Job Title: Accounts And Administration Assistant – NFA Uganda Jobs 2022 Organization: National Forestry Authority (NFA) Reports to: Range Manager/Plantation Manager Duty Station: Field based and ready to work in hard to reach areas Salary Scale: NFA 6 Employment: Three (3) year contract (Renewable)     National Forestry Authority (NFA) Profile: Government of Uganda, in 1998 adopted a policy to restructure many government departments including the Forestry Department. It recognized an urgent need for a change in the policy, legal framework and institutions controlling forestry in the country. There was a sense of crisis about the state of the country’s forests and a particular outcry at the state of the forest reserves, in the hands of the Forestry Department. The sensitization Forestry Department was no longer appropriate for the task and therefore a need for it to be divested. It was decided that a new institutional arrangement was needed hence the Forestry Inspection Division, the National Forestry Authority and the District Forestry Services were set up. Government of Uganda worked with DFID, Norway, GTZ, UNDP, FAO and the EU towards this institutional change since 1999. Having made the decision to close the Forestry Department, the Ministry pushed for a quick development and transition to, an NFA. So, the NFA became in 2003 under section 52 of The National Forestry and Tree Planting Act and was launched on the 26th April 2004. Establishment of the National Forestry Authority was preceded by the development of the new Forestry Policy (2001) and the National Forest Plan (2002). These were to provide for a framework for distribution of roles and responsibilities amongst sector stakeholders and not just the Forestry Department. NFA has a mandate of managing 506 Central Forest Reserves (CFR’s) totaling to 1,262,090 ha of the land cover, with objectives of improving management of the CFRs, expanding partnership arrangements, supplying forest and non-forest products and services and ensuring organizational stability.     Job Summary: Provides day-to-day financial management and administrative services.     Roles and responsibilities: - Prepare and submit payment vouchers for processing. - Receipt, bank and facilitate clients with payment registration. - Participate in updating licensees’ register in Central Forest Reserves. - Maintain books of accounts, payables and receivable ledgers. - Ensure compliance with internal control. - Prepare and submit revenue and expenditure returns as per the stipulated timelines. - Maintain and update the fixed asset register. - Prepare and maintain stores records. - Prepare work plans and budgets. - Compile and submit monthly fuel utilization report timely. - Supervise and manage activities and payments of casual workers. - Support Human Resource, procurement and disposal functions. - Contribute to the revenue generating and sustainability initiative of NFA. - Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.     Minimum Qualifications: - A Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Commerce, Business Studies/Administration with a bias in accounts/finance or full professional qualification in accounting. - Minimum of two (2) years working experience performing accounting or auditing functions in a reputable organization - Minimum of twenty five (25) years of age. - Good decision making and leadership skill. - Critical thinking and attention to detail - Analytical and good communication skills - High level of integrity, resilience and reliability. - Management, team building and organizational skills. - Computer proficiency     How To Apply for NFA Uganda Jobs 2022 Criteria for application Interested candidates who meet the above requirements, should submit their applications, certified copies of academic certificates, transcripts and curriculum vitae giving full details of applicants’ education, qualifications, experience (with evidence), present salary, and three referees with their full postal, e-mail addresses and telephone contacts as well as the candidate’s full address and e-mail to the address below not later than close of business on 31st August 2022 or send soft copies to [email protected]. Whether you enable student finance depends on:
your university or college
if you have already completed a higher education course
your age
your nationality or residency status

Your university or college
This should be a university, college, or other educational institution that provides a qualifying course.
If you have already completed a higher education course
If you’ve studied before
You may be eligible for student finance if your course is in the UK and one of the following:
a Foundation Degree
a first degree, for example BA, BSc or BEd
a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE)
a Certificate of Higher Education
a Higher National Diploma (HND)
a Higher National Certificate (HNC)
an integrated master’s degree
an Initial Teacher Training course
a pre-registration postgraduate healthcare course
If you’re studying part-time
To be eligible for student aid, your course must have a ‘course intensity’ of 25% or above.
If your course is in the UK and you meet one of the following criteria, you may be eligible for a Tuition Fee Loan:
a Foundation Degree
a first degree, for example BA, BSc or BEd
a Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE)
a Certificate of Higher Education
a Higher National Diploma (HND)
a Higher National Certificate (HNC)
an integrated master’s degree
an Initial Teacher Training course
If your course is in the UK and you meet one of the following criteria, you may be eligible for a Maintenance Loan:
an Initial Teacher Training course (if it’s degree level or above)
a first degree, for example BA, BSc/BEd
a Foundation Degree in dental hygiene & dental therapy
an integrated master’s degree
a DipHE in dental hygiene & dental therapy or operating department practice
If you’re taking a Degree Apprenticeship, you won’t be eligible for student loans.
If you’ve studied before
Even if your previous degree was self-funded, you’ll normally only be eligible for student aid if you’re pursuing your first higher education certification. In specific circumstances and for particular courses, you may still be eligible for limited support.
If you changed course, stopped your studies or are repeating a year
If you leave your course before the first year is up, you’ll be eligible for financing for the same or a different programme when you return.
You might also get funding if you:
You suspended or withdrew from your course before it concluded, and now you can enroll in any course you want.
are returning to the same university, college, or institution to repeat a year of your course.
You can figure out how much you’ll get by adding one year to the entire number of years in the course you’re applying for. Then subtract the amount of years you spent studying. If you studied for a portion of a year, you should count it as if you had studied for the entire year.
Example
If you are applying for a 3 year course and have studied 5 months of a different course, you’ll get 3 years of funding.
If you are applying for a 4 year course and have studied 2 years of a different course, you’ll get 3 years of funding.
If you already have a degree
In rare instances, you may be eligible for restricted funding.
If you’re ‘adding up’ a higher education certificate, such as an HNC, HND, or Foundation Degree and now wish to pursue an Honours degree, you may be eligible for restricted assistance.
If you have an Honours degree or a higher level of qualification and are starting a new programme, you may be eligible for restricted support. This could be a part-time Honours degree, a joint Honours degree, or an Integrated Master’s degree in one (or two if it’s a joint Honours degree) of the following fields:
agriculture and related subjects
biological sciences
architecture (if it’s a March RIBA Part 2 course)
computer science
medicine and allied subjects
mathematical sciences
technologies
physical sciences
courses leading to qualification as a veterinary surgeon
If you start a healthcare course on or after August 1, 2017, you may be eligible.
Your age
There’s no upper age limit for Tuition Fee Loans or grants. Age are important  for Eligibility for Student Finance.
If you’re 60 or over
You may get limited funding for Maintenance Loans if all of the following apply:
you’re 60 / over on the first day of the first academic year of your course
you’re studying full-time
your course started on or after 1 August 2016
The amount you can apply for depends on your household income.
Your nationality or residency status
You may be able to get help with:
your tuition fees and living costs (full support)
your tuition fees
The type of help you can get depends on your nationality and residency status.
When you’re eligible for full support
You’re a British or Irish national, or you have’settled status’ in the UK or Ireland (no restrictions on how long you can stay)
you normally live in England
Apart from temporary absences such as vacations, you’ve lived legally in the UK, the Channel Islands, or the Isle of Man for three years prior to the start of your degree.
You may be eligible for full support if you’re a UK national (or family member of a UK national) who both:
Was a resident of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein on December 31, 2021, or had returned to the UK from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein by December 31, 2020.
Has spent the previous three years in the United Kingdom, the European Union, Gibraltar, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein
Important are Eligibility for Student Finance
You may also be eligible if your residency status is one of the following:
refugee (including family members)
humanitarian protection (including family members)
migrant worker or frontier worker from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein (including family members) with settled or pre-settled status
child of a Swiss national and you and your parent have settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme
child of a Turkish worker who has permission to stay in the UK – you and your Turkish worker parent must have been living in the UK by 31 December 2020
a stateless person (including family members)
an unaccompanied child granted ‘Section 67 leave’ under the Dubs Amendment
a child who is under the protection of someone granted ‘Section 67 leave’, who is also allowed to stay in the UK for the same period of time as the person responsible for them (known as ‘leave in line’)
granted ‘Calais leave’ to remain
a child of someone granted ‘Calais leave’ to remain, who is also allowed to stay in the UK for the same period of time as their parent (known as ‘leave in line’)
you’ve been given settled status (‘indefinite leave to remain’) because you’ve been the victim of domestic violence
you’ve been given settled status (‘indefinite leave to remain’) as a bereaved partner
you or your family member have been granted leave under the Afghan Relocations & Assistance Policy (ARAP) or the Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme (ACRS)
You could also be eligible if you’re not a UK national and are either:
under 18 and have lived in the UK for at least 7 years
18 or over and have lived in the UK for at least 20 years (or at least half of your life)
You must have been living in the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for 3 continuous years before the first day of your course Eligibility for Student Finance.
When you can apply for help with your tuition fees
You can apply for tuition fee funding if you’ve been living in the UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the EU Norway or Switzerland for the past 3 years & you have one of the following:
pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme & you’re an EU national or the family member of an EU national
Irish citizenship
You may also be eligible for tuition fee funding and Eligibility for Student Finance if either of the following apply to you:
you’ve lived in Gibraltar or the other British Overseas Territories
