The thing about 'what would you tell your 13 year old self' is going around and I just want to tell my EIGHT year old self that she's a fucking badass bitch with goals I achieved for her.

We had a family friend who built computers, and he made us a PC using an operating system he wrote himself. It ran Windows 3.0 as a program you could double click and play solitaire on.

I remember telling myself I would marry a computer guy when I grew up so I never had to figure this shit out for myself.

And I did.

I should add, here, that I could have wanted to figure that shit out for myself, but what I wanted to do more than that was write a whole lot, have a daughter named Carolyn, and be as happy with my husband as my mom was with my dad. Did all that, too.

The one thing I wanted that I didn't get? A musician boyfriend/husband who sang and played with me. He doesn't enjoy singing and playing at the same time, but he made up for it by composing music for me instead.

I hope all of your dreams come true, friends. It is important for me to also say that I struggle with crippling depression and anxiety. Those things aren't dependent on your dreams coming true, so you should work on treating them and getting help so that your dreams, once achieved, don't feel hollow when you struggle to enjoy them. I go back and forth, but when I'm grateful, I'm really grateful.

CHARACTER SUMMARY:

The Grand Tour awakened his curiosity with the realm of Earth. He would spend several of his days surveying the different specimens of nature, and the differing scenery. Until he would ultimately end in Holloway, but his first steps into the woods weren’t marked with a glorious welcome.  In the year 1643 it wasn’t such a safe place for him to explore. Dash would learn this when he ultimately was faced with the Hollow Goal first hand.  

Trauma didn’t leave him with a sour taste in his month.  It did however, make him exceptionally paranoid once he was free and back into the familiarity of his woods. Settling his home in the Piskie Woods after his escape from the horror of Hollow Goal.  This would be the same year he would try to go back through the veil and find out he couldn’t.

Darsh felt a certain way about it, but he held it in and instead dove into his potion brewing. Patrons used to need to venture to his point of the woods to gain access to them. However, to protect himself he had started rumors about the area. He’s not hard to find, but it is hard to pull him away from what currently has his attention. 

Time itself moved on and imagine his surprise when he learned from the council that the veil had opened. Darsh kept an even face at the news, but in reality it hurt worse than Hollow Goal’s tortures. This time the taste in his mouth was bitter, and a grudge has started to fester.

The Cu-Sith became his newest obsession until its capture. He’s currently offering help   on the logistics and how the creature was able to get through. In his spare time, he runs a small apothecary deemed the “Alchemists Shadow”.

Friends ~ Close or just acquaintances, Darsh has been around for hundreds of years. He believes there's nothing he hasn't seen, but ...time will tell.

The Grand Tour (Other) ~ Someone he would have met when he was first able to cross into the realm in 1623. They could have been the reason Darsh ended up in Holloway in 1643. Are they best friends? Are they enemies? Are they exes?

The Grand Tour (Fae) The tour for him started in 1623. This other fae he would have either came through with, or met along the way. They would have definitely partook in shenanigans, but they were able to get back before the close in 1666. Leaving Darsh behind. They are likely not on good terms, or Darsh has spent the better part of 2023 avoiding them.

Fam went to an event last Sunday, Mr. Darsy tested positive for Covid Wednesday, after feeling a bit icky before bed. I had sent kids to school with masks just in case and warned the school nurse after testing him when he woke up late. 1 had a half day already, other 2 came home early not feeling well! Everyone's quarantined in bedrooms and the finished basement, and I'm on feeding everyone duty in the living room/kitchen middle floor.

By some miracle the kids already had today and tomorrow off, but they're understandably lonely and unhappy to be stuck in their respective spaces! I ordered some treats to make up for it for everyone.

I got all emotional in front of my oldest about wanting to make everything as easy as possible for my husband, who back in 2016 dropped nearly everything and worked half-time for 3 months when I had a catastrophic leg break (while the kids were 2, 4, and 7). I will be an old lady who cries when my kids say hi, I think! He's never been a big baby when he's sick, he keeps apologizing for the inconvenience and saying he really hopes I don't catch it (I caught it in late 2022 and was laid out, he's getting there).
