MOVIE TRIVIA
-       Daniel Day Lewis wore his costume on set throughout the entire filming period of Gangs of New York, and didn’t speak to anybody else aside from when he was enacting scenes, in order to stay in character.
-       A stunt man actually dies in the chariot racing scene of Ben Hur (1959) and you can see it in the film.
-       Whilst hiring for the role of Shaun in This is England (2006), Shane Meadows happened to meet Thomas Turgoose by chance. Meadows suggested that Turgoose (a thirteen year old non-actor) audition for the role. Turgoose agreed, on the condition that he would be paid £5 for his efforts.
-       The first woman to appear nude in cinema history was Annette Kellerman in the 1916 film Daughter of the Gods. Resources vary on who was the first man to appear fully-frontally nude. Though many suggest that this came in the 1963 film Cleopatra, and the actor was not a central character.
-       The first sex scene came in a Soviet Union movie called Bed and Sofa in 1927.
-       Bill Paxton is the only actor to have ever been killed off by a Terminator, Alien and Predator.
-       The production for Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy began in 1990, eleven years before The Fellowship of the Ring was released in cinemas.
-       Incidentally, The Return of the King (2003) boasts the highest on-screen death toll, with 836 bodies. Second on the body count list is Kingdom of Heaven (2005), with 610.
-       Gun violence has increased in movies with a PG-13 (or 12) rated certificate, since the rating was instated in 1985. From then, scenes of violent shootouts have tripled. And in 2012, leading PG-13 films actually overtook R-rated movies in rates of gun use.
-       It can work the other way, though. In 1978, the animated film Watership Down was given a U certificate. The BBFC, years later, admitted it had made a mistake and suggested it should at least be a PG, over perhaps higher.
-       When Alfred Hitchcock submitted Psycho to the censor board for the first time, it was rejected. Not because of the violence of the shower scene, but because they thought Janet Leigh’s nudity was too extreme, and asked him to make it less explicit. Hitchcock submitted it a second time, without making any changes to the scene. And it was accepted.
-       The corridor fight scene in Oldboy (2003) took three days to film. (Also, the scene where Oh Dae Su eats the octopus is real, and not CGI.)
-       Jack Nicholson’s first agent told him to quit acting because he had “no natural talent”.
-       In Richard III (1955), Laurence Olivier gets shot in the leg by a real arrow in the battle scene at the end; he just kept acting and said his lines anyway.
-       The scene where Captain Willard and Colonel Kurtz meet for the first time in Apocalypse Now (1979) is entirely unscripted and improvised.
-       Robert De Niro visited Martin Scorsese in the late 1970s whilst he was in hospital, recovering from a cocaine overdose. De Niro offered to help him with his addiction issues, and after his recovery suggested that they make a film together about the boxer Jake LaMotta, with himself playing the lead.
-       John Lasseter based Woody and Buzz on toys he had during his own boyhood for Toy Story (1995). Woody was based on a Caspar [the friendly ghost] toy, which had a pull string that made voices; Buzz was based on a GI Joe doll.
-       The film Akira (1988) only depicts around the first half of the original Manga graphic novel / comic book series. The graphic novel is over 1000 pages in length.
-       Elvis Presley’s first feature film was Love Me Tender in 1956. After its premier, the fans protested because Elvis’ character originally died at the end. So they changed the ending and let him survive. John Lennon saw it in the cinema when he was 15, and said it was the first time he thought about becoming a musician, “because all the girls were screaming at him – and I thought, ‘that’s a good job’.”
-       A top criminological psychologist claimed that Javier Bardem’s portrayal of Chigurh in No Country for Old Men (2007) was “the most realistic depiction of a psychopath” she had ever seen in a film.
-       After the scenes set in America were complete for the filming of The Deer Hunter (1978), Christopher Walken ate a strict diet of only rice and bananas for weeks, leading up to the scenes in Vietnam, in order to achieve a gaunt, spent appearance.
-       In a similar manner, Oliver Stone encouraged his actors to smoke as much marijuana as possible on the set of Platoon (1986) in order for increased anxiety and hallucinogenic effects.
-       For School of Rock (2003), Richard Linklater wanted to use the Led Zeppelin track ‘Immigrant Song’ as part of the soundtrack. But knew that Led Zeppelin are notoriously stringent on people using their material in movies. So he got Jack Black and the full concert hall of extras from the finale to do a special plea video, asking for permission, after which they all started chanting “Zeppelin, Zeppelin”. Linklater sent the tape to Plant, Page and Jones and they all said yes.
-       Before the “How am I funny?” scene in Goodfellas (1990), Scorsese, Pesci and Liotta were the only ones who knew how Tommy would react to Henry calling him funny. I.e., during filming, none of the other gangster actors present understand that Pesci is only acting: their silent unease is genuine.
-       ^ In the same movie, De Niro’s character Jimmy Conway is described as ‘Jimmy the Gent’. A real-life mafioso who knew the real Conway later said that this wasn’t an accurate portrayal of a man who was instead a “homicidal maniac who killed over 40 people in his lifetime.”
And, that’s all I can think of right now.

Codename Another Shot at Love Pt. 4
Winter After Graduation
December and January passed without much to report. That being said, everything that OT7 had planned went swimmingly, with one singular exception.
The dinner at the Lee estate had sent a wave of insecurity through Euna, which made it easy for Yoongi to feign ignorance when he began, deliberately, to pull away from her.
The first few weeks after dinner were filled with Yoongi convincing Euna that he was going to stay, that he was all in, that he wanted to be with her. She believed him, and by believing him, started the early drafts of their futures together. He hated the deception, the lies he strung together as easily as breathing, the files and documents charting his deception updated daily by Hoseok.
Hoseok had the unpleasant task of transcribing all conversation and interactions between marks and members of OT7, his specialized training and exceptional hearing made his job easy. Yoongi was instructed to record everything, except sex or any hooking up that went down. Being in charge of most of the tech, he wielded his glasses and watch, set to record when they were on his person, set to turn off when they couldn’t detect his body heat. He could manually turn them off, a button on his watch near the band allowed him to with ease. He’d only fucked up once or twice, not recording when Cupid spilled important info, which angered Namjoon to no end. They weren’t amateurs, Yoongi should know better. Regardless, everyday Hobi transcribed the conversations between Yoongi and Cupid, adding more to the list and charts of the lies being told.
“Jun-Seo said that Jimin wanted to send you something, a welcome to the gang, gift,” Euna said over dinner.
Surprised and pouting, Yoongi responded, “A gift?”
“Knowing Jun-Seo and Jimin, it’s probably a Dae-Seong voodoo doll,” Euna shrugged.
“Okay, did they want to drop it off or give it to you?” Yoongi shrugged it off.
“Jimin wants to have dinner, the four of us,” Euna told him, sipping her wine.
Nodding again, Yoongi asked, “How do you feel about that?”
“I would rather not,” Euna said.
           “Then we won’t.”
“Isn’t it part of being a family?” She asked, unsure what the protocol of a functioning family was.
“Having dinner? Didn’t we just witness Guadalcanal? You think the troops wanted to hang with the natives after they slaughtered them?” Yoongi scoffed. He hated how docile Cupid was towards her family, always doing what she thought was right, rarely what she wanted.
“Eh, it wasn’t that bad,” Euna responded.
“You’re shitting me,” Yoongi’s eyes were wide. “War is not normal, I mean, besides Iraq and Afghanistan, that’s normal.”
“No, I’m not. We’ve had far worse, that one was honestly, average. At least my mom made it through the entire meal, and no one broke a glass or threw a plate at Dae. They weren’t on their best behavior, but it was better than most meals we share,” Euna informed him.
“That’s toxic, psychotic, that’s fucking horrifying, Euna. You don’t have to put up with that.” Yoongi took her hand in his while she watched her roll her eyes.
“Didn’t you know that, though?” She snapped.
           “Know what?”
“The Lee family, and Lee Enterprises, breeds nothing but toxicity and wages psychological warfare on every member of the inner circle. That’s why no one leaves,” Euna’s temper continued to flare throughout the night, sleeping as far from Yoongi as possible, barely acknowledging him as he slipped from her home the next morning.
Arriving at work the next day, Yoongi and the OT7 team spent an additional week tracing the longevity of careers at Enterprises, as well as tracking hirings, firings and workers who just disappeared from records.
“Who’s been there the longest?” Namjoon asked, files scattered across the conference table, writing strewn on the glass between offices. He was growing tired, a sign from the cold he’d acquired running a surveillance mission with their recent acquisition, a trainee ready to be put into the field.
“Not including the Lee family, that would include a somewhat distant Vanderbilt relative, a Henry Claypoole,” Yoongi said.
           “Not a Korean?” Seokjin asked.
“No, the Lee’s didn’t rise into prominence until, well, it looks like the late 80s, when they did a market sample and it became apparent that an Asian-American owned company would serve better in the future than another fortune 500 owned by a white family, that and Vietnam had ended and American sentiment towards Asians of all kind was changing,” Namjoon responded.
“Once the Civil Rights Act passed, and the government continued to allow Asians immigrate, opinions were changing.” Yoongi added.
“It wasn’t that long after Vietnam though,” Seokjin was skeptical.
“It didn’t go over well, they hadn’t gone public until the early 2000s, so it balanced out. It was pretty hush-hush until the mid 90s when Claypoole died.” Namjoon pulled up the paperwork, passing it to Jin.
“Still, Vietnam, AIDs, their investors were okay with this?”
“At the heart of the Lee business model, is a relentless grab for power. They were making ins with the wealthiest families in Asia, Europe, UAE, Middle East and South America. There wasn’t a royal family or billionaire who hadn’t put their money in,” Namjoon told the men.
Curious, Seokjin asked, “Before it was Lee Enterprises, what was it called?”
“Claypoole & Lee Enterprises,” Hoseok responded. He’d forged a few older documents with their old insignia and water mark.
“CLE?” Jin had looked at their old stocks, comparing them to other companies when he was in college. They were a fickle company, always hard to pin down or predict.
           “Yes,” Hoseok answered again.
“They changed their name?” Jin confirmed.
“It was a complete rebranding to help with their demographics, but it also made sense once Claypoole was six feet under.” Namjoon replied.
“The less American, the better?” Jin clarified.
“Exactly, better for the global image,” Namjoon adjusted his glasses before running a hand through his hair. Dark and quaffed, it fell back into place in gently swoops.
“Claypoole worked in the bank from day one,” Yoongi addressed the three men.
“Claypoole was just a figurehead, the original chairman of the board while Lee and his crew ran the company,” Namjoon said.
“How do their hiring practices measure up?” Hoseok asked, he spent zero time reading and understanding the internal workings of the company unless he has to write in a specific person’s voice.
“They accept applicants in pools, hiring in spring/summer, train in fall, then reevaluate the following spring. Their classes or cohorts are no more than ten people, with a few exceptions based on the market demands and company growth. Some years, specifically at the beginning of the tech boom, they hired fifty people, other years, six. It is fairly unpredictable,” Namjoon passed around another set of documents.
“The most tenured staff has been there for thirty years,” Yoongi said sipping his coffee.
“Yoongi, you haven’t had to sign an NDA?” Hoseok asked.
           “No.”
          “What about retention?”
“No one talks about retention. It wasn’t in my contract at all, no blind clauses or double language.”
“Has anyone left in the year you’ve been there?”
“Not that I’ve seen. No one talks about contracts or negotiation outside of the speculation of what will happen come May.”
“Their plans for negotiating contracts also vary by years spent, first years going through a level of hell that slowly descends as you work your way up the ladder,” Yoongi informed.
“Why would they want people to stay?” Hoseok asked.
“They’re all complicit? They knowingly are committing felonies, so staying means no one can hold it against them?” Yoongi suggested.
“An entire company of 200 people, all insider trading? All embezzling? That’s inconceivable,” Namjoon was unsure how realistic the possibility was.
“An entire company, minus one,” Jin whispered.
“Yoongi, how is our Cupid doing?” Hoseok smirked.
“She wants to move in,” Yoongi muttered.
           “What?” Seokjin yelled.
“Yeah, oh, and her clothes have begun to infiltrate my closet,” Yoongi sipped his iced americano, his own making, a product of the espresso machine he had begged Namjoon to buy. The coffee ice cubes, a stupid idea from a pop-up video, had turned Yoongi’s favorite addiction into a godly experience.
“She wants to move in, with you?” Hoseok was shocked.
           “Fuck off,” Snapped Yoongi.
           “What else?” Namjoon asked.
“She’s been calling a lot, at random times in the day. She’s got snacks in her apartment for me, like really niche stuff. She bought a thousand-dollar bottle of whiskey for me, bought me a pair of silk pajamas that cost near $550. The worst of it all, and I swear, I swear, she’s developing an impregnation kink.”
Namjoon and Hoseok laughed, doubling over to hold their sides as they became consumed by the idea.
           “Seriously?” Hoseok gasped.
“Whatever happened at that dinner has her scared shitless,” Seokjin remained calm, though the shock etched into his ageless features. “She’s never wanted kids.”
“Which is why it’s concerning,” Yoongi said.
“You stopped using condoms?” Namjoon dropped the laughter to stare at Yoongi. “Don’t tell me you stopped using-
Yoongi’s eyes widen, cheeks tinting pink as he blushes. “No, no, that’s how I know she’s developing this, obsession. She very vocally, wants my fucking seed.”
“Does she ask you not to use one?” Hoseok inquired.
“Yeah and tells me I can take it off and I don’t need to because she’s on birth control, which she isn’t.”
           “Pull out?” Hoseok suggested.
“Oh yeah, the second least successful method to avoid pregnancy,” Namjoon laughed again.
“You can tell her you don’t want STI’s,” Jin offered.
“She’ll ask if I’m sleeping with other people,” Yoongi had gone through every option, there was no good solution. He pissed off Cupid, or he put himself at risk. Unwanted pregnancy was not how he was going to start off his mid-twenties. Fatherhood was not on the table, especially not with someone he at his core, didn’t love.
           “Are you?” Jin wondered.
Rolling his eyes, “When would I have the time?”
“You’ve always been a one partner kind of guy,” Hoseok responded.
Confusion in his eyes, Yoongi tilted his head. “What does that even mean?”
           “Just that-
“Yoongi, start distancing yourself, as gradually as possible,” Namjoon redirected.
           “Roger that.”
It was a cliché, become a horrible partner to get the other person to break up with you so you didn’t have to. It’s even more of a cliché for the person hoping to be dumped to revert back to their pre-relationship behavior in order to get their partner to dislike them, as much as he didn’t want to admit it, that was exactly what Yoongi did. Frankly, he didn’t have to try very hard, though, to get Euna to be hurt by him.
Introverted in nature, he began by closing himself off to her, cancelling plans, bailing at the last second. He became withholding of sex and general intimacy, being standoffish when she tried to get him to open up, annoyed when she tried to use her wiles against him. He tapped into all the flaws past partners had accused him of and let them run wild.
It was slow at first, building up Cupid’s resentment towards him, for every step away from her he took, she took three more towards him. Her internet searches became solely based on ways to keep Yoongi, entrapment through a hole in the condom, or preying on him after a night of drinking. She lost all sense of what was acceptable, what was normal, and spun out completely. Cupid tried to track his phone, bought burners to call and catfish him, put extra security in place in his corner of Lee Enterprises to ensure she had eyes on him all day. Paranoia and obsession have no place in a healthy, stable relationship, but Yoongi couldn’t fault her for feeling both towards him.
The final straw, on Yoongi’s end, was a confrontation the night following Cupid’s weekly family dinner.
“Why didn’t you come to dinner? Who were you with?” Cupid demanded when she called Yoongi.
“I told you, I have a deadline and Matthew needs the plans before the market opens on Monday,” Yoongi reminded her.
“You’re not at work,” She snapped.
Calmly, Yoongi exhaled, “I’m at my apartment.”
“Why are you lying to me,” It wasn’t a question, but an accusation.
“I’m not lying, Euna, I am at home working,” Yoongi answered.
“Why don’t you ever come to dinner?”
“You said I didn’t have to, after the first one,” Yoongi reminded her.
Cupid scoffed, as if that was a true reason. “Jimin’s there, and recently, Dae’s wife has been making an appearance.”
“I would prefer to not engage with your family unless I have to. It blurs the lines of work and personal –
“But you’re dating me! You’re fucking me, you’re in love with me.” She rattled off, “Why does my family have to be the problem? What’s really going on?”
“What do you mean?” Yoongi was already tired of the conversation.
“You’ve been acting weird for months. You don’t want to sleep with me, you hardly stay over, you’re distant and weird,” Accusation after accusation, Yoongi had made a list himself of what she could potentially throw at him.
“I have been going through a lot, can’t you understand that?”
Scoffing again, Cupid responded. “You’ve been going through a lot? What about me?”
“Euna, I know I’ve been shit, I just-
“You don’t love me anymore, do you?” Bingo.
          “What?” Yoongi feigned hurt.
“You’re not denying it,” She snapped.
          “Do you really think that?”
“Yes, Yoongi, I do. I think you used me to get into good graces with the company so you can move up the ladder. Now that you’ve got some traction, you fucking don’t care about me or our relationship.”
“That’s crazy! When have I ever shown any sign of wanting to move up the corporate ladder? It wasn’t my idea to fall into bed with you, Euna, your mother set this up,” The angrier he pretended to be, the faster this would be over.
“Why are you acting like this if you’re still in love with me?” She demanded to know.
“I told you, works been chaotic and I –
“If work’s chaotic, why not tell me? I can change that.”
He held in a laugh, “That would be like nepotism but worse.”
“Are you saying this to make me feel better?” She asked, voice softening.
“Euna,” If only she could see him, eyes closed, glasses on his desk, fingers pinching the bridge of his nose. He was tired. Tired of Euna, tired of working at this company, tired of lying. He didn’t often burn out on missions, but this had taken him to his edge.
“You don’t want to have sex, you don’t want me in your space, you cancel plans, you never answer my calls. Yoongi, are you cheating on me?”
          “What?”
“You are, aren’t you?” She could feel the tears breaking through, the resolve of anger she had disappearing.
Yoongi took a deep breath, knowing she was going to throw up whatever she could until it stuck.
          “Euna, stop,” Yoongi sighed.
“Then tell me what’s going on,” She whispered.
He had to say it, he had to otherwise this fight would continue on, resulting in an in person confrontation. “We should break up.”
The silence on the other end was worse than her screaming at him.
“What?” Her voice was still soft, a heartbroken whisper.
“We want really different things, and I don’t know if I can or will ever be able to give you what you need. I’m sorry, Euna, I am,” Yoongi said. He wasn’t a heartbreaker, he loved fiercely and passionately. But Cupid was a mark, plain and simple.
          “Fuck you, Yoongi,” She spit.
“I’m sorry, Euna,” He laid on the apology.
“You had my heart,” She sniffled.
          “I know,” He sighed.
“And you stomped on it, ran it over with an 18-wheeler, and threw it into a blender. Fuck. You.” Cupid was back to anger, coursing through her like lava down the side of Kilauea.
          “I’m sorry,” He repeated.
“I want my stuff back, and I want you to put in your transfer at Lee Enterprises,” Her voice was fueled by anger and sudden heartache.
          “A what?” Yoongi was shocked.
“Transfer, you can’t work under me after this,” She had switched to business mode. There was one thing Yoongi had remained impressed by, and that was Cupid’s ability to put the job over everything else, everyone else, not because she had to, because she wanted to.
          “That’s unlawful,” Yoongi warned.
          “I don’t care.”
          “Euna,” He pleased.
“Transfer, or I will fire you.” An ultimatum, something she never wanted to be faced with.
          “You can’t –
          “Don’t. Test. Me.”
“Okay, I’ll do it Monday,” Yoongi compromised.
“You can send my stuff back, I don’t want to see you.” Cupid hung up. In her home, she threw her phone against the wall, watching it rebound onto the carpet before she fell to the floor, tears abounding. How many heartbreaks could she withstand? How many tears would fall at the emotions of another man, breaking her spirit? In some deep recesses of her subconscious, Dae-Seong’s words played through without a scratch. Maybe he’d been right.
Yoongi texted OT7, who no doubt had already known through the rapid transcription Hobi was almost certainly completing, or through listening to the fight go down. The receipts would show that Yoongi had followed orders as directed, he completed his mission, his mark had been hit. Hook, line and heartbreak. Looking at the calendar, he laughed darkly. Of course, he would break up with her days before Valentine’s Day.

[TRANSLATION] DAZED KOREA Magazine November 2017 issue x GOT7

Before I came to meet GOT7, I listened to the new album <7for 7> a few times. How about just getting rid of all the boring and conventional questions and talk about music? Seems like you guys would have a lot to say.
BB: That's good. Since we debuted we wanted to sing songs made by us individually. So everyone constantly made songs along the way but it's true that it is insufficient. But this time aside from us being satisfied, our company was satisfied as well. Personally it was an album that l'm highly satisfied with. It feels like (my) dreams came true, I'm proud and it's lovely.
JB: Although the songs that I made have made it into the album before, it's the first time we are using my song as the title song and promoting with it. It's very meaningful. Including myself, all of the members paid a lot of attention to it
JS: I think it's an album that plainly includes the worries we have as people in our 20s. We wanted to express our thankful hearts with the title song You Are' "it's so nice because you are here'.
Seems like the one album completed by the 7 songs that the GOT7 7 members' participated in has various meanings. Words like "independence'', ”self-reliance”, ”freedom'' and ”responsibility'' come to mind.
BB: I think at our age we always have thoughts about independence and self-reliance. (We) think of the time in the future when we can't do this job anymore. (I) work hard not only on music, but also on making videos and on areas related to languages. Opportunities come to those who are prepared isn't it (laughs).
JB: While preparing for this album, the pressure and responsibility was huge. It was to the extent that it's hard to express with words. When the song I made was decided as the title song the feeling reached its maximum and because of the pressure, I paid more attention and worked harder to prepare for it.
YJ: Though it is an album that reflected a lot of our opinions and thoughts, the big picture and tuning that completed it were done together with the company. Rather than feeling burdened, because we were able to do something we wanted to, it was a happy experience. I've got a lot of affection for this album.
JY: I’m not sure that if I say I didn't feel burdened, if it would sound like I have no sense of responsibility. But rather than feeling burdened, I felt more anticipation and excitement. It felt great because having a GOT7 member made song as a title song meant that we got recognition from the company and the public.
Is it an album that had no regrets and reflected everything you guys wanted to do?
JB: As a member of GOT7, what I wanted to do and what I could do, I did everything. Of course as a whole individual I was lacking and I felt regretful. But that's something that can't be helped.
If I listen to a song made by JB now, I think I'll know. There's a unique refreshing feel to it.
JB: That is true for songs made by "GOT7 JB'. But I personally prefer something darker than that and sticky. Of course both sides are in me.
Tumblr media
Remember You' that BamBam participated in is just like BamBam. It has a strong sophisticated feel to it.
BB: My image is originally bright and lively but this song is slow and serious. The fans also thought that it was a twist. The song is about an anxious love.
Do you still like Saint Laurent recently?
BB: Hedi Slimane left (laughs). But I still like it. As presents, I received a lot of clothes from Saint Laurent on my birthday and Christmas. In my closet, I have the most Saint Laurent clothing. I like those slim styles. But l'm not sure if I have gotten lazy recently (laughs). I started liking clothes that are just comfortable. Things like baggy pants and slippers.
After learning about the melody and lyrics from the song "Firework'' that Jinyoung-ie participated in, I thought that you maybe are a dreamer.
JY: The lyries compare fireworks blowing up and the path that we are walking on. It's a song with a positive meaning that If we silently work hard, someday we'll shine'. I think of myself as a dreamer but I don't know how those around me think.
I saw you taking out a book in the fitting room just now, what book are you reading recently?
JY: I read a book called <Doll of eternal youth> I'm done reading it and I'm looking for a new book to read. ("Note this is a direct translation, the book does not have an English name.)
Your habit of reading books must influence you in some way when you are writing your lyrics.
JY: I don't think ľ'm influenced by any direct material or expressions. Though there are probably instances whereby the books that I read get reflected in the music as I'm working on it.
The song To Me that Yugyeom participated in is heard precisely like a song of someone who dances. A variety of beats and rhythm stacking up and splitting
YG: I wanted to try something new as much as possible. I used beats and a melody that aren't really used by mainstream music in Korea. It's so foreign so I thought it wouldn't be included in the album but the reaction was unexpectedly good.
Jackson, Mark and BamBam wrote Korean lyrics. They might be proficient at the Korean language, but speaking it and writing it are different things.
JS: That's right, It's not easy. For me, I don't really read books (laughs). I find and look at a lot of the lyrics from other singers.
M: There's something I would like to express but because l'm still poor at Korean so I can't express everything like my heart daes. Though it's a pity, I'm satisfied. I think that it's right to not be greedy and just express what I can right now. I can just work harder on the next album.
BB: Speech and writing is definitely different. If you write lyrics just like you are speaking, at some point it could become childish so i'm careful about that part. I listened to opinions of others nonstop while I worked (on the songs).
Tumblr media
What about the other members? A person who writes has principles that they stick with like OCD.
JB: I try not to use repeated expressions. While working on many songs, there are times where the content of the lyrics or expressions become similar. I don't like using this expression in this song and then in another song again. All this time I liked simple and relaxed expressions but now I'm ambitious about metaphorical or poetic expressions
YJ: It's really hard to write lyrics. With the same lyrics, depending on the person or depending on the melody, it can be heard totally differently. Controlling that strength is always homework to me but first I'd have a go at it. Whether it's cringeworthy or not, I note down everything I think of and look at it.
Personally I like Youngjae's straight and clean vocals. "Moon U' goes really well with that voice.
YJ: Fan meeting "We under the moonlight, I've done it before with that as a subject. It's a song that I want to sing to the fans. I thought that all the members are like that too, but I [ended up) making my song such that I can sing it on my own from the start to the end. And because of that, naturally I made a song that matches my standard and my voice.
What do you think of your own voice?
YJ: I have never thought that my voice is pretty. So stifling (laughs). Not satisfied. Because I'm not happy with it, here are many tümes that I get annoyed.
Today I got a shock after seeing Jackson. I expected to see the image that that appeared on variety programs but you are very much serious and manly.
JS: It's interesting to appear on variety programs and I like it. But l'm not glad that only the bright and lively appearance revealed in variety remains with the public. Of course that is also the real me but I also do have lots of serious sides. Music or acting, now I wish to show that side of me.
How was an interview like today? Is it not fun because it's too serious?
GOT7: No, we liked it. Because it's not like a magazine interview so it's impressive.
JB: Of course an interview that just talks comfortably is great too but when talking about music, doing it seriously is good. For me, even though I know that l'm an idol, there were many times that I deny it on my own. It's some sort of rebellion. I think I disliked the fixed image about idols. Now I want to have both the image of a musician and an idol.
Tumblr media
Not now but after some time passes, how would the 7 of you from GOT7 remember this album «7 for 7>?
BB: While preparing for this album, it felt like we were debuting again. To that extent it was an album that was meaningful and even as time passes I think it's an album that I will treasure preciously. Originally, the first attempt will be remembered for a long time.
JB: It'll be great if after time passes, the fans listen to this album and still think that the songs are good. Personally if I listen to it after a few years, I will see the inadequate parts. Aside from the question of whether (l'm} satisfied or not, I think that I would feel that it's a pity and like I should have done more.
M: GOT7 past songs are cool on the stage but they were not songs that could be listened to comfortably normally. But this album can be listened to in everyday life with earphones. It's good for listening while on a drive too. Personally l'm never tired of it and will probably listen to it occasionally. It's an album that I'm satisfied with.
YJ: That's right. It's the first time l'm listening to our song so many times. I'm not tired of it. I hope that it's like that for others too. A sang that's easy to listen to and (you) won't be tired of.
YG: I think I will remember it as an album with various meanings. Because for the first time with our participation, an album was made. All 7 songs aren't uncomfortable to listen to and even I keep going to them.
BB: It has not been long since we've made our comeback so we're very busy. It's hectic and tiring. So it still doesn't feel real yet, (my) condition was very good when we were working on the songs that were included in this album. Met many friends too and there were many enjoyable things. I think I'll remember those emotions back then.
JS: I think of it as GOT7 7 members' "first album. I think many memories will remain. As we grow older, I think l'l feel proud ift listen to You Are again.
JY: Second start. Another growth for GOT7.
Out of the 7 songs in <7 for 7>, there was a song 1 heard repeatedly last night. Apart from (your) shares (in the songs). don't trouble over it and quickly voice out the song that you personally treasure.
YG: ”Teenager”
YJ: "You Are”
M: Not one but two songs. "You Are”. ”Firework”
JS: “Firework”. But if you listen to it repeatedly, no matter what song is it, wouldn't you get annoyed? (laughs)
JY: "Remember you”.
JB: "Moon U” and "To Me.” What's the song you listened to repeatedly? (laughs)

I said last night that I was going to do Peach for this and here she is! I imagine that Iris would have her clones in a slightly different uniforms so that it’s easier to tell which Subjects were once people and which were her’s from the start. So the clone uniform would have a slightly different design compared to the originals’ ones as well as a light blue colour scheme, not to mention they’d have their genetic coding on their back in black. I said last night that Ava would have a mint green dragonfly on her chest in the white patch of the uniform and the same goes for the clones, having a mint green dragonfly on the midsection on their fronts.
As for the Active uniform, the clones would probably keep the same sort of lining pattern compared to the originals getting a downwards V shape, though the dark colours still stay because, y’know, practical. Peach’s uniform tends to be a little more different from Ava’s as she’s a very physical field agent so she would be put into something that didn’t restrict her movements any more than she had to (Dae and other clones would still wear Ava’s longer trouser form). She keeps the jacket and gloves for association purposes and I mostly left the blindfold off just so I could show her night eyes idqwudniwo She looks MUCH more spookier and more monster-like than this but what’cha gonna do with a doll dress up site?
Anyway uh, so Ava and Mordecai would both wear her outfit while Dae and Adonai would wear Peach’s outfit line.
and lastly, Iris is a bitch y’all

TEN COMMENTS ABOUT: HELLBOY 2019
The curiosity factor got to me so I went to see the new Hellboy on Cinemark’s $5 Tuesday. It’s it as bad as the reviews suggest?
1. “Hellboy ‘19” is bad but I’d call it a big mess with lots of poor design, story and effects choices.
2. David Harbour does the best with the material he’s given so his career won’t be torpedoed because of his performance and one good thing about Hellboy’s makeup, it doesn’t totally obscure his facial expressions like the rubber mask Ron Perlman wore.
3. But the color is wrong (a weird dark pink); the horn stubs look fake a sh#t; his overall face looks scrunched; and that gawd-awful long hair is figuratively and literally a mess (and I won’t comment on his rubber chest piece).
4. Kudos to Ed Skrein who was originally cast as Daimio for stepping down when her learned the character is Japanese-American in the comics (Scarlett Johansson I hope you’re reading this!)
5. But I wasn’t impressed with Daniel Dae Kim who took over the role of Daimio - for some stupid reason the writer decided to make him British and Kim’s accent rang false - in fact I thought it might have been dubbed by a different actor.
6. I loved Milla Jovovich as Leeloo so I always cut her some slack, but she came across as lackluster, not really the main villain.
7. And every new character gets an origin flash-back right after they are introduced - ugh!
8. Guillermo del Toro’s design aesthetic was otherworldly; but the creature design here is more in line with any typical horror movie - going for gross and rubbery rather than original.
9. The movie Rated R so there are lots and lots of limbs dismembered, bodies torn in half, brains chopped open, blood spilled... it goes on and on... the comics might have had violent stories but they weren’t gorefests; and there are only so many times you want to see Hellboy tosses and beaten like a rag doll.
10. Some of the effects were terrible - in particular one critical to the finale; a character barfs up ghosts who appear at the end of long blobby CGI intestines (you sort of have to see it to unbelieve it); anyway I haven’t seen effects that bad since the blob-vampire at the end of the first “Blade” movie.
Bonus: This is the second movie I’ve seen this year where a descendent of King Arthur has to pull Excalibur from the stone and save the world from demon hordes.

***Please do not repost or copy my work to any other site without my written permission.  Giving credit does NOT count.  Reblogging is ok.***
“Why are you acting so weird?”
“What?  I’m acting weird?”  Gabriel inwardly cringes.  Thousands of years of knowledge and the best he can come up with is I know you are but what am I.   He almost drops his head in his hands, but he’s too busy drowning in the visceral wave of panic crashing over him because you noticed.
He knows why he’s acting like this.  The problem is, he can’t help it.  The moment he realized he was in love with you, it was like watching a train wreck: paralyzing, unstoppable, and yet he just can’t bring himself to walk away until he’s seen it all go up in flames.
“Don’t do that.  It’s insulting,” you tell him and the way your voice goes softer suggests you are insulted he’s tried to evade your question with the lamest comeback in existence.
“Sweetheart, I didn’t - I’m not —“ he fumbles for something to say, freezing, because he knows there’s more than enough room for his other foot and his original one again.
What he doesn’t know is whether or not it was a mistake to even come here.
“… I should just go.”
It always comes to this, to running.  He’s so tired of it, but he can’t help himself.  It’s what he knows.
“Wait —“” you lunge forward, grabbing his hand before he can disappear.   “You don’t have to tell me what’s wrong.  Just… don’t go.”
He stares down at the unexpected contact, his fingers tingling where yours lightly grip.
“Please?”  He can tell by the look on your face you expect him to leave and, for whatever reason, it dims the brightness in your eyes in a way that makes his chest grow tight.  Leaving will hurt you, and that’s the last thing he wants to do.
“Ok.”
He doesn’t know what he’s doing.  He doesn’t know what he wants, but he knows he’ll do whatever he can to make you happy.

I LOVE IT WHEN YOU DO ASK GAMES YOU ARE ALWAYS SO FUN *_* 40 and 50 - who are your favorite writers on tumblr and pick a favorite story of them !!!
awwww hello cutie anon
40. share some backstory for one of your charactersdajkfjhasjahfk uh...wow ok well. i need to figure out how to do this without giving away spoilers yikes bikes ok well alright i can do DYS!jongin
DYS jongin and the duchess met around the end of university. youll remember from jongdaes story this was a thing that happened:
It’s hard to remember that it was not always this easy, that Jongin and a friend whose name you can no longer remember were the ones who forced you both into company, simply because they dragged you on their dates. It’s hard to remember that they would flirt around you, while you both scowled [...]
When Jongin and his girlfriend broke up, [...]
jongin originally had a girlfriend named joy (the empress doesnt remember but i do...oh how i do lmao) who was friends with the empress. jongin and jongdae were roommates in college, and in an effort to hook their friends up, brought jongdae and the empress on double dates which turned into misery lmao about two years after that, he meets the duchess - jongdae and the empress have been friends about seven years, known each other for eight. jongin and the duchess have known each other for five. she is brought to the friendship group by chanyeol’s countess - listen the web of things connecting all these people is out of control lmao WHEN I HAVE MORE TIME AND AM NOT TIRED FROM A WORK DAY ILL WRITE THIS ALL OUT FOR PEOPLE LOL
50. who are your favorite writers on tumblr and pick a favorite story by themi dont usually do fic recs because i dont read enough nor do i have time and it makes me sad but its been ages since ive done a thing like this so i will do it
@kpopfanfictrash - important to stress that i was shanna maries hype woman before i became her friend my pic: One Shot (listen....listen. im up no strings’ ass just like the rest of the world, but one shot was The Fic ok. its like...The Fic For Me. whenever she mentions it, i arrive on her blog like ‘hello i was paged.’ whenever someone reads it, i feel tingles in my hair. its The Fic.) i will be screaming about this fic until the heat death of the universe
@kollectionn - imagine having all the worlds in your brain like sunshine does and also being so brilliant at showing them to the actual world? what is that like? who knows but she does and im in awemy pic: Struck - look Charred is special to me because it was the first of her other world series, and it was chanyeol, AND i have never felt so...like a character in my life as i do the saviour. im a literature mess, obsessed with language and antiquity and worlds, i fret over the dumbest shit, but also like - would totally save a planet if the way to save the planet was by reading????fliwejfoweijfo ITS ME. BUT this is not about charred this is about struck, the story that came after, the story that is arguably better than charred because stylistically this is where sunshine found herself and holy shit can you see it. everything about struck is literally perfect, and you can visibly tell sunshine was Living It in her soul which made reading it just a remarkable experience.
@rapmonluv - amy: a talented hoe, a loving hoe. i love amy so much shes so good and puremy pic: Passionfruit. ok so i just binge read this like 3 days ago and holy wow what a namjoon. the world needs more namjoons like this - with the wild minds but also the really like wonderfully open personality and the confidence of unabashedly being themselves regardless of how insecure they can feel. SUCH. HUMAN. CHARACTERS.
@the-porcelain-doll-xo - the greatest, loudest, kindest soul on this earthmy pic: Chronicles and Classifieds. it’s been one chapter and im still not over it. just read it. i have yet to forgive her for writing soo so unbelievably well i want to yodel into the night sky
@from-dae-do-dae - i have precisely no words to describe how much i love my soul anon who is no longer anon and the fact that shes writing again makes my heart want to jump into the fucking sun my pic: When We Were Young - she just started posting this and i just started reading it and when i finally finish writing all the things i have in the next few days she should expect a yelling message from me :) AND YOU SHOULD YELL AT HER TOO OMG
i have a lot of other faves but this is all i can do for now because i am sleepy lmao

The Upcoming Winter 2018 Shows I’ll Be Watching
HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody! What better time than now to talk about the new season’s shows in the annual pre-seasonal post where I describe the shows I’ll be watching/giving a chance from the coming Winter 2018 season! Always a fun time, and fun to look back at and see how wrong/right I was about a show.
A reminder of the usual thing I say in these posts:
I might watch some other shows that are good or drop some shows if they aren’t good, but that’s for the future.
Like always, I’m organizing these shows into three categories: Full Chance are shows I’m giving the whole season towards, Short Leash are shows I’m giving three or so episodes towards, and One Shot are shows I’m giving one episode towards. As we progress towards categories, expect less words for each anime as I lose interest in writing. Also a reminder that MAL links to the shows are on the titles for those interested.
Some words about next season: I know everybody is hyping up Spring 2018 to be THE season for anime (just look at that lineup), but I think the Winter 2018 season has some potential gems. With each passing season I’m getting more and more picky with the shows I keep, let alone give a chance. Even with that, there are 20 anime below, and that doesn’t even include a few I’m sort of interested in but decided to not watch because I already have a lot on my plate. Plus the fact that I’m pretty dang excited for a few of these shows, which might end up backfiring on me in the end because Sturgeon’s Law. Oh well, that’s life.
All right, let’s get this show on the road, starting with...
Full Chance Shows
Dagashi Kashi 2: I legit can’t believe this got a second season. The first season of this show was way back 2 years ago during the first season I started watching seasonal shows, and even then I knew this show wasn’t really that special. Basically the problem with the show was that it was a candy infomercial at its core: the characters and their stories/development were overshadowed by “lol look it’s candy”. The only great thing the show had going for it was the character design, which got nullified for this season since a whole different studio is handling it (Tezuka Productions instead of feel).
But there’s good reason to hope that this installment of the show will be better than the first season. The biggest reason for that is that this time around, Dagashi Kashi is a short anime. Not one of those 3-minute blazers, but a 15-minute half-length short. After hearing that, I had some hope for this show: the first season at times felt like it dragged on with its skits. Hopefully cutting the length will help immensely with that. Plus, there’s a new character which might potentially add more spice to the mix. So you never know, this second season might be pretty good. Or it could be bad. Either way, I have no expectations given how the first season went.
Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san: A bit of (unrelated) backstory: I know this only because the anime club I’m in had the manga as one of the readings for the manga social. Otherwise known as Skilled Teaser Takagi-san, the show is basically about a middle schooler named Nishikata who gets teased by Takagi, a girl who sits next to him in class. In revenge Nishikata tries to tease Takagi himself, but it always ends up backfiring, resulting in Nishikata being teased yet again. From the little snippets I’ve seen/heard about, the show should mostly be comedic with the cute moments and max smug. I’ve seen complaints that it’s very repetitive and that there is no romantic progression, but the second point seems kinda null when you realize there’s a spinoff of the original manga, which is about something I won’t mention explicitly here (go look it up if you’re curious). With that in mind, I’m not expecting too much, just some occasional cute and funny moments that may or may not be repetitive.
Mitsuboshi Colors: Uhh... yeah. Now before you call me a lolicon, let me tell you what this show is about. Basically just three kids living their daily lives exploring the town and all that.
...Wow that doesn’t make it better does it. Well, whatever. The show’s looks to be a relaxing slice-of-life, and that’s something I’m about (as long as it has something else to it like comedy). Fun fact: the manga shares the same author as Hitoribocchi no ○○ Seikatsu, a manga I’m reading right now that I’m really enjoying. Just a random fact, but it’s a good sign that the source at least has good roots.
From the comments I read about it, Mitsuboshi Colors looks to be wholesome, with similarities to Ichigo Marshmallow. Also apparently the kids are savage af, which is both realistic (kids that age are too real) and right up my alley. Overall sounds like a good time, and though I’m trying not too expect too much, I’m wouldn’t lie if I said this was a show I’m excited for.
...So yeah. Pls don’t call the FBI. Yet.
Poputepipikku: I have nothing to say about this show. Seriously, go read the MAL description (or lack thereof) and watch the PVs, and tell me you know what this show is about.
The only basis I have is the 4-koma this is based off of, which has translations somewhere in the web as well as video adaptation things here. I guess if you want a sense of what this show is about the videos are the best way to figure that out. Basically what I get is that this show is one huge meme.
So yeah I’m super down for it. Bring it on. Absolutely no clue what it is, but sure. I like memes. The danker the better.
Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan 2: I’m probably less excited for this show than I should be, I admit. Towards the end of the first season, the show felt a bit stale since they added more and more new characters which made it feel like a “too many cooks” situation where it felt like they were running out of ideas with the old characters. I’m a tad worried about this second season because they’re adding even more new characters, as if we didn’t have enough in the first place. Though if there’s anything to be hopeful about, it’s that they’re keeping the format of 5 shorts a week. Definitely the better format than just a compilation episode at the end of the week.
At the end of the day though, this show made me laugh almost every episode, and that’s a rare thing nowadays (DAE sadbois). So yeah, I’m still pretty excited this got a second season and hopeful that the new characters add more depth to the show. Guess we’ll see.
Violet Evergarden: OOOH. It’s time. It’s time to be hyped, but then tell myself to keep that hype down. Because it’s here, ladies and gents. The one I’ve been waiting for ever since May 27, 2016, the day the CM came out (this one). Now is the animation going to be as good as in the CM? Hell no. But man, I’m not gonna lie: I’m super excited for this one. Like SUPER excited.
There’s a bunch of reasons for that: the biggest reason is the involvement of Kyoto Animation. I admit I’m a KyoAni fanboy: I’ve watched most of their shows and with the exception of Musaigen no Phantom World, I’ve liked all of them (and even Musaigen started getting good towards the end). Of course the animation in Violet Evergarden is going to be high quality (that’s a given), but the story is apparently top-notch as well, something a bit unprecedented with works adapted by KyoAni. Most of the LNs/manga that KyoAni adapt are... a bit lacking. From K-On to Chuunibyou to Free, all of them weren’t the best source material. Though most of them were good enough to win Honorable Mention in KyoAni’s annual light novel competition, none won the Grand Prize. And that was the case for the first few years the competition ran: no Grand Prize winners. Until Violet Evergarden won the Grand Prize. Sure says something about the LN’s story. Combine that with KyoAni’s ability to fit a source material to an anime format well, and you get the biggest hype train since One Punch Man.
But what about the plot itself? That was a mystery to me until now, and after doing some research into the story it looks like it’s about a robot/cyborg who formerly was fighting in the battlefield who now works as a “Auto Memories Doll” who “carries peoples’ thoughts and memories and converts them into words“. Apparently it’s similar to Kino’s Journey only with more drama/interesting characters (so most likely episodic). Which I’m down for since I enjoyed Kino’s Journey (well at least the old one). Also small side note: minimal romance until the end, which is fine since I think a romance subplot would distract from the main storyline.
So yeah, I’m on the hype train. But with this big of a hype train, anything less than a 9/10 would be disappointing. So to prevent that from happening, I’m trying to keep myself in check by thinking about the last time I got onto a hype train, which was Mahoutsukai no Yome. And look how well that turned out... “on hold” (though I may pick it up... 5% chance). AKA anything can happen, and because of that expectations are “low” -- but let’s be honest I’m hyped for this. Let’s go.
Yuru Camp△: Let me get the joke out of the way now: LOL DAE READ AS “YURI CAMP”?????
I’m sorry.
Anyway, if there’s one word to describe this, it’s COMFY. The best way I’ve seen this described is a combination of Non Non Biyori and Yama no Susume. And having seen both shows, I can see the maximum comfy this will provide. The plot is simple: cute girls doing cute camping. Slice-of-life + comfy + CGDCT = good stuff for this guy.
Though doing further research, there were some things that turned me off a bit. One is the following words: yuri undertones/subtext. Those two (three?) words have the potential to ruin the show, though it depends on how strong they are. If we’re talking Hibike Euphonium levels, we’re doomed. If we’re talking Love Live levels, we’re fine. Though I wish CGDCTs nowadays shouldn’t feel like they need yuri undertones, if it’s not too overbearing I can just brush it off.
Another thing that concerns me a bit is the studio handling this: C-Station, which doesn’t have the most inspiring list of shows made. Now they’ve done a few full-length shows, but I’ve never heard of them before, so it’s... unknown how they’ll be able to handle Yuru Camp.
A final, nitpicky thing is past experiences. Watching the PV made me feel comfy, something I didn’t feel since... Flying Witch. Which, while comfy, was also boring. Who knows, maybe Yuru Camp will actually have humor to it so I don’t fall asleep while watching it. But generally comfy = boring for me (with an exception being Non Non Biyori), so it’s something to be wary about for me personallly.
Though negatives aside, this show has great potential and it’s one of the handful of shows I’m excited for. Let’s get comfy.
Short Leash Shows
Citrus: Hoo boy... if I have to be honest, I’ll be super surprised if I end up finishing this show. This is one of the few times where I read the source material beforehand, so I can share my experiences and tell y’all what to expect. And let me tell you... expect this show to be bad. I know it’s being really hyped because it’s yuri, but holy melodrama Batman. Now I admit I’m not the biggest fan of yuri, and I haven’t read much works in the genre. But still... even I know there’s a lot of better works out there with the yuri, most of which haven’t gotten an anime adaptation.
There are two main problems with this show. The first is the characters. Specifically one character, the student council pres/stepsister. Her actions make absolutely no sense, and are the driving force of the questionable moments in the manga. Which brings me to the second problem: the drama, which stems from some of the weirdest problems that shouldn’t even be problems. I’d state an example, but that’s spoilers that I kinda want to avoid. This image sums up the manga well in my opinion (thanks to /r/animemes). Add the fact that the yuri isn’t even that good, and you got a dropped manga, one of the few I dropped (my manga list for reference).
With that in mind, I feel kinda bad for the people really hyped for this show. Then again, most of them are hyped for the yuri, which... I don’t blame them to be honest given the lack of good yuri anime out there. Still... have some standards y’all. Expect this show to be one of the “most disappointing” shows out there.
Darling in the FranXX: Basic facts about this anime: Trigger and A-1 Pictures are collaborating on it and it’s a mecha show. In terms of actual plot, the MAL summary is a pretty good idea of what we should expect. Because otherwise, nobody knows since this is an anime original. Looks interesting enough though, so might as well give it a few episodes and see what’s up.
Gakuen Babysitters: So this looks pretty cute. Basically we got a guy and his brother who gets taken in by a chairman of a school, later becoming the school daycare’s new babysitter. Tragic backstory aside (the guy loses both his parents), the manga is apparently diabetes-level of adorable, which I’m down for. Cute things are cute.
Hakumei to Mikochi: Small girls (9 cm tall) living small lives. That’s basically it. Such a small anime deserves a small description. So I’ll say this: looks to be comfy and laid-back. I’m about that.
Koi wa Ameagari no You ni: And here’s the winner of the “Questionable Plotline of the Season”. We got high school girl who falls in love with her 45-year old manager. AKA the problem I had with Blend S taken to the next level... you would think. But I think if the show does it tastefully, it won’t be too bad. And apparently that’s what it is: a feel good slice-of-life/romance with interesting characters. Plus the fact that it’s not the older guy being all lovey-dovey this time, which helps a lot. This should be an interesting one to keep an eye on, both in terms of the anime itself and the reception towards it.
Random side note: I honestly think it’s kinda sad when the top comments of /r/anime’s thread for the PV of this all talk about Aimer and how they’ll watch the show because of her only. Seriously... that’s some weak reasoning for watching an anime, when only a minute and a half out of 23 minutes is the thing you’re watching for. You don’t see me watching Eromanga-sensei because ClariS did the OP. Just a bit of a personal gripe.
Ramen Daisuki Koizumi-san: As you can kinda tell from the title, the show’s about a girl named Koizumi who really likes ramen, and goes to various places to eat their ramen. I have no idea what to expect given there isn’t much info out there about this, but I guess I’ll expect lots of ramen to be eaten. The way this is laid out, I’m hoping it’s a short, because otherwise it’ll drag on for way too long.
Sora yori mo Tooi Basho: Next to the obvious shows like Violet Evergarden, this is the one show I’m seeing /r/anime announce as a dark horse AOTS candidate. But doing further information, I’m kinda confused as to why. It doesn’t really fit the standards of the typical show that /r/anime really loves (Made in Abyss, Houseki no Kuni, etc.) considering it looks like it’s just a CGDCT about girls going to the South Pole. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a dark turn that happens given the setting of Antarctica, nobody really knows given this is another anime original. But hey, I’m not complaining. I like CGDCTs. And this season’s got a bunch of them, like...
Slow Start: This one. Plot doesn’t reveal anything special, just about a girl who started school a year late. That’s it.
Background-wise, though, this show has good potential. Same director as GochiUsa, same magazine as a lot of CGDCT anime, etc. I’m not expecting much from this show, but there are points for it to be good.
Takunomi.: Like Osake something something from this season, we have another show about adults drinking. A 15-minute short, has potential but like the shows above I’m not expecting much.
One Shot Shows
Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku: Holy moly, I had the biggest case of deja vu while watching the PV for this show. Just look at the MC for this show: the most generic MC I’ve seen, so generic it literally looks like the MC for that isekai smartphone show that came out a few seasons ago. Heysus Christos, what is this baloney. Seriously, compare these two: here and here. I’m honestly more impressed than anything.
Anyway, the show looks to be your standard generic isekai. Yay. My favorite.
Märchen Mädchen: It’s kind of an isekai... I don’t know, at this point I’m tired, just read the summary. I like the eyes. That’s all I really have to say about the show.
Ryuuou no Oshigoto!: Yeah the summary says it best. A moe Sangatsu no Lion, though I’m sure the only similarities it has with the show is the theme of shogi.
Sanrio Danshi: One big commercial for Sanrio characters. At least that’s the vibe I’m getting. Also shades of shounen-ai. Eh.
And that’s all for this really long post! Thanks for reading! Quick announcement: the newest version of The Week in Anime is probably gonna be delayed a few hours since I’ve been busy being on vacation (yes I’m busy even now). Apologies for that, but it should be a short post anyway since there were only three shows to watch.
Anyways, thanks again for reading, and I’ll see you in the next post very soon!
