays guitar, and Charlie just kinda makes up songs and dances. He strums to keep time with her, but she interrupts him with laughter and requests for new songs. Tonight, it's "Mommy's Song," which is what she calls your favorite Beatles song. When the sun gets low, they pick up the living room together, and Joel carries Charlie upstairs to take a bath.
He takes his time washing the marker off her hands, brushing the tangles out, and shampooing and conditioning her hair. Once she's out and in her pajamas, she sits in front of Joel and hands him the products he asks for: leave-in conditioner, spray, and cream to hold her curls. Maria and a few other parents in Jackson made their own stuff and taught Joel how to mix different oils and herbs to strengthen and condition her hair. It gives him a sense of pride, knowing he can take that extra step to show how much he cares for her. When he's done with the products, he lightly scrunches and wraps stray pieces around his finger to encourage the curl formation.
By the end of their routine, Charlie is nodding off, her cheek smushing against Joel's knee. "Let's get you to bed, baby girl." He murmurs as he kisses the top of her head and carefully picks her up. She buries her face in his neck and wraps her arms around his shoulders, feeling nothing but safety and love as she falls asleep on him.
When he lays her down in her bed, she doesn't immediately let go of him. She groggily blinks her eyes open to look at Joel in the moonlight shining through her window and smiles. "I love you, Daddy," she yawns and kisses his cheek. "I love when you do my hair, too." It's the last thing she gets out before rolling over in bed and closing her eyes. Joel sits there, as starstruck as the day she was born, and has to take a deep breath to stop himself from crying.
"I love you, too, Charlotte." He says, but she can't hear him. He tucks her in a little tighter and kisses her temple again before leaving her room.
When you get home from patrol, he's asleep on the couch, snoring with his arms crossed over his chest. You've told him repeatedly that he doesn't have to wait up for you, that you'll see him in the morning or when you crawl into bed. Nearly four years of marriage, and he still doesn't listen to you. You walk over to the back of the couch and push his hair out of his face to kiss his forehead, rousing him awake. He hums and lifts his arm to hold your hip. "If you keep falling asleep here, you're gonna fuck up your back." You whisper as he leans his head back to get a kiss.
"M'back's already fucked up." He says, his voice gravelly and deep from fatigue, and you laugh.
"You guys have a good night?"
"The best," he says. "She told me she loves when I do her hair."
"She did?" You gush, and he smiles softly. "I'm telling you, you've got a talent for that kinda thing." Joel Miller, hardened survivor and killer, has spent the last three years becoming a pro at handling his toddler's hair. There's a joke in there somewhere, but you're too tired to try and find it.
"How was patrol?" He asks, and you reach for your shoulder.
"All clear. I think I've gotta switch back to my handgun 'cause the shotgun is hurting my shoulder."
"Could be the cold, too."
"Could be how many times I've dislocated it."
"And that one time you caught a bullet right," he trails his hand up until his thumb can press into the thick scar tissue near your collarbone. "There." He says, and you hum. You sigh and pat Joel's chest before walking over to the coat rack and shrugging your jacket off, wincing as you do.
"Why don't you go to bed, and I'll join you after I take a shower?" You suggest, and an idea lights up his brain.
"Your shoulder gonna be alright?"
"I'll manage."
"Y'know..." he starts, standing from the couch and waltzing over to you. His hands snake around your waist, and you raise your eyebrows at him. "A very smart lady once told me I've got a talent for doin' hair."
"I think I remember hearing that." You tease.
"You gonna let me wash your hair for you, darlin'?" He asks, that stupid, sleepy southern drawl doing it for you every time, and you fight a smile. "To rest your shoulder, of course."
"Of course," you echo, squinting at him. You try to wrap your arms around his neck, but shooting pain stops you from getting very far. As much as you want to fight him and make him go to bed, you could also probably use the help. "You can wash my hair only if you promise to stop falling asleep on the couch when I'm on nights."
"You drive a hard bargain, Mrs. Miller."
"Mm." You hum. He pretends to think as his thumbs make soothing circles into your shirt.
"I promise to try and stop fallin' asleep on the couch."
"I'll take it."
"Yeah?" He asks, and you nod. He kisses you and your injured shoulder, a gentle, sleepy smile on his face the whole time before he leads you upstairs and to the bathroom that still smells of his homemade products and Jane's lotion.
Joel Miller never took care of his hair. At least, not until he had someone like you running your hands through it or daughters who needed him to care. Who would've thought that big, broody, dangerous man with the scar across his nose would be the same man to color on the floor with your baby or brush her curly hair or fall asleep on an uncomfortable couch just to make sure you got home safe?

Understanding Your Face Shape
Before diving into haircut trends, it's crucial to understand your face shape. Whether you have a round, oval, square, heart, or diamond-shaped face, certain hairstyles can accentuate your features while others may not flatter as much. For instance, those with a round face may opt for layered cuts to add dimension, while individuals with an oval face can experiment with various styles as most cuts suit this versatile shape.
Trendspotting in Dubai: What's Hot in Haircuts
Dubai's hairstyling scene is always buzzing with new trends and innovations. Currently, textured bobs, curtain bangs, and shaggy layers are making waves. Textured bobs offer a chic and low-maintenance look, while curtain bangs frame the face elegantly. Shaggy layers add volume and movement, perfect for those with thicker hair textures. Consultation with a stylist can help you determine which trend suits your hair type and lifestyle best.
The Art of Communication: Talking to Your Stylist
Effective communication with your stylist is key to achieving the haircut of your dreams. Be specific about your preferences, show reference photos if possible, and discuss your hair texture, maintenance routine, and desired outcome. A good stylist will listen attentively, offer expert advice, and collaborate with you to create a customized look that suits your personality and enhances your natural beauty.
Maintaining Your Haircut: Tips for Long-Lasting Style
Once you've got the perfect haircut and hair extension salon, maintaining its shape and style is essential. Regular trims every 6-8 weeks help prevent split ends and keep your hair looking fresh. Use quality hair care products recommended by your stylist, such as shampoos, conditioners, and styling tools suited for your hair type. Avoid excessive heat styling and protect your locks from sun damage with UV-protectant products.
Tips for Different Hair Textures
Each hair texture comes with its own set of challenges and styling possibilities. For fine hair, layers can add volume and movement, while thick hair benefits from thinning techniques to reduce bulkiness. Curly hair thrives with hydration and anti-frizz products, while straight hair can experiment with sleek styles or texturizing techniques for added dimension. Consultation with a stylist ensures personalized recommendations tailored to your hair's unique characteristics.
In the vibrant city of Dubai, hairstyling is more than just a service—it's an expression of individuality and confidence. With the guidance of top stylists, understanding haircut trends, effective communication, and proper maintenance, you can unlock the full potential of your hair and step out with a style that reflects your personality and makes heads turn. Trust in the artistry of Dubai's top stylists to bring your hair visions to life, one fabulous haircut at a time.

@lunarruled asked: 'Don't pretend that you cared about me.'
Dark and Angsty Sentence Starters
Bourbon and warm water hadn't ever felt so good. A steamy shower that soothed sore muscles, shampoo and soap that cleansed the body and nourished curly hair, Edwin's generousness that extended beyond a hot meal in a safe place. The CDC wasn't home, not by any stretch of the imagination, but Shane and all in the group knew that it was better than what was outside. What had been deep in those woods back where their camp used to lay - the gravesite to so many of their friends and family. Amy and Jim left amongst the fallout, Ed just as alone as he deserved to be, a meaningless heap of tissue, so many wonderful people buried in a makeshift cemetery. Fort Benning a distant dream, votes not cast in Shane's favor nor opinion, he would've rather had the CDC than another day of that hell that he had been living. Protected were those walls and the sole man within them. Powered by food and electricity, hole torn sleeping bags replaced by actual beds, pillows and blankets and more pillows, but more than happiness had the CDC encouraged.
Kyleigh and Shane had gotten into an argument. A disagreement that had started small, was no more important than any one thing that had been talked about at the dinner table, over the group's first real feast in days. Facts on the matter forgotten about just as soon as the whole ordeal was over, still was Shane hot about it minutes thereafter. Comment that passed over Jenner's lips as smoothly as his wine was sipped by them; a suggestion to Kyleigh that affected the one time deputy more than expected. An indication to something dark, the chance to end it all, if such a choice presented itself, a hint of secret that colored the doctor's voice too easily for Shane's liking. It was a strange remark to have been made. Unwanted, reason to make leave for Fort Benning all the more sweeter, almost urgent, after a quick retort passed over the stunned silence of dinner, he left from his seat at the table. Feet loud in their stomps away, heard from down the other hall.
Into the bath had Shane gone. Hoped to literally wipe his sorrows down the drain, rather instead took to the company of Jim Bean and drank until anger doubled. Bubbled and splattered all over the surface of his patience, clothes were hardly dressed into properly before he stormed into Kyleigh's room. Black khakis and a black belt with a silver buckle, blue button-down completely unbuttoned, hair still a little wet and dripping at its ends. And that was just how the conversation began. A door slam echoing in every corner of the CDC Georgia branch.
"Don't start that shit!"
Shane said, emotions unleashed in ways that they hadn't been before. Never in such a display for Kyleigh. "Don't you dare look at me and tell me that what you heard that doctor say was any sort of normal. No way! And don't you ever, ever tell me what I do and don't care about. I care about the folks in this damn place! I've risked my life to get them safe here!"
"God. You're such a..." Shane trailed, the glisten of tears shining in brown eyes.
"Yeah, alright. I didn't care about you. I didn't care about you the first time I laid eyes on you. I didn't care about you all the days thereafter when Rick said you were stayin' with us. Hell, I didn't even care about you when everybody else did and I was the odd man out. But let me tell you somethin', Ky. That changed. All those feelings, they're long gone now. You say that I pretend? You think that I don't care? Just stop it!"
Shane whispered, in a voice far more broken than it had ever sounded, chipped and cracked and desperate, "truth is, I care about you so much that it physically hurts. I love you... I'm in love with you, Kyleigh Marie Thompson."

Your hair is fantastic, I just started growing my hair out since I came out and have no idea how long hair works. Do you use anything other than shampoo and conditioner. Do you use any special brushes or..?
Thank you! I wish you lots of luck and happiness in your hair journey 🖤
So, what works for my hair might not work for yours, because different textures of hair have different needs. I have very dry hair, with a more oily scalp, and my hair is curly. I would recommend looking up hair texture charts online and finding what looks the most like your own hair, and seeing what people recommend for that texture. I think my hair is around a 2c or 3a, but a little straighter in some sections due to color/heat damage. Your hair texture might change while it grows out, or be difficult to identify while it’s still short! That’s perfectly normal.
In general, when growing hair long, the most important thing to remember is that you’re trying to preserve it. You’re trying to avoid damage and breakage. If your hair is constantly having to play catch up with the bits that are snapping off, it’s not going to grow as quickly or as long as you might like.
The main things I recommend are:
• Avoid shampoo and conditioners with sulfates in them, or 2-in-1 combination shampoos. This stuff is harsh on hair, and can contribute to split ends.
• Trim your ends! This might seem a bit counterintuitive at first, but this keeps away split ends. A clean, fresh cut isn’t going to slowly work it’s way up the hair stand and cause as much breakage as a split end will. You don’t need to trim very often, or take very much. 1/2 to 1 inch once every 1-3 months is fine when you’re first growing your hair out. I only trim my hair a few times a year.
• Avoid friction. Excessive friction can cause split ends; so I’d suggest letting your hair air dry rather than rubbing it dry with a towel (microfiber towels made especially for drying hair also exist, but I don’t use them cause’ my autistic ass would rather be bald than touch microfiber). If you can invest in a satin pillowcase, I recommend getting one! It’s gentler on hair than cotton. Satin bonnets also work as a nighttime protective barrier if you’d prefer. I’d also recommend brushing your hair while you’re in the shower, rather than when it’s dry. I find that the conditioner makes it really easy to detangle it then. Try to get your hands on a wide tooth comb, those are a life saver for gently detangling longer hair.
Other misc. products I use for my hair:
• After I shower, I apply a humectant to my hair with “scrunching” motions while it’s still sopping wet. The one I use is honey based. This helps my hair retain moisture, since my hair is usually really dry. After the humectant is well dispersed, I spread a small amount of oil meant for hair over the strands, focusing on the ends. This seals the humectant to the hair, softens it, and helps moisturize it. It also smells great. Sometimes I add other things, but this is the absolute bare bones, and is usually all my chronic fatigued ass can manage. Sometimes I don’t even bother lol. Do note that you might have to play around with different products and/or proportions, as product can weigh down your hair and make it feel gunky & greasy if you’re adding too much for your hair texture. Here are the products I use: x and x
• Sometimes when my hair is feeling very dry or frizzy between showers, I will smooth a very small amount of dry oil through it. Dry oils are things like argan and castor oil. When applying oils, it is best to only apply them to the ends of your hair, about midway down. I use my hands or a boar bristle brush. The ends of your hair are going to be the driest parts, since the scalp produces it’s own natural oils, and adding more will just make it feel heavy and greasy. This helps prevent breakage and split ends, moisturizes, and some people claim it even promotes hair growth. (If you apply hair oils to your scalp and let them sit for 15-30 mins before a shower, then shampoo and condition like normal, it will make your scalp feel soo clean and your hair will get really soft. I’ve already written you a whole essay by accident, so I definitely recommend researching scalp oiling further if it sounds interesting to you!).

Thanks for tagging me @lexiklecksi !!!
So I had to find the 5 words: crazy, flower, comfort, accusation, and deprivation in WIPs or other works. Unfortunately, my works have not used all of these words yet so I resorted to using synonyms and other tenses in some of the words. Here's what I found after using search in my archive:
1. CRAZY in Bad Alien Hair Day
Overview: Maya has bad hair problems. Really bizarre hair problems. You see, her hair can morph. It can turn short then long then curly or colored black to auburn to neon green using no wig, special shampoo, or treatment. To top it all off, it can move based on her emotions! (don't go telling her"it's all in your head" when she's mad and fired up or her crazy hair will strangle you.) But like any young adult girl, Maya has a crush. She has a crush on the pianist Jay and all she wants is to be able to confess to him. But how could she when every time she gets near him, her hair acts up and messes everything up?
2. FLOWER in Ice flowers: A Botanical Study
Ice flower seeds are black in color and have a hard, rough testa/covering. This covering protects the soft dark purplish core that holds the embryo. Seeds of ice flowers are sown in the heart. They live off of dark fear and thrive in rivers of sadness. Little prods of praise loosen their soil but disappointment will strengthen the roots and make the soil freeze solid to make a firm foundation.
3. COMFORT in Lisa Won't Use Her Magic!
Overview: Lisa is a normal working woman in the small town of Hollowville. She is twenty-five years old and has been working as a secretary in the town hall for five years now. But probably unlike normal people in their town, Lisa has a secret magic: she can erase her existence at will. Despite this, she faces everyday struggles without using this ability and finds the small comforts existing every day. Will she be able to avoid using her magic to the end?
4. ACCUSED in Circus Extraordinaire
The ex-circus performers watched the red hair as she paced back and forth across the cell. She would've looked funny, having her head and hands locked around a wooden board making strange noises and expressions. But no one dared to laugh. They knew that this red hair should not be messed with especially now that her face showed complete dissatisfaction.
Sabrina could not help it. After all, she had been wrongly accused, not once but twice in a day! One, by her family who refused to hear a word she says to defend herself. And now, by those mad tyrants who think they had all the right to jail whomever they suspect as circus performers whenever they want to.
They didn't even have any proof. Did they look at her hands if they were messed with the oil smeared all over that human-sized canon? No! Did they ask if anyone saw her wiping the glass of uncle Ben's stinky moldy tank? No! Did they check the area for any evidence of the culprit? No! Oh no, they did not.
5. DENYING in Her Next Life
"We can all see how much you treasure Lord Ja'shin. There's no use denying that. You sneak glances at the lord and fuss about him all the time. Even in your free time, you're thinking about his affairs and trivial matters. I mean look at you," Loud La'khi motioned to Mah'ri, "You're even sharpening his blades for him during your break, for goodness sake!" She crossed her arms, she is not letting this go. "So don't you say I'm making no sense, Mah'ri, 'cause I know a lovestruck maiden when I see one."

DAVROE - Shampoo for Blonde Colored Hair
What’s the best shampoo for colored blonde hair? Choosing the best shampoo for colored blonde hair is important to maintain the vibrancy of the color and keep your hair healthy. hands, eyes, hair, and your choice or other features
Tumblr media
Hands
Tobias’ hands are HUGE. Not thick and bulky, like his father’s--instead they are very sleek and elegant like a pianist’s--but they are indeed massive and very good for holding. To give a sense of perspective, see this image of canon Lotor’s hand compared to Allura’s:
Tumblr media
Yeah. That’s Tob.
In this screenshot you can also clearly see Lotor’s claws coming out of his fingertips--Tobias has the same claws, long, sharp and jet-black. When he takes his gloves off you can also see that he has hand beans, which correspond to the toe beans on his feet. When he was hiding on Earth, he wore gloves to disguise the fact that he had these alien features, even when it was hot during the summer.
Eyes
Tumblr media
Tobias’ icons have brown eyes, but that was because I intended them to be used in multiple verses where he might have brown eyes instead of a supernatural color. (Which…didn’t end up happening but I’m not going to ask the person who INDIVIDUALLY COLORED these icons to redo all the eyes just to make them accurate to this blog.) Instead, Galra Tobias’ eyes are so dark that they look black at first glance but when they catch the light or are seen in strong lighting, you can see that they’re actually an incredibly deep, dark blue. His eyes are soulful and mysterious, especially with that particular color contrasted with his yellow sclera, beautiful and commanding, and bright with an intelligence that holds the entire universe within.
His eyes are also a slim, fox-eye shape similar to Lotor and Zarkon’s canon eyes and also to what I headcanon a lot of Galra have naturally. (When the fox eye trend rolled around, it did give him a confidence boost because he basically had that eye shape already!) His eyes actually look rather Asian, which is something he’s quite self-conscious of--he would much rather have wide doe eyes, like Western beauty standards. But what he fails to appreciate is that his eyes are fine and sleek, their shape just as and alluring as their color, and they help give him his characteristic “hot morally grey anime character with a dark and mysterious past” aesthetic.
Tumblr media
Hair
Tobias’ hair is actually curly! He just has straight hair in his icons because hair textures that are anything other than straight really aren’t common in anime. My headcanon for his hair texture is that it resembles Lisa Edelstein’s, who is a Jewish actress. As his bio states, he has dark brown-black hair that looks purely black but when it catches the light, it has a purple sheen/undertones which he gets from his Galra lineage. It’s something very unique to him as a hybrid, since Galra don’t have black fur that have this sheen--even melanistic Galra just have plain black fur. And it’s super soft, too! Galra have incredibly thick and soft fur, and so Tobias’ hair is very thick and silky soft as well. You could put your hand into it and the feel is such that you’d think you’d be able to just keep going and pushing your hand down into the big, vast softness forever. (But you can’t actually do this, since Native people don’t let just anyone touch their hair.) Plus did I mention that it’s healthy as heck? Even if someone repeatedly took a baseball bat to that hair it would still come out the other end looking just as shiny and perfect as before.
Tobias has a love-hate relationship with his hair. When he feels good about it, he thinks it’s his only good feature and takes superb care of it--he treats it with essential oils and other moisturizers, he puts it in a ponytail before he sleeps to protect it, heck just like mainverse Lotor he even had shampoo that was custom-made specifically for his hair to keep it extra shiny and voluminous. When he feels bad about it, he gets it straightened (which usually always comes undone after a month or two because thick curly hair is INCREDIBLY stubborn and cannot be dominated by this insignificant little thing you call a “perm.”) His mom scolds the hell out of him every time he straightens his hair because she knows he only does it due to 342 years of internalized antisemitism and quite frankly she’s a strong beautiful woman who doesn’t take it lying down when he tells her that the features he inherited from her are ugly. At least after several decades of unbelievable self-loathing he’s come to a place where he’s not totally convinced that his hair is awful. Progress…?

Face
And of course, where would I be if I didn’t describe Tobias’s pretty, pretty face? Like we know what it looks like from his faceclaim, but since I love him so much I have to wax poetic about just how pretty he is because god damn.
Tobias just doesn’t appreciate the fact that he’s actually quite classically handsome. He has amazing facial symmetry. He has skin as smooth and flawless as the marble statue that he could be. He has a gorgeous V-line jaw and a firm chin that perfectly balances his tall, strong aquiline nose and just as perfectly complements his high, prominent cheekbones. He thinks his face is all angles and points because he’s a good deal more angular than Galra faces usually are, but nowhere is his face overly angular, everything has a sense of balance and harmony to it that makes him very nice to look at. Pidge often tells him that if the Greeks and Romans discovered America they’d be making statues that looked like him and honestly, where is the lie? There’s not a single person in the faceclaim world who looks exactly like him because celebs tend to look like boring white men with the exact same boring white hairstyles and not like hot morally grey anime characters with dark and mysterious pasts, but if I had to pick a RL faceclaim who looked at least mostly like him it would be Haatepah Clearbear (1, 2, 3). I’m kinda hesitant to use him because I have heard some nasty things about him (look in his tag on Tumblr and you’ll see) so Tobias doesn’t have an official faceclaim, but he’s all I got as a ref so there you go.

what’s their go to shampoo & conditioner combination?
on the isle, castille soap scented with whatever citrus managed to not get too moldy before the soapmaker go their hands on it to use to scent the soap. while conditioner was hard to come by, if alice managed to get her hands on some oil, that definitely nourished her hair a bit.
when she leaves the isle for arendelle, alice starts using actual shampoo and conditioner. she tried out a few different scents and settled on a fruity bergamot-y scent for her shampoo and conditioner. the actual products themselves are both moisturizing.
what other hair products do they use?
on the isle, none of her own accord. the few times she went to the salon, other products were used on her, but she had no idea what they were. alice’s hair is curly and the humidity on the isle made it so unless she made an effort to put her hair back and up, her curls would always spring back in full force no matter what products she tried to add to tame them.
once she left the isle, she started doing more to work with her hair instead of against it. she uses products to keep her hair healthy and lively, even when royal duties and appearances often call for her hair to be braided, twisted or straightened or recurled often. she uses a leave in conditioner, various styling products depending on how much effort she wants to put in, and heat protectant when she heat styles it.
what kind of fragrances do they use?
alice likes woody and citrus-y scents. a lot of the various fragrances she likes are marketed towards men, not that she cares. occasionally (usually for press and parties where shes expected to conform at least a little bit) she’ll wear a more feminine floral perfume, but she doesn’t reach for those on the daily.
what skin products do they use?
moisturizer made from animal fat and starch was something alice was able to find on the isle and she used it relatively regularly, mostly on her legs, arms and occasionally her hands when they got too dry that they started to cause sensory problems.
alice has opted for more luxurious skin products in auradon. face wash, moisturizer and various other products such as serums and sunscreens have been purchased for her or by her. really, she doesn’t care what she uses or how much it costs. she just doesn’t want to be uncomfortable. that’s the driving force behind her adapting to auradon’s way of life in terms of skin care. she does carry around hand lotion in her bag though because she truly cannot stand her hands being dry.
how do they treat their skin conditions?
as stated earlier, alice hates her skin being dry. it’s more of a sensory thing than an actual condition, but she moisturizes often so she doesn’t have to deal with it.
what’s their go-to toothpaste?
she did what she could, and usually that meant some form of toothpowder made from baking soda. sodium bicarbonate / baking soda is naturally occurring (though not in a powdered state) and can be mined, heated and sold. this powder then got purchased and used for toothpaste when mixed with water.
off the isle, alice uses whatever generic mint flavored toothpaste she finds. she cares about dental health, but she’s really not picky as long as she avoids getting yelled at by a dentists.
how do they tend to their nails?
she kept her nails short on the isle, trimming them or waiting for them to break. shorter nails were better for climbing and meant she could get and keep her grip when she needed to. occasionally she’d paint her nails, but that usually meant they’d chip within a day or two given that she’s usually doing something with her hands.
in auradon, alice’s nails are usually relatively nice looking. she keeps them clean and neat. usually they’re painted but she doesn’t go for the customary pinks and nudes that much of auradon’s royalty likes. black, red, blue and green are her favorite polish colors. she allows her nails to grow a bit longer though not too long and sometimes she has almond shaped nail tips. she does however happen to like women so it’s incredibly likely that the nails on the useful fingers are kept short to start out with or they get cut short and nicely filed when alice needs them to be.

Silk Weft Hair Extensions: The Ultimate Guide to Luxurious, Natural-Looking Hair
Silk weft hair extensions have gained immense popularity in recent years, offering a seamless and luxurious solution for those looking to enhance their hair’s length, volume, and overall appearance. These extensions stand out due to their high-quality construction, natural look, and ease of application. This article delves into what silk weft hair extensions are, their benefits, and how to care for them to ensure they remain beautiful and long-lasting.
What Are Silk Weft Hair Extensions?
Silk weft hair extensions are a type of weft extension that features a silk strip or ribbon at the top, where the hair strands are attached. This silk strip is incredibly thin and flexible, allowing the extensions to lay flat against the scalp, providing a more natural and undetectable look compared to traditional weft extensions. The hair used in these extensions is often of high quality, such as Remy hair, which maintains the hair’s cuticle intact and aligned in the same direction, ensuring smoothness and preventing tangling.
Benefits of Silk Weft Hair Extensions
Natural Appearance
One of the primary advantages of silk weft hair extensions is their natural appearance. The silk base mimics the natural hairline, making the extensions virtually invisible when applied correctly. This results in a flawless blend with your natural hair, giving you a fuller, longer hairstyle without obvious signs of extensions.
Comfort
Silk weft extensions are known for their lightweight and comfortable feel. The thin silk strip does not add bulk to the hair, making them more comfortable to wear for extended periods. This feature is particularly beneficial for individuals with fine or thin hair, as it prevents the extensions from feeling heavy or causing strain on the natural hair.
Durability
When properly cared for, silk weft hair extensions can last for several months. The high-quality materials used in their construction, including the silk base and Remy hair, contribute to their durability. These extensions can withstand regular styling and washing without losing their integrity or appearance.
Versatility
Silk weft extensions are versatile and can be styled just like your natural hair. Whether you prefer straight, wavy, or curly hairstyles, these extensions can be curled, straightened, and colored (with proper care) to match your desired look. This versatility makes them an excellent choice for those who enjoy changing their hairstyle frequently.
Caring for Silk Weft Hair Extensions
To ensure the longevity and beauty of your silk weft hair extensions, follow these care tips:
Gentle Washing
Wash your extensions with a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to prevent drying out the hair. Be gentle and avoid rubbing or tangling the hair during washing. Instead, gently run your fingers through the hair to clean it.
Proper Drying
After washing, pat the extensions dry with a soft towel. Avoid wringing or twisting the hair. It’s best to let the extensions air dry to maintain their quality and prevent damage from heat.
Styling
When styling your extensions, use heat-protectant sprays to minimize heat damage. Avoid excessive use of hot tools and opt for lower temperature settings when necessary.
Regular Maintenance
Brush your extensions regularly with a soft-bristle brush to prevent tangles and maintain their smoothness. Be gentle to avoid pulling on the silk weft and causing damage.
Conclusion
Silk weft hair extensions are a luxurious and natural-looking option for those seeking to enhance their hair’s length and volume. Their comfort, durability, and versatility make them a popular choice among hair enthusiasts. By following proper care routines, you can enjoy the beauty and benefits of silk weft hair extensions for months, achieving the hair of your dreams effortlessly.
