The office was eerily quiet at this hour, with most of the staff having left hours ago. The only sound was the rhythmic tapping of your keyboard and the occasional scrape of Daniel’s chair against the floor as he shifted in his seat.
The small desk lamp on Daniel’s desk cast a warm glow over the room, highlighting the sharp lines of his jaw and the faint stubble on his face. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and his tie hung loosely around his neck. He looked every bit the disheveled yet effortlessly attractive boss you couldn’t help but notice every day.
You were seated across from him, your laptop open as you finished typing the notes he’d asked for. Your back ached from hours of sitting, and your mind was foggy from the late hour, but you didn’t dare complain. Working under Daniel Ricciardo wasn’t just a job—it was a privilege.
“You’re a star, you know that?” Daniel’s voice broke the silence, deep and smooth, laced with the exhaustion of the long day.
You glanced up, startled by the sudden compliment. “Just doing my job, Mr. Ricciardo.”
He smirked, leaning back in his chair and running a hand through his messy curls. “How many times have I told you? Call me Daniel. You make me feel like an old man with that ‘Mr. Ricciardo’ stuff.”
You let out a soft laugh, the sound nervous and unsure. “Sorry. Force of habit.”
His gaze lingered on you, the intensity of his brown eyes making your cheeks heat up. “You’re too polite for your own good,” he said, tilting his head slightly. “I’ve noticed that about you.”
You swallowed hard, suddenly hyper-aware of how close the two of you were in the quiet, empty office. “I just… like to keep things professional,” you managed, your voice barely above a whisper.
Daniel raised an eyebrow, the corner of his lips twitching upward in a teasing smirk. “Professional, huh?” He leaned forward, resting his elbows on the desk. “I’ve seen the way you look at me. The way you blush whenever I catch you staring.”
Your heart stopped, your face flooding with heat as you stammered, “I—I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He chuckled, the sound low and warm, sending a shiver down your spine. “Relax, I’m just teasing.”
But the way he said it—the way his voice dipped into something softer, something more intimate—made your stomach twist in nervous anticipation.
You tried to focus on your laptop, but you could feel his gaze on you, heavy and unrelenting. After a moment, he pushed his chair back and stood, moving around the desk to stand beside you.
“You’ve been working so hard tonight,” he said, his voice softer now. “Let me take a look.”
You turned to face him, and suddenly, he was much closer than you expected. His tall frame towered over you, and the scent of his cologne—earthy and warm—washed over you, making your head spin.
“I’m fine,” you said quickly, your voice trembling.
His eyes searched yours, a flicker of something dangerous and magnetic flashing in them. “You’re always fine,” he murmured. “Always so polite. So professional.”
Your breath caught as his hand came up, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. His touch was light, almost hesitant, but it sent a jolt of electricity through you.
“Daniel…” you whispered, your voice trailing off as he leaned in slightly.
“You can tell me to stop,” he said, his voice low and husky. “But I don’t think you want me to.”
You didn’t respond, your mind racing as his hand slid to the back of your neck, his fingers brushing against your skin.
He closed the distance between you, his lips capturing yours in a kiss that was firm and demanding. You froze for a moment, the shock of it rendering you motionless, but then you melted into him, your hands gripping the edge of the desk for support.
The kiss deepened, his tongue sliding against yours as his hand moved to your waist, pulling you up from the chair and into his arms. Your body pressed against his, and you could feel the heat radiating off him, the hard lines of his chest against your softer frame.
“Is this okay?” he murmured against your lips, his breath hot and ragged.
“Yes,” you whispered, your voice trembling with a mixture of nerves and excitement.
His lips curved into a smirk, and he lifted you onto the edge of the desk, his hands sliding under your skirt to grip your thighs. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do this,” he said, his voice a low growl.
Your heart raced as his lips trailed down your neck, his teeth grazing your skin and making you gasp. His hands were everywhere—on your thighs, your hips, your waist—each touch igniting a fire in you that you didn’t know existed.
“Daniel,” you gasped, your hands clutching at his shirt. “I’ve never…”
He paused, pulling back to look at you. “Never?”
You shook your head, your cheeks burning with embarrassment.
A flicker of something softer crossed his face, and he cupped your cheek with one hand, his thumb brushing against your skin. “We’ll take it slow,” he said, his voice gentle. “Just tell me if it’s too much.”
You nodded, your trust in him outweighing your nerves.
His lips met yours again, softer this time, as his hands explored your body with reverence and care. He guided you through every moment, his touch confident but patient, making sure you were comfortable as the line between boss and assistant blurred completely.
His lips pressed back to yours, and any hesitation you’d felt melted under his careful, steady touch. Daniel had a way of making you feel at ease, even in this unfamiliar territory, though every inch of your skin was alive with nervous anticipation.
The edge of the desk dug into the back of your thighs as Daniel leaned into you, his body warm and solid against yours. His hands slid beneath the hem of your skirt, his fingers brushing against the sensitive skin of your thighs. Every touch was deliberate, his movements unhurried but full of intent.
“You’re so beautiful,” he murmured against your lips, his voice breathless and filled with something you couldn’t quite name—admiration, maybe, or even desire.
You swallowed hard, unsure of how to respond. No one had ever looked at you the way he was looking at you now, his gaze dark and heavy with want.
His hands paused just above your knees, his thumbs tracing slow circles on your skin. “Tell me if I need to stop,” he said softly, his brown eyes meeting yours.
You shook your head quickly, your voice coming out in a whisper. “Don’t stop.”
The corner of his mouth lifted in a small, almost disbelieving smile before he leaned down to kiss you again, his lips parting yours as his hands moved higher. He pulled you closer to the edge of the desk, fitting himself between your legs, and the sensation of him pressed so close made you shudder.
“You’ve been driving me crazy,” he admitted, his voice low as he kissed along your jaw, then down the column of your neck. “Every day, sitting across from me, looking like that, being so sweet, so perfect. I couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
Your breath hitched as his hands found the waistband of your panties, his fingers hooking under the delicate fabric. “I never thought you…” You trailed off, your words failing you as his lips found a particularly sensitive spot on your neck.
“I do,” he said simply, his tone full of conviction. “More than you know.”
He lifted you slightly, guiding you to lie back on the desk, your hair spilling over the papers and files scattered across its surface. The cool wood pressed against your back, a stark contrast to the heat of his hands as they roamed over your body.
“This is about you,” Daniel murmured, his voice soft but commanding. “I want to make this good for you. Just tell me what you need.”
His hands moved with deliberate care, exploring every inch of you with a mix of tenderness and hunger that left you breathless. Your nerves began to fade, replaced by a growing sense of confidence as you let yourself get lost in him—in the way he touched you, kissed you, looked at you like you were the only thing in the world that mattered.
As the moments blurred together, you found yourself clutching at his shoulders, your nails digging into his shirt as he pushed you closer and closer to a sensation you’d never experienced before. Daniel seemed to sense every shift in your body, his movements adjusting to match your rhythm, his words a mix of encouragement and praise that left you trembling.
When it was over, he collapsed beside you on the desk, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath. You lay there in silence for a moment, staring up at the ceiling, your body still buzzing with the aftermath of everything that had just happened.
Daniel turned his head to look at you, a soft smile on his face. “You okay?”
You nodded, a small laugh escaping your lips. “More than okay.”
He chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from your face. “Good. Because I don’t think I can go back to pretending this isn’t what I’ve wanted for months.”
Your cheeks flushed, but you couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face. “Me neither.”
He leaned down to kiss you again, this time slow and tender, and you knew that everything between you had changed.

assistant (Lindir x reader)
Three days. Three days of non stop work. From sun up to long after the sun had set you’d helped Lindir with his tasks. You’d then continued on after he’d gone home. You hadn’t told him that though, you just knew there was a lot more on his plate than he liked to admit and you wanted to ease that as much as possible. Lindir on the other hand, was currently trying not to rip his hair out. It had been a curious day. “Y/n, where did I put the documents for…” he stoped speaking when you held them out. “I-thank you…” you’d also taken the time to sort out everything.
You nodded and turned back to what you were doing. You were exhausted.
“Y/n, have you seen my…pen…” he smiled as you handed him the pen and ink. He took the two and turned back to what he was doing. “I have to run these things to lord Elrond, I’ll be back soon.”
“Alright.” You said, pouring over a document.
As soon as Lindir had left and the door was closed you sunk to the floor, pulling your knees to your chest and hiding your face in your hands. You were exhausted but he needed your help.
You allowed yourself a few moments to relax before forcing your exhausted body back on its feet. You leaned over the document once more just as Lindir opened the door. He looked terrible. You sighed. “Lindir…sir, why don’t you take a few moments and sit?” You asked gently.
Lindir nodded and collapsed into a chair. You ran off and returned a few moments later with some tea. “Here, drink this and relax, you need it.”
He nodded and took the tea.
“I finished going through the documents and sorted them accordingly.” You said, moving a pile of papers to a shelf. “I also signed what I could. These few things need your signature,” you said, setting them on his desk. “Is there anything else you would like me to do?” You asked. “Perhaps go through the documents for our alliance with Mirkwood?”
Lindir nodded as he sipped the tea you’d given him. “Yes that would be nice,” he said, trying to hide his shock. You’d been working for hours and didn’t seem exhausted at all. How were you still going with all the stress of every day life and this work on top of it?
You pulled out the papers for Mirkwood and began to read through them. When you looked back over Lindir was asleep in the chair.
You smiled softly and grabbed a blanket to cover him with. The poor thing was exhausted. You placed a soft kiss on his temple, finished with the papers and then headed to the library knowing there was much work needed to be done there.
You walked down to the library and began to put the books back on the shelves, the task was simple but time consuming, and Lindir didn’t need another time consuming task.
-.-.-
You jumped when you felt a hand on your shoulder. You turned to see Lindir. “Y/n did you sleep at all last night?”
You hesitated before shaking you head.
He sighed. “You haven’t slept in two days!”
“That you know of…” you muttered.
“What was that?”
“Nothing…”
“Did you say that I know of?”
You sighed and nodded.
“Y/n, get some rest! Please!” Lindir begged.
“Why? You have work to do that’s piled to the ceiling! You can’t do it all on your own!”
He gently took your hand.
“We’re already behind…” you whispered.
Lindir sighed and nodded. “You’re right, we need to keep going. But if you need to rest just tell me, ok?”
You nodded.
Lindir smiled and helped you with the last few things in the library. “Thank you y/n…”
You smiled. “Of corse.”
“No really, I mean it, thank you.”
You smiled. “It’s nothing really.”
“It’s not nothing! It means a lot to me, thank you.” He said, hands gently taking yours. His eyes met yours and you could see the sincerity in them. You blushed slightly and looked away. You didn’t want him to know how you felt about him. You couldn’t let that get in the way of your work.
You slowly pulled your hands away and busied yourself with anything you could find. Suddenly, pain shot through your body. You clenched your teeth and placed a hand over your side. This pain was something you were used to. It was common. So were your migraines. You slowly slid agents the end of a bookcase and to the floor.
You felt a hand on your shoulder and looked up to see Lindir. Worry was written across your face. “Are you alright?” He asked.
You nodded.
“What happened?” He asked.
You quickly thought up a lie. “Just got dizzy. I probably just need some water…”
Lindir nodded and pulled you to your feet. You tried to ignore the pain in your body as he led you over to a chair.
You nodded and sat down on the chair, stars of pain blurring your vision. You haven’t told anyone about the pain since your parents. And of corse they thought you sounded crazy and were dramatic.
Lindir brushed a stray peace of hair out of your face. “Wait here, I’ll go get you some water.”
You smiled softly and nodded. You watched as he walked off to get you some water. You then felt the pain surge and you saw stars once more before you passed out from the pain, falling limp on the soft chair.
Lindir returned with a glass in his hand. “Y/n I got you that… water…” he paused and smiled. “I knew you were tired.” He whispered, gently placing the glass down before pushing your hair from your face. His expression fell when he saw the pain etched on your face. He then noticed the sweat rolling down your face. “Y/n?” He shook you slightly and you didn’t respond.
Lindir began to panic before he lifted you out of the chair and took you to the healing halls, fear in his eyes.
When Lindir arrived in the healing halls lord Elrond was there with Glorfindil, who had a few minor injuries from a run in with orcs.
The two looked over when Lindir came in with your limp body, pain etched onto your usually calm face. “I don’t know what’s wrong but she’s in a lot of pain.” Lindir said.
Elrond pointed to a bed. “Lay her there.” He said as he walked over. “Let me see her.”
Lindir gently lay your limp body on the bed. Lord Elrond gently looked over your body. “There are no wounds that I can see but…”
“My lord,” Glorfindil began, “perhaps she has the same pain syndromes that I did for years.”
Lindir looked over at Glorfindil. “What do you mean?”
“My body proceed pain wrong for years, amplifying it and making it much worse than it would naturally be. If so she needs much more time for healing and more sleep.”
Lindir looked over at you as you winced in your sleep. “Perhaps…but that wouldn’t make sense as to why she’d push herself to work for days without sleep.”
Both Elrond and Glorfindil looked over at Lindir. “Days?” Elrond asked.
Lindir nodded. “She hasn’t slept in two days at lest that I know of. She may have been awake longer than that.”
-.-.-
When you woke you were in your own bed but something was different. You looked around and noticed that Lindir was sitting in a chair next to you, a book in his hands.
You slowly sat up and Lindir looked up. “Your awake…”
You nodded, rubbing your eyes. “I am…”
“How are you feeling?”
“Like I slept way too long… there’s still much to be done, I know that much, do you need me to-” Lindir cut you off.
“I need you to rest, heal, take some time for yourself you deserve it. Especially after overworking yourself like you have.”
You shook your head. “I’ve gotten too much rest as it is, what else can I do for-”
Lindir pushed you to lay back down. “Rest y/n please you’re worrying me.”
You sighed but complied. Mostly. “I could at least go through some documents for you couldn’t I?”
Lindir sighed and shook his head. “No I need you to rest, please.”
You sighed at his request. “I’m not helpless you know I can take care of myself, I know when I need to rest and when I’ve had…enough…” you paused as Lindir’s expression changed. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
He sat on the edge of your bed. There was something in his eyes you couldn’t seem to read. “Lindir?”
He gently cupped your chin before leaning down and placing his lips on your forehead. “Rest, please. You need it…”
You didn’t answer instead you were just a blushing mess.
Lindir smiled and leaned down again this time going to capture your lips. Your eyes widened before you put your arms around his neck and accepted his kiss, pulling him closer. You never imagined, even in your sweetest dreams, that you would be able to kiss the one who had stole your heart so long ago.
When Lindir pulled back from the kiss you looked at him with pink cheeks and a soft smile. “Lindir…” you mumbled, pulling him closer so you could hug him. “Thank you…”
“For what?”
You kissed his cheek again. “Everything…”
Lindir smiled and hugged you back. “I love you…” he mumbled as you hid your face in his shoulder and took in his scent. Lindir smelled like old books and leather along with whatever cologne he was wearing. That smelled amazing too. You took another deep breath. You liked that cologne a lot.
You parted from the hug and placed your lips back on his. “I love you too.” You mumbled as he held you close. “I always will.”

Boss+Personal Assistant: a 16+ nichelink relationship where one person in the nichelink takes a “boss” role and the other/s take an “personal assistant” role.
this is a subset of Boss+Employee. i chose to make this 16+ because of the focus/dedication described whereas i feel like Boss+Employee is easier to interpret as just for fun. wikipedia describes a personal assistant this way:
An assistant helps with time and daily management, of meetings, correspondence, and note-taking. The role of a personal assistant can be varied, such as answering phone calls, taking notes, scheduling meetings, emailing, texts, etc. In business or personal contexts, assistants are people who provide services that relieve his or her employer from the stress of tasks that are associated with managing one's personal and/or business life.
this nichelink may include, but is not limited to:
deep trust/understanding, possibly enough that the assistant is trusted to manage funds, take notes, write emails, make appointments, make phone calls, or other tasks for the boss
the assistant otherwise helping the boss with their work or personal projects
tertiary attraction like tutelary attraction
the boss trading benefits/rewards to the assistant in exchange for work, instead of funds, if it's not feasible for them to pay at the moment
the assistant being a recovering r*dqueer and the boss wanting to help them express their feelings of wanting to be "subservient" to someone in a healthier and risk-aware fashion
nichelink coining

But, you see, I´m actually in the middle of answering one and I have been for the past two days because it kinda turned into smt way bigger than I thought it would.
Anyway-
That one´s probs gonna be part 1 of my planned series of "Life as Birb Momma´s housewi-I mean assistant" or smt. The name isn´t set yet...
ANYWAY-
I´m probs gonna post the ask today and then tweak it some so I can move it over to ao3. With that said:
