Debut’s Plan, Episode 9: Semi-Finals! (Settle in, Folks.)
It’s going to be a stressful episode, K-pop fans. Welcome to the Debut’s Plan semi-final, where some trainees are definitely getting cut but one MIGHT be saved. I’m just going to drop my debit card in the swear jar for today. Let’s do this.
The semi-final aired live, and we are missing a LOT of subtitles during the live part. However, we do get a cool new stage and one thousand fans.

Our trainees perform songs from the show, and it’s high-energy and fun. After the performances, the episode officially kicks off with our emcee. And – HEY, it’s Jooheon! Jooheon is back! God, I can’t wait for the Monsta X comeback!

Jooheon proves right away to be the best emcee on all these live shows I’ve seen so far, and it’s not because I’m biased as a monbebe. He has the same uncertain pauses we’ve seen from all other hosts as he reads from the cards, but his natural charm and energy keeps this from looking like a hostage video. When things start to lag, he flashes that thousand-watt smile and waves his arms to encourage cheers. He was born to be onstage.
Like I said, a lot of the live segments aren’t translated. The script that Jooheon reads is translated, but all the unscripted talk isn’t. But I’ve seen enough of these live shows to know that when someone on the judging panel is speaking, they’re talking about how much the trainees have improved. I’m pretty sure Korean law dictates that’s all they’re allowed to talk about. If a judge accidentally lights his sleeve on fire, he can only scream about how much the trainees have improved while banging his arm on the table and grabbing frantically for his water glass. Trust me. We’re not missing anything.
Jooheon reminds us about the Super Pass. If the judges want to, they can save one eliminated trainee tonight. So now they pretty much have to. It would make for really bad television if the judges just said, “You’re right, none of them are worth saving. Bye!” That audience would swarm the table and beat them to death with their signs.
We learn that seven of the finalists tonight will be chosen by the fans, and seven by the panel. So that’s fourteen, plus one more if the Super Pass is used. That’s fourteen finalists in theory. Put a pin in this.
The screens in the arena cut to footage of the midterm evaluations the trainees had in preparation for tonight. We have some new celebrity judges! From the girl group IVE, we have Liz and Gaeul (we met Liz earlier on this show). And from the boy group Cravity, we have Serim and Taeyoung. (I’m excited. I love Cravity.) Finally, from girl group WJSN, we have Yeonjung and Dayoung.
Our Cravity guys recognize six-year Starship trainee Kim Ji Yong right away and wave to him. I’m glad he’s got that extra bit of support in the audience. He really needs to debut now. I don’t want to see him give up.

Team Step Up is performing first. My picks Park Won Bin, Wu Hao, and Kaira are on this team. We get a flashback in which the parts are distributed. This is a very, very long episode, so I won’t go into details on the flashbacks unless something important happens. That includes the standard Flashback Formula – we all know the drill by now.
The team performs the song, and right away, Kaira stumbles on the lyrics. Oof. Then Lee Tae Geon also forgets a line. This sets off a chain reaction until everyone is flubbing the lyrics. Then their dance formation falls apart. I’m sure this is the Flashback Formula again, but it’s painful to watch. It must be a bummer for our live audience to be watching this as well.
Speaking of the live audience, it’s time for the final live performance for Team Step Up. Let’s go, guys!

Of course, they nail it. Jooheon calls them to the front of the stage for the panel’s feedback. Nothing the panel says is translated, which is really frustrating, but I know everyone is saying they’ve improved. Moving on.
Next up is Team Sticky Bomb. “Just from the title alone,” Jooheon tells us, “you can feel the explosive energy!” I can also imagine the porno this would be the title for. Definitely something in the BL genre.
We get another flashback to the midpoint eval. This team includes my picks Jo Min Jae and Haru. They wow the judges with their rehearsal. They get some minor criticism and tell Haru he needs to stand out more. We then get some interesting footage in a recording studio as Haru struggles with his self-confidence and eventually overcomes it. End of flashback. Time to perform this vaguely obscene-sounding song in front of a thousand kids!

They’re so good. The panel talks about how much they’ve improved. None of it is translated, but I know the drill. The lack of subtitles is frustrating when Jooheon jokes with the trainees and the judges talk about specific trainees who are ranking high with them. I wonder if we’ll get English subtitles later for these segments.
Next up, Team Password, with my picks Jang Kyu Hyun, Kim Ji Yong, and Lee Jun Seo. We get a flashback to them choosing Jang Yong Hoon as their ID Member. Their midpoint eval goes great. They do their session in the recording studio. Now for the live stage.

We get some more untranslated commentary. I’m assuming they’ve all improved. The three performances are now done, and we still have two hours to go. I do love watching these survival reality shows, but the live finales can be a bloated mess.
The panel huddles to decide who will survive to go to the finals. While they do, we get a montage of special moments from the show and messages from the New Kids. Turns out there was a mailbox on the campus. The New Kids tells us about a legend that if you write a letter to a friend you most want to debut with and drop it in the mailbox, your wish will come true. Next week, the Starship Entertainment building will be buried under a mountain of letters from every hopeful trainee in South Korea.
This segment goes on for a loooooooong time. It really is sweet, but there’s only so much of this syrupy stuff I can take. I actually turned the sound off for several minutes and listened to my Kendrick Lamar playlist, just to get back to my regular cynical self. It made for an interesting viewing experience.

FINALLY this segment ends, and we are back at the live show. Our trainees are standing in formation around the stage, and I guess the judges still need time to decide because we get another song. It’s a lovely song. I’m just getting impatient. If this is just the semi-final, I can’t imagine how long the finale will be. The stress is taking its toll on the trainees. Those who make it to the finale will have to go through this all over again.

Jooheon takes the stage and says, “Before we announce the results of the Pre-Debut Evaluation, aren’t you curious which songs will be featured and how the teams will be – “ NO. Sorry to interrupt, Jooheon, but the answer is no. Just TELL US WHO WON. My legs are asleep. I can’t remember what day it is, and I’m pretty sure it’s my birthday. Just tell us who won SO I CAN HAVE MY LIFE BACK.
We get another flashback segment where the trainees learn what the finale songs will be, and this segment goes on forver, so I skip through it. We return to the live show. Jooheon tells the audience to vote for their favorite NewKids (I still really dislike that name) and promises that the finalists will be announced shortly.
Now K.Will talks about where they are in the voting process, and it’s not translated, so I don’t know what’s going on. But now we’re getting yet another video segment where the NewKids have prepared video letters to their future selves. My contact lenses actually dried out at this point, and I had to switch to my glasses. I lean on the fast-forward button again.
Now, finally, praise the K-pop gods, we are going to find out the finalists. This entire process drags on, so I’ll just give you the names. We’re starting with the seven chosen by the judges.
Jang Yong Hoon. Getting picked as the ID Member for Team Password was a smart move for our nineteen year-old trainee.
Jang Kyu Hyun. One of my pics! He’s one of the few trainees from the Yellow Team Beginner Group to make it past the first episode.
Kim Min Jae. Also nineteen and close friends with fellow finalist Jang Yong Hoon. They’re moving up together.

Jang Yoon Hoon, Jang Kyu Hyun, and Kim Min Jae
Chu Yoo Chan. Wow. One of the open audition contestants. He had previously left Starship and then returned for this show. He might debut, thanks to that decision.
Just to give you an idea of how much they’re dragging this out, we still have an hour to go.
Lee Tae Geon. Another open audition contestant.
Park Jun Hwan. When this seventeen year-old joined the show, he’d only been training for five months, after his parents refused to let him be a baseball player.
Kim Ji Yong. Our six-year Starship Legend trainee. I’ve been rooting for this guy since Day One. He is overwhelmed and struggles to say his thanks through tears.

Chu Yoo Chan, Lee Tae Geon, Park Jun Hwan, and Kim Ji Yong
Now for the seven voted in by the fans. I can’t believe the judges didn’t pick Park Won Bin. Hopefully the fans saved him. And Haru. And Kaira.
Jeong Se Min. Sixteen years old. Another Yellow Team Beginner Group member.
Jang Yong Hoon, again. Okay, so we found out earlier than some fan choices may overlap with judge choices. Here’s our first one. And yes, they make him do another thank-you speech. This episode may never end.
Kim Min Jae, again. Another overlap. He and his bestie now both share this honor.
Jang Kyu Hyun, again. Are they all going to overlap? How will this affect the final number of finalists? I am so confused. And tired. Very, very tired.
Park Won Bin. Finally. I can’t believe it took this long to call his name. He’s the second longest training member at Starship, and now he may finally debut.
Baek Jun Hyuk. He just looks exhausted at this point. He had a poor showing at the beginning of this series and kept improving. Now he needs to sleep for a couple of days.
Wu Hao. His passionate performances made him one of my picks early on.

Jeong Se Min, Park Won Bin, Baek Jun Hyuk, and Wu Hao
So that’s it. Because three trainees overlapped, only eleven will go to the finale, unless the judges use the Super Pass to save someone.
Of course they use it. The judges save Park Seong Hyeon. He missed two episodes due to illness and has been working so hard to make up for it. He barely claws his way to the finale, thanks to the mercy of the judges.

I’m stunned at some of these eliminations. Like Jo Min Jae. Our Six Singers Family Trainee has lost again. He deserves so much better than this.
And both Kaira and Haru. I can’t believe neither made it in. That makes zero sense.
Not to mention Lee Jun Seo. He’s the first trainee we met on the show. Our Timothée Chalamet of Starship. He’d only been a trainee for a year when he started this show, but I loved his voice and hoped he’d at least make it to the finale.
I’m not so surprised about fourteen year-old show maknae Lee Woo Ju. Our baby-faced trainee did really well, but he’s just not ready yet.

Lee Jun Seo and Jo Min Jae

Kaira and Haru
I’m heartbroken for my eliminated favorites. I’ve been avoiding social media all day while I took notes on this episode. I feel like when I open Reddit tomorrow morning, I’ll be slammed against the wall by an avalanche of viewer protests.
I’m off to bed. Don’t forget to keep voting – you can now vote for seven NewKids at newkids.co.kr. And for those who wish to vent, there’s Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (I refuse to call it anything else), Bluesky, maybe Wattpad if you run out of options. I’m still on LiveJournal if you want to vent in my comments section.
I’ll read the viewer comments at some point, but not tonight. Enough. Good night.

Cravity’s League of the Universe Theory Update 2
Liberty: In Our Cosmos, New Wave & Hidden Dungeon
Hello! My name is Ori and I’m back with another update for the Cravity theory (part 1 and part 2). This one is going to be pretty short as not a great deal has happened since the last update. The exciting news is we have an official power list that we can focus on now. However, as I mentioned in another post, I won’t be doing these theories as “pretty” as I did before because the research, writing, editing, and compiling of all the pictures took way too much time and effort, which was preventing me from finishing any theories at all ‘cause I was often too tired to work on them. I’ll still include pictures if I consider them super necessary, but otherwise it’ll be mostly text.
Let’s start with the theory!
Liberty: In Our Cosmos Concept Film
As we’ve discussed before, the official MVs for the title tracks don’t count in the theories. Back in our first update for the theory I talked about how The Awakening could be referencing Allen waking up at the end of the Hidden Film, and a turning point in the story line, but nothing quite came out of that.
The Concept trailer for L:IOC offers up new narration, which we hadn’t seen in a bit. We hear Allen’s voice telling us about how they found liberty in the new world they created, while showing us different miscellaneous scenes that seem to have no weight to the story (though I do think that some of them might have references to other characters in a way? Like Serim with the photography, which is associated with Hyeongjun). Allen also mentions how that place represents the freedom they had been looking for, and that it’s a place where they can be together (and with us) forever.
The fact that it is Allen narrating this (beyond the fact that he is the English speaker of the group) fits really well with his character, considering he writes the word “freedom” in his questionnaire for career counseling. It also fits considering his visions seem to guide him to happiness.
New Wave Concept Film + Instagram Posts
I think I can speak for most of us when I say that the concept trailer for New Wave was not how we were expecting to return to the whole story, but it’s what we got. Before we discuss the video, however, we must talk about the Instagram Posts in The Hidden Universe account, as they happen before the video itself.
First, Wonjin says he left a message for the members in the Seoul Tower, and mentions it was the place where they first met. In the next post, Minhee is the one to find the message. We get a very difficult to read picture of it, which I attempted to translate on twitter and now I’ll copy that “translation” in here so you can have it too. It seems to read:
“Hi! I came because I missed you. (Illegible) Don’t we have a story here? Are you just mistaken? (Might be the wrong verb…) Anyways (?) if you hear my voice, come here! I can’t wait to see who will come first tomorrow. See you soon. -Wonjin-”
After that, in the third post, Minhee meets with Serim and tells him that Wonjin called them. He then shows Serim what he (Minhee) saw, presumably through Serim’s power, which we’ve said before allows him to see the memories of other people.
The next post kind of breaks the narrative a little, as we see Allen waking up and saying he had a dream and that they must go. It is unclear, but this could be a continuation from the Epilogue Film of Hideout Season 3, in which Minhee is calling to Allen and telling him to wake up. It’s not a perfect match, though, but it’s as close as we get.
The following three posts overlap with the New Wave Concept FIlm. They meet with Allen at the house-not-house that has the bus stop inside, take the bus into the wormhole thing, and travel into a new world, where Allen welcomes us (in the Instagram post). It is very likely the same world mentioned in the L:IOC Concept Film.
The Elephant in the Room: Is there another version of Cravity?
I mean… the video points to yes, my heart begs no. An alternate dimension is one thing, and while I’m a bit tired of dimensional/time-space travel in k-pop, I prefer it way more to an alternate version of Cravity, because that’s opening a whole new can of worms and I’m not sure how to even approach that theory! Plus technically the new dimension has been hinted at since the beginning of their concept so… Who knows though.
Hidden Dungeon: Official Power List
Hidden Dungeon: Cicada 3301 was a Universe exclusive program consisting of 10 episodes of pure madness and nonsense. In it, the members are part of Hidden School, a school that teaches people how to use their powers and then puts them through a very difficult exam to see if they can graduate. It’s loosely based off of Cicada 3301, a supposed secret organization that posted three challenges between 2012 and 2014 to recruit people for… something.
Now, obviously, I don’t think any of this is cannon except for the power list, and that’s simply because all the powers match what we’ve seen in the official Cravity videos, save for Seongmin, whose power I got wrong, and Hyeongjun, whom I just simply had no idea what his power was. I also don’t have the full context of what happened in that program because I had to watch it without subtitles, so I might be missing some details.
This is the official list from the show compared to what I wrote in the previous post of the theory
Serim: Memory sharer / People-focused psychometry - Basically the same thing, he sees the memories of others.
Allen: Precognition / Precognition through dreams- Same thing
Jungmo: Animal Communication / Animal Telepathy - Also same thing
Woobin: Healer / Accelerated Healing - Still pretty much the same thing, though the limits of his powers remain unexplored
Wonjin: Telepathy / Telepathy - lol
Minhee: Psychometry / Future-focused psychometry - The show only calls it psychometry, which eliminates the limitation of him only seeing the future. The limits of this power are now unclear but I’ll refer to it as only psychometry from now on.
Hyeongjun: Power Replication / Not identified - Finally we have confirmation to what he can do! Apparently he can replicate the powers of others. We don’t know the limits of his powers since we’ve only seen him replicate Taeyong’s (or at least not being affected by his power) but I hope we can figure out more in the future.
Taeyoung: Time Stopper / Time Stopping - wheeze yeah
Seongmin: Tool Master / Enhanced accuracy and precision - I thought it was that because the only instance of his power we see is him throwing the darts, but apparently he only nailed all of them because he can use every tool to its full potential when in his hands. But now the epilogue of S3 makes more sense with him repairing the radio thingy.
Conclusions
The new world they step into in New Wave has been hinted at since the beginning, I mean, it’s called “The Hidden Universe”, so maybe it shouldn’t have been as unexpected as it was.
It appears to me that there are other instances of powers aside from the boys, since that portal had to come from somewhere (it might even be the source of their stones). This also opens the possibility of more people having powers aside from them.
It is unclear where we are going from here on out, but things are definitely getting interesting. I’ve yet to translate the character profiles from the special photobook they released, because the Korean is too advanced for me. If any Korean-speaking luvities would like to help me translate them to add to the theory, then please hit me up!
I’ll see you in the next theory, bye!

hi hi pal!!! how do you do? i hope it's nice fall weather these days for you! it's time for some good jackets and sweaters around here. also!!! i wanted to ask! do you enjoy the bts hyyh universe works? or txt star seekers? i love reading the theories behind those stories, and seeing references in their mv's!! they're just so intricate :o oh!! and cravity has a whole universe as well, what are your thoughts on them? :DD
Hello! Not too cold over here but its enough for sweater weather which is 75% of my wardrobe so 😎 I dont really follow txt or cravity so I havent learned their storylines but absolutely yes I love groups having their own universe! Bts introduced me to connecting all the mvs into one universe with hyyh and boy did I hyperfixate on it so bad when I was first in it 😂 I'm not really one to make the theories though but I do have some thoughts after reading other people's theories lol It just adds depth and consistency and it feeds my soul and although I understand the "open to interpretation" part I wish they told us which theories were right. It makes me curious as to who writes this and like how does the process work? Its just so interesting 😊

Cravity’s League of the Universe Theory UPDATE
Season 3 Hideout: Be Our Voice & The Awakening: Written in the Stars
Hello! My name’s Ori and I write k-pop theories and fanfics and today I’m revisiting my Cravity theory cause apparently I didn’t update for Hideout Season 3 even though I thought I had lol This is going to be a mini update since there isn’t much to add, but let’s get right into it.
Arc 1: Hideout Season 3 Main Plot Points
During the prologue of Season 3 we finally get to see more about Woobin, Seongmin and Minhee. At the beginning they hear their names being called by Wonjin, who’s probably using his power to convince them to meet the others. Then we get to see a little of their private lives.
First Woobin is studying in his room when he spots a dead butterfly and revives it. He then tries to take the elevator to leave his apartment building but he ends up getting too scared and gives up; the instagram account also confirms his fear of elevators. He then presumably leaves to spend some time at the arcade. From Minhee, we get to see how carefully he cleans and takes care of his room, making sure even the smallest object is in place, before his alarms sound and he has to get ready to leave.
[Gif: Woobin picks up a dead butterfly, the scene cuts and we see the butterfly flying again.]
Seongmin is at the bus stop at night, waiting for it. We know from the Instagram posts he doesn’t want to go home so ends up choosing to go to the arcade and he forgets his cellphone. Minhee finds the cellphone and upon touching it discovers Seongmin’s plans and goes to meet him there. At the arcade, Seongmin struggles to play with the dart, but when he closes and opens his eyes again, suddenly he’s nailing every single shot.
[Gif 1: Minhee picks up Seongmin’s cellphone at the bus stop and has a vision of Seonming playing with darts and failing all his shorts.
Gif 2: Seongmin is at the arcade playing darts, he closes his eyes and after he opens them he does a perfect shot.]
Minhee arrives during this and gives Seongmin his cellphone, which is when they notice they both have similar stones. Woobin also notices this and joins them. They notice Seongmin’s injured hands and Woobin heals him, revealing his power to them.
[Screenshot: Woobin standing with his back to the camera. His arm is up as he shows Seongmin and Minhee his stone.
Gif: Woobin grabs Seongmin’s injured hands in his and his hands start to shine as he heals Seongmin. The scene fades to white with the light coming from his hands.]
After a cutscene, we see the other six at their hideout. Wonjin is explaining that Seongmin and Minhee are a year younger than them and that Woobin is his and Hyeongjun’s classmate. He also mentions already calling them and Allen adds that he’s dreamt of them as well. Finally, the three of them arrive and introduce themselves.
[Instagram screenshot: A picture of a table with pictures of Minhee, Seongmin and Woobin sprawled on it. The caption reads “The friends from Allen’s dream that he talked about. Friens that Allen introduced to me. I’m sure they could hear my voice will they? Finally today! #photo taken by Hyeonjun
Screenshot from Epilogue: The nine members sitting around a table in their hideout.]
In the epilogue, they’re all spending time together at the hideout. Wonjin and Taeyoung are talking. Seongmin is repairing something for Hyeongjun. Serim, Jungmo and Minhee are with Revue when Jungmo tests Serim’s power by asking him what is the color of the third cloth in his wardrobe. Serim correctly guesses it’s a purple hoodie. We also confirm Jungmo’s ability to communicate with animals. Finally, Woobin is asking Allen if he can predict which team will win tomorrow’s game, to which Allen responds that’s not how his power works, before they’re interrupted by Seongmin asked to be healed by Woobin.
The scene cuts to them playing a board game. Taeyoung tries to cheat by freezing time but Hyeongjun discovers and stops him. Suddenly, Allen looks up and all the lights around them begin to turn off before they look at the camera and the final light goes out. Then, Allen wakes up to Woobin calling him. Finally, in the Hidden Film we see all but Seongmin and Minhee celebrating their graduation.
[Gif: The members look around as the lamps they were using for light start to turn off on their own.]
What is happening?
Before we update the character profiles let’s talk a little bit about what’s going on. First of all, they’ve finished reuniting and Hideout is over just as we had predicted. This means the stasis stage of the story is over and now we need a trigger. While I think that The Awakening: Written in the Stars is sort of a little break while they work on the next part of the story, because we didn’t get any films or updates on the Instagram account, I also think that the title has more meaning to it than that.
First of all, the simple phrase “the awakening” already feels like a trigger because the word itself alludes to the start of something. I also think it might be literally referencing Allen waking up from the vision he has in the Season 3 Epilogue. Yes, I’m pretty sure the whole last scene is a vision, and while it’s a little different, it does preserve that 4th-wall-breaking aspect we’ve seen in some of his visions before, so it’s not a stretch.
What does this mean for them? Well, simply put, danger is coming, and whether they like it or not, they might have to start learning real soon how to better use their abilities. To be honest, I’m still not sure Starship is gonna go full superhero on them, because most of their powers are very passive, but we’ll see!
Updating the profiles
Now that we know a bit more about our last three characters, let’s summarize what we know and then make a list with their powers.
Minhee
He is an extreme perfectionist, to the point that every single thing must have its place and it seems that he has a very detailed routine to keep order in his room. We can also see that he has quite a lot of alarms that establish the order of his day. He doesn’t seem to have an adverse reaction to disorder though, and simply seems to enjoy the act of keeping his space clean and perfect, because we don’t see him do that with the hideout.
[Instagram screenshot: A picture of a perfectly organized shelf with the caption “Neat and tidy. Finished cleaning up my room.”]
Seongmin
Seongmin hates being home, to the point we don’t even get to see his house in any of the videos. He doesn’t mention it in the videos but he’s pretty verbal about it in the Instagram posts. It is quite likely he has a bad relationship with his parents and he seems to wander around a lot. He is also extremely prone to getting injured apparently. Someone help the lost puppy.
[Instagram screenshot: A picture of Seongmin sitting on a bench at a bus stop with the caption “Not yet... don’t wanna go home like this, should I go there again?”]
Woobin
Woobin lives in an apartment complex and he seems to be a good student. The one thing that definitely stands out about him is his fear of using the elevator. It’s still unknown if it comes from any particular elevator-related trauma or if maybe he has major claustrophobia caused by something that isn’t specifically related to elevators. However, he’s pretty terrified of them and although he’s been trying to overcome it, it hasn’t worked for him at all.
[Instagram screenshot: A picture of Woobin’s hand as he presses the button to call the elevator with the caption “Please, just for today...”]
The powers
Finally, the list:
Serim - People-focused psychometry, he obtains information about others, seemingly by accessing their knowledge and memories. So far his ability has only been seen with the members.
Allen - Precognition through dreams, he has dreams in which he’s able to see the future. All dreams seem to be tied to the members so far.
Jungmo - Animal Telepathy, he’s able to understand and communicate with animals.
Woobin - Accelerated Healing, so far we’ve seen him heal small injuries and bring back to life small creatures.
Wonjin - Telepathy, he can communicate with others through the mind, even if they’re far away. So far his ability has only been seen with the members.
Minhee - Future-focused psychometry, this one is still in doubt since we’ve only seen him use it once, but he seems to be able to see the future of the person who last touched the object.
Hyeongjun - Legit, no idea, what is your deal, child?
Taeyoung - Time stopping, he’s able to completely stop time for everyone else except Hyeongjun. He can continue moving and doing things normally when he does it.
Seongmin - Enhanced accuracy and precision, again this one is still in doubt since we’ve only seen him use it once, but he seems to be able to perfectly nail every shot he makes.
Conclusions
Cravity might actually be in danger, depending on what Allen’s vision meant. One thing is for sure though, the story is starting to move forward. On the other hand, someone help me with Hyeongjun, I accept suggestions.

Cravity’s League of the Universe Theory

Hello everyone~ My name’s Riza and I am back, breaking my head, with yet another kpop theory. I said I was gonna release this one as soon as Cravity released the Epilogue to Hideout Season 2, but I didn’t. So… yeah. Here I am.
For this theory we’ll be looking at the prologue and epilogue of both seasons, as well as the Instagram account @/the_hidden_universe. We won’t be paying attention to the MVs of the albums’ tracks because so far, they seem irrelevant to the plot, but maybe we’ll be looking at them in the future. All the gifs, picture edits and translations in this post are mine, so let me know if you plan to use them. Let us start.
Arc 1: Hideout - Main Plot Points
I’ve decided to treat Cravity’s story sort of like you would a comic. We will have different story arcs, each of which will be divided in volumes or seasons. Our first arc is the Hideout arc, which currently has two seasons: Remember Who We Are (Season 1) and The New Day We Step Into (Season 2).
During the prologue of Season 1 we are introduced to a highschool, to which the Cravity members go. It is not clearly established, but it seems like for story purposes, all of them are in the same grade (although not necessarily in the same classroom). All of them appear to be loners, except Hyeongjun and Taeyoung, who seem to have known each other since before.
As the narration says, it was a normal day for them, with the typical anxieties and worries that come with being a high schooler. However, that day, a message came from the “unknown” and marked their beginning. In the video, we see all of them making their way to school or already being there. Meanwhile, the news is reporting on a meteorite shower. As the meteorites get closer to where they are, they all lose their consciousness.
[First gif: News reports about a meteorite shower.
Second gif: The Cravity members are shown passed out in different places.]
Afterwards, we get to see how Serim, Jungmo and Wonjin become friends, by following a dog that seems to be Jungmo’s deceased pet, somehow. Their meeting has nothing of normal to it, but we’ll be discussing that a little bit later once we dive into their abilities. It is unclear how much time passes between the meteorite shower and their meeting, but it’s safe to assume it’s not the same day.
[First gif: Serim and Jungmo chase a golden retriever.]
[Second gif: Wonjin is painting a picture of Serim, Jungmo and him together. He turns around to see Serim and Jungmo are standing behind him.]
In the epilogue of Season 1, we see Allen having a dream of the nine of them together. When he awakes, he sees Hyeongjun and Taeyoung from the window, walking home. He presumably recognizes them from his dream and asks the driver to stop the car. However, when he gets out, it’s already too late and they’ve left.
[Gif: Allen wakes up from a dream about the Cravity members all together. He sees Hyeongjun and Taeyoung through his window.]
The prologue of Season 2 (my favorite video so far) starts with another one of Allen’s dreams, with the nine of them together as friends and the narration explaining how he’s trying to find them. We also get introduced to the chaotic duo of Hyeongjun and Taeyoung. They’re best friends.
[First gif: Allen wakes up from another dream about the Cravity members all together.
Second gif: Hyeongjun is filling out a questionnaire and Taeyoung takes it from him, playfully. Hyeongjun recovers it.]
Taeyoung seems to excel in everything he does: he is in the basketball team and is praised by his friends during math class. However, he’s not satisfied and lacks a goal. Hyeongjun, on the other hand, knows he wants to become a photographer and spends most of his time taking pictures of Taeyoung (adorable, if you ask me).
[Gif: Taeyoung is playing basketball while Hyeongjun takes pictures of him.]
As the video moves forward, we see Allen coming out of his classroom to encounter Serim, Jungmo and Wonjin outside. Taeyoung is a little bit further down the hallway, and as he moves, time slows down to a full stop around him. He moves forward until he’s in front of the rest, and grabs Wonjin’s hand to look at his bracelet (more on those later). Hyeongjun comes out running and calls his name, breaking the spell.
[Gif: Time has stopped. Taeyoung is standing in front of Allen, Serim, Wonjin and Jungmo. He grabs Wonjin’s left hand to see the purple stone bracelet he’s wearing. The stone begins to glow. Hyeonjun comes out from a room in a hurry and calls Taeyoung. Everything begins to move again.]
Time starts running again, and Taeyoung and Hyeongjun both get a nosebleed as they try to understand what just happened to them. The other four help them, and we see Woobin glance at them as he walks up the stairs to the rooftop. This takes us to the epilogue, where we see Seongmin, Minhee and Woobin become friends at the rooftop as they hide away from the professor in what is certainly the most adorable video so far.
The Characters and Their Abilities
Serim
After the meteorite shower, Serim is the first character we meet. Although his stone hasn’t been shown yet, we know that his color is light orange from the Instagram account. The cat he is friends with apparently has another friend, Jungmo, and that is how they meet. When he touches Jungmo’s hand, he is able to see his memories of the deceased dog. Plus, Serim is shown in an old looking room, which probably belonged to someone dear to him, as he says “I miss you” in an Instagram post. It might be safe to assume that his ability is related to looking into the past of other people, and maybe even things.

[Instagram post: A picture of Jungmo playing with the cat. Caption written by Serim reads: I’m not the only friend of that cat, there is another-]
[Gif: Serim takes Jungmo’s hand and sees a vision of Jungmo with his dog, who passed away.]

[Instagram post: A picture of a room filled with antiques. Caption written by Serim reads: I miss you.]
Jungmo
Jungmo’s stone hasn’t been shown either, but from the Instagram posts we know it’s pink. Jungmo is introduced to us through the cat we mentioned before, who, we learn through Instagram, is named Cheese. Jungmo says that the cat is “the one who’s been calling for him all this time”, and also that “Cheese is more noisy than I thought”. Adding that to how easy it seems to be for him to bond with animals, it could be that his ability is to communicate with them or hear their thoughts.

[Instagram post: A picture of an orange cat lying on the asphalt. Caption written by Jungmo reads: So the one who’s been calling me all this time is you, Cheese.]

[Second Instagram post: A picture of the same orange cat lying on asphalt while a hand pets it. Caption written by Jungmo reads: Cheese is a lot noisier/louder than I thought.]
Wonjin
Wonjin’s stone is shown once in the prologue from Season 2, when Taeyoung grabs his wrist, so we know that it is purple. In the prologue to Season 1, Wonjin is shown to have a dog, whose name seems to be Revue (I’m not certain how to… romanize its name, it’s quite unique). Revue looks quite similar to Jungmo’s dog, to the point even Serim questions it in one of the posts, but they might not be the same. While his ability is still uncertain, we know through the Instagram posts that Wonjin was told by A (Allen) that he would get new friends. Revue brings Jungmo and Serim to Wonjin, and they become friends. A even asks him in the same post if he met them, and Wonjin confirms it.

[First Instagram post: A picture of a Golden Retriever lying on the asphalt. Caption written by Wonjin reads: My unique/only friend! #Revue]

[Second Instagram post: A picture of Serim standing in front of Cheese the cat. Caption written by Serim reads: Is this dog the same as that dog?]

[Instagram post: A picture of Wonjin looking at his cellphone while leaning on white stairs. Caption written by Wonjin reads: A told me I would meet some friends. Who is it Revue?
Comment by Allen reads: Did you meet them?
Reply by Wonjin reads: Yes, I did.]
Allen
Allen is, perhaps, the member we know the most about. His stone is shown to be red, and his ability is to see dreams of the future. In the Instagram page he first says how he keeps meeting them in his dreams, but then he explains how after he told Wonjin he would meet some friends, it actually happened, and then they became friends too. He mentions how he keeps seeing other people in his dreams, and wonders if that will become true or not. Finally, he says he had another dream, in which he looked happy. Allen is unhappy because his parents are strict and want him to become a doctor, but he just wants to be free.

[Instagram post: A picture of the Cravity members sitting together in front of a wall covered with newspaper. Caption written by Allen reads: A dream. I keep meeting them.]

[Instagram post: A picture of Allen looking at his red stone. Caption written by Allen reads: After I told Wonjin he would meet some friends, he really met them. It’s really interesting how I saw it in a dream, and after telling Wonjin I also became friends with them. One two, after that I keep seeing others in my dreams. Are they only dreams? If not, will I be able to meet them?]

[Instagram post: A picture of some stairs, with people coming down from them. Caption written by Allen reads: I had a dream. The dream was only a few minutes long, but it felt like a whole day. The dreams are as clear as reality and in them I look so happy.]
Taeyoung
According to the Instagram posts, Taeyoung’s stone would be dark green. Taeyoung is shown to be a very successful kid, he is good in his classes and also part of the basketball team. However, he doesn’t have any dreams for himself. We also know from the Instagram posts that his ability is to stop time, in one post he says “Today I stopped time for 15.39 seconds and I was fine at first, but the longer I do it I get dizzy, if I make it longer it’ll be okay right?”. He is also aware of the stones the others have, and is trying to research more about it without telling anyone.

[Instagram post: A picture of an energy drink, an energy bar and a chocolate bar. Caption written by Taeyoung reads: Today I stopped the time for 15.39 seconds. At first I was okay, but as it went on for longer I got dizzy. It’ll be okay if I make it longer, right? #To make it 20 seconds #I’ll eat an energy bar #Today’s Taeyoung pic]

[Instagram post: A picture of Wonjin’s purple stone bracelet. Caption written by Taeyoung: I saw another one like mine. This is the fifth one. I want to see it properly but I don’t know how. Is there no other method but that one in order to check? I must confirm it the next time I see it.]

[Instagram post: Four people wearing white and black highschool uniforms standing in front of each other. Caption written by Taeyoung reads: With me it’s 6 people. Is this it? Or are there more? How on Earth did Hyeongjun do that? My head hurts.]

[Instagram post: A picture of Taeyoung at a convenience store looking at a beverage. Caption written by Taeyoung: I’m so curious I couldn’t sleep yesterday. No matter what, I have to confirm it. I have to meet Hyeongjun.
Comment by Hyeongjun: I was so scared I couldn’t sleep either… Why did time… Do you know something? I’m on my way to the convenience store so wait for me there! Let’s talk about it!]
Hyeongjun
Hyeongjun’s stone color would be light/lime green, as seen both in the Instagram posts and in the prologue for Season 2. Hyeongjun is a generally clueless character so far. He is Taeyoung’s best friend, and contrary to him, he does know what he wants to do when he graduates. Hyeongjun wants to be a photographer. His ability is still unclear, but it is quite possible it’s related to time and he somewhat “shares” it with Taeyoung. He seems to be invulnerable to Taeyoung’s ability, and even Taeyoung himself is confused by this. His first interaction with the abilities seems to have been that event with Taeyoung.

[Instagram post: A picture of a questionnaire, a camera and a triangle bibimbap. Caption written by Hyeongjun reads: While I wait for Taeyoung I’ll answer the questionnaire! #The questionnaire is delivered tomorrow #Waiting for Kim Taeyoung
Comment by Taeyoung reads: I’m almost there!]
Minhee
Not much is known about Minhee’s character yet, but we know his stone color is blue. Minhee is always shown quite frustrated and with a manual step counter. In the Instagram posts he is shown questioning what the stone is.

[Instagram post: A picture of Minhee in the middle of a field, holding his manual step counter. Caption written by Minhee reads: I’m frustrated.]

[Instagram post: A picture of Minhee sitting on stone stairs and looking at his blue stone. Caption written by Minhee reads: What am I looking at?]
Seongmin
Seongmin’s stone color is yellow and he uses a drone. Not much else is known.

[Instagram post: A picture of Seongmin walking on the street while looking at his phone. He has earphones on. Caption written by Seongmin reads: Today is a calm morning. I like school a little bit more than home.]
Woobin
Woobin’s stone color is orange, and that’s about all we know from him.

[Instagram post: A picture of Seongmin, Minhee and Woobin crouching in front of a red brick wall. Caption written by Woobin reads: 200807 The day we first met]
The Concept
Here I’ll be answering some questions that I think might explain the core of their concept.
Why League of the Universe?
This name immediately reminds us of superheroes. Cravity in general has a concept related to space/physics (Creativity + Gravity, Center of Gravity), they were even going to be called something like Earth Boys. They are already developing some sort of powers in the story, so maybe in the future they’ll become something like superheroes. Although I don’t think it’ll be something flashy, I do definitely think they’ll start developing their abilities later on (Taeyoung is already working on it).
[Gif: The League of the Universe Logo. A black circle outlined by a silver line. More lines appear to make a sphere and then the words League of the Universe appear.]
Why Hideout?
A hideout is a safe place for hiding, a place to gather away from curious eyes. Every team of superheroes has a hideout, be it the Stark Tower or the Hall of Justice, and it’s usually the first thing you should work on if you’re trying to keep a secret. Hideouts are a place where people gather, so I believe the name refers to their beginning and their coming together.
What do the abilities represent?
I’ve known Starship to be a company that keeps the group and their concepts separate outside of official videos. Things like time travel and abilities aren’t usually mentioned outside of the main content. However, one thing Starship does is give its stories a double purpose. On one hand, what we see on the screen is real inside the universe (namely, Cravity having powers and Monsta X time-travelling), but it also represents a part of human nature.
For Cravity, I think it comes to the fears of growing up. Overall, Cravity started as a group with a lot of minor members (under 20, according to Korean age), so it makes sense that they’re placed in the last year of high school: the brink between adolescence and adulthood. In the videos we see them deal with the frustrations of not wanting to be what their parents say or not knowing what their dreams are. Loss and hope are both abundant.
I think their powers are lessons of how to deal with what torments them. For example, Allen is unhappy with his parents’ wishes, and then he starts having dreams that guide him to happiness. For him, a source of happiness and support will be the people he sees in his dreams. Taeyoung doesn’t have a dream, and his time to decide what to do with his life is running out, so his ability is to stop everything going around him. I believe we’ll get to see more relationships like this as we learn more about the other members.
Conclusion: What can we expect next?
I think it’s safe to assume that we can expect one more season of Hideout. In this season we’ll probably see them all come together and we might get introduced to a couple more powers. Hopefully we’ll also get more information on Minhee, Seongmin and Woobin. If it goes well, we’ll also get to see them find themselves a Hideout. I’m really excited to see how their story progresses, since this group means a lot to me.
Thank you all for joining me in this theory. I hope you enjoyed it! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me, either here or on my Twitter (@/soft_bluenicorn) or on my CuriousCat, which is the same as my Twitter. And now, to go work on my TxT theory.

Hi! I loved your theories on the Cravity universe! Was there ever an official confirmation about the different powers that each member's character has? :o
I think so! There is a Universe App series in which the powers are mentioned, but I haven’t been able to watch it cause I can’t afford a Universe subscription right now, but I’m planning on getting a one month subscription soon so I can see for myself haha
