Reading: I'm a big feminist sci-fi girlie. I think about Octavia Butler every day these days. For non-fiction, the topics run the gamut. Any podcast that is history-based I consider to be 'reading' as well. I enjoy audio books because they enable me to do something else at the same time (I have a problem with feeling guilty while 'relaxing'). Recentlyish read books have been: Butter, Translation State, The Light Brigade.

Crocheting: A low-tech productive distraction! I'm not very good (I only know a few stitches) but I like the satisfaction of finishing a long-term project. I shared this with @platinumaspiration but I recently made this baby blanket for a friend:

Gardening: no secret that I garden!

Foraging: My goal is to be a little old lady who knows every leaf and branch in the woods! New things I've foraged this year include onion grass and plantains. I'll be visiting my regular mushroom spot after a haircut today to look for morels. I doubt I'll find any, but with all this rain I'll find some pheasant back mushrooms at least.

Food: This one is complicated for me, because I'd hesitate to say that I 'love' cooking, as I feel like that implies that I am good at it (I mess up all of the time) and that I want to do it everyday (we have frozen pizza at least once a week). But I like to eat, I like cooking, I like coming back to the same recipe over and over again to perfect it to my tastes, I like cooking with food I have grown or foraged, I like learning about the history behind a recipe, I like learning about the science behind why things work the way they do in food...so you know, it's safe to say it's an interest of mine! I also worked in restaurants/hospitality for about 10 years, so that's an influence. My undergraduate degree thesis had to do with urban food deserts, so food access has been an interest of mine as well.

Bicycle Maintenance: I did mention this forever ago, but I am an okay bicycle mechanic. Some of the more advanced mech skills could use a brush up for sure, but anything to do with rim brakes, I've got you. I have been teaching a bike maintenance class though my city's public school rec program for a few years now. I really do like teaching (though I would never ever do it full time, you all are saints).

Tabletop RPG's: This one is new for me! I'm doing a DnD run and a Cyberpunk Red run with friends simultaneously. DnD has me playing a barbarian who multi-classed as a druid. I call her my 'druid berserker'. She follows the path of the Hollow Bloom (DM has us in the Underdark). My Cyberpunk Red character is a medtech with a dartgun eye! She's a saccharine 'mom' figure who seems sweet, but grew up in a doomsday cult and she'll stop at nothing to get back there and take over. These are great fun to do with pals! Scratches my itch to Be A Ham™ as well.

Born in the middle of nowhere, Utah, growing up seemingly chronically understimulated and jumpy. Was known to bring various small animals, fine jewelry and garbage home when let out of the closet her parents kept her in to prevent her from taking apart all of their furniture and collecting all of the screws. Has never paid for anything in her entire life. Has never blinked, either. Mid-early 20s.

MECHANICS

- Scaling ; can climb up and down buildings, into crawlspaces and other places other classes wouldn't be able to.

- Draining ; can rapidly "steal" ammo/ ubercharge/ other if within melee distance of a target.

-Holding; can hold/keep ammo and ubercharge for teammates, at expense of keeping them until they come to get it, through teammate's deaths

WEAPONS / ITEMS

MELEE : Oversized Scissors - shaves off about 65 at stock, slower-than-average speed.

DARTGUN / BLOWGUN: mid-long range weapon, does roughly 20 damage per dart, blowgun provides 20 damage and a far lower shooting speed, with the boost of a speed penalty for the target and a longer range.

The Blake Cinematic Universe

I decided that I need a guide to the BCU that I can refer people to when I mention the various Blakes and no one knows what I'm talking about.

Blake Guns

Blake "Smoothbore" Whitaker, the protagonist of Supposed To Be, by Kaiya: a Worm fanfic set in Baltimore, co-starring the one and only Kenzie "Optics" Martin. Blake is a guns tinker who was kidnapped by a gang, then rescued and put in the Baltimore Wards.

Blake Dartguns

An alternate version of Blake Guns from an AU of Supposed To Be in which she is rescued by Haven, rather than the Protectorate. She joins Haven, goes by Cherub, and ends up in Jackson, Mississippi instead of Baltimore. In this AU, in the wake of the various disasters in Brockton Bay, Lily also transfers to Jackson, rather than quitting the Wards, where she meets Blake.

Blake Magnets

Blake Whitaker, the character Kaiya plays in Lawbreakers, a Dresden Files RPG game. It stars: Blake, a warlock and breaker of the First Law; Verity, a necromancer and breaker of the Fifth Law (maybe? She might technically have only flirted with breaking it); Asella, the chosen one [citation needed] and breaker of the Seventh Law; and Crane, a vampire, therapist, and token normal one in the group (except when she isn't).

Blake's specialty is Earth magic, and electromagnetism in particular, hence her moniker.

Blake Comma Heather

Heather Blake, the character Kaiya plays in a different DFRPG game, Providence, starring Heather (a Knight of the Cross) and Samantha (a minister and wizard).

Helen Blake, Heather's [REDACTED] who gets [REDACTED] by [REDACTED] to fix [REDACTED] after Sam's [REDACTED] who [REDACTED] Among Us [REDACTED] gets [REDACTED] and needs to be [REDACTED].
