(to Lan) You find these two fighting outside your house at 5 in the morning.
what's your first reaction?
feel free to just, let this sit until you can answer, or ignore it, your call
Tumblr media
"......... Sometimes I hate my job."
(( And then Mega proceeded to screech at his brother as much as he could for them to just hurry up and go stop them already, while Lan dragged himself to get changed groaning irritated like "Yeah yeah I know...!!" ))

Mega Man 11 playthrough diary - Acid Man
Tumblr media
84th in the official compendium, Acid Man's certainly a character.
Heh. Ass Cyd.
His stage is a bit of, well, what people might call "a stumbling block". Pipettos shoot the goo into the pools until they turn ouchie-green! Currents in the all-liquid sections make you reconsider your life choices! Mini-Shpiders are really jumpy everywhere and just barely too small to hit with a lemon! Spikes! You can't shoot Cyclone W in the brushies! Eddie doesn't give you a 1-UP! No 1-UPs at all! Game over!
Tumblr media
But I do dig the aesthetic, as it ties into his personality as a perfectionist chemist. That music, too, so semi-eerie! Until Marika reminds everybody at home that yes, she composed for Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar and Cybeast Gregar, so you have to sit through Surging Power! during the second half.
Tumblr media
I must say, despite the "BLEGH!" overdose, I do appreciate Chris Smith's voicework as this guy. Makes him sound like a conniving little science guy, like how Russ is in Pikmin 4.
As for the bossfight, it's okay. He hops around a lot like a binkying bunny, and the fact that he shields himself because he's afraid of you scuffing up his armor is a nice touch. They had to bungle up the boss AI though, and somehow they made the battle go like this - He gets out his shield and hops and shoots blobs of acid 3 at a time. His shield pops, thus requiring him to shoot 3 more blobs 4 times. Then he turns on his Speed Gear, swimming and jumping to shoot more 3-at-a-time blobs 4 times, regardless of how much health he has left. Aren't the bosses supposed to use whatever Double Gear they have halfway through?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, eventually, I did it. After 2 game overs, a fruitless Eddie Call, and some achey thumbs, I did it. Tune in tomorrow as I face Impact Man and his construction yard of doom.

Mega Man Battle Network 6 (Cybeast Gregar) is a very good sendoff to the series, keeping everything I liked about 4-5 and easily being the most streamlined entry in the series yet. My only gripe is that the move plot felt contrived, especially since it was undone at the end.
Overall, the MMBN series easily makes for some of the best RPGs I've ever played, with compelling lore and characters, and slice-of-life storytelling that's unusual for the genre. Not to mention they handled disposable turn-based attacks way better than the newer Paper Marios. 😆
Here's hoping that Star Force Legacy Collection can come soon, so I can continue the story. Maybe if that does well, we can see that series continue... 👀

Since Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection won the last poll, now I need to know
(Note: In regards to games with Multiple Options, I will be selecting the version played myself, based on which version I have the *least* amount of experience with. I repeat, LEAST, so that way it's still a somewhat new experience for me.)

For anyone new to Megaman battle network, and was curious about Which Version of the games to play, I figured I’d throw out some information. After the readmore contains some specific information about why certain play orders where expected, and a warning about the  Battle Network 4 game.
Battle network 1 and 2 do not have separate versions.
Battle Network 3: In the original Japanese release, they made a version of the game with general bug fixes and a little more content. Both western releases had the bug fixes, but White is based on the original release while Blue is based off of the version that had more content. Theres a few version exclusive things, but its nothing like a pokemon game’s version exclusive content.  So White Version is if you want to play the game roughly as it was originally released, and Blue Version is the one if you wanted to see all the content they made for that game.
After Battle Network 3, the games go into separate, slightly different canons. The Intended Play order is ether the following:
Battle network Red, Team Colonel, and Cybeast Gregar.
Battle Network Blue, Team Colonel, and Cybeast Falzar.
The reason for this is because Team Colonel introduces characters that are incredibly important in Battle network 6, but they were effectively version exclusives. Playing team Protoman meant you never where introduced to them, so the sixth game loses some of its emotional impact.
Also, a lot of  people will probably tell you to skip battle network 4. I feel this is important to know:
The fourth game is a awful mess of a game.
The game is set up in a bracket-styled tournament. Each bracket basically consists of backtracking though areas you’ve already explored, sometimes paired with a minigame, and then a boss fight. In order to unlock all the content and see all the separate scenarios, you need to complete the game 3 times.
Also, there are items that are in treasure chests, that change progressively each playthough. Failing to collect the treasure chest in one playthough, means you might not get a item for a few runs of the game. Something I can see really frustrating a completionist, and thus important to know about.
There was also nothing stopping you from getting repeat scenarios in the various new game+ you needed to do in order to see all of the content/unique scenarios.
It’s probably still worth playing though the game at least once. Both because there are parts of the game that some people enjoy, and so that you can complain about the game and make fun of its awful translation.
Its also still possible that they would fix all the typos in the legacy collection, but I really hope they don’t. I feel the infamously bad translation would be the main reason why anyone would try to play the fourth game.

Mega Man Battle Network 6 canon be like: Gregar and Falzar are two Cybeasts who caused destruction in the Net, and are mortal enemies towards one another
Meanwhile, in my copy of Violet, I have a female Midday Lycanroc named Gregar and a male Talonflame named Falzar...and they are best buds, contrary to their namesakes! Also, they are teammates and enjoy playing ball with each other and with their Path of Legends teammates.

Mini crack
Lan: hey Megaman?
Mega: yeah?
Lan: do you think that there other universes out there with other us in them?
Mega: what do you mean?
Lan: like, if there's a universes out there where we encountered a different cybeast, or faced off someone else in a tournament, or if there's a completely different world out there with us in there!?
Mega: maybe? I haven't actually thought about it
in my mind all versions of the games exist (except Gregar superiority, but the cross-forms from Falzar version exist there) like look it don't make a lick of sense BUT I'LL MAKE IT MAKE SENSE
Lan: And like, what if there's a universe where a totally different Megaman lives a totally different life!
Mega: What kind of life?
Lan: Like...I don't know, maybe you're a robot created by grandpa because he never got married but still wanted children of his own
Mega: That's very...highly specific Lan
Lan: Wouldn't that make a cool movie? No, a tv show! Or a videogame series!
Mega: I'm gonna have to ask you to stop talking about this now

So the guy that did the version differences for Battle Network’s 1-6 has now done his part 2, differences between 3-6 specifically (White and Blue/Black, Red Sun and Blue Moon, the one your currently doing Team ProtoMan and Team Colonel and lastly Cybeast Falzar and Cybeast Gregar). https://youtu.be/FQ47YmIQRU0
Man, any kind of MMBN project tends to be a long road, doesn't it?
