I'm really excited for the Witch Hat anime as someone who's been following the Manga for a while now. But also I cannot help but fear it'll get the vashwood treatment and ruin the characters for me.

Like I feel instead of overselling orufrey as "guys they're basically canon yaoi" as a means to get people to check out the series we should be promoting the fucking awesome disability rep in witch hat?? And the really cool, insanely fleshed out magic system that let's people make fanmade spells or gadgets?? AND THE GIRLS???Like that's what really set wha apart from other manga for me, alongside the gorgeous art style

Contact Other Plane really is such a perfect wizard and warlock spell, because it truly encapsulates the hubris of those classes. It's the most extreme "fuck around and find out" spell. It's like, you can make a collect call out of this world. You might get some answers, but you also might go insane for trying it. You'll be fine in the morning, though. You will learn nothing from this experience.

Okay I know this is old news and no one cares anymore but another reason it's dumb to put Toshiro not explicitly telling Laios he didn't like him on his culture/upbringing/east vs west/poorly defined anthropology concepts

(in addition to all the other reasons e.g. Laios canonically has a 1 in people skills, Falin is of the same culture and does not struggle in the same way Laios does, Laios' inability to pick up "high context" social cues/read people is an issue that follows him throughout life not just with this one foreigner, everyone else in his party figures out how Toshiro feels despite not being easterners, Toshiro's recollection of how he indicated he wasn't interested are all common ways to softly reject people in "Western" culture ["I'm busy that day. I'm busy the next day. I'm busy every single day."], Toshiro's nanny [also an easterner] points out his inability to speak his true feelings as both odd and a character flaw he should work on, Toshiro has logical reasons to not make his feelings known, one of the big background themes of the story is that broad, sweeping assumptions about how Other Races think is a good way to misunderstand the individual you're dealing with and the lived experiences that shaped them)

I think I just need to explain myself for my inactivity lately, it's just that the situation with this whole thing is growing. And, well, it happens too often to ignore, so I'm in a bad mood for anything.

Perkeo's been veeeeeeery careful about not getting badly hurt in front of people while working in the pizzaplex, that includes the weird furry that is not sneaky at all and bluntly carries a knife around (note: that does not equals to them not being one reckless stupid mf)

That said, when they found out about the correlation between Vanny and Vanessa, boy were they mad and wanted to mess with her

They let her land a hit — not a vital one, that would be annoying, just a scratch to their cheek or somewhere visible (then dipping right after because no, they are not dealing with this rn without a least a whole bag of sundrops on their system. Running was usually their go-to with her)

The next day Vanessa looked like she was about to lose her goddamn mind when she saw the skin perfectly healed and couldn't even find any video proof that anything happened (There was a signal blocker or whatever the name being used)

One time Vanessa did manage to hurt them more badly and they gaslit the shit out of her the day after

Either way my girlie was NOT having a good time while dealing with that blue haired twink, if glitchtrap didn't drive her insane dealing with Perkeo would for sure

Especially because that little menace was ruining all her plans somehow when it came to Moon and she had NO CLUE how because she ordered that bot to kill them like 50 different times and yet the next day they would offer her a coffee and the one time she went to look they were just throwing a virus-controlled Moon over their shoulder into a pile of pillows like he weighted nothing and that was one of the most disturbing views she had all day

But that leads me to my question! How do you Aachria stay motivated for as long as you do? You have been pumping out chapters left and right and I'm pretty sure all of us want to know the big secret. How do you do it?

Grit and determination is a.... very kind way of putting it. I'm gonna level with you, I have no goddamn idea how the actual fucking hell I have managed this. I Do Not Know. This is absolutely the longest I've worked consistently on a project like. ever. Honestly I think the accountability of posting it is what kept me from losing interest in writing it near the start?

Would it surprise you to know I have never written actual like... story outside of school assignments and half-baked ideas when I was like 14? I was like. not a writer before I started writing this. (I have however always held the delusional idea I was a very very good writer, even when I was in grade 6 and absolutely was not. The audacity has always been with me.)

I partially blame the Attention Keeping Crack™ baked into One Piece itself, because it refuses to unsink its claws from my consciousness. Also the Vyvanse. It's also probably the Vyvanse.

So honestly; I have no fucking idea how I'm doing what I'm doing. BUT, using ye olde strategy of focusing your attention on planning and the details of parts of your story that interest you when what you're currently working on starts dragging is pretty great. Tired of the arc you're stuck in right now? No problem! You got a random fascination with bank heists and art theft? Sounds like something you could plan into an arc in the future! Just shifting your interest and attention around your story so you don't get hung up on parts you don't find as fun really pays off in the long run, both for holding your attention significantly longer AND for planning how your story will look in the long run with the bonus of it being much more fleshed out then if you just chugged through linearly while running on fumes. And your attention will always swoop back to what you were working on before with luck and patience willing.

Oh, and that grit and determination usually turns out to be spite and pure hedonistic urges to do whatever the hell makes you most happy at the moment. They look very similar though if you want to put that on your job or college applications ;)
