Death and fandom, the true ageless ones.

Fandom is as old as humanity but we’ve called it different things over the millennia.

My favorite are fan letters written to Arthur Conan Doyle. And Tolkien. People wrote thier own endings for Don Quixote that Cervantes wrote another book to set the record straight lol. Then there are some classics like Milton’s Paradise Lost and Dante’s Inferno that could be argued as christian fanfiction.

IMO, our ideas of ownership due to white supremacy kinda created the concept fandom today. (I highly encourage everyone to look up and understand the concepts of ownership in communism, link below)

Before that, there were just different versions of media. Ideally artists would be protected and that is how ownership is presented to us - that ownership is the best way to protect your work, receive recognition and get paid.

I want us to imagine a world where fandom could truly thrive. If artists were guaranteed rights like shelter, a universal basic income and socialized health care and we could just create and be in communities with one another, can you imagine what we could create? And finally if the small group of white men that somehow own other people’s creations simply because they don’t want someone else to make money? Or to ruin their brand? Or needing to always appease “family values”?

(BTW this also exactly why the internet is going to shit. The internet and computer technology was created to be open source to all and programmers back in the day shared code so whoever could make it better could. And it worked. Then it started being privatized and it’s awful. Websites feel like the most bugged malware now.)

Fandom is older than capitalism and is a tool they are afraid of. A community of weird kids celebrating stories and creating for the sake of creating is something they genuinely fear. It goes against so much of their fascist values. Fandom will always survive simply because it’s creation for the joy of it.

Where do you get your corsets from and how did you start waist training? I want to try it and would love perspective from someone doing it. TY beautiful :)

My first authentic waist training corset was from @orchardcorset and I still wear their corsets to this day. They are an amazing online OTR seller with a superstar customer service team that can help you through selecting the perfect corset for your body. I can’t recommend them enough, especially for first time waist trainers. My fave styles from them for my body are the cs201, cs411, and cs426. Def recommend the mesh versions for summer. 

I also have a custom corset from NYC based corsetier @sinandsatin owned and operated by Jasmine who has impeccable taste and magic hands. Virtually nothing will ever fit better than something custom made to your measurements. And if comfort with major reduction is your goal, or your measurements just call for it, a bespoke corset is a must have. The quality is worth the investment.

I’ve always admired the cinched waists of my female icons, such as Bettie Page, Vampira, Catwoman. But I didn’t think corsets were something *I* could actually wear until I started going to kink parties and saw folks in em. I started wearing fashion corsets at first. Eventually came across a bunch of waist trainer babes on Instagram, and the rest was history.
