Updated Fancafe Level-up Guide (2022.02.07 Version)

Please note that the guidelines are subject to change at any time without warning. Check the requirements to make sure they match the contents of this post before trying to upgrade! The requirements have been updated as of February 7th, 2022.

It can often take several tries to get accepted and level up in the fancafe, and KQ usually changes their questions once a year or so but currently the questions can be found in the channel labelled “등엽신청” and the guidelines for application are:

1. Real Name / Fancafe Nickname / email (can be daum/kakao/google) / DOB (YYMMDD) / gender / Country of residence Tip: for fancafe nicknames, you must follow the guidelines in the fancafe otherwise you will not be accepted and your application will be returned without notice! You cannot use ATEEZ member names, KQ names, staff names, ATEEZ family member names, etc., you cannot use special characters/numbers in your nickname, no names of other groups/idols/companies. I’ve seen some people say that you can use numbers but from personal experience my application was denied until I took the numbers out of my nickname!

2. List ATEEZ members (in Korean or English) in age order with their full name (ie. Park Seonghwa, Kim Hongjoong, etc.)

*NEW* 3. Write down the date ATEEZ won 1st place on music shows along with the song they won with in 2021 only. (Hint: there should be two: Song Title + YYMMDD)

*NEW* 4. Please write the official Instagram hashtag in the order of ATEEZ Member ‘Seonghwa, Yunho, Mingi, Jongho’. (Hint: [#인星화그램], [#Yunhois3gram], [#fix_onstagram], [#쫑스타그램] - I recommend you keep the tags as they are written on the members’ posts to prevent being returned)

Submit your application in the Level-up channel only (등엽신청). It can take a while to hear back on whether you’ve been promoted or not, but I would also keep an eye on the return channel (등업리턴) and search for your username in case you’ve been returned! If your app has been returned and you aren’t sure why/you’ve answered all the questions correctly, the issue might be in your username! They typically will not tell you why your application has been denied.

Once you are accepted, there will be many channels that open up to you, however there are also some channels that are only open to members who have bought a membership, and currently the third period membership is open and can be bought through YES24 until February 21st at 11:59 PM KST. You can access the notice here, but please note you can only resubscribe if you had previously bought the second period membership.

Character Limit

3-8 Hangul characters

6-10 English characters

When combining Korean and English: ENG characters=1byte, KOR characters=2bytes, and you must have 6-10 bytes

You may only use simple Hangul or English (or a combination)

No standalone consonants (ex: ㅋㅋ or ㅎㅎ) or “alien” language (ex. 얅얋)

No nonsense English or initials (ex. Sjfdkndfj)

No using languages other than Korean or English (ex. Japanese, Chinese, French, etc.)

When combining Korean and English, you must be able to read it (ex. love사랑 is fine, but a빅스a is not)

How does fancafe work exactly? I've always heard about it but never actually joined. I thought it was a membership thing

The fancafe is an online network where ATINYs and ATEEZ both can post and share things! I don’t know much since I’m not a part of it myself, but according to a twt guide thread (refer to this), you have to sign up for it after making a Daum account. There’s also quite a few rules & regulations that need to be followed in order to stay there, and there’s ways for you to level up (?) as well.

I don’t know how similar or different it is from a membership since my own knowledge of it is limited!

[TUTORIAL] How to level up on Wonho’s Official Fancafe (Desktop/App)

Go to Wonho’s official cafe or search for his cafe username on the app.

Go to the TALK board and look for:

등업신청 [월,수,금] / Level up [Mon, Wed, Fri]

등업신청 [화,목,토] / Level up [Tue, Thu, Sat]

View on desktop.

View on app: Click on the Write option.

Write down the following and replace with your info accordingly:

1. Daum ID or E-mail / Name / Birthday (YYYYMMDD).

2. Wonho's birthday (YYYYMMDD).

3. Please write down a supportive message for Wonho with more than 200 characters without pressing the Enter key (one paragraph only).

On desktop, you can click the LOCK button under the text box (which is, by default, open) in order to make your post secret. On the app, access the post settings, at the bottom, and make your post secret as well.

Submit your post when it’s properly locked and now you only have to wait for a notification from the staff!

How to level up in SF9′s official daum fancafe [200707 ver.]

This is a fancafe tutorial for the new rules to level up in SF9′s daum fancafe! Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.

This is only the level up process, if you didn’t sign up in fancafe yet, you can follow the first steps of this tutorial.

Step 1

After opening sf9′s official daum cafe and making sure you’re logged in, scroll down to the bottom of the page to find the ‘level up’ section. Click on '등업신청’.

Step 2

Here you should start filling out the questions you’re required to answer for level up. First click on the blue lock to make your post private, if you don’t do this staff will not level you up. Read the description and answer in the format given. If you click on '등록’ your level up form will be posted.

❗: If you’re applying on desktop, you’ll find that you can’t click on the link to actually find the fancafe questions. You can find them here. If you're unsure of the answers to some of the questions, you can double-check with mine in the picture below.

Attach a proof picture of you streaming SF9 - ‘Summer Breeze’. - Take captures of when you start the streaming and 5-10 seconds before it ends; make sure to show the timestamps. - Make sure to write your fancafe nickname on the capture image. - Make sure to ‘Like (Heart)’ the song. - The only music sites that will be counted are Melon, Genie, Bugs, Soribada, FLO and VIBE, Spotify and Apple Music.

After posting your level up form you should wait around a week before FNC staff levels you up, this could take some time (however you can also be levelled up within a few days). Your application will be moved to ‘등업완료. If you haven’t answered all of the questions correctly, or your nickname is in violations of the fancafe rules, your application will be moved to ‘등업리턴’. You’ll have to keep re-applying until you enter successfully.

before starting, make sure your settings for your profile look like this:

select either the M/W/F or T/TH level up from the menu:

it’s friday in korea right now, so if you want a chance to be leveled up immediately select the first. these boards indicate when fancafe staff members will go through and level up members!

now, the questions:

1. daum ID or email you use to join fancafe / your name / birthday

2. write wonho’s birthday

3. write a supportive message to wonho more than 200 characters without enter

the rules don’t indicate specific language (usually it will specify only korean) so it’s safe to assume you can use english and that’s what a lot of mbb are doing until we find out otherwise. both boards have the same questions, so you can post in either board! reply to the board as a COMMENT and make sure to SET YOUR POST AS PRIVATE! and don’t post in both boards, only one or the other until you receive a notif you’re leveled up or it’s been returned.

if you have questions you can ask since this was a really quick guide. there’s no way in such a short time to make a better guide or get everything translated.

do you know how to level up on the cix daum fancafe? i saw that theres a requirement for streaming on korean music sites but..... those all require id verification.......

As far as I'm concerned, the only way to level up (FIX 2기) is to pay for the membership.

it’s much more accessible than daums fancafe. and far as i remember there’s no levels to being on weverse like fancafe there’s just paying for premium stuff and that’s it. the fancafe had so many stupid levels and you’d have to answer questions correctly to level up, but it did have good content filtering and penalizing. and level of membership could also be bought and traded (higher levels also got access to tickets earlier and cheaper that shit was super unfair)

as for universe content, there are two main places where ateez post content like selfies and messages! the first is on ateez’s fns page in the universe app, which you do not need private message tickets to access! you can access this fns page by tapping ateez’s emblem on the universe homescreen then going to ‘fns’ on the bottom bar once ateez’s page has opened! it’s much like an instagram feed where you can like and comment on their posts! the other place they post selfies is through private messages, which you will need to pay a monthly fee to access. in the private messages, it operates like bubble or lysn where the idols can see everyone’s messages at the same time, but you can only see your own messages and the idol’s messages sent to you!

even just a couple of years ago, hyeju would have never imagined herself to continue down a path in the entertainment industry once lipstick disbanded. around the time of goeun’s departure was when she was the most struck with how fickle the idol life can be, and she imagined that she could most likely live with the money she had saved up from her life as a lipstick member. realistically, that would have been completely possible. the perks she gets for being part of what was once considered the nation’s girl group. 

now, however, she’s feeling a little more confident than she used to, and she thinks she’d miss the stage if she were to leave it forever. it was around the time of blue moon’s release and the unexpected success of that plus i just wanna dance that gave her hope and a newfound passion for performing. hyeju found that since she spent so many years not caring about her career and simply doing whatever she was told to do, she has so much to explore about herself as an entertainer and artist. so she’s hoping that she can stay an idol for a little longer. while she’s not certain how many years lipstick still has under its belt, she would like to continue a solo career if’s possible. afterwards, when everybody has lost their interest in her, and she officially becomes a has-been idol, she’ll probably go into choreographing or teaching dance to students.

hyeju has very few social networking accounts. she has an instagram, a twitter and an account on lipstick’s daum fancafe. she rarely uses any of them because she finds social networking sites a bore, and she could never fully understand the appeal of them. out of the three, however, she probably uses instagram the most only because it’s the only one she knows how to use. it’s pretty simply: you pick a photo, caption it, upload it and voila. it’s simple enough for her, but she doesn’t do anything else on it. her fans were upset at first because hyeju only posts for important events such as music show wins, comebacks or award show wins. she tries her best to upload something for her birthday, but there’s times when she even forgets that. in the past couple of months, she’s gotten a little better at updating her instagram but because her former activity was so bad, her current efforts are the bare minimum as well. 

if someone were to ask her if she remembers her twitter password, she would probably answer that she doesn’t, and that’s partially true. the last tweet or retweet is probably from 2016 during lipstick’s party and lion heart promotions. her fans have given up trying to get her to use it again.

the fancafe itself has become inactive with fans moving onto other platforms, but hyeju still uses it when she wants to leave longer letters or things she finds inappropriate to upload onto instagram. instagram is for pictures and very short captions while she’ll use the fancafe to write longer posts. however, even her long posts aren’t really that long. she’s truly a female of few words, but it’s just that she has a hard time expressing her gratitude through words.

one of the few things that hyeju is truly confident in is her stage presence and performance ability. though she isn’t lipstick’s main dancer, she believes that she has a different dancing style from minhee which helps her stand out even as a lead dancer though she will never argue when people point out that their youngest member is the strongest member. that’s simply a fact especially on technical levels.

when it comes to her dancing abilities, hyeju’s style would most likely be described as being powerful but fluid. she has good control especially over her torso which helps her in dances that require lots of waves and connecting. her weakest is probably popping or anything that requires full on power only. it’s also probably a stamina problem more than anything that she can’t seem to fully execute dances that are powerful throughout.

hyeju has grown more interested in performance aspects recently and have started to seek out dance teachers who could help. she wants to begin to choreograph her own dances, and while she’s done a few short things here and there, she’s definitely lacking to truly call herself a choreographer. she came to realize that there’s a clear difference between being a good dancer and being a good choreographer, and she would like to be able to fit into the latter category as much as she fits into the former.

Fancafe is free to use! You just have to level up through their application/quiz to see more messages on their platform. Before weverse, the membership was sort of a way to skip the application. I’m not sure how often or if they are even doing/processing the apps nowadays. As for why not make it international, I’d ask Daum (own by Kakao- similar to Naver) who runs the fancafe platform; I don’t think Big Hit would have a say in that; compared to Naver, Daum does seem less foreign friendly though

fancafe is international. i am iarmy and i can view it and the members posts. it just that it's all in korean so those armys that are only there to be petty/antis dont usualy have enough attention span to level up. and fancafe staff (bighit staff) had rules and would ban people who violated those rules. its more on the fans being respectful and following rules. i have 0 faith in a majority international fancafe to behave the same way

I’m sure it would take translation staff and a lot of work but I do think it would be worth it for them to make an international or at least English version, or maybe change platforms?

ok so i'm so confused about the fancafe. this is my second time buying mbb fanclub membership and i've had the fancafe acc for over a year now. but i was never upgraded, and i don't think i ever will, even though i followed the instructions and wrote my daum id to the application. i can't read any posts and i'm not even sure if i can write them either (it says i need to choose the board and i have no idea which to choose). do i have to... like, be active in the fancafe to be noticed somehow?

wait they didn't level you up?? I'm not sure if they have opened the appeal board yet since I don't use fc anymore but you don't have to be active to be able to use fc if you bought the membership. the level up should have happened

how to sign up and level up in sf9′s official daum fancafe [200501 ver.]

this is a fancafe tutorial for the new rules to enter and level up in sf9′s daum fancafe! please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.

step 1

open up sf9′s offical daum fancafe and make sure you’re logged in on your daum account. click on ‘카페 가입하기’ which you can find beneath their description box to sign up for the fancafe.

step 2

you’ll be asked to do fill out an entrance quiz to register as a member. enter sf9′s debut date in (YYMMDD) format and click 확인 to continue. 

step 3 you will be redirected to the following page. check the box at the beginning to accept the terms of agreement. next you will need to fill in your fancafe nickname, please read the rules below and pick your nickname according to them. check both boxes and answer the security text. after you’ve done that click '가입’ to finish. you should now be signed up for sf9′s fancafe.

- up to 8 korean characters or 10 english letters

- you can mix korean characters, english letters and numbers (in that case, you can have up to a max of 10 characters)

- you can’t use chinese characters, emoticons, spaces, gaps, foreign languages, profanity, suggestive phrases, special characters or consonants and vowels seperately

- you can’t use any phrases that relate to sf9, 에스에프나인 (sf9), the members’ names, etc. as a standalone user (you are allowed to use cominations like ‘ilovesf9′ or ‘zuhobbueeng’)

10. attach a proof picture of you streaming sf9 - ‘Good Guy’. - take captures of when you start the streaming and 5-10 seconds before it ends; make sure to show the timestamps. - make sure to write your fancafe nickname on the capture image. - make sure to ‘Like (Heart)’ the song. - the only music sites that will be counted are Melon, Genie, Bugs, Soribada, FLO and VIBE however fnc replied that international fans Spotify and Apple Music can also be used as streaming proof.

after posting your level up form you should wait around a week before fnc staff levels you up, this could take some time (however you can also be levelled up within a few days). 

step 6 (download daum cafe on mobile for the next step)

it’s important to have your settings on your daum cafe be accessible to managers only. open sf9′s fancafe on mobile and click on the three lines on top of the page.

a sidebar for the fancafe navigation should show up and below on the page you should see your nickname which will direct you to your profile and on the side a shortcut for your personal settings. click the gear to go to your settings.

make sure all your settings look like this, otherwise you will NOT be levelled up on fancafe. in step 3 you already put your message options to on, however the privacy options won’t automatically be put on ‘managers’.
