My utterly correct and well-researched predictions for The Sims 5
no research has actually be done by me at all
EA will make the game a monthly subscription "service" which always needs to be online. There will of course be multiple subscription tiers with the higher tiers receiving some utterly mediocre clothes, hairs, furniture, Sims, you name it, paying lipservice to causes like diversity to make them seem important and un-missable (farm that FOMO). Lower tiers will have ads, a limited number of allowed mods/cc, and reduced graphics or some shit.
And of course there will be expansion packs, a staple of The Sims franchise, but you will need to pay for those too. Unless you subscribe to the platinum+ package, which includes a season pass. Of course there will always be certain cc packs that everybody will have to pay for, such as collaborations with big brands like D*sney, big fashion houses or IK*A. Occasionally there will be a freebie, but it will be a shitty print on a basegame T-shirt nobody cares for.
But that's not all! Not only will there be subscriptions, o no, there will be an ever bigger affiliate system. Basically an inbuilt multi-level management system (pyramid scheme) where people can sell their own mods/cc and recruit other people into their downline and make money of the mods they sell. They will give it a cutesy name, like Mod Families, Creator Visionaries, or Simgineers. There will be so many *shitty* mods, but since EA sits at the very top of the pyramid, there is absolutely no desire for quality control. You will see the same hair, with some added strands/removed strands/shorted/streaked/etc. edits over and over again. Of course there will be major fights and drama when the two biggest teams asset flip/convert create the same thing (some uninspired Second Life high poly blouse or something).
Anyway, I'm having a business meeting with EA next week and I'm very excited to share this plan with them.
P.S. Other features:
Extra in game currency like diamonds that people can use to buy even more junk for the game
Limit mods/cc to the Hub, you can't just put things in folders, it won't work
Sponsored events in the game, like a Simlish concert of K*ty P*rry or a Ad*das pop-up store in the mall
More social media integrations
An additional app for mobile devices where you play with your sims in a very limited way, but most importantly earn in game currency by doing stupid tasks, like playing games or watching ads
No pools in the basegame, that was a A+ decision in The Sims 4, so we're keeping that

Random ADLs that I can’t do or struggle with as a person with medium support needs ( Generally, not just relating to autism. Low-Medium support needs in relation to autism ). Also, tips!
[ note: I’m not a professional nor claim to be. I’m just your local transmasc trying to let some other folks know about things that have helped me ]
Ambulating — not much to say about this one, honestly mobility aids help with this one a lot from what I’ve heard ( can’t get them yet but I will eventually )
Dressing — find a fabric and your comfy with if it’s a sensory issues thing, sit down if you need to and if you do try to only stand when necessary, try getting adaptive clothing ( clothing that is made to be easier to wear for disabled folks who have trouble dressing ), and lastly; don’t be ashamed of needing assistance
Personal hygiene — do it when you can like when you’re having a better day and use alternative methods:
For tooth brushing; mouth wash, floss, use a damp cloth or wash cloth to get rid of food and plaque, use an extra soft toothbrush ( this will be labeled on the package usually ), use unflavored toothpaste or brush without toothpaste, sit down while you’re brushing if you need to. ( fun fact: you don’t need to do this one in the bathroom )
For showering; baths are the obvious ones, wet wipes, dry shampoo for hair, damp cloth or wash cloth even to just get the essential areas with, unscented deodorant, swapping out scented products for unscented products in general for sensory issues, shower chairs if you struggle standing up for that long, just wash your hair if you can, and there are a ton more alternatives and adaptation for mobility issues or sensory issues ( Here’s 10 for mobility issues from this article I found https://equip2adapt.com/blog/bathing-alternatives/ )
[ Remember that a lot of these alternatives can’t entirely replace any of these or are as good, they just keep you clean in between or keep you as clean as you can be ]
Continence ( in this case I’m talking mostly about incontinence ) — pads, liners, period underwear, diapers if you need them. If you have trouble telling when you need to go then I’d recommend scheduling bathroom breaks however often they fit into your schedule. ( I don’t have many tips for this one, sorry )
Shopping — headphones, fidgets, stims, sunglasses ( if you wear regular glasses then there are special frames that can have an attachment that is just sunglasses so you can have your regular glasses then on top is sunglasses ). If you can’t stand for too long or have pots or anemia — especially if the anemia is chronic — then a wheelchair or a rollator might help ( some can convert to wheelchairs but they aren’t self-propelled ). I know target has an app that gives you directions in stores ( If other stores have this then please tell me ) which might help if you can’t ask a staff member or don’t have the spoons to wander around looking. Make a list in advance so you know what you’re getting and can pick a place that has all of it so you don’t need to be going to multiple stores or getting there and realising they don’t have it . Plan the route you’re using to get there.
You can also don’t need to go in stores, order in groceries/get them for delivery if you can

If you struggle with reading, a text-to-voice reader can be really helpful
Here are text to voice programs I use in my every day life.
>>>>>Microsoft Edge Browser.
Edge has probably one of the best text-to-voice readers that I can find for free. You get to pick from a variety of different voices, and the voices sound natural.
The best part is that you don't even need to install any add-ons or widgets to use this feature. It is a default part of Edge.
To use it, you can click the A))) symbol that appears on the right side of the URL bar, or you can right click anywhere in the text and select "read aloud from here."
If you have a PDF file, you can download the PDF, and then in your file explorer, right click on the pdf and select "open with..." and select microsoft edge.
Edge does sometimes struggle a bit with PDFs in that it will pause at the end of every line break, but it works extremely well for basic websites.
This is an option that is available for use on a windows PC or any other PC compatable with Edge
There is an Edge mobile app, but I have found it buggy and a bit tricky to use.

Make sure you are using the most up-to-date version of Word.
You can access the read aloud feature under the "review" tab, or once again, you can right click on a highlighted word in the text and select "read aloud."
It has a male and female voice, which sound fairly natural. You can only use the "natural" voices when connected to the internet. When you are offline, it will read with a much clunkier robot voice instead.
Here I was actually able to open a PDF of a whole book, convert it into an editable word document, and then Word actually began reading it for me.

Above is the icon as it appears on your phone and in the Google Play store, and below is what the document reader looks like.

This app is pretty awesome because it comes with both a document reader and a web browser! You do not have to copy and paste text into the reader, and it can read pretty much any PDF or regular web page.
It had a robot voice and not a "natural voice" but I have gotten used to the robot voice of this app and it doesn't particularly bother me. You can adjust the pitch and speed of the voice too.
I use this app literally all the time. It is perfect for "reading" books while driving or working.
It's important to note that no text to speech reader is perfect. The technology has come a long way. But whatever program you use, there are always going to be words that it misinterprets, documents it can't process, or formatting that it finds confusing.
Another thing to note is that if you struggle with reading on your own or you struggle with attention problems, you do actually need to practice reading unassisted. You will get better at reading unassisted as you practice. You will train up your attention span slowly as you read more and more. So if reading is difficult I highly encourage you to not put EVERYTHING you read into a text to speech app. I am speaking as someone who has ADHD and I know that reading difficulties are not just something that magically goes away. But you can improve your reading abilities and you should try to improve your reading skills for your own wellbeing.
However that doesn't mean you have to struggle unassisted. Text to speech readers can absolutely expand the amount of texts that are accessible to you and better yet, they can give you more time to read because you can multitask as you absorb literature.

What they're doing is bullying Patreon into processing subscription payments through Apple's system so that Apple can charge their 30% app store fee, by threatening to remove Patreon from the app store if they don't. Patreon can't afford to swallow this loss (nor can they realistically just tell Apple where to stick it), so they have little choice but to pass it along to creators, who have the same devil's choice: keep their prices the same and absorb the loss, or pass it along to their subscribers by raising their prices. Patreon built a tool to help creators raise their prices only in the iOS app (if they so choose). If you subscribe through the website patreon.com, you and the creator both avoid this price increase. If all you have is your phone, you can still use your mobile web browser to subscribe. You don't need the app.
Unfortunately, Apple's demands are also forcing Patreon to convert all creators to subscription billing (each subscriber billed individually on their monthly anniversary date, no option for first-of-the-month or per-creation) just so they can continue to get new subscriptions through the iOS app. Probably there's no going back on that one even if everyone dropped the app like a hot potato this very instant and made it even slightly feasible for Patreon to consider just allowing themselves to get removed from the app store because "no one was using it". Although it's worth noting that Patreon had already been trying to force everyone to that model anyway.
Please don't use the Patreon app on any iPhone. Apple is charging Patreon users an additional 30% fee.
Patreon is the main source of income for many creators and not everyone can afford an extra 30% on top of what they're already paying.
This is 100% corporate greed and it hurts all of us. If you can avoid using the iPhone Patreon please do so.
