Surprise Supercon Table Moment.

a little recap of my weekend..

i went to megacon! even though joseph quinn didn’t go, i meet some other people i’ve been wanting to be meet for a very while now! also overall the con was awesome and definitely a lot better than last year!

be warned it is a little of a long post 😬

on friday, i finally meet jeff ward who plays buggy in the one piece live action! i have one thing to say about this man… HE IS THE SWEETEST SWEETHEART TO EVER WALK THIS EARTH. his laugh is so contagious and honestly i could have spent hours talking to him! he is so engaging and kind💛 jeff ward is literally the best!!

i also got to see a lot of cool artist on friday and got a few commissions done which i adore💛 

on saturday, i finally got to meet paul bettany who plays vision in the mcu! he also is so kind and i got him to sign my wandavision special edition wandavision box. i asked him to draw a heart with a v in it like they do on wandavision and he deadass said to me “that’s what they did??” which made me laugh because HOW DID THEY NOT TELL HIM VISION BOUGHT THAT PLOT FOR WANDA AND HIM 😂 i also brought up how much i want to see vision back in the mcu and how much i love vision and he winked and smiled at me about it and then later saturday night it was confirmed that vision was gonna be coming back! im glad i was the first to know about it 🥰

i also meet jason lee who plays earl hickey from my name is earl and i know what your thinking.. you watch that show??? yes, yes i do! it one of my all time favorite shows and im currently on my rewatch of it for like the 1000th time and i just have to say that jason lee is a really down to earth man. he is literally just vibing and having a good time. we talked and i told him how much i love him as earl and how much i watch the show and even at one point he chuckled and kept repeating “damn it randy!” and then i cried because i think i’ve been waiting so long to meet him and then luckily my mom was with me because she reminded me to show him the picture my boss made of us (she bought me is autograph and photoshopped him and me together) and he loved it and signed it for me just because he loved it so much!

now for sunday, this was more of a chill day but was also very stressful because con going for more than one day gets very very exhausting. i was definitely not feeling it. i would have definitely said screw it if it weren’t for tom hiddlestons panel i bought tickets for. let me just say how incredibly lucky i was to go to that panel because i will cherish it forever. just being able to see him sit and talk about loki and himself was amazing and seeing all the people that also love him was amazing. he is so sweet and kind and said so really insightful things! i wish i could have meet him face to face but 10000000% if he goes next year… im spending ever penny to meet him.

The first photo dump is from Tampa Bay Comic Con! Other than the Star Trek convention in Vegas like a decade ago, this was the biggest non-dance convention I've ever been to. I got a lot of compliments on my cosplay costume, which I am super proud of. There was also only 1 other Doctor Strange around. The first 4 photos are from our performance. The rest are just the rest of the day.

Omgggg so I met Sarah Sutton aka Nyssa today 🥺 she was so lovely, at first when I went up to the auto room she must’ve been on a break cos she wasn’t there and I was kinda gutted but I did meet Nicola Bryant (Peri) so that was lovely. Then I got to look around and got stopped by a few people to compliment my cosplay which honestly felt amazing. Shoutout to the person who told me I looked just like Ingrid, you honestly made my day ❤️

Then I went back up and they were doing like a quiz on the main stage but this meant less of a crowd in the auto hall (though the two doctors in attendance were still very busy, would’ve been too much standing for me especially at that time of day hence I’d gone straight to autos initially). However I was very lucky cos Sarah didn’t have any queue! I only waited a very short time for the person already there (it was enough to gather my thoughts at least) then I had a really nice little chat with her. It was genuinely so awesome, Nyssa is one of my favourite classic companions along with Tegan and Ace (Sophie was also there, I got an extra auto from her since my one from wcc the pen was very faint and I’d noticed she had the pics from Tales of The Tardis. It was pretty quick but she was lovely as always)

Anyway so I hadn’t gotten any selfies up to this point as I wasn’t really feeling that confident, I worried that I looked silly but the compliments on my cosplay and the fact you just can’t turn down a photo with Nyssa of Traken meant I plucked up the courage to get a selfie. We had a little giggle about how all the Who women are so small so I’ve had to perfect a ‘lean and smile’ pose, and she had this gorgeous photo from the Nyssa and Tegan ‘reunion’ that I just had to get signed. All in all, really awesome day and hopefully she does another con nearby as I’d love to see her again plus get my classic who pic of them signed by her.

AwesomeCon Looks & Haul!!

Me and @elfcirynn made the trek out to AwesomeCon yesterday and had a full-on blast!! It was my first con so we made sure to go on the least busy day, which worked out really well for us! I felt confident and comfortable the whole time, even when I started getting tired. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find any DA merch but i found a TON of super adorable stickers and a few other things!! I can't even pick a favorite thing that I got, which is exciting because that means I'm super happy with my purchases! 😌😌

After we left and had a late lunch, we sat at a bar for a bit and then caught Across The Spider-Verse. It was SOOO good and I want to watch it on a loop.

Got home late but super happy! It was a really great day! 🥰

Just got word that Billy & Mandy will be leaving MAX at the end of the year. If anyone's interested in grabbing some physical media, I'm putting up the last of my DVDs on eBay this week. Who knows what will happen in the future, but the series has never had a full DVD set made, so discs like these may soon be the only way to see the show.

I'm in "Holiday Blowout Mode", so not only are there DVDs and original production art, but posters, crew gifts, and rare merch from shows like Chowder, KND, Samurai Jack, etc.

A lot of people have seemed sad for me that I'm selling off all of this old art. Honestly, most of it has sat in boxes for nearly 25 years. If I didn't sell it, I'd probably pull it out once every couple of decades while looking for a tape measure. At least this way, ideally somebody who wants it ends up with it and can enjoy it more than I would. I'm super-thankful to everyone who's bid so far!

Right now, I'm really just trying to buy myself time. Time for the animation industry to "bounce back", if that is indeed its destiny. Or just time to figure out What's Next.

So today has been a pretty good day! I went to see The Marvels (no spoilers but it was pretty good, at least found myself enjoying it more than most marvel films recently) and I had a job centre course which was kinda boring but I got to talk about my special interest so that was a plus. Then I find out that wales comic con that I’m going to next weekend has added Catrin Stewart as a last min guest which is very exciting! I’m having to slightly re budget but of course I have to get her autograph, and I have time to make a new scrapbook page at least (since I already have an 8x10 from years ago). I have a photo with Jenna Coleman booked and got one with Peter Davison too, just need to fully decide how many autos I can get away with buying from Peter cos there’s several things I want signed depending on which 8x10s they have (obviously if there’s any Nyssa then I’m sold haha)
