One of the most powerful ways we can reclaim our personal power and our sense of inborn sovereignty is by taking an active roll in shaping how the world sees us. There is almost nothing more self-actualizing than being able to communicate what you want people to know about you, and tattoos do this effectively and instantly, wordlessly speaking volumes. Verbal communication can be garbled and nebulous, hard to interpret and easily misconstrued, but using visual cues as a way to assert yourself and indicate the tone of your energy is elegant in a way that little else is. Our bodies are so heavily commodified and politicized in this culture. What we perceive as physical flaws are weaponized and used against us by the beauty and fashion industries, and by popular entertainment. We are encouraged to seek and strive to obtain physical standards of being that are often not only unrealistic, but nearly impossible to achieve for most people. One of my favorite things about being a tattooer is having the ability to restore people into themselves. When we get a tattoo that we love, it helps us to see oursleves in a more positive and forgiving light, which is INVALUABLE in a culture that teaches us to hate ourselves in order to sell us products that fix and correct fictitious problems- most of these problems are invented- that is to say, NOT real, and these problems we are programmed to have with ourselves are often a matter of perception, rather than reality- wearing tattoos feels good because it is a direct subversion of that socially-perpetuated self-loathing. You are beautiful. You are strong. Tattoos serve as reminders that we are powerful and full of self-determination. I feel so incredibly blessed to do what I do for a living- healing people, reminding people of their inherent grace, power and autonomous nature is the most rewarding thing in the world to me ❤️

With everything that's been going on recently I completely forgot to post this scythe I tattooed on a family friend this last winter. Today I was able to snap a pic.
