I made the mistake with this one to change the lighting half way through the painting which always messes with the values and colors, but oh well. Sometimes a painting doesn't go the way you want to and then you got to let it go. But I still like the overall comp and all that, so you get to see it, haha. Maybe I manage to be a bit clearer in terms of values with that extra painting that I have planned for this scene, because this scene is just too good to only get one.

bol thought it was a good idea to send a heavy hardback book in thin brown paper with absolutely 0 protection. i already know they're going to fight me for a refund because the FAQ says the only way they compensate damaged items is to return and order a new one. As if you won't send it in the exact same packaging the second time?

Oh and they only let you upload one file for proof and it's damaged in at least 3 places so I had to make a goddamn collage for them. Ridiculous.

In terms of Protocol Head Canons no one cares about here is what Civil Service pay grade i headcanon everyone at (yes I am a civil servant, so this will be accurate and somewhat based on my own experiences)

Alice, Sam, Ceclia: AO/EO pay grade, still very much bottom of the rung, semi decent pay, but not anywhere near a managerial position

Gwen: HEO next step up from alice sam and cecila, team leader position desperately wants to be promoted into SEO but everytime she applies for either the EOI or the perment position her behaviour statements just get shittily graded

Lena: Grade 7/6 (grade 6 is above grade 7) in a higher managerial position likely in charge of them all at a departmental level

Colin: SEO expert in his field, only departmental tech person, is in a specialised field so essentially in control of himself (most of the time)

As of right now, the standing theory is that it happened in a bad lab accident before [REDACTED]. He actually used to have burns on his face too, but they used the magic equivalent of a skin graft to cover and heal them. It's not worth it to him to try something similar with his body because one: he doesn't mind how it looks, two: it wouldn't heal the damage to his sense of feeling, and three: it would be a difficult procedure over several months and appointments with an even more substantial recovery time.

As for the universe, at least for now, they're on a stable surface timeline, possibly a farmtale variant or something, placed there after "rescue" by Void & Co., possibly permanently, or until either they can return to their universes or it's decided there's somewhere better for them

I've been pondering on the three Papyri potentially sharing an apartment on the outskirts of a city, but I feel like Castor would much rather live on his own, so maybe just Calcine and Anthias...perhaps.
