hey! I always wanted to give Dragon Age (Inquisition) a try since so many people love it. How do you like the game? Also do ypu use any mods for gameplay? :-) thank you!

okay SO i know i complained a lot abt the character creation/models on here but i will say this! the scenery and world building in this game is GORG they still hold up pretty well in 2024! As for combat, I dont find it hard to get, im playing as a Knight enchanter atm its nice mix between a warrior and mage- i can get up close w a magic sword or hit from far away but i am a cheater w mods so take that as u will! You don't need to play the previous games to understand DAI but I know I needed to watch some videos on the lore bc i never bothered reading the books in game 😬 i watched this one (1) n got the gist.

Now for mods, I had a hard time loading the game using both frosty mod manager and the DAIMOD manager but turns out the fix was super easy i was just stupid, you have to the delete the ModData folder in ur install location b4 using frosty- I use this guide for modding the game now, and I have no issues- or well, none i can't fix ;)

MODS/GAMEPLAY recs I have are this

Use this quest order for the game! (i was TOILING away in the damn hinterlands man :( ignore shards/astrarium quests, and really exhaust those dialogue options with ur advisors n companions- i totally forgot to do that before making it to skyhold so some dialogue feel off now)

Mods I use for my Human! fem inquisitor: Katherine Face & Eyebrow Textures, Anto Hairstyles for DAI, TW3 Outfits for Dai, Flemmeth Armor for Human Female, Twisted Ponytails, Enhanced Character Creation (installed in DAIMOD btw)

Cheats/Fixes: More Banter, Kill all Hostiles Cheat, No Perk Requirements

i love mods - i hate mods, i just had to spend an hour breaking and unbreaking dai just to get past that stupid white screen of death during the journey to skyhold

i have been trying to make a new playthrough in dai for almost two weeks now and it still hasnt worked i swear ive never played a game that doesnt want u to play it so bad in my life

finally managed to figure out how to install the modmaker properly AND. IF YOU SEE A SCREEN LIKE THIS CHANGE YOUR COMPUTER'S LANGUAGE TO BRITISH ENGLISH. my computer's language was turkish and it took me 3 clean re-installs to find out i have to change the computer's language to english to fix it :'D

so i've made my inky a skyhold (and underarmor) replacer mod using the elf apostate outfit but for some reason the transparency ( see the gold belt and the shoulder fur ) isn't working

despite the alpha being set up on the diffuse texture ( i've tried importing it as .dds, .tga and .png and there is no change, the transparency is never working )

is anyone still making mod for this game give me advice on how to fix this ? or is this an unfixable Frosty thing ?

Thinking I’m gonna have to start raw dogging dai idk why everyone decided we’re gonna use frosty to make better hair mods if I have to use it ima kill myself

I am at such a loss. Some of my daimods are working while others inexplicably aren't suddenly. Now the loading screen freezes when entering the Black Emporium even though that wasn't the case pre-computer switch. There are no new mods. Just a straight transfer across. I hate it here.

Gods the past couple days for me have just been

Try to boot up dragon age inquisition-> frosty mod manager doesn't work -> immediately get frustrated and play bg3 instead -> see an absolutely gorgeous drawing of Dorian Pavus during a loading screen -> become overwhelmed with the urge to play dragon age inquisition

rundown for how to mod dragon age: inquisition with frosty mod manager!!!!

@fatagenda, here you go!!! i hope this is helpful, but you can always reach out to me if you need some help with any of this! :) disclaimer: i have dragon age: inquisition on steam and this is based solely on my trial and error, but i imagine it works similarly regardless of the launcher. also, some notes before we start: - if you've just reinstalled da:i, make sure to open dragon age: inquisition in its vanilla state before you start with frosty. the ea app may have a hissy fit if you don't. - do not use any version higher than 1.0.6.3 when working on da:i modding. - if you have used daimods at all in the past, please check this nexusmods thread to make certain your fbmods will work as they are supposed to. - you don't need the entire toolsuite - unless you'd like to make mods - so just install the mod manager.

here are the steps:

get frosty mod manager if you don't have it already. here (CadeEvs) is where you should get it from. extract the ZIP and open the application, FrostyModManager.

it will ask you to select a game profile. if it did not auto-detect dragon age: inquisition, you're going to path to dragonageinquisition.exe.

click on DA:I and hit select! if this is the first time you're loading it up, it will take a little while.

once you're in the manager, navigate over to nexusmods or any other modding sites that you use. install whatever mod you want to use so long as it has an .fbmod version.

click on Add Mods, go to your downloads and find the ZIP file. click on that file and open it, then apply the mod. (edit: this may vary! always check the installation instructions.)

click the launch button.

steam will open a dialogue asking if you want to launch the game with custom arguments. click continue.

enjoy your modded game! hopefully

Holy shit, I got the old DAI Mod Maker to work... which means I can convert old daimod files into Frosty!

Frosty works with most daimod files naturally but sometimes there are conflicts, so this is great.
