Skogen i Torekov (en halv sekund) är en deltagarbaserad “expanded cinema”-installation som utgår från att 16mm film, i stumfilmshastighet, har åtta stillbilder på en halv sekund. Verket visar fram blåstången under havsytan, en osynlig skog i Torekov. Denna nyckelbiotop hotas just nu av snabba förändringar i klimatet. Fotografierna är framställda genom cyanotypi, en analog teknik, som därefter lasergraverats på tvåfärgade akrylplattor för att skapa en relief. Genom publikens engagemang och frottage skapas en stumfilmssekvens på papper. Den analoga tekniken och valet att visa film som installation gör berättelsen om tångskogen långsammare. Genom publikens deltagande bidrar de till att sakta ner filmens hastighet. Eng:

The Forest in Torekov (half a second)

The Forest in Torekov ( half a second ) is a participant-based ”expanded cinema” installation based on the fact that 16mm film, at silent speed, has eight still images in half a second. The work shows the seaweed (bladderwrack) under the ocean surface, an invisible forest in Torekov. This key biotope is currently threatened by rapid climate changes. The photographs are produced by cyanotype, an analogue technique, which is laser engraved on two-colour acrylic plates to create a relief. Through the audience’s engagement and frottage, a silent film sequence is created on paper. The analogue technology and the choice to show film as an installation slows down the story of the seaweed forest. The audience´s contributions are slowing down the film’s speed even more.

BLUE BIRD !!! Unieke kunstwerkjes van artist Marloes Duyker. Gemaakt met gebruik van Cyanotypie. Cyanotypie is een fotografisch proces waarbij na ontwikkeling een cyaan-blauwe afdruk ontstaat. De Engelse wetenschapper, fotograaf en astronoom John Herschel ontdekte dit proces in 1842. Marloes Duyker maakt series van deze kunstwerkjes van fragiele vogeltjes gecombineerd met planten en bloemen structuren. Prachtige techniek gecombineerd met natuur. Combinatie van bewerkt papier gestikt op stof gevat in een houten hoepel.

Heute mach ich blau

Der Overheadprojektor läuft seit zwei Stunden und die vierte Cyanotypie wird belichtet. Blaumachen ist ganz schön anstrengend, wenn man dauernd in den Keller rennen muss, umpacken, auswaschen, ein bisschen Wasserstoffperoxid ins letzte Spülwasser für perfektes Preußischblau. Draußen scheint die Sonne und meine Zeit ist getaktet. Nase raus, entspannen, Nase wieder rein, weitermachen. Heute muss…
