Coming Home (C.E)
Chris Evans Fanfiction (Fanfiction Masterlist)
Summary: dad!Chris Evans. Chris comes home to his twins fighting and he scolds them. But he also takes care of their wounds with you and then you all go out to eat ice cream and have a family day.
Warnings: None. Minimum angst but fluff all the way.
._._._._.
"Where are the kids?" Your husband came and sat right next to you on the couch. It was a shock to him when he didn't see his two little munchkins clinging to his legs the moment he entered the house. It has been kind of their routine from the moment they could walk on their little two legs.
“They are busy playing in their play room. Why are you not happy about it?” You knew that after a full day of shooting, coming home to two energetic kids was tiring and stressful. So you were shocked when he wasn’t glad to have a moment of peace by himself.
“Well, they are a part of my routine now. It feels weird not having them jumping around me.” The three year olds have always been more attached to Chris than you. Initially, you were a little jealous that the twins focused all their attention on your husband but now you were glad. Having a piece of quiet while he handled the children was pretty awesome.
You both had pretty successful careers and when the twins came into your lives, you both decided that you would handle it all together. In the start, each one of your married girlfriend told you that you had to quit your job as the marketing head because being a mom was a full time job. You were scared and when you shared your concerns with Chris, he consoled you and told you that you would both do it all. Having successful careers while being good parents.
“Just spend sometime with me while Emma and Jason are distracted.” Pouring him a glass of wine, you leaned in to him with your head on his shoulder.
“That is a good way to spend my evening. How was your day, sweetheart?”
“It was hell. My boss gave me a project to complete with a bizarre timeline and when I couldn’t complete it on time. He just took it all out on me in front of my colleague.” Today was humiliating for you and you couldn’t wait to get home, drink a nice glass of wine and relax. “Hated it, babe. How about you?
“Well, my co star couldn’t get her part right so we had to do the same scene five times. We are behind on shooting now and I have to get up early tomorrow morning so that we can catch up to the schedule.” Sighing, he took a long sip of the red liquid and felt his muscles relaxing.
There was a moment of silence that enveloped the room and you just basked in it. “A crappy day for us both.”
“Indeed. Let’s do something exciting then.” He kissed you and just when things were about to get heated, a piercing scream interrupted the moment.
“What-What is happening?” He was still in a haze and couldn’t properly interpret anything.
“It looks like your kids are fighting again.”
“Are you going to handle them?”
“Oh no!” Laughing at his incredulous request, you picked up your glass again. “You wanted to spend time with them so go on.”
Chris got up from the couch and went upstairs. Emma and Jason love each other to death but they have been fighting from the womb. Emma is the stubborn one and while, Jason backs out most of the time. Sometimes, he retaliates and it turns real bad, real fast. They were pretty hot headed, just like you.
“What is happening here?” The dad mode was fully in place when he saw his little girl sitting on the floor with hands pressed to a bloody forehead and his little boy trying to console her.
“She pushed me and then I pushed her. Not my fault. But she hurt, daddy.” The panic in Jason’s eyes was evident.
“(Y/N)! Come here, right now!” You scrambled to your feet as soon as Chris’s voice boomed across the living room. “You never hurt your sister, Jason. This is not alright.” The stern voice was new for Chris but the situation required it.
“But, daddy-”
“No excuses, Mister. Now, apologise to your sister and no toys for you for the whole week.” He got in to action with the first aid kit that he took out of their walk in closet. Emma was still crying her lungs out even when Chris tried to console her. She was not letting him touch the wound and was squirming uncontrollably in his lap.
“Daddy, why you always bla- blame me? Hate you.” Hiccuping, he stuttered on the big words and then stomped out of the room. You tried to stop your son but he just ran past you.
“What is- Oh my god!” The blood was now soaking up your little girl’s shirt and she still wouldn’t let Chris touch the wound.
The one thing that your kids inherited from your husband was the fear of blood and stitches. The small three year old knew that a boo boo that hurts really bad will lead to stitches. You knew how to handle all three of your babies in situation like these. Taking Emma from your husband, you hugged her lightly.
“Bubba, I need to look at your boo boo and then you can have the Elsa bandage.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.” When she removed her chubby, little hand, you were relieved that the cut was not big or deep. A bandage would just do the trick. You softly hummed a tune in her ears while you applied an antiseptic to the wound and then the band aid. She had tears streaming down her face and she was sniffling quietly. Chris took her from you when you were done and gently rocked her in his arms. He always loved it when both your children seeked comfort in you. It reminded him of how lucky he was to have you. “Where did Jason go?”
“I scolded his regarding this and he threw a tantrum.” When Emma heard Jason’s name, she further curled herself into his chest.
“Give her to me.” Raising her face by holding her chin, you sternly asked her. “Tell me what happened, young lady?”
With a guilty tone, she told you both that she was the one who pushed Jason first. They were both playing with the doll house that Chris bought Emma as her third birthday present. Jason wanted to add his toy cars to the doll house but she won’t allow it. She pushed him first and he hit his wrist on the small coffee table but then he pushed her back. When she fell back, she hit her head on the side of the wooden house.
“You are going to apologise to him, Emma. I told you that this much anger is not alright, bubba.” Chris took her to the twin’s room that had two different themes running through it. Emma was never a fan of the color pink so she went with purple and Jason really loved yellow, so he got that. The room looked like a clown’s den but Chris was never the one to deny his children’s requests. They had his whole heart well, except you.
“Jace, Emma would like to say something to you.” Setting her on her feet, she went towards his elder brother by barely three minutes.
“I am sorry, Jacey. Never should have pushed you. Kiss your boo boo to make up?” He nodded gently when his sister climbed in to the body. Extending the bruised wrist, Emma held it in her hands and lightly pecked on it. Meanwhile, you got a numbing cream for Jason and you stopped in the doorway with Chris and watched their interaction. They were your and Chris’s two little bundle of joys and you both couldn’t get enough.
“I am sorry that I yelled at you, baby. You two will not have your toys for a week. But who wants ice cream right now?” They both jumped at the mention of their favorite treat.
Chris had a way with the children. He completed all their wishes from eating ice cream as dinner or buying the most expensive toys for them. Making them happy was his primary job and he fulfilled it with great joy. However, he knew when to step up. He knew when to tell them no because he didn’t want his children to be some spoiled brats. He knew how to mediate and that was one of the many thing that you loved about him.
“I will get your jackets while daddy will help you with your shoes.” Going downstairs, you placed Dodger’s food in his bowl because you were going to be out for sometime. Chris always turns a simple outing to a full blown family day. A walk in the park, dinner at a high end restaurant and then shopping at the mall.
“Let’s go.” He buckled both the kids in their respective booster seats and made sure that they both had their preferred stuff toys. God knows, if they didn’t have them on their car ride.
The ice cream place on the fifth avenue was your favorite because it was where Chris took you on your first date. Both the children went for chocolate ice creams and Chris cleaned them up after they were done anything. It was so wholesome to watch him perform his dad duties.
“Then Oliver tried to eat dirt and the teacher gave him a time out.” You never understood why your son was friends with that boy because all he ever cared about was dirt.
“That’s why I hate boys. They are dirty.”
“That’s right, bubba. They are all dirty and disgusting. You stay away from all of them.” Gently nudging him with your shoulders, you playfully scoffed at him. He was sometimes very protective of his children.
“Ollie said girls also have icky germs.”
“Yes. You also stay away from them.” Chris was full on laughing at the situation right now because both the kids were in some serious thoughts.
“Okay dadda.” They both started skipping on the side walk and already started bickering about who was their dad’s favorite. He took you in his arms and kissed you on the forehead.
“Thank you for all this, babe. I love you.” He was truly thankful for you and for everything that you brought in his life.
“I love you too. Now let’s buckle them in before they start pushing each other again.”
Hope you guys enjoyed it!!

The Great Barrier “Ralph”
Tumblr media
Tuesday and Wednesday I checked off one of my bucket list activities.  I took an overnight boat and snorkelled thr the Great Barrier Reef.  We visited one of the Outer Reefs, the Thetford Reef, 3 hours out from Cairns.  One of the ost spectacular sites ever!
So full disclosure, this might be one of my least visual appealing posts because I did not have an underwater camera and really didn’t use my phone too much because everything on the boat is soaking wet all the time.  Most of the pics from topside are mine, but all the fish/coral pics are courtesy of the internet.  They are all things I really saw though..Anyway, sit back, put your comfy pants on, get a glass of wine...cause this is a long one.
Tumblr media
My Great Barrier Reef (GBR) voyage was aboard a small 65 foot motor sailing schooner called the Rum Runner. It was advertised as "an affordable reef experience for backpackers and budget-conscious travelers" (You know how I love a deal) It lives up to it's no frills expectations. The boat is owned by a man named Richard who is also known as Rum. He also owns the hostel I am staying at...another no frills frills experience. Rum is a kind of wiry frantic man, who when I told him that the door to the refrigerator fell off when I opened it, he said  “Oh yeah, that...well, you can put your stuff in the other fridge.”  Hmmm.  No frills indeed.  But it is actually a nice room with my own bed and A/C.  All the basics covered.
Tumblr media
Anyway, back to the reef...the captain of the Rum Runner was also quite a character.  His name is Jace and he looks exactly like what you would imagine a grizzled sailor to look like (only he’s on the small side).  Long, unkempt hair and covered in nautical tattoos,.His personality is a grizzled as his exterior would suggest.  Classic! (No photo, use your imagination)
Tumblr media
A motley crew
We were at full capacity on the small boat with 16 passengers and 5 crew.  (I actually think we might have been over capacity, but its not the kind of boat that is concerned with that kind of thing.)  My fellow passengers on the trip were a fun and eclectic mix of international backpackers hailing from 9 different countries including Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, New Zealand, France, etc.
Tumblr media
The ride out to the reef was a 3 hour trip.  It started with fun a chatting and general excitement.  Things quickly turned sour.  The reason I named this post The Great Barrier “Ralph” was due to the rough seas heading out to the reef and the puking/ralphing fest that ensued.  Of the 16 passengers, at my best count 9 were lined up along the side of the ship throwing up for most of the ride out.  A seasickness extravaganza.  I was shockingly one of the only people not throwing up.  Considering my general aversion to water for most of my early life, I was shocked to be one of the ones who had my sea legs.  This air of cockiness would catch up to me later, but more to come on that...
Tumblr media
By the time we got out to the reef, most people, although a little sad, queasy and haggard had stopped ralphing over the side and it was time to get our diving/snorkeling on.  Most of the passengers were certified divers.  There were only three of us who opted for the snorkel only package, which proved to be the best decision.  My snorkel buddies are my new favorite travel friends, Sophie & Oscar.  Sophie is a “Kiwi” (a person from New Zealand) and Oscar, Sophie’s BF, is originally from Sweden.  They would turn out to be my travel companions for the rest of my time in Cairns.

The three of us had nearly free reign of the reef on each dive, as the crew was preoccupied with the divers.  On day one, we did 4 dives at sites around an Outer Reef known as the Thetford Reef.  Although the GBR is in danger due to global warming, it is absolutely huge and some parts of it are still flourishing.  We were on just one of over 3,000 reef groups that make up the GBR!
So what is it like to snorkel in open ocean?  Absolutely terrifying.  Thanks for asking.  If I’m being totally honest my entire first & maybe second dive I was freaking out.  I made them give me floaty because I was scared I would drown and never be seen again.  As it turns out, it is salt water and we were all wearing wet suits so, I was so buoyant I couldn’t have drowned if I wanted to.  It took a few dives for me to realize this.  Most of the reefs we saw were shaped like giant mountains or mushroom clouds under the water.  You can snorkel right over the top of them and the corals are only a few feet from you.  Once I got over the initial fear of drowning or being eaten by sharks, I discovered it is one of the most magical experiences ever.  You can swim with schools of beautiful, iridescent fish.  There are so many of them.  The fish and the reef are ever color imaginable and they are so close to you!  One of the best experiences is when you swim over the top of the reef and get to the edge...all of a sudden it drops off into huge caverns, sometimes hundreds of feet deep.  It feels like you are flying.  You’re first instinct is that you are going to fall off the edge, until you realize you are floating above the void.  It is literally like flying above mountains and valleys, except they are underwater and made of coral.
In the deep dropoffs there are schools of large fish, we saw Tuna, which are huge and Unicorn Fish, which are hilarious.
Again, disclaimer, I did not take these photoss, but this is what they look like.

In the shallows of the reefs, we found Nemo!!  (Clown fish are the cutest), these crazy neon blue worms that hide when you splash water at them, and other smaller fish.  Some of my other favorites below:
Tumblr media
Butterfly fish.  So cute, they were always swimming in pairs.
Tumblr media
Five banded Damselfish.  I could just swim right in the middle of a school of them.

Each dive was about an hour and I didn’t want to come back each time.  It was beyond words...]

The other thing that is amazing about being out on the reef  is the sunset and at night there is almost no light and we were out on a clouody night.  We had dinner and a beer and headed to bed in our tiny bunks.  I don’t think I have ever been so tired.  I’m pretty sure I was asleep by 8pm.
Tumblr media
The next day we were up at 7am for our morning dive.  The first of two for the final day.  On each dive the reefs got progressively more amazing (maybe because I could finally fully relax and enjoy them) The abundance of fish chasing each other around the reef and hiding in little reef caves was phenomenal.  On our final dive of the day, we swam out to a large, shallow thin reef, with deep crevasses running through the reef.  I was swimming a little further away from my companions, near a crevasse, and all of a sudden a HUGE fish came out of the black of the crevasse and swam right past my face.  It was what is known as a Humphead Wrasse.  They are one of the largest fish in the reef.  The one I saw was easily 4 feet long.
Tumblr media
Humphead  or Maori Wrasse (They can live up to 30 years, but are currently on the endangered species list)
Of course, I immediately thought it was something that was going to eat me.  I panicked and swam down to avoid it, this led to me taking in a ton of water into my snorkel and completely forgetting how to blow it out again.  I ended up swallowing a TON of salt water in my panic.  I eventually pulled myself together and figured out the fish was completely harmless.  I then took off in pursuit of it.  After sprinting after it for several minutes I finally caught up to it and swam alongside of it for what felt like hours, probably a minute or so.  Then, it hit me...I had just swallowed an inhumane amount of salt water and was completely wiped from chasing the fish.  My bravado in being one of the non-pukers caught up to me.  All of a sudden, I just lost my cookies and puked in the ocean.  I had officially left my mark (and my breakfast) on the Great Barrier Reef.  And that friends, was my final hurrah on the Reef.  The Wrasse had disappeared back to the depths of the ocean and it was time for me to swim back to the boat.  Epic, right?
Anyway, the conclusion of this story is that I continue to leave my breakfast in the GBR for the rest of the 3 hour trip back to Cairns.  Seasickness is no joke, folks.  Lesson learned, don’t eat a giant breakfast, swallow a ton of salt water and then ride on rough water for three hours.  Was it worth it?  YYYYYEEEESSSSSSS!  In fact, I couldn’t ask for a more hilarious and epic final hours on the Reef.  This will probably go down as one of the best experiences of my life.  It was also one of the best moments ever to stand on solid ground, take a shower in my hostel, take some anti-nausea medicine and sleep!

Note
if you're still taking prompts, can I request a Magnus/Jace high school au, please!
I am so sorry about how late this is… aiusdhfad. But at least it’s finally here?
Ship: Magnus Bane/ Jace Whatever
Bet on You
“You know, that stuff can kill you,” Jace said.
Magnus Bane pulled the cigarette out of his mouth without looking up from the book he was reading under the bleachers. Magnus was… Something else on campus. People called him a goth, but that isn’t quite right. Punk is a shade too far as well. He is himself, and there really isn’t any other social place for him. His nails painted black, and his eyeliner might suggest that he listens to too much Simple Plan, but his tastefully tailored shirts contradict it. Jace would be lying if he said that wasn’t interesting.
“Oh do they?” Magnus asked, his lips twisting up ironically, “tell me, what is it about them that can kill me? Is it the acetone? The ammonia? The Benzine? The Carbon Monoxide? The tar? The arsenic?”
“Um…”
“Don’t presume I don’t know my poisons.”
Jace raised his arms in mock surrender, “my bad.”
Magnus rolled his eyes and looked back down at his book.
“So, what do you know about Magnus Bane?” Jace asked at lunch. He’s on the soccer team, varsity, and people cling to his words. In the back of the cafeteria, eating alone is Magnus- the book he’s holding is different from the one he was reading two days ago.
“Goth,” Clary said, not looking up from her sketch book. She’s on the cheerleading team, but she spends most of her time in the art room- Jace tries and fails to pretend he doesn’t find that endearing.
“What else?”
“Uh, rich dad- not sure what he does. Mom died in fifth grade, I was in his class when he found out. It was horrible…” Clary continues, “why?”
“Nothing, just… curious.”
Isabelle is more helpful, but Jace expected her to be. She knows everything about everyone and maintains the best grades in the class. Jace has no idea how she does it, but he’s lived with her long enough to accept it.
“Talk to you later, Alec,” she said into the phone as Jace walked into her bedroom.
“How is he?”
“Apparently college boys are much better than high school ones,” she said.
Jace smiled, ever since Alec left for college, the house felt oddly large and quiet. Even though his older brother didn’t talk much, he had a way of filling space. It didn’t help that he picked a college on the other side of the country.
“What do you know about Magnus Bane?”
“What’s it to you?”
“Nothing, nothing… I’m just curious.”
Isabelle leveled him with a cutting look, the way she looks at her experiments under a microscope. Her gaze suddenly softened, “um… He has a bit of a thing for college girls. Last I heard, he was dating a twenty-two year old at the Community College- Camille something.”
“Oh… Wow, who knew that guy had so much game?”
Isabelle shrugged, “he’s hot, and he knows it. And he’s got that dark tortured vibe going, muy sexy.”
“If you’re into that sort of thing.”
Isabelle leveled him with an amused grin, “I have a feeling you are.”
“Oh, by all means, please, make yourself comfortable,” Magnus said sarcastically.
Jace plopped himself on the other side of his table at the library and opened his calc textbook. “Thanks, I will.”
Magnus had a book opened (Jace recognized it as the book the AP-Lit kids were working through) and his laptop open.
“Working on Mr. Fell’s essay? I heard it’s a bitch,” Jace commented.
“Small talk? Really? Don’t you have some sophomore cheerleader to feel up?”
“You know,” Jace said, irritation coloring his voice, “I’m just trying to be nice. You don’t need to be such a dick.”
“I neither need nor want your charity, Wayland. I’m doing just fine.”
“Maybe it isn’t charity, jackass. Maybe it’s friendship- heard the term? Or would you like a four syllable synonym? God, I’ll take ‘pseduointellectual douchebags for five hundred, Mr. Tribek’”
Magnus looked at him, surprised, “never figured you for a fan of Jeopardy.”
“There is a lot you don’t know about me,” Jace said, “but you might know that I’m a decent sports player. I can play the long game.”
“Why are you even interested?” Magnus asked, his voice filling with exasperation.
“No one seems to know anything about you,” Jace said. “I mean, they know who you’re dating, and what happened to your mom, but almost no one knows a damn thing about you. Why is that?”
“Maybe there isn’t much to know.”
“Or perhaps,” Jace said, “you’re lonely and don’t know how to fix the problem. Or maybe you’re caught up in a super dangerous, crazy mystery. Either way, I want in.”
Magnus sighed with irritation, “what makes you think I would even want your friendship?”
Jace laughed, all cocky and golden, “who wouldn’t?”
Jace walked into Magnus’s mansion, his father wasn’t there (per usual), but he wanted to see if the other boy was interested in hanging out. It seems like he might be… Busy.
“Oh yes, god, Magnus!” A woman’s voice calls out again.
Ah, Camille. One of Jace’s absolute least favorite people. When he first met her, he had been dazzled of course. But the longer he got the know her the… Creepier her thing with Magnus became. He was Jace’s age, sixteen, she was nearing twenty-two. And she seemed to rejoice in manipulating him, asking him to buy her expensive things and returning the favor with sex and praise.
And Jace knew just how starved Magnus was for affection.
It didn’t help that Jace had become increasingly attached to Magnus, his quick sense of humor and his incredibly kind heart that he hides for no reason.  He especially loves his smile, when Jace is able to really make him laugh. The way he looks down, with a big grin, as if his own happiness surprised him.
They stumbled out of his bedroom ten minutes later.
“Jace, hey,” Magnus said apparently unsurprised to see him, “want some water?”
Jace raised the glass he was already drinking from.
Magnus rolled his eyes, “always making yourself at home.”
“Stop pretending you don’t love it.”
Something behind Magnus’s eyes flashed, which looked vaguely like panic, “ha. Right.”
Camille ticked her eyes to Jace, then to Magnus before twisting her lips into a cruel smile, “what a cute little homo moment. Now, darling, are you going to pour me a real drink?”
He saw the way Magnus’s eyes flinched at the slur, but he didn’t comment. Jace saw his hand hesitate for a second, before reaching for a bottle of whiskey, “yes. Of course.”
Come over.
It was unusual to receive a text from Magnus, so the second he saw it, he rushed over. The lights were off in the huge mansion when he walked in, but he saw Magnus slumped over the couch with a bottle of vodka.
“Jesus, Magnus,” Jace said pulling him into sitting position, “what happened?”
“She’s been cheating on me,” Magnus said, “she… God.”
He immediately started gagging, and Jace moved a trashcan in front of his mouth. He listened to his friend dry heave for a few minutes.
Jace rubbed his back softly, “I’m sorry, man.”
“For months now. And when I found out, she just laughed. Laughed and said I was a stupid high school boy.” Magnus sounded on the verge of tears, “I thought I loved her.”
Jace didn’t know what to say, just pulled Magnus into his arms and let him cry.
“I’m so sorry, Magnus,” Jace said, and he was surprised to find he really was. He might like Magnus, but he never wanted to see Camille leave him. It strikes Jace that he’d never actually seen Magnus express any particular emotion except wry amusement and irritation.
This is much worse.
“And don’t worry,” Jace continued, “she’s failing community college, and eventually her good looks will fade. Meanwhile, you’re going to be a world famous business man with at least three fashionable ex-wives and a fleet of cars.”
Magnus let out a watery laugh, “yeah?”
“Yeah. I know you, you’ll invent some really crazy bomb to sell to the military, and you’ll call it the Camille.”
“How dare you imply that I would engage in war profiteering,” Magnus replied. His voice was still thick and full of tears, but still had that bite of good humor Jace had come to be enamored by- a good sign.
Jace rolled his eyes and tightened his arm around Magnus’s shoulders, “you know what I mean.”
Magnus said nothing and curled deeper into Jace’s chest. He really must be tired, Jace thought, otherwise he never lets me have the last word.
Something imperceptible shifted in their friendship after that, they were always close but they were somehow now even closer. They touched often, when Jace spent the night they shared a bed curled in each other’s arm.
Weeks turned into months, which turned into summer- and their relationship was as close as ever.
“Platonic cuddling,” is what Magnus had called it with a nervous laugh. Jace just smiled and accepted it. He even accepted the “platonic hickeys” they sometimes left on each other’s skin when they watched movies.
After meeting Magnus’s father, the younger Bane made much more sense. His father was aggressively conservative, and needlessly cruel- especially to his son, who he sees as a ‘useless faggot.’ Jace can’t imagine how terrible he’d be if Magnus actually was interested in same gender attraction.
But that is what Jace gets for underestimating Magnus Bane, he supposes.
“You like me,” Magnus said. It’s late and they’re laying in bed together, Jace curled up on Magnus’s chest about to fall asleep the way they usually do.
“Um,” Jace began, aiming for nonchalant but his heart is pounding, “yes? We’re friends. Do we need to walk you through the concept again?”
Magnus pushed him off, so they were looking at each other, face to face, “no. You… You want to date me.”
Jace said nothing, his eyes were wide. All he could feel was terror. Though he might be attracted to Magnus (very attracted) and like him a lot (might even come close to loving him) he really was his best friend first. The thought of losing Magnus now was close to unbearable.
“Well?” Magnus said with a small smile, clearly seeing the fear on Jace’s face, “what are you waiting for?”
“Wh-what?”
Magnus sighed and rolled his eyes, though Jace could see the apprehension and nervousness on his features, “oh you sports players, always favoring action over words.”
With that, he moved slowly (slowly enough for Jace to escape if he wanted to) to kiss him.
It was- well, it wasn’t magical. Jace’s heart was still pounding with terror, making him nearly light headed, and Magnus was too nervous and trigger shy to compensate. Still, laying next to each other in Magnus’s bed, it felt like the best kiss he ever had.
Jace relaxed finally and let his lips twist into a smirk, “I had to wait for you to make the first move, naturally. I am, after all, highly sought after.”
Magnus laughed, tension draining from his broad shoulders, “on street corners, maybe.”
Jace pinched Magnus’s arm, “asshole.”
They got quite again suddenly, staring at each other. Jace raised his hand to Magnus’s face, his finger’s trembling, “can- can I kiss you again?”
Magnus’s eyes were shining in the dark as he nodded yes, Jace swallowed and pressed his lips to Magnus’s again and this time… This time was much better. They moved in slow tandem, a soft press of limbs and lips, Jace wouldn’t help but smile into it. He smiled even more when he felt Magnus’s returning grin on his mouth.
Fuck, feeling that smile was somehow even better than looking at it.
“You can not be serious,” Magnus said looking at the jacket in his hands.
“Oh come on, babe,” Jace said with a smile, “please? You’ll look so good in my Varsity Jacket at the game.”
Magnus’s long, ringed fingers grasped the harsh fabric, and his perfectly painted nails glinted in the sun. Jace is not sure he’s ever felt happier.
“It clashes,” Magnus said observing it. “It clashes with everything. It somehow even clashes with itself. How is that possible?”
“Fine,” Jace said with a sigh moving to take back the jacket when he felt Magnus cling tight to it.
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t wear it,” Magnus said with a resigned sigh and slipped the jacket over his shoulders.
It made Jace chuckle, for most of the other guys on the team their letter jackets were huge on their girlfriends. But on Magnus, who was just as tall, broad and athletic as Jace, it basically looked the same.
Still, he wouldn’t deny the primal joy of seeing his name written on his boyfriend’s back.
“You better win,” Magnus said when Jace hadn’t responded, “I’ve got a lot of money riding on this pool.”
“You bet on the game?”
“Of course, darling,” Magnus said with a glint in his eyes. “But don’t worry, I always bet on you.”
Jace pulled Magnus in for a kiss, “good. I bet on you, too.”
