a gaze of brilliant blue shoots up from beneath a layer of lashes devoid of all the colour she so adores. damien westwood stands before her looking every bit as nervous as he does suspicious. one thing is for certain : no good news ever, ever begins with the words promise me you'll stay calm ━━ this she knows from years of experience working with one haymitch abernathy.
Tumblr media
she will make no such promise. there is an exaggerated flicker of her gaze as she sizes up her unexpected visitor, followed at last by the tired lilt of her voice : " what is it, damien? "
@chaoslulled : “now, before i say anything, promise me you’ll stay calm.” from damien!

Celebrating 30 years of Dazed’s boundary-pushing storytelling at the forefront of youth culture, this book reveals the past, present, and future of Dazed through its bold cover designs and manifesto-like headlines.
In 1991, the first issue of Dazed & Confused was released as a single A2 foldout newsprint by a then 20-year-old Jefferson Hack and the photographer Rankin. Now, 30 years later, what began as a print magazine has gone on to provoke a change in consciousness, becoming a vital cultural manifesto for today. Created for an audience that wants to be both informed and inspired to imagine, its radical approach to publishing means that Dazed is still at the forefront of youth culture today. Split into ten chapters—taken from the magazine’s most memorable cover lines—this book explores how these early manifestos reflect the magazine’s ethos today. Time-traveling from the ’90s to now, a new generation of image makers sit side by side with archival materials to showcase how Dazed has always interpreted celebrity through its own boundary-pushing lens: from Alexander McQueen and David Bowie’s first official, recorded conversation and the designer’s “Fashion-Able?” cover, to a rare appearance and guest-edit by Chelsea Manning, to rapper Young Thug shot by Harley Weir.

@clpdwings | DAMIEN WESTWOOD ( plotted starter )
Tumblr media
"I thought this wasn’t happening again.”
She’s being petty. She knows being petty. But she thinks she’s earned it; he keeps showing up here with dates, like their friends’ backyard is the fucking Met Gala and he’s arriving to be looked at. ( She keeps showing up with dates, too, but it’s because she can’t let him think he’s winning this breakup. ) Astoria’s underwear is on the other side of the room, and she’s a little unsteady on her feet when she goes to collect it — she’s learned by now not to wear heels anywhere they could run into each other, for safety’s sake.
The worst of it is that she’s been thinking about this for the past week, since she was invited. They know what happens, every time; they find a room no one else is using. They don’t talk. He keeps his hand over her mouth so no one else will hear them. He looks beautiful like this, hair a mess and face flushed and her lipstick smeared across his throat. She never tells him it’s there. She spends the rest of the night looking at it like she thinks she can rewrite history if she tries hard enough.
She never brings anyone she’s seen before, or plans to see again. She tells herself every time that it isn’t happening this time, that they got it out of their systems. ( But it’s going to keep happening. It has to keep happening. )
( Her parents were relieved when she told them, dispassionate and monotone, that things were over with Damien; as far as they were concerned he was her rebellion, her chance to fuck around on the wrong side of the tracks. The first time it happened, she’d brought the insipid and exhausting self-described entrepreneur her mother had insisted she meet, and when he asked where she’d been on the drive home she’d looked him in the eye and said I was fucking my ex in the bathroom. I’ll drop you off at yours. It was the last time her parents tried to set her up. It was the last time they mentioned Damien, too. She’d taken it as a victory and had almost called him to tell him, before she remembered. )
There’s something impossibly necessary to it. They’re in the same room and her vision starts to blur and her breathing gets uneven and he touches her again and she’s fine. He didn’t bother to cover her mouth this time, and when she said his name he kissed her like he wanted to swallow the sound, and she nearly wept. She never realizes how much she misses him until the night after, when she feels his absence like a wound and she can only occasionally stop herself from dialing the number she deleted from her contacts months ago.
( At least she knows he’s going to think about her tonight, alone in his own bed; she’d seen how he looked at the new tattoos. At least she knows she won’t be alone in missing him so much she can barely breathe. )
She crosses the room to reach him again, shirt still open over a bra he’d picked out back when they were together, nothing but a pair of stockings under her skirt. It’s almost magnetic, the pull that guides her hands to curl against his bare sides and tug him closer, and on a whim she slips her panties into his pocket. He’d picked those out, too. Astoria lets her hands skate up across his chest before curling against the sides of his neck, thumbs brushing along his jaw, and she looks at him with unquestionable want, unquestionable devotion. Then, like a confession, voice soft and carrying an audible note of insecurity — “You were late tonight. I almost thought you weren’t coming.”

damien westwood / chainsaw man verse.
the manipulation devil. able to control the thoughts of others for a limited amount of time and influence them into action. in order to use his power, those he's contracted with need to give up one of their memories. a side effect of his power though is that it causes pain to him as well, given that he is a hybrid. this leads to intense migraines and eye pain in his left eye –– the one that is the color of ice due to his heterochromia and his power.
was reborn as a hybrid devil / human in the body of damien westwood. unlike most devils, he doesn't exactly hate humans –– he feels far more empathy for them than he should, and has a fondness for siblings given damien's connection with his sister adelaide. being a hybrid has given him far more connection to humanity than most devils –– he feels a full spectrum of emotions and more often than not, masquerades as a human completely.
he only uses his power if he's in a spot and needs to use it; he doesn't enjoy the pain kickback that he gets from it, nor does he enjoy manipulating others thoughts. if he is at full power, he can also alter memories. these are things that he would much rather keep to himself –– thoughts and memories are tricky things, and they take a toll on him, both from guilt and from the strength it takes to do so.
he tries to evade public safety as much as he possibly can –– he doesn't want to make contracts with people because he knows what they'll have to give up in exchange for his power. because of this, he's forced into being a devil hunter, hunting his own kind. the only other escape is to be a contracted devil living in a cell, especially after makima and given what he can do.
he will use his power in a combat situation, but much rather would rely on his fists and actual fights than to do so. the repercussions won't be felt on the battlefield, but will be felt later on once the adrenaline rush is over with.
he feels immense guilt for killing his own kind, and feels guilt for the people that are hurt because of them. it can make him uncooperative when it comes down to life or death.

Dude!!! Please enlighten me about your OCs!!!
God... I've got so many..... But!!! I'll start with just my main five boys that occupy my every waking thought because I love and adore them Gonna yeet this under a readmore
Okay so quick side note, all of my ocs for the most part are for roleplays with friends, and if their not their for video games or dnd lmao so they tend to have a bunch of different varations/storylines and stuff like that. I've always wanted to make a actual like, comic or book out of a lot of the stories but I've never managed it, so none of the characters have like, a base storyline currently asdfjnasd So their motivations and personalities change/shift based on the story their in.
But! First off we have my baby boy and the oldest oc out of this group, Grech
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He's just... my emo disaster I love him very much. He's very quiet and a bit shy, he tends not to show much emotion most of the time? But he just... wants to be friends with people and he wants to be around the people he loves and he's such a good boy and I just -breathes in- love him lots
He's also an absolute idiot this bad boy can fit so many bad decisions in him-
He has a twin sister named Flare who he loves and adores, and he's also got a giant black fluffy cat named Twilight who's his emotional support animal who's... so good.... He's just. Struggling along. Getting angsted by me constantly. He's a big comfort character for me, playing him is like wearing a big cozy sweater sometimes. I just... really love him.
Then we've got Carter!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carter is my disaster child, he also may or may not be my whump character, he's just constantly getting into trouble but he tries so hard and he loves people so much and so hard and god ahhh
His whole thing is like... being really compassionate/always trying to see the best in people, which can land him in hot water sometimes because he tends to ignore red flags because of it. He has really big abandonment issues and is just always struggling emotionally and is like... usually feeling shitty but he tries not to let it show. He's snarky and sassy, he tends to try and get a rise out of people he doesn't like and just isn't afraid to Cause Problems On Purpose occasionally. He's super cute, playful, and friendly, he calls his favorite people 'cochise', and... like he's a relatively new oc, I only made him about three years ago, but I feel like I've had him forever I literally love him so much. He also has a cat like Grech, his cat is a syphnx named Sage and she is wonderful.
I could talk about Carter for hours, I have so many feelings about every version of him I've written, he just fills me with feelings. He was meant to be a temporary throwaway character that only showed up for a bit but he just instantly stole my heart and I haven't stopped loving him since.
In the interest of time however let's move on to Damien
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damien, similar to Carter, was actually meant to be a throwaway villain character and then I, you guessed it, got fucking attACHED-
His first appearance had him dramatically draping himself across a chair in a dramatic entrance and he's ruled my life and my RP partner's life ever since
Tumblr media
(Aforementioned dramatic chair sitting)
Damien is very much so the 'I don't care about anything except oops now I care about you' trope, he has trouble being emotionally open but he's so sweet once he does open up. He shows his affection through things like gift giving and acts of service and he's really tender and just... an absolute hopeless romantic. Simp. Dumb pining gay.
I just... I love playing Damien so much. He's so fun and dramatic and pretty, I love thinking about him and his motivations and just aaaaaaa he's a good fucking boy dude
Then we have the apple of my eye Jared!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jared is an absolute sweetheart, just a bouncy lil fella, filled with warmth and also trauma because all of my characters are sad akdfjnaksjd. Jared is just!! Always doing his fucking best man, he wants the best for people. He tries to be really optimistic and like, sunshine-y, even when he's not feeling that way, and he tries to be really caring. He also represses allllll of his anger which is like... y'know... not great.....
But he's fine, probably.
He's actually the only one out of these characters that only has one consistent love interest (My rp partner's character Isaac, who I'd die for) and they are um....... fucking precious I love them so much.
P much all of these characters are ADHD/Autistic bc,, I play them but Jared was the first that I intentionally played that way and as such has consistent hyperfixations and special interests (Namely Tangled, Mulan, Fall out boy, and most of all, spiderman) so I really love that about him.
And, last, but definitely not least, is the chaos son himself Seth
Tumblr media
(tungle will only let me use ten photos and I don't like his character sheet anyway so only outfit ref for him akjsdfasdj. As a quick rundown, his full name is Seth Laurens, he's 4'11, he's trans and gay, he's got adhd, autism, and ptsd, and he is a bastard)
Seth is probably the most recent out of any of these characters tbh? I only started getting really into him as a character over the past year or two but god... He's fucking fantastic. Pure chaos. ADHD embodiment.
Seth just has so much energy and rage and very little impulse control, he's constantly wrecking shop and not even meaning too. He's a tiny 4'11 himbo, not a fucking braincell in his lil head. He's very awkward and bad at making relationships but he tries so hard and once he does he latches on so hard to people and just loves them so much. He doesn't really think he's worthy of being cared about most of the time tho
He still has plenty of, sometimes unearned, confidence though. Nothing can stop this stubborn boy once he puts his mind to somethin he's fucking GOING. I love him.
But yeah!! Those are my boys!!! If you wanna learn more abt em I've got a lot more information and stuff on their toyhouses bc I have a,, hyperfixation on my ocs and I can never stop thinking about them. Thank you so much for letting me ramble a bit Tea!!! I really appreciate it ssfdiasask

Tracey Emin, To Meet My Past (2002)
https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-5709375
Childhood
Tracey Emin was born in Surrey, in England. She grew up in Margate, on the coast of Kent, with her twin brother Paul. She lived with her mother in a successful seaside hotel, where she claims she was treated "like a princess." Her Turkish father lived with them for half of the week, spending the other half with his wife and other children. After a few years, Emin's father left and took his money with him, leaving Emin's mother bankrupt.
The family was then forced to live in poverty; Emin later recalled that they had two meters, one for gas and one for electricity, but they could never afford to have them both on at the same time. When she was 13, Emin was raped; something that she later claimed, "happened to a lot of girls."
Early Training and Work
Emin left Margate to study fashion at the Medway College of Design between 1980 and 1982. She met the avant-garde personality Billy Childish, who was also a student at the college until he was expelled. Her relationship with the colourful writer, their work at Childish's small press, and her study of printing in Maidstone Art College, are all what Emin considers important artistic experiences in her maturing as an artist.
In 1987, Emin's relationship with Childish ended and she moved to London. She studied for an MA in painting at the Royal College of Art, which she received in 1989. However, after leaving the college she went through an emotionally traumatic period in which she had two abortions, and this experience caused her to destroy all the work she had made at the Royal College.
While she was still coming to terms with her own artistic practice, she influenced a reactive movement called Stuckism, which sought to promote figurative painting rather than the sort of conceptual art that Emin was focused on at the time. It was founded in 1999 by Emin's ex-boyfriend Billy Childish. The movement's name was inspired by Emin, when she had told Childish his paintings were "Stuck! Stuck! Stuck!"
In the years after breaking up with Childish, once Emin rose into fame, he became very vocal about Emin's art practice. He opposed the art business and in turn the popularity of her work and said, "Taking cultural things and turning them into mere commerce is very dangerous. Professional football has ruined football and professional art has ruined art. A decadence and superficiality have set in and sometimes I wonder if maybe we have got what we deserve. I think it is odd that the Brit artists cite the influence of someone like Duchamp who was involved in anti-art and who was taking the piss out of the pompous pretentious art establishment. The biggest irony is that now they are that pretentious art establishment themselves, yet they still put forward this idea that they are undermining something." Childish's own Stuckism movement is more about rejecting the frenzy of conceptual art and sought to champion the work of figurative painters. The Stuckism movement is still quite active and is famous for protesting the Turner Prize every year to show their continued opposition. The Stuckism art movement is an action against artists such as Emin, and yet her artistic presence is the basis for their fundamentals, for their movement would not exist without Emin. She inspired the movement not only through her criticism of Childish's work, but also through her artwork and the public acceptance of her work. They may be in opposition to her but require her brand of art fame to continue their plight.
Mature Period
Upon moving to London, Emin become friendly with many of the other artists who would later be called the Young British Artists, which included Sarah Lucas and Damien Hirst. The group began to exhibit together in 1988, although Emin did not join ranks with them artistically until the early 1990s. The gallerist Charles Saatchi was a supporter and collector of the artists from the beginning of their careers and is often given credit for "discovering" them. The name of the group was from the title of an exhibition at Saatchi's gallery in March 1992 titled "Young British Artists I" but it was artist and writer Michael Corris who referred to the group of artists with that title in an ArtForum article in May 1992. Often all artists of that generation from Britain are called YBAs as it now holds a historic reference.
In 1993, Emin joined with Sarah Lucas to open a shop called "The Shop" in Bethnal Green, which was in the East End of London. They sold work by both artists, including anything from t-shirts to ash trays, to paper mache sex toys to dresses, adding a previously little-seen commercialism to their artistic practices, which would become a defining feature of Young British Art.
Emin had her first solo exhibition at London's White Cube in the same year. Named My Major Retrospective, Emin drew together a collection of personal items and photographs, creating a part-installation part-archive with a strongly autobiographical slant. This element of autobiography is key to her ongoing practice.
In the middle of the 1990s, Emin began a relationship with curator and art world figure Carl Freedman. Freedman was friendly with Damien Hirst and had worked with him on some of his important early shows that introduced Young British Art to the public. In 1994 the couple travelled in the US together, where Emin paid her way by doing readings. They also spent time in Whitstable on the Kent coast together, often using a beach hut that Emin purchased with her friend Sarah Lucas. She has spoken about how much she enjoyed owning property for the first time saying, "I was completely broke, and it was really brilliant, having your own property by the sea." In 1999 she later turned the hut into an artwork by bringing the structure from the beachfront into the Saatchi Gallery and calling the work, The Last Thing I Said to You is Don't Leave Me Here (1999).
In 1995, Freedman curated a show called "Minky Manky" for which he encouraged Emin to make artwork larger and less ephemeral. The result was her well-known work Everyone I Have Ever Slept With 1963-1995 (1995), which was a tent embroidered with the names of everyone with whom she had shared a bed, sexual or otherwise. This artistic touch through words is a common theme throughout her work. Emin uses her own handwriting, as seen in her neon messages, embroidered words, monoprints and hand-cut letters for her applique designs. Misspellings and grammar mistakes are present in her artworks, as if to add humiliations and failures to her authenticity.
Emin first came to the attention of the wider British public when she appeared on a television show about the Turner Prize in 1997, where she was belligerent and drunk, swearing on live television among a panel of academics. She finished her appearance by saying, "I'm leaving now, I wanna be with my friends, I wanna be with my mum. I'm gonna phone her, and she's going to be embarrassed about this conversation, this is live, and I don't care. I don't give a fuck about it." She ended with, "you people aren't relating to me now, you've lost me" before taking off her lapel mic while still talking and walking off in the middle of the live show.
Two years after her drunken television appearance, Emin was nominated for the Turner Prize for her controversial work My Bed (1998). Only one British artist of the four nominated can win the prize, and Emin lost the Prize that year to Steve McQueen. The surrounding press coverage dubbed her the "bad girl of British art". At the time, many voiced opinions about the types of stains and impurities contained in her artwork, even the lowest English tabloids weighed in. Although she never won the Turner Prize (yet), it was the catalyst for her fame.
Her work evolved during this period and she developed a more specific style. Her choice to use needlework and applique techniques place her work within a tradition of feminist discourse within modern and contemporary art. These techniques were considered domestic handicrafts and were typically considered low in the hierarchy of art, and a part of normalized feminine practice - a concept that Feminist art has waged war against with significant success. Emin herself has no fear of being associated with "low art" or "women's work", for she embraces her own sexuality and femininity; and most certainly places importance upon it.
Current Practice
Emin's personal life and public appearances have become less sensational since the late 1990s. Her work is in a variety of important collections, and many celebrities have become collectors of her art, including Elton John and George Michael. She has also become friends with many famous people from the music and fashion worlds, including Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones, Vivian Westwood, Kate Moss, and Madonna. Madonna has described Emin as "intelligent and wounded and not afraid to expose herself."
In 2007, Emin was made a Royal Academician at London's Royal Academy of the Arts, marking her ascent into the upper echelons of British art society and her acceptance by the establishment. She was later also made a professor of drawing at the institution. In 2013, she was included on a list of the 100 most powerful women in the country by BBC Radio 4, and in the same year she was awarded a CBE for her services to the arts.
For the 52nd Venice Biennale in 2007 Emin was the second female British artist to be nominated to represent the British Pavilion (the first was Rachel Whiteread in 1997). She exhibited a work titled, Borrowed Light which featured many of her early drawings alongside her recent works. The show received mixed critique, and she was criticized for being limited in her art practice.
In 2015, Emin took the unusual decision to "get married" to a rock in her garden in France. She later stated that "somewhere on a hill facing the sea, there is a very beautiful ancient stone, and it's not going anywhere," describing her rock-husband as "an anchor, something I can identify with." She symbolically chose to wear her father's funeral shroud for the short and unconventional ceremony. This is to be understood as a universal expression of love, and an expression of the soul or the invisible self. Emin has announced numerous times that she no longer has sex and is not invested in physical conquest, but rather, seeks to focus on love and her work.
The Legacy of Tracey Emin
Emin's work as part of the Young British Artists movement placed her firmly within a key legacy that was to affect the development of art in Britain for years to come. Similarly, she holds an international stage, for her work tackles universal ideas through her relationship to human behaviour and gender. Her seminal work My Bed helped redefine what a liberated woman can be. Emin’s work influenced a generation of female artists who explore womanhood and feminism through a self-confessional tone. These include artists such as Marie Jacotey-Voyatzis, whose print works explore her emotional life as a woman and include Emin-like misspellings, and Laure Prouvost, a Turner Prize winner who works with self-revelatory video as well as textiles and found objects to create striking tableaux. Emin has evaded aligning her ideology with a larger political cause, and has stated, "I'm not happy being a feminist. It should all be over by now."
Her work can be understood as belonging to the ethos of third-wave feminism; a belief that a woman can define her sexuality on her own terms. The lack of symbology in Emin's work forces audiences to focus on the real and often taboo aspects of femininity through modern women's issues, such as menstruation, abortion, promiscuity, and the shame associated with these topics. She has carved her own place and continues to produce artwork with her signature strong, yet vulnerable edge.
Emin continues to be active in her art practice, and the basis of her work remains tied to physical identity through corporeal and spiritual anguish. She is an active participant in her artwork, and through this she lends an openness and vulnerability to her audience through universal emotion. She rejects discussion of the feminist authority in her work, and yet she engages directly with modern female identity. Art allows the violation of social norms, and in turn a way for viewers to enter sharing the human social condition - often in a controlled environment.

Give Me Story Concept Feedback!
I have 3 ideas for a new G/t story I’ve been mulling over for awhile now. Mind you, I don’t know how much I’d be able to actually commit to writing, but if I were to pursue one, I’m curious to know which seems best to everyone. I like all three of them a lot and keep going back and forth between which I’d most like to seriously consider writing. Below the read-more I wrote summaries for each one and at the end there will be a link to a survey to vote for which you like best. Thank you!
Rough Title: “Being Neighbors”
Brief Summary of Premise: In a world where humans and giants live separately from one another, the human Solano family inadvertently moves into a giant neighborhood. Unable to afford to move, the Solanos receive aid from the human government who provides them with experimental growth pills that can temporarily grow them to giant size in order to prevent the neighbors from finding out what they really are. 17 year old Dani Solano has always been curious about giants, but like most humans, harbors a considerable fear of them. Now able to pass as a giant herself, Dani eagerly begins to spend time with her giant classmate and neighbor, Caleb. However, as their friendship grows, Dani becomes more and more reluctant to continue lying to him, especially given Caleb’s significant desire to get to meet a human in real life.
Rough Title: “Sheep in Wolf’s Clothing”
Brief Summary of Premise: Within the past ten years, tensions between the human kingdom of Ranstead and the giant kingdom of Vendrite have intensified. While officially the two kingdoms continue to abide by an old treaty that prevents outright hostilities, over time more and more transgressions have brought the prospect of war closer. In order to get an insight into what Vendrite has planned, the General of the Queen’s Royal Army decided to send a soldier in disguise to infiltrate the King of Vendrite’s court. To achieve this, the General enlisted a sorceress to enchant an amulet that, when worn, transforms the wearer into a giant. Dame Drea Faraday was chosen to act as this spy. Drea ends up taking on the role of the young king of Vendrite’s advisor, however she never counted on actually not hating King Roan. Now she must battle with her conscious as well as avoid suspicion from the human hating knight, Sir Damien Westwood.
Rough Title: “The Contest”
Brief Summary of Premise: In a world in which certain children are born with powers known as “aberrations”, it becomes necessary to properly train these abberants to manage their abilities. It is because of this that Westcott University of Aberrant Education was formed. Over the years, Westcott University has grown and developed into the ideal school for young adult aberrants to fully learn to control their aberrations. In order to best tend to the needs of the students, Westcott is separated into two tracks. The Mental Track caters to students with aberrations of the mind such as telepathy, precognition, and extrasensory perception. Meanwhile, the Physical Track caters to students with aberrations of a more tangible nature such as enhanced strength, pyrokinesis, and levitation. The Physical Track is unique in that it encourages students to form their own small teams. These teams play a significant role in the education of students in the Physical Track, often times being pitted against one another. While Mental and Physical are the official names for the two tracks, they have become colloquially known as Scholars and Brawlers respectively over time. Charlie Chamberlain is a junior at Westcott and possesses a highly unique aberration that allows her to mimic the aberrations of others. However, Charlie’s aberration tends to rub people the wrong way, hence why she has a nemesis named Asher. Asher so badly wants to see Charlie beaten that he challenges her to the dreaded Contest. The Contest is a special head-to-head fight between two students at the school. It will only take place once a student challenges another student, and they accept. The Contest takes place in the school’s indoor arena, where the two students will face off in front of the entirety of the school. It’s a free-for-all match that only ends once one of the students is unconscious, or has surrendered. It is very rare that the Contest will take place due to the risk involved in taking part in it. The school’s President has an aberration that allows her to increase and decrease the size of other people. She uses her aberration as a punishment to the losing student, who will be shrunk down to the size of a figurine for 3 weeks. This procedure is intended to both punish the loser and build their character in order to strengthen them. No special treatment is given to the shrunken student other than providing them with a few items of appropriate size. Despite the significant risk, and being outmatched by Asher, Charlie accepts the challenge...
