I may have COMPLETELY misremembered this but I remember there being something about the background footage from 3.7 (GHOUL LORE) being made in gmod, is this right?
If not what software was that background footage made in?

just played cs:s for like an hour an my k/d ratio kept climbing the whole time.
i was hitting 45 degree headshot flicks over and over. quit with a 1.75, 52% shot accuracy. i'm literally a god.
gave me a rlly bad headache tho and it's half an hour past my bedtime lol. worth

today i took screencaps of the areas of rp_downtown_v2 that i've never noticed or paid attention to before

there's a truck up here

this room is in a fairly well-traveled building but it looks completely alien at this angle, focusing on the shelves instead of the actually functional parts of the room


two pictures of this eight foot long alley between two subway tunnels, the mapmaker obviously put a good amount of effort into this but it doesn't seem to serve any purpose. leaves me wondering why it's here

room just down the way from the alley, i'm intrigued by how many different wall textures there are in this one location. it feels like a byproduct of the space around it instead of an intentionally designed room

you see this tunnel the moment you spawn in, but i'm willing to bet nobody ever walks around in it. there are so many environmental elements telling players not to go in here, but nothing physically stopping them from doing so. the road sign at the top makes me wonder where it's supposed to go in-universe.

up on another roof, i'm not sure it's even possible to view the 3D skybox without looking outside the map like this. it's pretty sparse

one of the secret rooms underneath the apartment blocks on the far side of the map from the spawn. all of these rooms look similar

there are a number of these slanted hallways, and there's nothing terribly remarkable about them. i do question why the mapmaker chose them instead of stairwells

this ends our tour of rp_downtown_v2, and i'd like to give special mention to this room for looking like the CT spawn of the CS:S version of de_train. there's a shutter door that doesn't open, and even if it did, it'd be blocked by the immovable crates

also in this room is this angled piece that connects the two ceiling heights, not much to say about it but it does intrigue me
