what i wouldn't give for bg3 to let durge be a war cleric for one of the dead 3....... bonus points if it's bane. their brain is so goopified to the point that all they remember about themself is their own name, don't even know their profane FATHER. and yet, we see that they remember gortash's name? what if they also remember the freedom he promised, not in so many words but in FEELING, and recognize it in bane? does bhaal exsanguinate them on his altar for worshipping the enemy? does bane laugh the whole time at how easy it was to corrupt the flesh of his sworn rival? sure, but it'd all be worth it for how gortash would be falling over himself when amnesiac durge approaches him for the first time, clothed in the colors of his lord and devout to the last vestiges of his memory.

posted on twitter originally. but. streetfighterGhost.
he probs does it to escape his home life. but got noticed by a coach at local gym when he was just eighteen. would've went pro easily, but Tommy's debts with a loan shark piled up, leaving him no choice but to fight in an illegal ring. unfortunately, there's no escape when the boss thinks you're worth serious money. and the Ghost brings in a lot.
his only break comes from enlisting. a terrible decision because Tommy's debt soon come with a life sentence when he takes his anger out on the wrong man. to keep his brother out of jail, Simon agrees to fight again, getting roped into it full time. for keeps, this time.
another life of broken bones, bloody knuckles. staged fights. slowly chipping away at a debt that doesn't belong to him. mundane, really. but Simon would be a liar if he said he didn't get a sick thrill from fighting this dirty. no holds barred. anything goes. and he gives it his all.
goes and goes until he's sweaty, dazed. nose broken beyond repair. and leans over the rail to spit out blood, teeth. and happens to catch sight of the prettiest bird he's ever seen in the stands. his bird.
(well. you will be his once he's done with this fight, anyway.)

I will NEVER be okay about izuku and toshinori's relationship. Like, THEY SAVED EACH OTHER. THEY LIVE FOR EACH OTHER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
THEY CANNOT BEAR TO LOSE EACH OTHER
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A MAN WITH THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD ON HIS SHOULDERS. WEIGHED DOWN BY INJURY AND SELF-IMPOSED ISOLATION. WHO HAD RESOLVED TO WALK FORWARD, WHITTLING HIS BODY AWAY UNTIL HE REACHED A HORRIFIC AND LONELY DEATH. WHO FOUND A REASON TO AGAIN LIVE IN A QUIRKLESS, FRIENDLESS BOY
Tumblr media
A BOY WHO ONLY HAD HIS MOTHER. WHO DESPERATELY NEEDED JUST ONE SINGLE PERSON TO BELIEVE IN HIM. WHO FOUND THAT PERSON IN THE HERO HE ADMIRED THE MOST. A HERO WHO SWORE ON HIS LIFE THAT HE'D RAISE IZUKU. THAT HE'D D I E FOR HIM. AND THEN, EVEN HARDER: THAT HE'D L I V E FOR HIM.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
LIKE THAT'S TOSHINORI'S PRIDE AND JOY. THE REASON HE IS S T I L L HERE. BUT ALSO: VICE VERSA. WHEN IZUKU THINKS BACK ON OFA HE THINKS BACK TO THE UNCONDITIONAL BELIEF AND SUPPORT. THE "YOU CAN BE A HERO." THE ONE THING THAT LONELY 14 YO BOY NEEDED MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All Might IS the father figure in Izuku's life. He IS, definitively, the most important adult in Izuku's life RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOY'S MOTHER. HE IS TO IZUKU WHAT NANA WAS TO HIM. Life flashing before his eyes, faced with death, Izuku cries out to the two of them. His PARENTS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't sleep, I can't eat. I will think about these two forever. Beyond the end. All Might the hero who was shown how to be just a man by being a father. Izuku the fan, who discovered his worth through the support of his hero, who came to love & raise him as a father does a son

Its really interesting that Jimmy’s chair is the one tilted away from the screen in this shot:
Tumblr media
It’s indicative of how his and Jimmy’s dynamic was. He’s not staring ahead at the screen, he’s not paying attention to what they are doing. Curly is the only one looking forward. Jimmy quite literally couldn’t see the responsibility Curly had or was doing. Jimmy likely slacked off and avoided most of his duties. I mean the one time we know he pilots the Tulpar he steers it wrong and loses the team 4000 credits. Even in the positions they held objectively, Curly was always taking responsibility for Jimmy. Not to mention the “We can fix this” and only one chair at attention. Jimmy never had intentions to fix anything, throughout the game, throughout his entire relationship with Curly. Curly always fixed it? Why would it be any different here?
If he even took the slightest bit of responsibility, he would’ve stayed in the cockpit to see his plan through. In the end Curly did what Jimmy always expected him to do for him and took responsibility. Did what he always did and took responsibility at the wrong time…

looking at this panel again made me realize what megumi says here has more implications about him other than his sexuality or preferences. it's about how he views his wants vs. his needs.
Tumblr media
Todo asks him about his type. Usually when someone is asked that, they answer with their preference, what they *want*, or *prefer*, like for example Yuuji's answer of a "tall girls with big butts", despite having a history before of not prioritising that like when he liked yuko.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Megumi answers, not of what he prefers or what he finds attractive (whether physically or personality-wise), he just says what he *needs*. He doesn't have a preference as long as the person's character is unshakable. That's it. That's why Todo found his answer boring.
Tumblr media
it's not just because he described a character trait or personality rather than a physical attribute like Todo & Yuuji, but because it was the bare minimum. When you ask someone their type, if they reply "someone with a stable career" you'd find it a bit boring, no? it's not really answering your question of what they want in a partner, what they desire. just what they need. This approach of only looking at what is needed persists through everything Megumi does, not just his type, specifically his career a sorcerer.
He doesn't take more than what he's given, and he forces himself to provide what the situation needs. For example, his sacrifice bunt in the baseball game that Gojo called him out for. He didn't think about what he wanted, but what was needed for the match, and that was to let Nobara advance while he stays behind, so that they overall win the match.
Tumblr media
He limits himself like that. That's why Gojo's words of "It's okay to be selfish!" resonated. Because he never let himself take more. He never let himself step out of line.
This goes for his relationship with Gojo, too. he was a teacher, a mentor for him, but he never let himself step out of line to get any closer to him, as opposed to someone like Yuuji or Yuuta who interact with Gojo freely without any barriers between them. To him, he needs Gojo as a mentor and nothing else, and never let himself entertain the idea of wanting to be closer to him. throughout the conversations and interactions between Megumi and Gojo, there is a sense of distance that not even Gojo has with Yuuta and Yuuji, despite the barriers Gojo put up. Yuuji and Yuuta are both close to Gojo in the sense that they let themselves depend on Gojo and express themselves freely, able to talk about things other than jujutsu. but there isn't anything like that with Megumi. he always speaks to him formally despite 10 years of knowing each other and he's never spoke to him about anything other than jujutsu. to Megumi, Gojo is a teacher and mentor strictly and nothing else. not an adult he could depend on or someone he could confide in.
This goes for Toji, too. To him, he thinks doesn't need his father because he left him, that's why he doesn't care. even if he wanted to grow up with a stable caretaker in his life.
When Gojo first provided him with the two "choices" of training under him or being with the Zenin clan, he didn't think to ask if there was a third option where he just doesn't become a sorcerer. obviously this is because when you're like 6 years old and you're provided with two options, you don't think to entertain a third secret option, especially when you're talking to someone you don't even know, but this mindset of just taking what life gives you without question or defiance is largely why megumi didn't really thrive, especially in such a selfish environment like jujutsu sorcery where you need to overstep to succeed. only when he let go of those limitations (CH. 58) was he able to take selfishly.
His dream in 266 tells you this in full clarity. what he wanted was a simple and domestic life away from jujutsu sorcery. but he knew he didn't have the authority to really demand that from gojo, so he settled for what he needed, which was his sister's happiness.
this attitude of his likely resulted from the fact he grew up having everything taken away from him (his mother, his father, and even his stepmother) along with the fact that he grew up in poverty, so he didn't feel like he had any sort of authority to want things. he saw it as a luxury he wasn't allowed.
(interesting that the only time he has expressed a want, went against life and actually stepped out of line and made a decision out of a selfish need, is when he wanted to save yuuji.)

Just watched Attack of the Clones and noticed more parallels between Anakin Skywalker and Osha Aniseya.
(Long post ahead, with visuals!)
In AotC, Anakin's mother dies before she can tell him, "I love you," and Anakin descends down a path of destruction out of grief.
Osha force-chokes her father figure before he can say, "I love you," because she grieves his betrayal and the loss of her family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now these are very different forms of paternal love by Shmi and Sol, but I LOVE comparing and contrasting Anakin and Osha because these situations lead to different outcomes and reactions. Yet at the core, they have these strong emotions they hold inside. In the simplest form, they have both lost parents and both lost their mothers.
Both Osha and Anakin are born with the help of the Force, we know this. Anakin is born completely of the Force. Osha and Mae are born through their mother's magic augmented by the Force. Anakin didn't care for his home planet. He was born into slavery and trauma. But his mother loved him dearly. He left because he dreamt of better. To be a Jedi and return to free her too.
Osha came from a family that loved and protected her, but she longed for individuality and to explore the galaxy outside of their coven walls. Anakin finds his mother in her last moments, and the dark side takes over him. He seeks revenge and kills the Tusken camp out of rage.
Osha learns the man who raised her killed her mother. Her silent anger is simmering. She doesn't lash out the exact same way, she's in shock.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their reactions work for both of them. Anakin had his emotions building inside of him. In his feelings of inadequacy, he tells Padme that he is used to fixing everything, but this is the one time he failed. Anakin thinks he lost his mother due to his own weakness and believes more power will prevent it in the future. However, he is also ashamed of how his anger manifests and the act he committed in the camp. Padme tells him, "To be angry is to be human." (And as I am typing this RotS is on and Palpatine tells him the same, that seeking revenge on Dooku is natural despite his unease). But because of his training, Anakin says, "I'm a Jedi. I know, I'm better than this."
Tumblr media
Osha has power, but she doesn't realize it. Striking out at Qimir catches her off guard. Killing her master startles her to shock. She's not seeking power. Osha seeks an understanding of herself and to be understood. Just like Anakin, Osha believes she failed as a Jedi for showing her anger. For not being able to accept loss. Qimir pushes her to confront his realization, and similar to Padme, he tells her, "This anger, this pain. This is who you are."
Tumblr media
Anakin and Osha descend to darkness in similar ways. They feel and emote in similar ways. The Jedi are not successful in teaching them how to healthily deal with their feelings. So these experiences mirror, but they are still distinct examples of Jedi that are seduced to the dark side.
To me, Anakin Skywalker and Osha Aniseya are incredibly compelling characters that are only strengthened when analyzed together. End.
