@musicalpriestess (aka datentm) asked: today was a special day to the heir prince of briar valley, as it was the day that his beloved was born into the world and graced his long life with excitement and new experiences. even though cora would be most opposed to any attention directed towards her, malleus would be remiss if he didn’t have a celebration of her birth on this day. even if he couldn’t have a grand party in her honor, she compromised with a small group of close friends of theirs. nevertheless, malleus would pull cora aside to present her the gift he had for her. ‘ happy birthday, cora, my dear. i know you don’t usually have something as this but i thought it fitting, nonetheless. ’ he handed her a small, blue velvet case that hidden inside was an intricately shaped multicolored gem that hailed from his homeland upon a beautiful silver ring. ‘ you may wear it upon your finger, as a necklace, or however you wish. but this gemstone is much like you, a multifaceted person of wonderful colors. ’

most wouldn't go too far for cora, someone who was the type to sneer at you just for looking at her. even for her birthday, there were fewer students who approached her simply to congratulate her just because it was mandatory...and those students were from her own dorm. some of them gave her gifts, sure, but they weren't too much - not that she cared much, either...some, however, would be more excited for this day than she was, ever. one of them was malleus, himself. it was odd to have the prince of briar valley try his damnedest to throw a celebration for cora, despite her obvious reluctance, but hey...if she managed to come back from the dead, then anything is possible.

in the end, cora went along with a small party at ramshackle, with those closest to them in attendance ( it was mostly malleus' usual group, sans for silver and jamil who were her friends, oddly enough ). while everyone had a merry old time with each other, she was pulled from prying ears and eyes by malleus to be given a gift of his own. color her curious, this time around, as she takes the case with small hint of wariness. ❛ hahhh...this is gonna be something way over the top, i just know it. ❜ it just fit his nature, after all.

once opening it, cora is rendered silent when gazing upon the unfamiliar gem, it's many colors glazing upon her eyes and simple design of the silver ring clearly surprising her. well, damn, so much about her "over the top" comment, she thought to herself before looking back at malleus with a small scoff at his following comment. ❛ you sure got an interesting take on "wonderful colors", horn boy...what's next, i'm some kinda rare gem, too? yeah, right... ❜ she chuckles mid sentence, small smile creeping along her lips. if you looked closely, you'd see small hints of pink dusting her cheeks, as well. ❛ well, whatever, i'll hold onto it, maybe put it on my computer desk...dunno if i'll ever wear it, jewelry's kinda not my thing, but...i guess it looks beautiful. ❜ pausing for one moment, cora looks back down at the ring...this time, her expressing seeming only a tad gentler - the look only someone who ever gave a damn for her would ever see. ❛ ...heh... thanks, malleus...~ ❜

in an instant, malleus grinned widely. now, wasn't this an interesting choice of words? the renowned weiss schnee, adorned with snow-like white yet wielding fierce skills no normal human could ever handle, speaking with honestly one hadn't seen before in any foolish being. the only person he could think of speaking to him this informally would be lilia, but such was to be expected. others, however, usually addressed him in highest regard ... even those back at the castle. you could imagine his amusement rising even further when she finished her sentence, endowed with the gentlest smile. whoever thought of speaking in such a way to the soon-to-be king of briar valley...?

     the dorm head stands there,  sheltered by the porch above his head,  silently tapping his foot as seconds turned into minutes.   honestly,  they agreed on a time to meet,  the least the other could do was actually show up on time.   yes,  real life and other activities got in the way sometimes,  riddle knew that.   but he also specifically remembered them double checking their schedules beforehand,  ace shouldn’t have anything else to do currently   ...

     finally,  the familiar voice sounds from around the corner,  head of red locks turning to face the other approaching male.  “ ah,  there you are.   i was wondering whether or not you would actually show up, ”   he says with a sigh,  annoyance very evident within his tone.

     it takes a moment for ace’s final words to sink in,  but when they do,  grey blue hues widen momentarily before shooting the other a glare,  singular eyebrow twitching atop his head.   oh,  so that’s how it was going to be ?

     “ you want to run that by me again ?   ... ”

            DRESSED, MAKE-UP, HAIR DONE, BREAKFAST MADE -- all before the clock would hit seven-thirty, the home's other residence however took a bit of... coaxing to wake up for the day, a certain someone often needing a little more than your average wake-up call. to get up for work. at least one was front and center eating breakfast, although not all too happy about it like any other teenager when it comes to getting ready for school.

              ❝ –   you'll have to defend yourself this evening, i've got GRAVEYARD SHIFT this evening.  ❞  she informs, turning around placing a cup of tea before him, her voice causes him to take his cheek out of his palm to attention as though she just interrupted a possible doze. CEREZA then pauses a moment before she steps around the table, her going into his hair brushing his unruly bangs from his eyes. ❝ –  i thought i told you to brush your hair. ❞  in response he sheepishly diverts his hues as he sips his drink, causing the corner of her mouth to be pulled into a humoured smile and she leans down kissing his forehead, ensuring her freshly applied lipstick left a mark, guaranteeing he would have to go check himself in the mirror before he left.

     almost,  almost,  come on it was right there in front of him!   maybe it wasn’t the best idea to first of all,  stand on top of a chair,  and two,  to then horrendously try to balance on your toes.   he was just a few millimetres away,  it was almost as if it was teasing him!   and sure enough,  it wasn’t long before that creaking chair gave out,  promptly sending kalim to the floor with a thud!

a hand instantly reached for his behind,  rubbing at the place of which he had landed with a hiss escaping his lips.   but whom he hadn’t expected to see was jamil,  who seemed to carry that ‘what the hell’ look upon his features   ...

“ah,  jamil.   s - sorry,  i didn’t mean to wake you,”   came sheepish look upon his face,  hand moving from his back to rub behind his neck,  very clearly embarrassed by what happened moments prior.   “see,  i was having trouble sleeping myself so i thought maybe a little snack might help   ...   I just couldn’t reach it.”

had it been any other student, cora wouldn't have believed it and shooed off the poor thing without hesitation. who the hell would rely on anyone, is what she'd say. silver, however, wasn't like any other student - besides being one of the weirdest she's met since coming to this goddamned soil ( from his crazy stories she and jamil forcibly listened to, unexpected moments of raw, brute strength to those "sleeping spells", as he called them ), cora was quickly able to see that the sleepy guardian of diasomnia was more than a pretty, stoic face. appearances never mattered to the ever so jaded and wary vice of ignihyde, but silver's soul was incorruptible... almost as pure as those "bishounen" looks of his. seriously...what was this guy's deal?

either way, the green haired looked over at the taller knight in training, arms tightly crossed and brow quirked. ❛ even if i didn't know, you wouldn't shut the hell up until i finally gave in. ❜ which was annoying, of it's own - it's almost like these innocent types of men liked to get berated and looked down on! either way, cora knew silver meant every word, nor was he the type to crack any type of joke let alone a deceitful one, hence why she easily believed him. sighing, cora nudged silver's broad shoulder. ❛ yeah, yeah, i know you'll be there for me, bishounen boy...ugh, how do you not get tired from all this flowery language? i'll get hit by those sleepy spells if you keep talking like that! ❜ and yet, she wouldn't want him to change for anything...much like she was forced to since childhood.
