Nice Boating Places in Europe and Sightseeing

A graduate of Broward Community College, Curtis Hennigar is the owner of CAH Palm Beach, a company that provides valet parking services. With his coordination, the company managed to win the small business of the year award. Additionally, Curtis Hennigar likes boating in his free time. There are many renowned places where people want to go and practice boating, one of which is located in Southwest England. In Southwest England, people can encounter, while boating, many historical attractions, including castles and bays. On this trip, people can experience the whole England maritime atmosphere as they go past Portland Bill and Dartmouth and encounter ancient castles and the Britannia Royal Naval College. Additionally, they can go to the harbors and bays and try eating English specialties such as Cornish pasty, a tasty lunch and drink some local and fresh ale. Another interesting place for boating in Europe is nearby the Balearic Islands. People can boat nearby Mallorca, Menorca, and Ibiza and observe centuries-old buildings and works of art. Boating enthusiasts can also visit the port of Cuitadella, an old capital, and notice a cathedral built in the 13th century. To get a better taste of Spain and its islands, people can also try traditional food such as paella.

Day 2 | March 12th | Barcelona, Babe, You're a Total Beauty

Wow. Lucas and I had an incredible day. I woke up early and took his clothes to laundry room, then walked a couple blocks around the neighborhood. I found this cute little Cafe called Novell that seemed to have a popular business model in Barcelona; it was half cafe and half bar, serving both at 8 in the morning. These kinds of places were everywhere! They were mall, had front porches for smokers to sit in, cigarette vending machines, and sweet buttery baked goods like crossiants. I sat and people watched for a little but then i went back and returned Lucas' clothes to him so he could get out of bed.

It is unbelievable how much we saw today. The streets don't really have names so we kinda guessed where we were going and we did a pretty job. We went North towards the Recinte Modernista de Sante Pau, made our way to a Gaudi residence budiling, then we saw the La Sagrada Familia budiling. That building is absolutely over the top- every time I looked at it I saw a near design feature. It is an absolutely gem and deserves every bit of attention it gets. After, we headed towards Meridiana street and ran into a giant flea/artisan market. It was under a giant Ramada-like structure and must've had over 250-300 venues. I think we walked through at least 5 public parks, all beautiful and perfect for local action. Shortly after, we hung out near the Arc de Triomf and made out way through Parc de la Cuitadella. We walked a whoppin 13.5 miles, 29, 585 steps and I burned 1061 calories, all with 25-30 pounds of luggage of my back. Our feet started to hurt so we went to check in to our hostal for the night. We are staying in the Gothic Quarter, which is probably the most consistently interesting and beautiful part of Barcelona we have seen thus far.  The streets are narrow and the buildings are tightly close together, with beautiful terraces and a largely present gothic style. Our hostel door has a tiny door on the big door and has a very gothic vibe to it. When we got here lucas took off his shoes, laid in bed and hasn't woken up since (it was 3pm around then). I will leave him alone for now, I think he's very low I  sleep. I walked out for a little bit and saw the Santa Maria del Pi, which I now realize I have confused for the Barcelona Catedral. We will have to go in the morning then.

I am so impressed with Barcelona, especially since it just seems like such a livable city. There's lots for locals to be proud of for Barcelona citizens: there's lots of open public spaces, bike lanes and public transportation, beautiful architecture, cheap food, etc. And only on the plus side, all the people are beautiful. Who can complain?

Even though we are still here for three more days, I will have to come back when I am better off with money and go all the museums and see even more of what Barcelona's art, history, and culture has to offer.

Lastly, I will tell you a little about my favorite thing today: the Cascada Monumental. According to Wikipedia, it was erected by Josep Fontsére and to a small extent by Antoni Gaudí, who at that time was still an unknown student of architecture. You can totally see the Gaudi in it. I love this fountain for many reasons. It was messy and falling apart a little bit, had gorgeous statues, and it was habitable!  Well, mostly for the pigeons. But still,  it was a lively exhibit and my favorite one to sit in front of and people watch.

Μινόρκα: Το ήσυχο νησί της Ισπανίας με τις ομορφότερες παραλίες

Η Μενόρκα ή αλλιώς Μινόρκα είναι ένα μικρό νησί των Βαλεαρίδων νήσων, όχι τόσο γνωστό όσο η Μαγιόρκα και η Ίμπιζα. Όμως οι λάτρεις της φύσης και των όμορφων τοπίων έχουν κατατάξει την Μενόρκα σε έναν από τους πιο αγαπημένους τους προορισμούς τα τελευταία χρόνια. Κατά τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες οι τουρίστες που καταφθάνουν κάθε χρόνο στην Μινόρκα είναι άπειροι, αλλά από τα πρώτα χρόνια της αύξησης του τουρισμού πρώτο μέλημα ήταν να μην αλλοιωθεί η φυσική ομορφιά του νησιού και να μην κατασκευαστούν μεγάλοι δρόμοι κατά μήκος της ακτογραμμής. Για ποιους λόγους όμως θα πρέπει να πραγματοποιήσεις μια επίσκεψη στο νησί;

Οι παραλίες της Μινόρκας βρίσκονται ανάμεσα στις καλύτερες παραλίες της Μεσογείου. Μια όμορφη ακτογραμμή τυλίγεται γύρω από το νησί με μεγάλες αμμώδεις εκτάσεις και βραχώδεις όρμους. Ο νότος του νησιού είναι γεμάτος με παραλίες με λευκή άμμο και γαλαζοπράσινα νερά ενώ βορειότερα η ακτογραμμή είναι πιο τραχιά με κόκκινους όρμους. Η πιο τοπ παραλία είναι η απομακρυσμένη Cala del Pilar.

Από τους μεγάλους αμμόλοφους και τα πυκνά δάση έως τους υδροβιότοπους, ο ποικίλος βιότοπος της Μινόρκας φιλοξενεί πάνω από 220 είδη πουλιών και 1.000 ποικιλίες φυτών. Εάν είσαι φαν της παρατήρησης πουλιών τότε επισκέψου το S’Albufera des Grau, ένα εξαιρετικό σημείο παρακολούθησης πουλιών. Από εκεί θα έχεις την δυνατότητα να δεις από αετούς έως αιγυπτιακούς γύπες.

Στα ανατολικά του νησιού, η πρωτεύουσα της Μινόρκας βρίσκεται σε μια βραχώδη κορυφογραμμή με θέα στο λιμάνι-το μεγαλύτερο φυσικό λιμάνι της Μεσογείου. Εξερεύνησε την χώρα, περπάτησέ την και εντυπωσιάσου από τα παλιά αρχοντικά που κτιστήκαν την περίοδο που βρισκόταν υπό την κυριαρχία των Βρετανών. Κατέβα τα μεγάλα σκαλιά που οδηγούν στην προκυμαία και ανακάλυψε ωραία μπαρ, εστιατόρια και μπουτίκ. Από εδώ μπορείς να πάρεις το καραβάκι που πηγαίνει στο Isla del Rey, εκεί που βρισκόταν το παλιό βρετανικό στρατιωτικό νοσοκομείο.

Οι αρχαιολογικοί χώροι όλου του νησιού δίνουν ενδείξεις για τον Ταλαωτικό πολιτισμό που πιστεύεται ότι τελείωσε όταν πάτησαν οι Ρωμαίοι το πόδι τους στο νησί το 123 π.Χ. Ένα γνωστό αξιοθέατο το Torre d’en Galmés όπως και το Cornia Nou. Σε κοντινή απόσταση το μνημείο Talatí de Dalt διαθέτει μερικές από τις πιο καλοδιατηρημένες ταούλες, περίεργες πέτρινες δομές σε σχήμα Τ, ενώ το Naveta dels Tudons λίγο πιο έξω από την Cuitadella αξίζει επίσης μια επίσκεψη.

Σκέψου φρέσκα ψάρια και θαλασσινά. Το Caldereta de Ilagosta είναι κάτι σαν στιφάδο αστακού και είναι το χαρακτηριστικό πιάτο της Μινόρκα. Αξίζει να το δοκιμάσεις στο ψαροχώρι Fornells. Το τάπας είναι επίσης ένα δημοφιλές πιάτο στην Μινόρκα ενώ σαν ποτό παίζει πολύ το τζιν. Ζήτησε την νησιωτική πομάδα στα τοπικά μπαρ που ουσιαστικά είναι τζιν και cloudy λεμονάδα.

Κάθε χρόνο πολλά φεστιβάλ λαμβάνουν χώρα στην Μινόρκα, με κάποια να αφορούν στην τέχνη, κάποια άλλα στον πολιτισμό, μέχρι και στην τζαζ μουσική. Αυτό βέβαια που αξίζει πιο πολύ απ’ όλα είναι το Nuestra Señora de Gràcia το πρώτο Σαββατοκύριακο του Σεπτέμβρη κατά την διάρκεια του οποίου γίνεται παρέλαση αλόγων στους δρόμους του Mahón με ζωντανή μουσική.
