The joy of incoming summer promised many things Haruko was looking forward to. Summer festivals. The night of shooting stars. Cute, airy dresses to wear on a nice, sunny day, like the yellow one she picked that morning...

And sudden thunderstorms like the one that had just exploded over her head, of course.

Soaked to the bone, Haruko cursed her outfit. She should have listened to her mother that morning, when she had told her the sunshine wasn't going to last, but she had been too eager to enjoy the first bright day in months to listen to her... And now she was gonna pay the consequences. And was going to be late for work too, because the rain just wouldn't stop.

She was trying to find cover under a bus stop, shivering as she rubbed her bare arms, when a familiar figure walked past her, holding a purple umbrella. Her eyes lit up with hope.

"Tamaki?!"

She hurried after him, back in the rain, and grabbed his arm as she caught up with him.

"Oh my gosh it's you! Thanks god!" She gave his arm an anxious squeeze and wiped the wet bangs away from her forehead. "Please please please, can you walk with me to the cafe? You're going in the same direction and I forgot my umbrella, I--"

She couldn't finish her sentence -- a sudden sneeze interrupted her, followed by a violent shiver. She rubbed her nose with a sigh, giving him an apologetic look; her bag, and the tissues in it, were soaked too.

"How lucky you walked by right in time, though," she laughed. "You really are my hero, today!"

"EXCUSE ME, COULD YOU NOT?!"

Mariko quickly pulled up the stocking to cover her thigh and the bandage wrapped around it. Shoot. Of all the moments she had to pick to check her dressing, it had to be when Fu decided to pop out of thin air right in front of her. She had even chosen a remote alley to do it, to stay away from prying looks... Her usual luck.

And sure, it made sense for the young demon to appear where people couldn't see him... But still!

"It's nothing." She wore a sullen frown, trying to dismiss the embarrassment. "Just a scratch from the last mission."

A scratch that was bad enough to make Conton's magic unable to wipe it away, like it did with all wounds from Patrollers' missions... A Timebreaker's scratch, the only thing that could cross time and space all the way back there. It had been a week, and it still was taking its sweet time to heal properly.

But Fu didn't need to know that.

"I would really appreciate if you could not show up while I'm undressing next time, thank you very much!"

It had been a relatively normal day..as normal as things got, now that Yagi and Fin had somewhat(?) befriended a strange Quirk-holder kid who went by 'Cody'. It had been maybe a week since the teen had started crashing in an empty dorm in the faculty's dorm building, and the two were out and about. They had gone to buy groceries since their supplies were getting low, and it was such a bright, peaceful day...

Until an explosion rang out from a nearby street. Almost on instinct, the two were rushing over- Fin with a hand on their hidden pocket knife, and Yagi on his own recently-acquired pocket knife (he may have been retired, but Hell if he'd go down without a fight). The two paused, however, as they came across the street in question... And the child currently going haywire.

"We needa calm that kid down...!" Before more damage was done. The duo let go of their handles,- Yagi rushing to knock a civilian out of the way before he could get crushed by a light pole, while Fin shot forward- hands latching onto two youths that were standing stock-still, staring at the scene.

"Y'gotta move, kids!"

"HEY, people eat here. You can NOT stand up on the bar. This ain't coyote ugly. I don't give a damn how drunk you are right now. Get OFF right now before you get hurt!" Tyler cringes slightly as he reflects on how he sounds like his father.

ok so here's my pitch for 5 star kaeya: he obviously has ~secret~ powers so just make his element the same as dainsleif's. void/quantum/ousia or whatever.

this kaeya could be an awakened kaeya or a different kaeya from an alternate timeline. (we're probably going back into the past in the khaenri'ah chapter so timeline fuckery is imminent.)

if dainsleif's a limited character the element wouldn't be easily accessible outside of the traveller, so they could make it so that 5 star kaeya would be either a standard banner character or a free character who you get as you progress the story.

yeah his kit would probably suck ass but who cares. it's 5 star kaeya
