back when i was first tentatively transing my gender i thrifted a bunch of button-front shirts, chinos, etc, to try for a particular vision of dapperqueer; and like, they're still in my closet, they still fit, but i don't really feel especially authentically ~myself~ in them?

like, idk, i do vaguely feel as though i should maybe try to come up with some slightly less informal pants i could stand—literally currently i have, like, a bunch of woven cotton drawstring hippie pants in various colors (not the most gender-affirming despite nominally being Men's Pants but i do love them) and a couple pairs of very voluminous cargo pants (great but extremely casual), and then various ~harder~ pants i keep trying to wear and then realizing i hate for various reasons—but the thing is, there really is no relief like the relief of stripping off some very forced attempt at a Young Man By Everlane outfit, to replace it with grungy athleisure…
