sometimes i feel like male partners purposely do a bad job so we’ll give up and stop asking them to help.

I can’t think anything else sometimes!  I’m pretty sure that this time wasn’t purposeful and I don’t think it’s always conscious (not that that makes it OK IN THE LEAST) but I think for sure it happens

and thank you @coolthoughts / @cherryseltzer for the validation on my feelings about it. it’s so hard to know, because the guy is sick all the time and that must suck but i can’t (or haven’t yet) come to an ethical decision where creating a situation where my mom is a ‘kept’ woman in his care (and under his rules) doesn’t raise red flags. and this isn’t the first time in the slightest - when this all started, she would relay things he said that she felt were deep and supportive, but i read as highly pompous and holier than thou. she recently started going back to school again and he told her she’s too old and maybe it’s not worth it. what the fuck?! when i was appalled she told me i just didn’t understand. 

i just don’t know what to DO about anything from here. ugh!
