I have so many sketch stage wips but I think I kinda burnt myself out with the flurry of activity at the end of feb/beginning of March 😭 (also I decided I’d try and add a background to one of these wips and instantly my brain went hahahahaha and took away my art spoons)

Anywhere here is the really rough background sketch featured that is psyching me out of continuing. And my second go at redrawing a very old flystep piece of mine (I’d got to the painting on the first redraw before Christmas when I decided I fucking hated Lila’s face and had to tear her apart and go back to redo the sketch)

Yay!! just finished 6 Sidesteps by others in my style :)

I tried to draw them all differently, give them individual vibes, just the way how each of the Sidesteps are unique in their own ways. I am very happy how all pieces turned out and how nicely they all look in one place.

@westealtoys' Ryder Becker: oh this guy has a special place in my heart, I absolutely enjoyed to give him this cheeky alluring mood with that bitten lip, just the way I see him in my mind <3

@danielsullivan Walter Luna: oh my... I just LOVE his style, dude looks absolutely amazing in this grungy looks, and I felt like this slightly bored, judging all face expression suits him well :'D

@wonda-ch David Kingsley: I still feel that I need to know him better, but from what I saw about him, he gave me gentle, dreamy vibe. And when I got to know that David plays piano, okay, it suits this image even more. <3

@alaraxia Vesper Becerra: I really like how she is often pictured in lightly humorous situations, and looks always not impressed or tired, or maybe both, and when I saw her character sheet that she possibly doesn't like to take pictures at all, I guess this could be her mood when someone tried to picture her. :D

@capricule Cyrus Becker: that piece of Cyrus in front of the mirror was memorable to me, I really liked the palette used in that piece so I borrowed some of the colours for my portrait of him too. I don't know much about Cyrus, but I really like how you picture him. That simple clothing, small stubble on his face, massive scar going through his nose and cheek - all these details give me an impression of deeply struggling, lost soul. </3

@punkranger's Antoine Duman: he was one of the first Sidesteps I saw when I joined Fallen Hero fandom and since then I was always impressed by his unique punk style. Antoine clearly knows how to leave a memorable impression. :)

@danielsullivan i am still only in Spring Year 1 of Coral Island so i haven't seen but a FRACTION of the game so far but here are some facts for you

the game is currently in Early Access so that means CONS: it's not finished and so it doesn't have as many hair options or like. all of the furniture, cutscenes, etc. but PROS: it's only 30 bucks instead of the full 60 it will probably be when it's finished

the art is so good!!!! SO GOOD

the player character can be fat! you have a slider for the player character's body which i found exciting

you can also pick your pronouns and put in your own!!

you can pick the male body but have them always wearing a shirt as if they have a binder so when you change their clothes theyre never shirtless which i think is neat

i really like the plot of this which is similar to stardew's corporation vs local but leans more into the 'save the environment' stuff than stardew did!!

the animals are really cute and theres a really wide array of birds you can raise (i have seen a peacock and pigeons running around at the ranch)

MUSEUM THERES AN ANIMAL CROSSING STYLE MUSEUM I AM FROTHING AT THE MOUTH OVER THIS

the amount of diversity on the island is SO good omgggg im in love with everyone already

there's so many hot villagers. god. i am so torn jdkflsdf

apparently there is content for a whole year of the game so while its not COMPLETE yet i am really having fun and think it was worth the 30 bucks i spent on it. they've taken all of the best features from previous farming sims and put them all in one

(and have obviously learned from some of the biggest complaints of other games like for example you can slow down the game time which was a HUGE problem i had with stardew and why it took me so long to play)

“You’re healing well then, I should hope?”

“Maybe not as well as many would hope….” They sigh, hands settling in their lap as G’raha adjusts the blindfold. Maybe takes his time adjusting it more than he should. “They don’t know if my vision will ever return to normal.”

G’raha pauses and sighs, untucking a strand of hair. Letting it fall across their forehead; it’s growing back across the side of their head, just as the scars are turning less pink.

“There is no need for you right now, Eyrie…” He says quietly, picking away at more hairs. He feels eyrie’s eyes on him through the black of the blind fold. “Resting is what you should be doing.”

“And yet I am still asked after.”

“Tis nothing the Sharlayan’s cannot handle; rebuffing the requests of other countries is something they are quite capable of handling.” G’raha reminds them, cupping their face and tilting it back for them to look up at him.

“They will ask, but you needn’t answer.”

“What if I wish to ignore their requests for the rest of forever?” Eyrie asks, their tone stuck between playful and genuine.

“If you desire that.” He speaks, pausing for a beat. “I will have to make a selfish request, if you will indulge me.”

“Yes.”

They interrupt quickly. “Before you say it, yes. Your request is far removed from that of a city state leader, Raha. And I have not forgotten what I promised you.”

He fixes them with a serious look, searching their face even feeling their own eyes searching his face. The scratch of a few days of stubble under his fingers, the barely there inquisitive turn of their lips and a question isn’t far behind.

“Are you alright?” They ask gently.

I’m in full wip juggling mode at the moment flipping between old and new stuff in between viddy game distractions and too much life stuff, but here’s what’s been on rotation over the weekend:

- starfield Lila is occupying a lot of my brain right now, I’m having so much fun with her and my brain is whirring with flystep au thoughts. I’ve got another little starfield piece that just needs colouring so I’ll save that one until posting

- And I’m tidying up this matching set of pose practice sketches ready to get lines on them. Got a little training sketch too but I’m just starting to colour so I’ll leave that one until actual posting too

1. are you named after anyone?

Yeah I share a first name with my mother and grandmother, and I actually went by my middle name growing up. I would like to legally change my name but that's like a whole stressful thing so I just live with it.

2. when was the last time you cried?

Yesterday. I cry almost everyday if I'm being honest

3. do you have kids?

No. 

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

yeah

5. what sports do you play/have you played?

I don't do any sports now, but growing up I played softball badly and soccer passionately. I also used to ski

6. what’s the first thing you notice about other people?

now days whether or not they are wearing a mask and how close they are standing to me

8. scary movies or happy endings?

happy endings. I'm not a big horror fan

9. any special talents?

not really, I'm good at calming down angry customers and often can get them to apologize to me so I guess that counts for something

10. where were you born?

the middle of fucking nowhere in the california foothills

11. what are your hobbies?

reading, writing, thinking about characters, been trying to learn how to draw but I've plateaued and lost a bit of motivation with that but would like to get back to it. In theory I also do cross-stich but it's been a while

12. do you have any pets?

yes, my cat is my reason for living

13. how tall are you?

5′7 ish (170cm)

14. favourite subject in school?

probably history. I also enjoyed english. One of my favorite classes in high school was a combination english and history class where we would read books to give more context to the historical period we were learning about and it was really fun

15. dream job?

ugh I mean I always want to say writer but like I have such a hard time writing and the thought of trying to monetize my hobbies makes me break out in hives.
