Even though I’m excited for Icewing and it was well deserved, I will continue to grumble that Dappletuft should have lived long enough to become the new Riverclan leader. We need young blood around here Erins!

Once again I will remind that even as an apprentice, he wanted Skyclan to stay by the lake and as a warrior, joined the Rebellion against Ashfur. He was just a bit too eager to get rid of the imposter so I swear to Starclan he better be one of the ones to give Icestar a life! I would want it to be along the lines of “honor” or “virtue”; perhaps “foresight for the good of first Riverclan then all the clans”.

Wait but what if Curlfeather's mate was Dappletuft

I know it would mess up the timeline probably. But just. Consider

Dappletuft being Curlfeather mate instead of Jayclaw makes a lot more sense to me. Dappletuft being Frostdawn father not only would have prevented future incest between her and Splashtail (and now between Graysky and Floatshimmer), but it would have given Curlfeather a much more solid reason to what she does in ASC and to her desdain for both Mistystar and Starclan. Their negligence and support of Ashfur actions is what would have permitted him to kill her mate.
