Authentic German Currywurst

The real German currywurst as you taste it in Berlin, Brandenburg, Sachsen or elsewhere in Germany. Currywurst is, next to bratwurst, one of the most commonly eaten sausages in Germany.

Ingedients:

8 Fresh roasting sausage

2 onions

1 tablespoon  tomato puree

2 tablespoons  olive oil

250 grams  ketchup

3 tablespoons  balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons  honey

½ tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon  chili powder

2 tablespoons curry powder

Preperation:

Step 1:

Grilling or baking the sausage. Peel and chop the onions very well.

Step 2:

Put the oil in a pan and roast the onion glassy. Add tomato puree and extinguish with a little water. Now add ketchup, honey and balsamic vinegar and let it boil for a while.

Step 3:

Now season the sauce with soy sauce, chili powder and the curry powder. If the sauce is too thick, dilute a little with water.

Step 4:

Cut the sausages into pieces, two per person. Let it bathe in the sauce and sprinkle some curry powder over it.

NOTE:

Serve it with fries.
