Cobra Starship's Buzznet Videos - Band-Family Dinner at the Blackinton House (early 2007)

Even though it doesn't have much of anything to do with their music, this is probably one of my favorite videos I managed to salvage from Cobra's old Buzznet account, just because it shows such a fascinating glimpse into the bond the band members all built so early on. While stopping over in Ryland and Alex's childhood hometown of Boca Raton, Florida, the band had dinner at Ryland's mom's house, cooked by both Alex and by Ryland's mom. (For those not in the know, Alex went to culinary school following his high school graduation and is a talented chef in addition to being a musician.)

Ryland's mother was a big supporter of the band, and apparently got along quite well with Gabe in particular; there are videos of her hanging out backstage with the band as late as 2010, and Ryland also shared accounts during stage banter of how Gabe's influence made his mom start swearing more often.

As a final note, Ryland's last quip in this video, asking his mother if she wants to learn keytar, suggests that this video was likely taken sometime in the grey period between Elisa Jordana's firing and Victoria Asher's formal hire date, so most likely in VERY early January of 2007.

i was looking through my screenshots and the amount of times ppl talk about shtola being SO mad/livid with them is v funny to me, like maybe she was like that with cori too but for one cori likes when she tells them what to do and for two cori tries very hard all the time to do what's asked of them. (and it seems not doing that is what usually sets her off with the other scions). so maybe she really doesn't get mad at them like that and this is why cori is also the only scion that calls her shtola. privileges by way of not pissing her off.
