On Dracula's part the fact that he did call him Alucard is actually so nice? Like I don't condone the whole genocide thing but in my humble opinion I think respecting your son's chosen name even if it's literally meant to be an attack on you of sorts is like pretty rad

39. Kissing tears from the other’s face.

17. Tucking their hands beneath the other person’s shirt, just to watch them break the kiss and gasp in surprise at the sensation of cold/warm hands on their skin.

In the few days and weeks after their betrayal, it took a while for him to get used to before. You stayed vigilant. Any moment felt as if you were walking on eggshells, waiting for the moments that snuck up on him.

It happened during lunch one afternoon. He had been sitting at the table eating slowly before he pause just for a moment, looking down at the scars that covered his arm.

It started off as soft sniffle, then he felt his eyes burn, and his shoulders slowly started to shake before Alucard buried his head in his hands. Right at the moment, you slowly walked over to him, carefully and ever so gently placing a hand on his shoulder while your free one held onto his hand.

You pushed back the sleeve from his arm, carefully tracing the marks as you held his hand. He gasped softly as you caressed him, a small whimper as you lifted it to your lips for a kiss as well.

You got up from your seat next to him and moved closer. Brushing the hair from his face, you held his head in your hands as you tried to suppress your own tears.

Leaning down, you gently kissed and wiped away the tears that stained his face. The grip tightened on you as he looked at you with that desperation and sorrow that tore at your heart. In an attempt, you thought your words would reach him.

“Don’t let them take your life from you. I’m here for you, with you. Don’t let them in.”
