Rewatching Carmen Sandiego (2019) is realizing that a lot of the characters have their own musical motifs.

(I am coming fresh out of Epic: The Musical discource, this is so freakishly crazy to me)

The ones i've picked up so far are-

Carmen: A Latin-American guitar tune plays, usually when she is introduced during a caper or she makes an escape. (also, her intro in the first episode, right before Player speaks)

Shadowsan: A traditional japanese tune plays when he is singularly on screen or when making his escape.

Paper Star: Probably the most distinguishable, A creepy nursery tune whenever she is introduced, hinting at her involvement before even showing up on screen.

Devineaux: difficult to hear, but a low detective/heist tune plays when he is singularly on screen. (his whole, string scene in "The African Ice Caper")

Zach and Ivy: A little harder to pick up on, but if you listen to when it is just them on screen/speaking (in "The Boston Tea Party Caper") you can hear a jazz blues tune playing.

I've yet to find some more, but so far. these are the ones i've found.

I just noticed shes the only one who actually beat Shadowsan- TWICE. Like- I had to rewatch The Daisho Caper and The Beijing Bullion Caper MULTIPLE times to realize it.

I feel like they have a history that if someone wrote down we'd be here for 112 years reading it-

I really do believe people missed the point of how the ACME 'system' in respect to their long-standing process and logic was, never, ever, going to work. It hadn't worked for over 20 plus years, why was it suddenly going to work now? What? Just because two rookies who had come face to face with the first presumed 'VILE' agent in the last large sum of years, it's all meant to suddenly work out? Especially with the whole new variant of Carmen Sandiego?

So in saying that, Chase, and Julia, but more so Chase, were set up with horribly skewd odds, destined to fail thanks to an impossible system and formula, expected to somehow seek sucess to; "take down VILE/and or capture Carmen Sandiego". Then penalised for their 'unforseen' failure. Both Chase and Julia, eventually, find their respected and then shared 'sucess' when they go outside the typical means of the ACME process, aka, interacting with the world.

Im confused at what s1-3 ACME expected of Julia and especially of Chase (in s3 esp). Did they... just want them to stand there and... point at Carmen? Like "Oh shucks I guess there she is! Time to stand perfectly still and click my pen until the gang arrives!"

Yeah, no, how about a normal reaction of: GO.AFTER.THEM, regardless of if its to 'capture' or 'communicate'. A super valid response to seeing the one person your boss who communicates via hologram is desperately after.

Shocker. Like hey! Is anyone else helping? No? Just the two new people? Okay cool!!

And yet, somehow, Chase and more subtly Julia, managed to brute force this system and practices into working just enough through a metaphorically tiny tiny door and come out the other side with the most sucess with that 'ACME' endevor in the last 20 years. I think that itself is an astonishing feat and not talked about enough.

Yes, some property was destroyed in the process but results are results and I don't see anyone else but s1-3 Chase and Julia bringing anything to the table.

A bit late to this trend but my friend and I realised that we were both obsessed with characters that had "Shadow" in their names.

We call them "The Shadows"

Anyway yeah, low effort drawing but I would literally explode if I didn't draw it
