“I still have sufficient grace to shudder at Sorcery, and avoid a crime so monstrous, so unpardonable!” “Unpardonable, say you? Where then is your constant boast of the Almighty’s infinite mercy? . . . Away then with these childish scruples: Be persuaded to your good, and follow me to the Sepulchre.” “. . . I will not follow you to the Sepulchre, or accept the services of your infernal Agents. Antonia shall be mine, but mine by human means.” “Then yours She will never be! You are banished her presence; Her Mother has opened her eyes to your designs, and She is now upon her guard against them. Nay more, She loves another. A Youth of distinguished merit possesses her heart, and unless you interfere, a few days will make her his Bride. This intelligence was brought me by my invisible Servants, . . . Nay, I was constantly with you in some degree, thanks to this precious gift!” With these words She drew from beneath her habit a mirror of polished steel, the borders of which were marked with various strange and unknown characters. “. . . On pronouncing certain words, the Person appears in it on whom the Observer’s thoughts are bent: . . .” “. . . Matilda, are you not amusing yourself with my credulity?” “Be your own eyes the Judge.” She put the Mirror into his hand. Curiosity induced him to take it, and Love, to wish that Antonia might appear. Matilda pronounced the magic words. . . . He beheld in miniature Antonia’s lovely form. . . . She was undressing to bathe herself. The long tresses of her hair were already bound up. The amorous Monk had full opportunity to observe the voluptuous contours and admirable symmetry of her person. She threw off her last garment, and advancing to the Bath prepared for her, She put her foot into the water. It struck cold, and She drew it back again. Though unconscious of being observed, an inbred sense of modesty induced her to veil her charms; and She stood hesitating upon the brink, in the attitude of the Venus de Medicis. At this moment a tame Linnet flew towards her, nestled its head between her breasts, and nibbled them in wanton play. The smiling Antonia strove in vain to shake off the Bird, and at length raised her hands to drive it from its delightful harbour. Ambrosio could bear no more: His desires were worked up to phrenzy. “I yield!” He cried, dashing the mirror upon the ground: “Matilda, I follow you! Do with me what you will!”

Well Izabel Goulart was a supermodel wannabe. She's one of the most hated models and so rude. There was a influencer who said that she said to her "hi , how are you?" - IG didn't answer back- "Hey , how are you? (Again) - I'm busy , can't you see? ... she was putting lipstick on. And models mocking her online bc they got tired of her. Them whe she cries off bc Lais Ribeiro got the fansy bra and no her. You know , I think she acts like bc she wasn't part of the group of Brazilians supermodels like Adriana Lima, Giselle, I. Fontani and Alessandra Ambrosio.

39 and 41 for the comic ask :)
39. What comic plotline gives you brain worms?
I don't get exactly the meaning of the brain worms idiom, but for I have searched it refers to an obsession about something in content media, so I will go on.
The series I'm currently following are mainly Batman related and Doctor Strange related.
It's not exactly obsesion but I'm kind of hook on the recent events of the Strange series. Previously on the event of The Death of Doctor Strange, someone killed Stephen, and among other things Clea, Wong and a Stephen from the past (who is like the Doctor Strange comics from the 60's) solve the murder and the present Stephen came back to live, but at the end it's gone, and the past version returns to his time.
Then Clea beguns to act as both Sorcerer Supreme of the Dark Dimension and the Earth, and it's cool to see Clea msnaging both responsabilities, but she also want to bring back Stephen, that more or less it could be possible because it was revealed that he's undead and vassal to Death, who keeps him as her "Sorcerer Supreme" and sends him to the Earth to chase the souls of dead are returning to Earth, an issue that also Clea has to deal with, and that leads her to confront Stephen a.k.a "The Harvestman", although she doesn't know it yet (at least at the last issue I read)
Tumblr media
41. What's a comic that keeps on giving (you enjoy rereading)?
It's hard to choose but I would say, probably, Batman: Night Cries (1991), although it's a bit rough story, but I like the artwork with watercolors, it's a good art for the setting of the story.
It's a horror comic that deals with child abuse, in which Batman and James Gordon chase a killer that abuses children after killing their parents and Batman is at some point accused of being the killer because the shape of the killer is simmilar to Batman's outfit and it's up to one little girl, Kathy, to come forth and clear his name. It's ironic because Bruce can relate to the suffering of those children who have also lost their parents.

Honorable mention: The Emdt comics, "Tiempo al tiempo" (2016) and "Mi tiempo se agota" (2018), the comics have bonus content about Salvador and Lola's pasts.
The first one it's set between the season 2 finale and the beginning of season 3. Salvador Martí, the chief of the ministry, is shot by someone from his past (there's flasbacks of Salvador's early years on the ministry) and Amelia Folch, Julián Martínez and Alonso de Entrerríos will manage to catch the ones who almost kill Salvador and save him from another assassination attempt. Some historical characters like Marcus Ulpius Traianus (Emperor Trajan's father), Ibn Gabirol, Ambrosio Spinola, Velázquez, Benito Pérez Galdós and Adolfo Suárez appears in the comic, and most of them except the last one are ministry members.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second one is set during season 3, but great part of the comic are flasbacks of the past of Lola Mendieta and some of her missions in wich historical characters like Emilio Herrera, Gregorio Marañón and Blas de Lezo appear.
Tumblr media
This it's the complete artwork of the cover and the back cover together, there's a courious thing because it seems that there are two versions.
Tumblr media
The one I got is the comic with the back cover version with the photo of Salvador and Lola when the first Lola the show introduced (the one played by Natalia Millán) joined the ministry. Well although with Lola there's a constant paradox because of the fact that Lola was recruited two times, this first one and then in season 3 when Salvador recruits young Lola (Macarena García) after the first Lola dies. Although I think probably because of his remorse towards the loss of two members of the ministry, firstly the death Julián in 3×01 Con el tiempo en los talones (but he's alive by the beginning of season 4) and then Lola in 3×02 Tiempo de espías. Later in season 3 Salvador gets the complete version of the book of doors that Lola had (like with more than 500 years of history of the ministry, no one thought of going back to the time before the fire in the synagogue to take photos of the book, like Lola probably did, or asking Abraham Levi to tell them about the missing info about the other doors?)
And the other one I dont if it's a thing of that artwork or there's another version or edition of the comic with that backcover. In this case it's a photo of a kiss. Maybe the ones who appear in the photo are Lola's parents, or it's young Lola with a former partner/lover, like Carlos, introduced in season 4, during her days as a member of the Republican Resistance.

So, as some of you may know, I’ve recently gotten back onto discord with a ghost group, and, well, I’ve been dumping headcanons on there left and right. So, for posperity, I feel this calls for a Discord headcanon dump:
CHARACTER HEADCANONS
To sum up, the difference between Papa II and Papa I in one sentence. Papa I is sour, while Papa II is bitter.
To elaborate a bit on this, Papa I is sour, not by nature, but because of the role he was given. Ever since he filled the role as Papa and undid a lot of changes, Nihil had done under his reign - he was branded as a monster, an asshole, the works. For a time, he tried to fight this, but eventually, he became what they described him as. Nowadays, he's a reclusive man, withdrawn and cold, with acidic wit and a sharper tongue.
Meanwhile, Papa II is, well, I don't know how to describe him briefly. He's hurt, really hurt, he was robbed of a lot of what he was supposed to have, a childhood, adolescence, a loving family, etc. and he's become embittered because of it. Furthermore, he doesn't really let go of his pain, he holds on to it and his grudges... He's just a hot mess is what I'm saying.
A lot of Papa II's ridiculous and 'embarrassing' behaviour during infesstissumam was being driven by spite - I mean, the Ghost project was Nihil's - what greater revenge would it be to make it a complete joke, especially when you consider the Clergy gave him the shortest period possible as an 'opening act' for III.
This backfired, of course, and it helped the Ghost project immensely, casting a shadow III would never be able to overcome regardless of his efforts.
Papa I struggles a lot with his identity because of the labels thrust upon him and his sense of duty to his family and the Church
Papa I is the one who takes himself way too seriously, and this is canon. He's also super competitive.
Papa, I is one of those people that relate heavily to birds, and it's valid! He has a little, not perfect, pop-up aviary on the balcony of his papal apartment where he takes the time to rehabilitate abandoned or mistreated birds, before letting them be adopted out again.
I don't think Papa I had any kids, why? Because having a bloodline of his own would be considered a 'threat' against (Nihil) his brother's own. So, he was never allowed to. He does resent this quite a bit; not that he ever really wanted a family; it's just that he never had a choice either way.
In general, Papa I grinned and bared a lot of unfair treatment for the sake of keeping the peace between him and Nihil.
I agree that Papa II was bitter and envious over the treatment III was given (III was a spoiled, golden child, he had a loving mom, was a favourite in the Church, even as a child, etc.). Still, I don't think it's over money and fame, or so to say, that stuff is inconsequential to him. On a fundamental level, II's secret resentment of III all comes down to being treated as lesser when compared to him. Secondo would never show this to his face, however, because he loves his brother, but that bitter envy is there and always will be.
Papa II is the type to write his s/o love letters but not the kind to send them. He keeps them in a box in his office,
Ghoul's can't be killed on the mortal plane, not really. Yes, their vessels (or bodies) may be destroyed, but the Ghoul or demon itself is stored in the mask. So long as the mask is intact, that Ghoul is alive and ready to be bound to another host vessel. When a ghoul is 'killed', they are either banished back into the mask or into hell, based on where the specific damage occured. (vessel vs. mask)
There are two ways of summoning a ghoul: the first is by summoning them in spirit and binding them to their respective mask, which is then bound via a death ritual to a vessel. The other is by summoning and manifesting the Ghoul in body and spirit via a series of tedious and taxing rituals.
CHURCH HEADCANONS
The Church practises Flanderization when it comes to their ghouls. You see, there are many classifications of ghouls with differing temperaments, appearances, etc. Such as Magma, Ash and Spark. However, for the sake of convenience- or perhaps further dehumanization - the ghouls are grouped and given broad labels like Fire, Earth, Water, Air and Aether.
There's a bunch of geese and other waterfowl that make their home in a decorative pond in the Church's unholy-see. Everyone jokes that they're the real evil in the Church. --The geese cause troubles on purpose. They will chase siblings down the walkways and stand at the door, waiting for their next victim to exit. Unless you're Papa I, in which case they become full babies, much to everyone's horror and reverence
The unholy-see has one central basilica, with adjoining monasteries segregated based on gender and species (the ghouls have their own pad for safety concerns) and other facilities related to being independent of the outside world, like farming and husbandry. Recreation and tourism (they thrive on folks wanting to come to see the quirky satan Vatican)
The monasteries are named after the three Prime-mover's who birthed the Emeritus, Infinitus and Ambrosios line of cambions, although, in the present day, only the Emeritus and Ambrosios have living members. (the Infinitus line were wiped out in the Catholicism-based attacks that drove them from Italy to Sweden in the first place)
While the main basilica bears the name of the archdemon father who sired them.
All buildings present in the unholy-see, from monastary to the farm land and the like, are all connected by the mass of labyrinthian catacombs which hold all of the Church's dead.
the public or first level of the catacombs are internationally recognized because of how well the bodies are preserved, and many see it as a macabre must-have for their bucket list
I think Sister's and sibling's, in general, have the opportunity to rename themselves after they take their vows Some make titles out of it and some choose names from the doctrine or church history, for instance, Meridiana (my oc) chose her name as a tongue in cheek reference to her job.
The thing with the church catacombs is that they're dry and cold, leading to sort of mummies being formed of the corpses interred there, but well-preserved mummies given much of the ancient church architecture is untouched and old traditions for burial are continued!
For instance, the Church doesn't do coffins, when a body is put into their catacombs, it is given it's cubby, or so to speak and is wrapped with several layers of textiles and plant-based fabric, such as cotton.
There numerous notable individuals in the catacombs. Such as the last members of the Infinitus line, the mother's and non-papal serving family of the Papa's and descendants of the demon lines. As well as entirely unrelated celebrity and royal individuals who were followers of the Church and wanted their remains interred in the unholy-see's catacombs
An iconic corpse from the catacombs is:
- Adalgisa Emeritus, Nihil's grand aunt who died as a young girl (~8) from complications related to an infection from a broken bone. Who, despite being laid to rest over 450 years ago, maintains many of her features from life. Including her nose, which has shrivelled up but is still there, her eyelids + lashes, brows and her hair. And provided an excellent window to understand how the deaths of papal-family members were treated at the time.
Although the treatment of her corpse and funerary items has led to much debate in the Church, given she was displayed not as a result of her immediate family's wishes, but from Nihil and One's, who believed her remarkable condition and life should be showcased to those who wanted to learn about the papal family history.
Adalgisa was a catalyst for significant changes in the way the catacombs and dead were laid to rest in the Church.
You see, previously, they were organized by status and ranking with the Church. With the demonic families having their own lavish wing, as did upper Clergy, etc. however, after her death, her father, Cernunnos IV, couldn't palette the idea of his daughter being put away in an empty wing, waiting for her family. He couldn't stand it, and so committed to having a children's wing created so his daughter and other children wouldn't be abandoned in the cold dank waiting for the families they were stolen from, and so they could reunite in the depths, play and be merry. Just like in life
It's actually said in church texts that the Fourth was haunted by nightmares of his daughter's cries echoing in the hallowed walls. But this is 'hear-say' according to the Fourth's second prime-mover.

Not A Good Look (Edward Cullen x black OC)
not requested
Naomi and Edward. Edward and Naomi. You couldn’t say one name without thinking of the other, it was impossible to separate the two of them. Naomi Mitchell and Edward Cullen were the most popular couple at Forks High School, and the best looking couple as well. They were goals, but they were extremely lowkey, never really flaunting their relationship except for a few kisses here and there.
Naomi thought they had a good thing going until Isabella Swan came to Forks. She didn’t think much of the chief’s daughter except for the fact that she looked skittish whenever a boy tried to talk to her, but Naomi was on the school’s welcoming committee, so she had the task of showing Isabella, or Bella as she liked to be called, around school and letting Bella sit with her friends. When Naomi left for Seattle with her mom to visit her sick dad, Edward had absolutely despised Bella, but when she came back, he was always talking to her, and everyone was talking about it. It was all her friends were talking about in the group chat. Girl, you really need to talk to Edward, because new girl beginning to be a problem. i’m surprised Jessica and them didn’t fill her in, her friend Larissa typed.
All this talk about Bella Swan was overshadowing her good news she received in Seattle. Naomi had been scouted by one of the biggest model agencies in the world, known for representing the biggest models in the fashion industry like her namesake Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Alessandra Ambrosio, Iman, and Heidi Klum. Naomi typed back, ain’t shit happening between her and Edward, he can’t stand her. now can you, meghan and brie stfu so I can tell yall what happened in seattle? Three dots popped up just as Naomi began to type. homegirl goin around sayin Edward saved her from tyler’s van.
Naomi heard all about the accident from Rosalie who was practically screeching over the phone to her with rage. okay yall i get it, now stfu so i can tell yall what happened in seattle. so me and my momma were in starbucks waiting for our order and this woman came up to us and asked if i ever thought about pursuing a career in modeling and I said, “uh kind of” then she gave me her card and said to call if I was ever serious about it. Right away the group chat was blowing up with reaction pictures and gifs. It happened over a week ago and her mom was still telling people what happened; Ms. Mitchell told anyone who listened: the checkout lady at the grocery store, the woman in Port Angeles who does their hair, even her own clients. In fact, she could hear her mom downstairs doing a client’s makeup and telling the whole story.
so are you gonna do it? Meghan asked. It seemed like a good idea, but Naomi didn’t think she could go through with it; she loved Edward and she didn’t want to leave him. A message popped up from Brie: bitch, from your lack of response i’m gonna assume that you’re too busy rn practicing your walk for nyfw cuz I know damn well you ain’t giving this shit up because of Edward, and if you are imma beat yo ass. Still Naomi didn’t reply because she knew her friend was right, and knew that Brie would keep her promise. If her mom knew that she wouldn’t take it because of a boy, she’d beat her ass too.
Every time Naomi would watch a rerun of Friends or The Hills, she’d always tell herself that she would not be like Lauren Conrad or Rachel Green who turned down Paris because of an ain’t shit man, and here she is, contemplating doing just that. i’m gonna get ready for bed. i’ll see yall on Monday. When Naomi got out her mom’s car on a gray Monday morning, everyone was staring at her, but not for the normal reason. She always rode with the Cullens, and as she made her way to one of the picnic tables, the whisperings started. “If I was Bella Swan I’d start running.” “Edward Cullen is a dead man.”
Naomi took out her math book and notebook and looked over her homework, anything to avoid the stares of her classmates. “Naomi looked pissed as hell. I would be too if my boyfriend started hanging around another girl the second I left town,” she heard a girl in her history class whisper to her friend. She tried to fight back tears and it took everything in her to not call her mom and tell her to turn around. Instead, she just texted Edward saying they need to talk. As soon as she pressed send, his car pulled into the parking lot and she shoved her books in her bag, relieved that she wouldn’t be waiting too long. Naomi felt like she got punched in the face when she saw Bella Swan getting out of the passenger side of her boyfriend’s car.
What the fuck? Now all eyes were on the three of them, Bella looking like a deer caught in the headlights as she saw Naomi coming to them, Naomi, who looked like she was about to beat Bella’s ass, and Edward who tried to put himself between the two girls; Naomi’s right hand began clenching as she marched over. “Edward can I talk to you? Now?” It began to get darker and a crack of thunder sounded, followed by rain. She didn’t care that her freshly braided her was getting wet and didn’t bother with the hood of her jacket.
“Why haven’t you answered my calls? Rosalie said you were out of town. What’s going on with you?” They were under a stairwell near the boiler room, where students hardly ever go. “I didn't think this was a conversation meant for a phone call or FaceTime.” Naomi’s heart dropped to her stomach, and she could feel the tears again. “W-what conversation? You’re not breaking up with me are you?”
“I’m sorry Naomi, but Bella and I.. we... like each other.” “Are you fucking kidding me?! You hated her the second she got here and now you like her?! I was gone for a week. And you don’t even check on me to ask how my dad is doing. You know, the one you met on two occasions and played chess with? They’re thinking about taking him off life support if you’re wondering!” Edward knew that Naomi wasn’t that close to her dad since he left her and her mother for another woman years ago and he immediately felt bad that he hadn’t thought of the girl at all. He tried fighting his attraction to Bella by being mean to her, leaving the state, but it hadn’t worked.
Edward couldn’t hide it anymore, and he knew he had to break Naomi’s heart. “Naomi, I’m so sorry, really. If there’s anything my family can do--” She held up to hand to stop him. “No you’re not, if you were you would’ve answered my calls. If you wanna be with Bella, fine. Do whatever you want, I don’t care anymore.” The bell rung and Naomi ran out the back exit of the school. She didn’t care that she would be missing school, didn’t care that her clothes and backpack with her homework were getting soaked in the downpour.
Naomi just wanted to get home and back into her warm bed and watch movies all day. She cried the whole ten minute walk home, even as she got into the hot shower and didn’t stop until she got back in the bed. She knew her mom would get a phone call about her attendance and didn't care about the trouble. Naomi just snuggled under the covers and fell asleep in her dark room, hoping it would be a bad dream.

NAME. Thalia Athanasios AGE & BIRTH DATE. 2000+ & Unknown GENDER & PRONOUNS. Female & She/Her SPECIES. Succubus OCCUPATION. Owner of Sol Gallery FACE CLAIM. Zazie Beetz
BIOGRAPHY
( tw: starvation, suicide, murder, robbery ) Once upon a time, there was a young woman from Germany named Frieda who traveled with a group of young artists. Among them were only people who did not want to survive by fighting or creating and changing goods – they wanted to bring light into people’s lives and entertain them. By creating musical compositions or acting out smaller plays, they entertained anyone who was important or rich enough to have an evening worth of looking at them. Frieda was the most loved out of the small group of travelers, because of her beauty and her enchanting singing voice. So maybe it was no surprise that she ended up having suitors left and right – though she never let anyone close enough.
Not until she met a beautiful young man in Egypt, who melted all of her defenses with one look out of his piercing blue eyes. The two strangers fell into bed together, and neither of them expected the consequences it held for their lives. Frieda ended up pregnant, and it was only then that she found out that the father of her child would be someone who was trying hard to be there for his family – but put everyone else’s needs before theirs. Petrichor Athanasios was the last person her daughter Thalia would have wanted as a father. In retrospective, he had never been much of one to begin with. The few memories of him she gathered growing up could have also been compared to those of a stranger who passed by every once in a while. Maybe she should have accepted it, maybe she should have just been happy with what she got, understand that Petrichor had more important tasks to tend to, people to save and protect. But the truth was, Thalia did not care about that. For a child growing up with only one parent, it was excruciating to miss him constantly without even really knowing who he was. It was torturous to be abandoned by him over and over again, to see him go when he barely just arrived what felt like seconds ago.
Seeing as her father wasn’t in the picture, Thalia’s entire life revolved around the group of people that had become her mother’s chosen family. The people who would play silly magic tricks on her to make her laugh on a bad day, who would sing her to sleep when her mother was out trying to earn money, who would do her hair to cheer her up on her birthdays. But no amount of love from any of them could replace the hole her father left in her chest. With every passing year, the anger in her chest grew more and more. At the end of the day, Thalia could not understand why she seemingly was so unimportant in the greater picture, why her father would not even care about her mother and her. And then, the worst thing she could have imagined happened. Shortly before she would come of age, just a few days before her birthday, her mother died.
It was quick, but not less painful to watch. The small group of artists was robbed by the small fireplace they had created in the woods on their way to their next destination. While Thalia was spared, her mother was stabbed, and bled out in her arms, as she cried for help and instead was left alone. Unfortunately for him, Petrichor had picked this peculiar timing to show back up in Thalia’s life. As a birthday gift of sorts, now that she was officially a grown up, he wanted to turn her into a phoenix. But she would have none of that. The moment she lay eyes on him, all the pent up anger, frustration, and also the added pain of losing her mother broke out of her like a storm, or a tidal wave. Thalia yelled at Petrichor, words upon words of what he had done wrong, and how maybe he could have saved her mother had he just been there to protect them. She despised him and the gift he wanted to offer her was not one that interested her in the slightest. Why would she spend a small eternity on this planet without her mother, and with the father who had been nothing but a stranger for her? To that, in the moment her mother took her last breath in her arms, Thalia had decided to never take anything from her father. So on that day, with tears in her eyes and anger in her voice, she told him that she never wanted to see him again. Then she turned her back on him, and it would be the last time she ever saw her father.
The people her mother had worked with took her along on their travels, but Thalia never had a thing for acting, and while she had a beautiful singing voice, just like her mother, she refused to sing – as it was a painful reminder of her dead mother. Eventually, they parted ways. They did not throw her out, but Thalia noticed that she was no longer as welcome as before, as she was just a burden and nothing more, and so she decided to slip away in the dark of the night, not even leaving behind a note. Thalia always was more of a painter. She ended up stealing paint and chalk, any sort of crayon, to be able to paint. It was the only thing she could do, and the only thing she was willing to do to survive. But despite the fact that she was truly blessed with skills, not many people had any use for something like a painting, and those that had the money and homes for it wouldn’t buy them from a young woman on the streets who looked like she slept under the stars.
Which Thalia did. She slept under the stars, eventually in a small tent she was able to afford. For years she moved from village to village, trying to sell or exchange her art, but it only got worse. Eventually, she was close to starving to death, close to just ceasing to exist. And that was when Helios decided to step into her life, after having listened to her prayers late at night. The God was a beautiful man who lit up the small place she slept in with her tent at the time, and who offered her what she always wanted: to be an artist admired by everyone. In exchange, her soul should be his, but he assured her it was not something she had to worry about. He was kind, which at the time seemed to be the opposite of her father, so when Helios sprinkled the information into the conversation that he was the brother of the Goddess who was responsible for her father’s absence, there was no more question that she’d accept. And Helios kept his promise. It seemed as if he had opened the eyes of everyone around her. Suddenly, people wanted to exchange the best goods for her paintings, and richer families sent people to bring her in to do paintings for them.
Thalia was no longer starving, she was well-fed, she looked healthy, and even managed to afford her own home. But that blessing did not last for long. Only three years after being blessed by Helios, Thalia’s fame as a well-known painter ended up being her demise. One evening, when she was painting in her backyard, someone broke into her home, and ended up killing her when she tried to interfere. It was a death similar to that of her mother, a sword to her stomach, then to her chest. She bled out in the grass staring at the stars, and wondering if she might see her mother again after taking her last breath.
She did not. Instead Thalia awoke in the same spot, alive, but changed. It took her a moment to remember the deal she made with Helios, and that this must be what he meant when he said that her soul should be his. At first, Thalia didn’t notice what had changed, even if she did feel different, but she simply put it off to the fact that she had survived her own death. It was not until she started being intimate with a young man who kept coming back for more paintings from her, who was absolutely enamored with her. Thalia, who had never been someone who really felt sexual attraction to many people, did it more out of believing that it would be expected of her, than out of really feeling a proper connection with him. And as he ended up taking his own life after their third night together, she realized that maybe it had been her fault. It took Thalia a bit longer than that, a few trials and errors, to find out that she was indeed the reason these people met their ends, or ended up depressed and rather soulless. Thalia only slowly came to terms with what it meant to be what she apparently was now: a succubus.
Thalia decided to leave her home town, and soon after that even Egypt, afraid of leaving too much of a noticeable trail behind. And that was how she ended up traveling through the world. She left behind a trail of paintings. The young succubus had an almost macabre fascination with dark and gloomy paintings, using a certain style that was recognizable like her handwriting. But whenever she had taken one too many souls, she ended up moving to the next place.
And during those travels, she ended up meeting someone who was exactly like her for the first time. Thalia had arrived in Europe, Greece more specifically, during 245 BC. She stumbled right into the fights between the Achaean and Aetolian leagues, but Thalia was not scared by the tumult she found herself in the middle of. For weird reasons, she had always been fascinated by death after all, and by trying to paint it and it’s gruesome brothers pain and madness. But she was also just a young woman, and tried to find the safest place for herself to be in. That was how she found herself hiding away along the lines of the Achaean league, who were allied with the Ptolemaic Kingdom. And in the ranks of said league, she met Lykaon Ambrosios. He was the one to approach her, having noticed their similarities, and at first, Thalia could not believe that she had met someone who was just like her. But Lykaon took her underneath his wing, and taught her plenty of things she did not yet know about being a succubus. He became a shoulder to lean on, someone she trusted and followed almost wherever he went. The two were seemingly glued together by the hip at times, as Thalia looked up to him in ways she had never looked up to her real father – simply because he was there, and seemed to care about her. Lykaon even taught her how to fight so she would be able to defend herself if it was necessary.
Once the Achaean war ended and the league was forced to dissolve, Lykaon was the one to make the decision that they had to get away before worse things happened, and he dragged Thalia along with him. She was grateful that he did not leave her behind or send her away, and so the two started traveling together. Thalia was always excited to see new places, but only rarely did she venture out to explore the world without Lykaon by her side. From time to time their paths would part, but never for long, and they would always reunite as quickly as possible. Only over a century later, they ended up properly parting for a longer amount of time.
It was in 1399, that Thalia then found herself in the Ottoman Empire. The Sultan had heard of her beautiful paintings, and requested she should do one of him. She discarded her home at the time to visit, and it was among his soldiers that Thalia met someone like herself again. When she met Kaan, she could not quite believe what she felt, how they immediately seemed to connect due to the fact that they had both been blessed, then cursed by a God. It had already seemed like a blessing to meet one other person like her, but this seemed too good to be true. While he was a fighter and adored bringing death to the people around him, she adored painting him, just as she adored painting death. Her collection soon held several paintings of this handsome man wielding a sword, or of two dark silhouettes in bed, one of them losing their soul to the wind. He became her best friend, if not her brother by choice, and she loved painting the scenes from the battlefield he told her about. Thalia was already known for her gruesome paintings around those who were interested in art wherever she went, but she was also excellent at doing portraits and it was how she got by most of the time. And when Kaan told her that his sister would like a portrait of her family, of course Thalia agreed to do this for him. If only she had known what this would mean for her. Thalia had never believed in love, much less in love at first sight. But the moment she lay eyes on her friend’s sister, she forgot how to breathe.
The woman was beautiful, and she had Thalia wrapped around her little finger with a simple smile. But there were two obstacles in their way: for one, Kaan’s sister was a married woman with a family. And if Thalia so much as dared to kiss her, she’d take pieces of her soul, and she couldn’t bear the thought of tainting her beautiful soul. Instead, their love blossomed quietly, secretly. With longing glances and brushing their hands against each other’s when they walked next to each other. Thalia had never before found someone who she would have given her life for over and over again, but this woman was it. They never spoke of their affection to each other, and at times, Thalia even wondered if she had imagined it. So one night, when they were alone, she gathered her bravery and spoke a monologue of what she felt for the other – simply so she would know, even if they could never be together. She did not expect an answer, and did not even properly give the other a chance for one; instead she went home feeling both lighter and heavier.
The next evening, she was delivered the news of her love’s death. Thalia never saw her again, was simply given the information through words, but that was already enough to shatter her heart. She screamed as if her own heart had been ripped from her chest. Kaan and her leaned on each other in a shared sense of agony and pain, trying to fix each other’s broken pieces after losing this person they cared so much about. They became more deathly, and more gruesome. Thalia tried to lose herself in the people she dragged to bed, but none of them did the trick. Their souls weren’t even worth it, as she kept feeling nothing when she was with them. Had it not been for Kaan, she might have willingly found a way to end her own life. Though she almost managed to do that anyway. Almost two hundred years after the woman she had loved left her life, Thalia found herself involved with a shapeshifter. It seemed fun at first, to coax the magic out of the other until there was nothing left. Soon after, the shifter who was empty of their magic was killed after leaving her home. What Thalia did not know was that the shifter had a brother who was hellbent on revenge. And that was how she ended up fleeing in the dead of the night once more, suddenly realizing that she did not want to be poisoned by his bite. She left Kaan behind, without a note once more, and fled the Ottoman Empire to go back to Europe next.
Thalia’s fascination with creating paintings full of darkness had only increased at that time, and it might have been the reason why the succubus felt herself drawn towards the biggest wars in European history. They both served as inspiration for her paintings, as well as providing the perfect scene to do what she had to do to survive – no one looked twice into a dying soldier, or a widow that was left behind and decided to take her own life. She painted plenty of scenes from the Thirty Years’ War, which might have been her favorite up until today. Next, she was attracted by the Great Northern War, which she spent hiding behind the lines of the Swedish Empire, pretending to be both a beautiful distraction for the leaders, and someone who would listen to their nightmares to put them into paint. Next she ended up in the Napoleonic Wars, and they were the first to make her feel like she was tired of war and death. Afterwards, Thalia decided to stay as far away from battle scenes as she could, and not even the World Wars were enough to lure her back in.
Thalia spent the last years in Zanzibar, where she painted mostly for herself. Every few years, she switched her location to not be remembered as a woman who did not age. And as it was time to leave Zanzibar now, she decided to follow the whispers of what was going on in Corinth Bay. The succubus had stayed away from war for so long, that the rumors she heard were enough to awaken an old longing. These whispers spoke of death and war, her favorite subjects to paint, and it felt like it was about time to reignite her muse. She arranged for someone to buy her a house and a place to build an art gallery in, and she only moved to Corinth once everything was set in place. The art gallery was named after the Roman name for the God who turned her into a succubus – maybe still a reminder to spite her father. Thalia is hoping for some good inspiration for her paintings, or simply for something exciting to happen in her life after all.

Your First Look at Victoria’s Secret’s Sapphire-Studded Fantasy Bra
When Lais Ribeiro puts on the Fantasy Bra she can’t help but get a little emotional. “You just feel so powerful wearing it—like all the hard work has paid off,” shared the Brazilian beauty on set at Pier 59 Studios. Clad in layers of Mouawad jewels, Ribeiro looks every inch the Victoria’s Secret Angel, but her journey from unknown to modeling superstar has been unique.
Working with the mega-brand since 2010, she’s gone from being a rookie to becoming a regular presence in the company’s sultry imagery. Strutting down the glittery pink runway, starring in those Michael Bay–helmed Super Bowl ads, and posing alongside the supermodels she once looked up to, she’s now earned the honor of wearing what may be the world’s most valuable piece of lingerie.
Getting picked for the Fantasy Bra, Victoria’s Secret’s annual custom merger of lingerie and jewelry that serves as a focal point within its televised shows, came as a surprise. She found out during fittings for the upcoming Shanghai show on November 20 and Ribeiro admits that the news overwhelmed her. “I had no idea that [the fitting] was for the bra,” she said. “I came in and when I tried it I cried, it was unbelievable.”
Though VS’s Angel brigade is filled with model moms, Ribeiro began her career after the birth of her son, Alexandre. Growing up in a small town, she didn’t dream of Angel wings or making it on the catwalk. Instead, she wanted a career in which she could help people. “I was going to school to be a nurse and then everything happened very fast.” On the advice of friends, she entered a local modeling contest and found herself whisked off to New York City before she had learned a word of English.
She credits fellow Angel Adriana Lima for taking her under her wing. “Adriana knows herself. She’s very strong, powerful, and sexy. It’s inspiring—she helped me a lot in the beginning of my career,” says Ribeiro, who upon experiencing her first Victoria’s Secret shoot knew she wanted to be a part of things for the long haul. “I remember Russell James was shooting me for that first catalog and Miranda Kerr was there. She had been in this business a long time and everything was completely new for me. I didn’t speak the language. She was just jumping up and down, throwing her hair and flipping. All I could think was, ‘How am I going to be like that?’ ”
Thankfully, Ribeiro is a quick study. Learning from the best in the business, she is now the standard that newcomers look to. Following in the footsteps of fellow Brazilians like Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Gisele Bündchen, her career has come full circle. “I believe everything happens at the right time,” says Riberio.
This year’s Fantasy Bra is done up in gold leaf and sapphires and comes with its own bejeweled belt. Although Ribeiro may need a bodyguard to make her way to the stage, she says she loves the design. “Personally, I love the colors on my skin tone and the big stones!” Though odds are she won’t be engaging in any heavy lifting à la her Vogue video, Ribeiro is expecting plenty of excitement in Shanghai. She’s looking forward not just to bringing the VS spectacle to a new city, but also having her family front and center to cheer her on. “I have my brother and my dad there so it’s going to be very special for me and I can’t wait to see their faces when I’m walking down the runway and just see their reaction!”

Quote
And as she said this she turned and disappeared into the thick of a nearby forest without waiting for an answer, leaving everyone astonished as much at her intelligence as at her beauty. And some of them, wounded by the powerful arrows of the rays flashing from her lovely eyes, made to follow her, heedless of the clear warning they'd heard. Don Quixote, seeing this, and thinking it a good moment to make use of his chivalry by succouring a maiden in distress, cried in a ringing voice and with his hand on the hilt of his sword: 'Let no man, of whatever estate or condition, dare to follow the beautiful Marcela, under pain of incurring my furious indignation. She has shown with clear and sufficient reasons that she bears little or no blame for Grisóstomo's death, and that she is far from reciprocating the desires of any of her suitors; for which reason it is right that, instead of being pursued and persecuted, she should be honoured and held in esteem by all good men, for she has shown that she is the only woman in the world who lives such a chaste life.' Whether because of Don Quixote's threats or because Ambrosio told them to finish what they were doing for their dead friend, none of the shepherds left the spot until, with the grave dug and Grisóstomo's papers burned, they placed his body in it, not without shedding many tears. They sealed the grave with a thick slab of rock, to be replaced in due course by a tombstone which Ambrosio said he was going to have made, with the following epitaph engraved on it: In here, earth's cold and paltry prize, The body of a lover lies, A shepherd who was cruelly slain By one who paid love with disdain. Ungrateful, haughty, cold and fair Was she who drove him to despair: More triumph for man's deadly foe As tyrant Love's dominions grow.
