I am all moved into my new sewing room, and I'm finally ready to start on the petticoat for my Robe a la Francaise. I'm using this super inaccurate polyester crinkle satin (cue embarrassment 😳). I picked and purchased my fabrics last November prior to fully researching appropriately. I am considering this a wearable muslin, and I will be making another using historically accurate fabric in the future. I also now know that historically accurate fabrics (silk, cotton, linen, etc.) can be affordable, and even less expensive than synthetic fabric with the right sales and shopping around. Meet our post-holiday outfit. We're staying cozy today in our Beetle Sweatshirt Dress in Brushed Terry and our leather leggings. These amazingly soft sweatshirts are available in sand melange, ink and black. Brushed Terry fabric is cotton mixed with lyocell, a biodegradable, natural fiber created from cellulose plants and wood pulp. Our Japanese supplier produced both the textile and final garment, reducing carbon emissions and the length of the production cycle.
