[All] [Yann Tiersen] [2019] [CD] A large audience may know Yann Tiersen for his great film scores (eg "Amelie" or "Good Bye Lenin"). But the multi-instrumentalist (he plays almost all instruments himself) and composer has already made a name for himself in the 1990s with his fascinating extraordinary compositions. . However, the album "All" released in 2019 is for me one of the best he has done so far. Yann Tiersen knows how to create experimental sounds like no other, both electronically and with conventional instruments, as well as evocative human vocals and sounds of nature. On the album are eleven sound paintings that can not really be described. . To speak of poignant, shattering as well as sublime beauty is a gross understatement. Perhaps the works on this album can best be compared to the rugged as well as breathtaking beauty of Brittany and the island of Ouessant (where the artist has lived for some time). Whoever fully takes in this album should never let go of this extremely fantastic experience like a precious treasure! . . . . .
