**Chakotay, sitting next to the Captain, puts on his best menacing face and nods along in full agreement. Alien of the Week is about to respond, when Janeway’s commbadge chirps**

Naomi (via the comm): Captain’s Assistant to the Captain.

**Janeway’s face immediately softens and she taps her commbadge**

Janeway: Yes, sweetie?

Naomi (gleefully): Captain! I just finished my biology lesson with the Doctor and he said that you once told Commander Chakotay that if you had any questions on mating behaviour…

**Naomi babbles on and Alien of the Week looks confused and gets up to leave. Janeway whips back to him and points an accusatory finger at him**

Janeway (aggressively): You will stay where you are. I am NOT done with you yet.

Naomi (crying): C-c-Captain?! Wha…

Janeway: No, no, Naomi, not you sweetie…

**Janeway turns back to Alien of the Week**

Janeway: Now look what you’ve done! If you don’t return my people by the time I count to ten…

**Alien of the Week is very confused but quickly acquiesces**

Thinking about starfleet brats and combadges cos i cant find any pictures of one of the children on star trek wearing one but surely children on star ships must use some variation of a combadge so they can be located on the massuve ship and so they can contact their parents. Another reason a child might need a combadge is to call security if theres an issue which brings up a whole plethora of questions including do security get calls from kids saying theres an intruder alert cos they saw a weird shadow and do childrens combadhes have restrictions on the comm frequencies they can access so they dont contact the captain, so would they have the conbadge version of those shitty kiddy phones that you could only call 999 and home on. Also wpuld they be able to contact each.other

Also, I guess, points for using his combadge instead of speaking loudly so everyone else can hear him, although I think everyone within earshot still did.

Just found an AliExpress seller who will make high quality, tailored Starfleet uniforms of every variation EXCEPT the Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan uniform. I mean seriously, they have the NX-01 Enterprise uniforms, the stupid racing flight suit Tom Paris wore in that one episode of Voyager, and hell they even offer Kirk's admiral uniform from Star Trek: the Motion Picture. I am unbelievably disappointed, but also resisting the urge to place a $350 charge on my credit card for a full Star Trek: First Contact uniform complete with combadge and rank pips. Or shit, maybe I want to go TOS with the Captain's Green wraparound tunic.
