Something all flight attendants should consider regardless of what airline they are working for:
Groveling should never be a negotiating tactic.
Emotional appeals do not work at the negotiating table.
Ever.
Always remember this!
Thanks, Rock! Flight attendants everywhere adore you!

Streamlining Contract Redlining: Key to Successful Contract Management (CLM)
Tumblr media
In the realm of Contract Negotiations, there exists a crucial process that serves as the linchpin for successful agreements—redlining. This method of editing and marking contract terms during negotiations has evolved significantly over the years, transitioning from traditional manual processes to modern digital solutions.
The Origins of Redlining: The term "redlining" originated from the practice of marking up hard copy drafts of contracts with red ink. Each party involved in the negotiation process would meticulously review the document, identifying areas of contention or proposed changes. This manual process, while effective in its time, was labor-intensive and time-consuming.
The Evolution of Redlining: With the advent of technology, redlining has undergone a transformation. Cloud-based platforms and digital tools have revolutionized the way contracts are negotiated and managed. Gone are the days of physical copies and red markers; today, legal teams can collaborate in real-time, making edits and revisions seamlessly.
The Role of Technology: Cloud-based Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software has emerged as a game-changer in contract management. These platforms offer built-in redlining editors, enabling stakeholders to review and edit contracts simultaneously. This level of efficiency and collaboration streamlines the negotiation process, leading to faster agreements and improved outcomes.
Navigating the Challenges: Implementing redlining tools can present challenges, including finding the right solution and ensuring user adoption. However, with proper training and support, these obstacles can be overcome. The key is to choose a CLM platform that aligns with your organization's needs and provides robust redlining capabilities.
Maximizing Efficiency: Redlining is not just about marking up contracts; it's about driving efficiency and achieving consensus among parties. By leveraging technology and adopting best practices, organizations can streamline their contract negotiation process and minimize delays.
The Future of Redlining: As technology continues to advance, the future of redlining looks promising. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning algorithms are being integrated into CLM platforms, offering predictive analytics and intelligent contract drafting capabilities. These advancements will further enhance efficiency and accuracy in contract negotiations.
Empowering Your Legal Team: To excel in contract negotiations, organizations must empower their legal teams with the right tools and resources. Investing in modern CLM software with robust redlining features is essential for staying competitive in today's fast-paced business landscape.
Conclusion: Redlining remains a critical component of contract negotiations, serving as a catalyst for collaboration and agreement. By embracing technology and best practices, organizations can master the art and science of redlining, leading to more successful outcomes and stronger partnerships.

The gaming industry is on the precipice of a major disruption. As developers and publishers openly embrace artificial intelligence (AI) for game development, a clash with voice actors and performers – represented by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) – threatens to stall production and potentially delay upcoming releases. AI Integration: Faster Development, Improved Monetization? Companies like Electronic Arts have made clear their intentions to leverage AI in game development. Proponents of AI integration argue that it can streamline production processes, reduce development time, and potentially improve game monetization systems. Sag-AFTRA Pushes Back: Protecting Members in the Age of AI However, SAG-AFTRA, the union representing voice actors and performers, has voiced strong concerns about the potential impact of AI on its members' livelihoods. Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator, recently warned of a potential strike with a 50% chance of happening in the coming weeks. This escalation stems from failed contract negotiations between SAG-AFTRA and major gaming companies like Warner Bros., Activision, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, and Take-Two. The union seeks to update contractual terms to address the changing landscape of game development, specifically regarding the use of AI. Crabtree-Ireland: "Human-Centric AI, Not Replacement" Crabtree-Ireland emphasizes the necessity of a human-centric approach to AI implementation. "We want to make sure the adoption of artificial intelligence is human-centric and aimed at enhancing production, not replacing people," he stated. The union isn't opposed to AI outright but seeks assurances that AI will complement, not substitute, the work of its members. Striking a Balance: Protecting Workers, Embracing Innovation This conflict highlights the critical need for a balanced approach. While AI promises faster development cycles and potential economic benefits, its impact on the human workforce requires careful consideration. SAG-AFTRA's stance represents the anxieties of workers across various industries facing potential job displacement due to automation. Echoes of Hollywood: A Strike History and Potential Impact This isn't the first time the entertainment industry has grappled with the implications of AI. Last year, a major strike in Hollywood, also triggered by concerns surrounding AI integration, resulted in significant delays in film and television production. Similar consequences could ripple through the gaming industry if a strike materializes. Delayed releases, production stoppages, and disrupted development schedules could significantly impact game launches and revenue streams. What's Next? Finding Common Ground The potential strike serves as a stark reminder of the need for open communication and collaboration between developers, publishers, and talent unions. Reaching a solution that respects the concerns of artists while allowing for responsible AI integration will be crucial for maintaining a healthy and innovative gaming environment. FAQs Why are gaming industry workers considering going on strike? SAG-AFTRA members are concerned about the potential impact of AI on their jobs and are seeking assurances that AI will enhance, not replace their work. They also want to update contracts to reflect the changing landscape of game development. What could a strike in the gaming industry mean? A strike could lead to delays in game releases, production stoppages, and disrupted development schedules. Has AI already impacted other entertainment industries? Yes, a strike in Hollywood last year, also related to AI, resulted in delays in movie and TV production. What can be done to avoid a strike? Finding common ground between developers/publishers and SAG-AFTRA through communication and collaboration is key. A solution that respects artists' concerns while allowing for responsible AI integration would benefit the gaming industry.

Ezekiel Elliott RETURNING To The Dallas Cowboys After 2024 NFL Draft
Tumblr media
"Good morning folks! The Ezekiel Elliott deal is now happening, reported early this morning by the crew over at NFL Network - Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, etc. The Dallas Cowboys are set to sign Ezekiel Elliott to a, I assume, one-year deal. I haven't actually seen any contract details yet as of filming. I'll check in, uh, as we film this, like 7:15 a.m. Eastern Time, uh, in a little bit here, with if there's an update near the end of the video. Uh, Elliott is going to resign with the Dallas Cowboys, that's been the expectation for several days now, and the Cowboys forgot to draft a running back, so doesn't really add any surprise there either. Uh, by adding Elliot, the worst running back room stays the worst running back room in the NFL. Uh, the Cowboys, let's start positive, uh, I'm hopeful that an upgraded run-blocking offensive line with some additions can result in better short yardage and Red Zone results than what Dallas had last year, but also what Zeke did last year actually wasn't great in that area. He's not the same pass protector he was in his prime, but he's still a good pass protector. He still helps you in that area. I think Rico D's still better, um, but Zeke's not a liability in that area like, say, you know, Mini Mini DuVon is from that perspective. But after weeks of the Cowboys flirting and Jerry Jones saying how he thought Zeke played great down the stretch, which we will talk about in today's video, um, and this will be the last of my complaining that I do about the Zeke, except, man, maybe it's a lot today's live show. Uh, we will be live again this afternoon so you guys can make sure you are subscribed, hit that sub button so you don't miss out. Been a long couple days, a lot of draft picks, UDFAs yesterday, got a little bit of sleep last night and wake up and, ah, Zeke signed, which wasn't overly surprising. It was a matter of what day it ends up being, was it a Monday or a Tuesday, but that has been the trend this team was going to go down for a while there, so a lot to talk about here with Ezekiel Elliott. So hit that sub button if you haven't already. Again, as of filming, no contractual details here on the Ezekiel Elliott move, um, but this team needed running back help. At least there's something in terms of running back help coming in, I guess. Um, we'll get to, I'm going to bring in some of the old stats we had done previously on these videos. We talked about Zeke for a while now, um, so you'll see some of the last four year stats, uh, you'll see the short yardage stats, the Red Zone stats, and this alleged strong finish to Zeke's season which just didn't happen. It's not true. Um, but I do want you guys to grade the signing. I'm going to assume one-year deal with not that much money, but we'll see, uh, so A, B, C, D, or F in the comments section. It'll be the pin comment on today's video, so if that ad comes here on YouTube, take advantage of it, head down there, and let me know. Let's talk about what Zeke has done the last four years. And again, this is going to come up at a graphics, so ignore some of the old outdated... It's not a sponsor of today's show, but it's just what I had from previous times doing it, so ignore that. Uh, Ezekiel Elliott last year: 4 carries, 642 yards, three and a half yards per carry, three touchdowns. 231 carries in 2022: 876 yards, 3.82 yards per carry, and 12 touchdowns as well. 2021: 237 carries, 1,000 yards, 4.2 yards per carry, 10 touchdowns. 2020: 244 carries, 979 yards, four flat on the average there, and six touchdowns. Here's my issue: this is a player who has declined. We cannot sit here and think that, ah, yes, Ezekiel Elliott is returned to form. The Patriots' supporting cast was so bad, and it was bad, to be clear, it was not a good supporting cast in New England. It was a bad group, uh, although if you can look at ESPN's pass block win rate, I believe the Patriots' run block win rate, excuse me, are actually higher than Dallas, which I don't know how much I really believe that, but it wasn't a good group there. It straight up wasn't, and Zeke has not played well. He hasn't done it since the beginning of the 2021 campaign, and unless you're giving him like 25 carries, I think he's gonna get there. That's the crux of my issue. This is a non-explosive back at this time in his NFL career, and the efficiency isn't very good either. So you're getting some short yardage stuff, which we'll get into, it's not very good, by the way, relative to what it was in his prime. This is not the same guy that we all loved at the beginning of his career. It's simply not. More stats, more stuff to come here. If you agree with me, you probably think the Cowboys still need to go trade for a running back because I don't think you have a real starter on your roster right now. Do the Cowboys still need to go get a running back? Why for yes and for no in the comments section. Everyone goes, ah, the short yardage stuff, he's great in short yardage. He actually was worse than the guys you had last year. Obviously, supporting offensive line stuff helps. We'll bring the graphics up here again. On more carries, Tony Pollard was more efficient, had more touchdowns, and on 12 more carries, had double the first downs, 15 to 30, in F to get first downs inside of three yards. He was way better at executing that than Ezekiel Elliott was last year. Rico Dowdle was actually hyper-efficient, and I wish they'd give the ball more in short yardage situations. I'm a little frustrated that they didn't go down that path. And it's not eight plus box defenders, that's the real reason for stuff. No, the loaded box percentages from last year for Ezekiel Elliott was 17.93cm, at 35. You know, Khalil Herbert was at 31%. It was higher than what Tony Pollard had because it's off in a schematic B-A-S thing, more than anything. But the defenders were not loading the boxes to stop Ezekiel in the ground game, they were not. It's not what teams did. The numbers that we can look at to be like, okay, you know, what is it like trying to be independent of the supporting casts and everything? Good numbers, like rushing yards over-expected per attempt Read the full article

“Mitigating Risks in Software Outsourcing: Strategies for Effective Vendor Selection and Management”
Introduction:
Outsourcing software has become a strategic method for organizations looking to utilize external expertise while reducing expenses. However, the complexities of outsourcing bring a number of risks that can jeopardize project success. This article discusses ways for mitigating these risks while also achieving successful vendor selection and management.
Understanding the Software Outsourcing Risks:
Understanding the potential risks connected with software outsourcing is the first step towards effective risk management. Organizations can reduce the effect of these risks and improve project outcomes by proactively recognising and managing them.
2.1 Intellectual Property Protection
Intellectual property (IP) protection is a fundamental concern in software outsourcing. To preserve sensitive information and prevent unauthorized use or disclosure, organizations must ensure that vendors have comprehensive IP protection procedures in place.
2.2 Quality Assurance and Control
It can be difficult to maintain uniform quality standards among geographically distributed teams. To ensure that the finished product fulfills their expectations and criteria, organizations must develop clear quality control and assurance systems.
2.3 Communication and Language Difficulties
Effective communication is essential for the successful development of software. Language and cultural differences can stymie teamwork and cause misunderstandings. To address these issues, efficient communication channels must be established, as well as cultural understanding promoted.
2.4 Time Zone Distinction
Time zone differences can have an impact on project schedules and responsiveness. When defining project milestones and creating communication procedures, organizations should consider the impact of time zone differences.
3. Preparing for Software Outsourcing
Proper planning is essential for effective software outsourcing. It include identifying project requirements, assessing vendor capabilities, and creating open lines of communication.
3.1 Defining Project Requirements and Objectives
Organizations should clearly define project requirements, objectives, and expected outcomes before engaging vendors. This guarantees that the organization's vision and the vendor's capabilities are in sync.
3.2 Evaluating Vendor Capabilities
It is critical to thoroughly evaluate vendor skills before selecting the suitable partner. Technical skills, industry experience, and the vendor's capacity to achieve project needs should all be considered by organizations.
3.3 Establishing Clear Communication Channels
Clear and effective communication is essential for seamless collaboration. Establishing communication channels that facilitate timely information exchange and issue resolution promotes transparency and minimizes misunderstandings.
4. Vendor Selection Process
Choosing the right vendor is a critical step in mitigating risks associated with software outsourcing. A well-defined vendor selection process helps organizations identify the most suitable partner for their project.
4.1 Defining Evaluation Criteria
Organizations should establish evaluation criteria aligned with their project requirements. These criteria may include technical expertise, past project experience, financial stability, and reputation in the market.
4.2 Conducting Thorough Due Diligence
Performing due diligence on potential vendors is essential. This involves verifying credentials, evaluating financial stability, and conducting background checks to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
4.3 Evaluating Vendor Experience and Expertise
Vendor experience and expertise in relevant technologies and domains are strong indicators of their ability to deliver quality results. Organizations should assess the vendor's track record and industry reputation.
5. Negotiating Contracts and Service Level Agreements
Clear and comprehensive contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) lay the foundation for successful software outsourcing partnerships. Organizations should focus on key areas to ensure their interests are protected.
5.1 Clearly Defining Project Scope and Deliverables
A well-defined project scope and deliverables minimize ambiguity and misinterpretation. Both parties should have a shared understanding of project requirements and deliverables to avoid scope creep and disputes.
5.2 Establishing Intellectual Property Rights
Intellectual property rights should be clearly defined and agreed upon in the contract. This ensures that the organization retains ownership of the developed software and any associated intellectual property.
5.3 Defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Establishing measurable KPIs allows organizations to assess vendor performance objectively. KPIs should align with project goals and include metrics such as quality, timeliness, and adherence to SLAs.
6. Effective Vendor Management
Once a vendor is selected, effective vendor management becomes critical for project success. The following strategies help organizations manage their outsourcing relationships effectively.
6.1 Regular Communication and Status Updates
Maintaining open and regular communication with the vendor is essential. Frequent status updates and progress reports enable organizations to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and make necessary adjustments.
6.2 Monitoring and Measuring Performance
Tracking and measuring vendor performance against defined KPIs helps identify areas of improvement and ensures compliance with contractual obligations. Regular performance evaluations facilitate constructive feedback and continuous improvement.
6.3 Addressing Issues and Escalations Promptly
Timely resolution of issues and escalations is vital to prevent project delays and mitigate risks. Organizations should establish clear processes for issue resolution and ensure that all parties are aware of escalation paths.
7. Overcoming Challenges in Software Outsourcing
Software outsourcing may encounter various challenges that organizations need to overcome for project success. Understanding and addressing these challenges is crucial.
7.1 Cultural Differences and Workstyle Mismatches
Diverse cultural backgrounds and workstyles can impact collaboration and communication. Organizations should promote cultural understanding and implement strategies to bridge gaps and foster effective teamwork.
7.2 Managing Time Zone Variations
Time zone differences can affect project schedules and responsiveness. Organizations should establish flexible work arrangements, overlapping work hours, and effective communication practices to mitigate the impact of time zone variations.
7.3 Ensuring Effective Project Tracking and Reporting
Effective project tracking and reporting mechanisms enable organizations to monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions promptly. Robust project management tools and regular reporting promote transparency and accountability.
