But Adrien wears his own amoks now, making his own choices with no one forcing him to do any of it. All physical risks are out of the way. Félix only needs to break it to him. The problem is that it never seems to actually be the right moment.

It's starting to get wearisome, and also, Félix has the strangest feeling that the supervillain knows him in some way. And that he's in for a hell of a time this final year of school.

When Marinette hears that a new student is transferring to Dupont, she is more than excited to invite them to join the club in a hope that the club could have more exposure. That is, until rumours begin to spread that the new transfer student goes by the name Felix, and has some sort of affiliation with the Agreste's.

Between his own personal mission, hanging out with his cousin, being a tourist, and his first Akuma attack, he's got his hands full. But then Marinette shows up... and shakes things up to a whole new level.

SO I've been going crazy about this guy in private, made an entire sketch comic about him and everything, all without actually introducing him to the public so here he is!

His name is Aelius Fatum. They used to be a small-town priest before he experienced the onset symptoms of sudden cardiac death on his way home from a service and lost consciousness. He was given medical care, but unfortunately he was not able to be revived and passed away. Well, sort of!! His heart stopped for around 10 minutes and he was pronounced dead, but then miraculously it started beating again. Aelius was never the same after the incident though, going from warm and jovial to withdrawn and emotionally repressed.

Because of the mystique surrounding their recovery, they are offered a seat among The Shepherds of Cinderhallow, since it's clear they MUST be blessed by Solem in some way. They reside there to this day, becoming something of a de facto leader as they say and do things that suggest that Solem speaks with them- or through them often.

They are a strong proponent of the mindset philosophy of Amor Fati to justify the action- or inaction of their god, and they navigate every situation with an unnerving calmness because of it. To Aelius, Solem is an artist, and reality is their art made to express the complexities of their inner landscape. Any tragedy that Solem allows to happen is because sometimes art exists to challenge us and make us uncomfortable. Anything is fair game if it properly communicates Solem's vision, because that is what good art does.

Following the art metaphor, I believe Aelius interprets his roll as Solem's paintbrush/pen/pencil etc, a tool that can be utilized to bend a reality that the artist can exist within in all ways but physical.

oh i love love love this!!! (pun not really intended haha). those are such powerful lines. i have not read any of his poetry, but i just looked up the poem you quoted from and the middle lines of the poem before the ones you wrote from the end are also so good (i mean the whole poem is),

"then I saw the parade of my loves

those PERFORMERS comics actors singers

forgetful of my very self so often I desired to die to myself to live in them

then my PARENTS my FRIENDS the drained SPECTRES once filled with my baffled infatuations

love and guilt and fury and sweetness for whom

nail spirit yearning to the earth"

him referring to all that he has loved as "spectres" or ghosts and saying he often desired to die to live in them. ugh. my understanding of the essence of the poem is that we are haunted by our love and our lives are dictated by it, whether in our seeking it out and following it or because we are in opposition to it? it's cool how the "what you love is your fate" is also a subversion in kind of nietzsche's amor fati, bc instead of love of fate, it's fate is love. but it's so interesting bc w/ love as fate, the idea is that you only have a bit of control over what you love, which can be destructive bc there is an illusion of choice. it definitely is the same meaning from my pinned post bc imo we rlly are made of all that we have once loved, even if we wished we hadn't or the love grew thorns or whatever may have happened. but that is beautiful in it's own right. to love & keep trying to love.

i also went down the rabbit hole of looking at this quote on google and found that the mountain goats posted this part of the poem on their twitter, which makes so much sense when i think about their song Love, love, love with the lyrics "Some things you'll do for money and some you'll do for fun / But the things you do for love are going to come back to you one by one / Love, love is going to lead you by the hand" so i wonder if the poem inspired the song! this was so cool to think abt,

For Painful Honest Opinion: Solaire because I was just talking about him. :'D Is he overhyped to you if I am allowed to include that ask?

Ah, Solaire ^^ Time to say my perfectly honest opinion about him. When I first heard about Dark Souls and saw art of Solaire, I was convinced that he would be a boss battle, some kind of crazed knight who would always shout “Praise the sun” while he beats you up.  When I met him in game, I saw how sorely mistaken I was. And at first, I didn’t get the appeal too much. Sure, he is nice and jolly, but... that’s it? There are so much more interesting characters in there! Ornstein! Artorias! Seath! Gwyndolin! Yeah, I am totally into the whole Anor Londo before the fall, so the undead were on the sidelines for me. BUT! Then I started to read the Only the ember remains comic of @onlytheembersremain and Amor Fati, the fic of my friend @acebladespades. Both of them are huge Solaire fans and they started to let me see him through a more positive light. Not an overhyped one, but a genuinely positive one, so now I really like Solaire. He’s a good character.  That being said, if  people decide to kill him for his gear, that is their choice and don’t harrass anyone just because they don’t like Solaire.

What are your thoughts on the episode Hungry?

I actually quite like Hungry. I enjoy the concept of the “tortured monster” who doesn’t really want to be a killer. I liked the young actor who played the lead, especially his creaky voice and vulnerability. I also thought it was very clever to play the episode from his point of view because Mulder and Scully through the eyes of others is typically pretty comical.

The only thing about Hungry is the very little time we get with Mulder and Scully (which iirc, was to relieve David & Gillian so they could focus on their own eps later in the season). After the intensely emotional ending in Amor Fati which shook me to the core, it was jarring to hardly even see Mulder and Scully at all in the episode immediately following it. How nice it would have been to get Millennium right after AF? It would have been a much-needed dose of continuity in a show that so desperately needed it.
