Something all flight attendants should consider regardless of what airline they are working for:
Groveling should never be a negotiating tactic.
Emotional appeals do not work at the negotiating table.
Ever.
Always remember this!
Thanks, Rock! Flight attendants everywhere adore you!

Darlington (Chilchuck x GN!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: First Meet With Chilchuck <3
Tumblr media
If the Island Dungeon was known for one thing, it'd be danger. Then again that was the same for most Dungeons, but well...Lately, it'd gotten worse. Rumours of a Red Dragon prowling on a higher floor than usual and even the Dungeon Lord appearing higher than normal!
As a traveller to the island, you'd chosen to stay out of the dungeon. You'd be either an idiot to enter without a reliable party and most of those wouldn't take a new adventurer like you... Although, you had made a "business contact" which turned out to be a friendship. Chilchuck Tims, the head of the Half-foot union, was said contact.
The rumours you'd heard didn't paint him in a very good light, per se. Other half-foots called him greedy, demanding his pay upfront and taking union dues from members. Parties without a half-foot called him uncooperative and stubborn in terms of pricing, even if he was a skilled and tenured locksmith.
So by the time you'd met him, there was a small impression forming in the back of your mind despite your better judgment. Yet...he wasn't at all the way.
Chilchuck was mild-mannered, with a voice in an even tone and despite his race's common features, it was easy to tell he wasn't all that young. His hair was grey in places, and visible tear-throughs (wrinkles just beneath the eyes). Despite his professional demeanour, there was a sense of tiredness to him. Languished sighs and irritation at his fellow party members.
But he was kind enough to you. A bit of a smile while talking to you, or a careful piece of advice. Unlike everyone had said him to be, he seemed to have a good heart. From what you could tell, who knew, maybe it was just how professionals were on the island.
It'd been about a week since you last talked to him, his party had gone into the depths of the dungeon and not returned. It was concerning, but you weren't that close anyways...no use for your worries. A hope that he would come back safe is what you kept as you went on with your business.

A union representing Southwest Airlines flight attendants voted to authorize a strike Tuesday, after the members rejected a contract deal put forward by the union in December. The Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 556 announced that 98 percent of its members voted to authorize a strike, the first strike authorization in its history. The union represents more than 15,000 Southwest flight attendants across 11 different bases.

FYI: even if you have had a long hard think and decided you can’t risk getting arrested right now, there are still things you can do to support civil disobedience like an encampment/protest besides participating.
one of the simplest is to find out what their goals are (get the local university to divest? get a congressperson to act?) and call or write in support of those goals. if you can’t call, send an email. identify your relation (university alum, community member, constituency member) and express your support of [goal].
you can also go to the protest, ask what they need, and bring it to them. snacks, water, masks, tarps, garbage bags. do a grocery run.
if people are arrested, jail support is important. find out who’s doing jail support and offer to get trained to help.
donations are great (gazafunds will bring you to a random vetted gofundme) but if you don’t have money, there are other ways to help locally as well.

The union representing some transit employees in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland says disruptions could happen in January after members voted 100 per cent in favour of a strike mandate earlier this month. CUPE Local 4500, which represents more than 180 workers employed by the Coast Mountain Bus Company, says it kept the results of the Dec. 12 vote quiet until now “to avoid needless concern” about holiday season disruptions. President Chris Gindhu says in a statement Wednesday that the union is “working hard to avoid job action.”

#OTD in 1947 – Death of trade union leader and socialist activist, James Larkin.
Union Leader, James Larkin dies quietly (unlike his life) in Dublin. In a beautiful tribute, Playwright Sean O’Casey said of Big Jim, ‘He fought for the loaf of bread as no man before him had ever fought; but with the loaf of bread, he also brought the flask of wine and the book of verse.’ James Larkin was probably the most effective labour leaders in Irish history leading major strikes of 1907…

Casey Rittner Ennis. Transcripts and Depositions show it was testified that Casey was/ is a rank and file member of TWU 566.
Casey's own FB posts state otherwise.
Tumblr media
Casey did not win his bid for TWU 556 DEBM. Let's hope he doesn't win any offices at TWU 556 in the future.
Also, Casey Rittner Ennis opposed the Recall Petition and even brought charges against Recall Petition leader Jeanna Jackson.
More about the history of TWU 556 and its toxic leadership.
