Hey! Just wondering if you have any advice for advertising/getting commissions? I just opened mine for the first time and I’m kinda just winging it <3

make a pinned post on your blog that links to price/info/rules page! you can either host your commissions on kofi, or just do them via messaging and your preferred choice of online transaction.

price your art fairly but don't undercharge! know your art's worth and time it takes to make it.

have consistent communication with the person who commissioned you, give them updates, a heads up, etc.

keep a steady workflow. and also, breaks matter. you can do personal art and life stuff in between work art.

limit yourself on the amount of commissions you take at a time. you can do 2, 3, 10 at a time, but know when to stop so you don't overwork yourself.

don't be afraid to turn someone down if the topic does not interest or has a topic you don't wish to draw. there's plenty of artists out there who will do it for you.

make sure the person can fufill their payment before starting or handing over their commission. I do my payments upfront as a starting point for me.

always try to announce when your comms are open! make a post about it and say how many you're able to take in.

i suggest using kofi as it lets you keep track of your commissions, and can even 'mark as done' so you know which ones to work on.

Might I ask how Aether’s doing with the Dew situation 👀 have they spoken yet? And if possible, how’s Dew feeling about being given the silent treatment by Aether?

@crowsfinal-thought not the angst you were looking for……. but Dew is not handling the guilt of what’s transpired stemming from his transition well. A risky transition he didn’t want, a mate he took because he was so broken, someone he cared about is suffering because of this mating, said mate going through turmoil of his own, Ancients suffering alone in the catacombs with no one to protect them because they interfered with his transition, Air right at Death’s door because he can’t breathe in the catacombs……. Dew is Not Okay. Aether knows this, feels it through the quint connection he’d made with Dew, despite the fading it had with Dew’s transition and mating…. but he can’t bring himself to even look at Dew right now.
