I don't think I've been uploading any of my crafts onto this blog! How dare I! This is my first cross stitch project* and I'm quite happy with how it turned out! I learned that it's a LOT more work than anticipated, but devilishly fun to do.

I added the little extra bit of changing the stars to glow in the dark. Best decision ever! Pattern from 2x2StitchArt on Etsy

It's interesting to think about how, to me at least, Dust and Killer are like mirror versions of each other.

One who joins a villain enthusiastically, jumps at the chance to leave his past behind and have a purpose again, and the other who has to be dragged in, would rather rot in the consequences of his own actions.

One who needs orders, needs the distraction and the action and the thrill, can't sit alone with his thoughts for too long lest he hear them clearly, and the other who can't bring himself to ignore the ghost over his shoulder, would rather sit in place and listen to his own self loathing parroted back at him than stand up and find a way to drown it out.

One who doesn't associate with his past anymore, that wasn't me and I wasn't him, and cannot stand the thought of going back from where he came, and the other who wants nothing more than to be his old self again but feels so strongly that he doesn't deserve to return to the life he tore down himself.

They both wear their new names like dog collars, but one is a gift given by someone else because he's theirs, he has somewhere he belongs that he's expected to return to, and the other is a choker tying him to a post, warning others of his danger while never allowing him to get out of arm's reach of his past.

And getting them both back-to-back while trying to understand mortals was probably enough to give Nightmare whiplash

calling all fiber crafters!!

i've been having Thoughts™ about creativity and crafting and art and artisanship and skill, and i'm curious about what the rest of y'all think, so please have this poll:

The yes/no/sometimes/NUANCE is in direct answer to the "Do you feel creative" part of the question; the stuff after the semicolon is just a General Statement of How You Generally Craft. (full disclosure: i knit, so i think in terms of patterns, but if you partake in another fiber craft and there's a better word for "following someone else's design/instructions," insert that there instead!)

~feeling creative~ is defined however you want it to be. (this is why i'm asking the internet at large this in poll form--i'm trying to untangle some of my own thoughts about what makes me feel creative, and what that looks like across my life/hobbies.) if you'd like to elaborate in reblogs/tags/replies, please do!

assumptions i made with these options: if you design your own patterns, you probably also have done quite a bit of making other people's patterns. if you mostly follow someone else's patterns, you may have dabbled in trying your own, but not enough to feel like you're qualified to claim "pattern designer" (hi, it me). please answer with your heart regardless! you can explain as much or as little as you'd like, i'm just after General Trends and Vibes, here!

Overencumbered: The Final Chapter

Overencumbered: the last item is added, the mini nuke! At one point Willow had the Fat Man launcher and so many of these and that was how he spent his entire Fasnacht, just launching these things everywhere. 

With the mini nuke completed, that means all of the base stitching is also complete. What's left now is the backstitching. Here it is:

Backstitching always make everything really pop, and is wonderful for little details like the fan cage.
