      life is normal.

exhausting only because he’s placed himself in such a position on purpose, juggling more jobs than he should, but it’s normal ----- and more than that, it’s something close to being enjoyable.

while gide may have no friends outside of a nurse who has an odd hobby in helping those who can’t afford it or work in underground organizations and an oversized dog in his apartment, he could think of worse things. this life he’s grown to life is somewhat pleasant, and he’s never without something to do. he’d call himself lucky -- but he knows he’s not. god is not kind to him, always putting him through difficult things just when he thinks things are okay.

quite like when he’s making his merry way up the rusted steps that lead to his apartment, only to freeze when there’s a suited man there bearing a familiar face.

how awful.

“hib --”  it’s murmured under his breath, thank god, and then he starts over :  “... ango.”

this man was nothing short of foolish if he was purposefully seeking her out. kouyou, while she was certainly one of the more quiet executives, still heard every scrabble and whisper that snaked through the underworld. this man’s reactions to her beloved kyouka had come in louder than much else.

kyouka would admit she was mildly nervous. kunikida had announced a government agent was coming to speak with her and while atsushi had frantically assured her nothing was going to happen, it still brought forth that displeasing sensation of being frightened. if she were to be charged with all the murders that she had committed, then that was just how it would be.

blue eyes slowly lifted as the door opened, swiftly taking in the appearance of the agent. there was nothing particularly frightening about him. ` ... Hello. `

oh look -- ! a badly thrown together graphic! it must eventually be time for chase && dazai to make a bias list! this is really long overdue. i promised, in fact, that i’d make it when i reached fifty followers, and clearly we are above that point. over the few months i’ve been here && actively writing dazai, i can say this is the most comfortable i have ever been in a fandom, && that i was pleasantly surprised with the reception of the blog. this is my first blog in a very long time && so naturally i was nervous to make it. i am happy people seem to like this little sadist fluffball, though! he’s been a lot of fun to write so far && i’m looking forward to lots of future interactions, as well. but for now, i would like to give special attention to a few people who have made my experience so pleasant, and a few people i stalk / love.

naturally, please don’t be offended if you aren’t on this list. this is just a small compilation of names, i promise i love && appreciate everybody who’s stuck around with us this far - mutuals or not.

@silverweretiger / all your other blogs - spark, you are honestly one of my closest friends on here && i don’t know how i can show you i appreciate you. you’ve been there to scream with, to chat with and to talk to since the very beginning when dazai was a terribly underdeveloped muse, && i’m so, so grateful you stuck around. thank you for being an all around amazing human being. even if you send me angst fanart a lot of the time. i do hope i will still be friends with you for a long time, though!

@labem / all your other blogs - ami! i’ve known you for a short while now but it feels like longer? you’re one of my closest friends && i’m super lucky to have been able to interact with you as much as we have! dazai’s utterly enamoured with your chuuya && i’m so unbelievably grateful that i have a friend like you! the days would be a lot less fun without yelling scenarios && what ifs at each other, && i really feel like dazai and i have bonded with you and chuuya, even if i am your sadistic little brother. i hope we can be friends for a long time! you’re stuck with dazai and i now. sorry i don’t make the rules.

@wastedbandage - hazel, our muses have been through a lot together, && it all stemmed from an accident. even though we’ve laid old plots to rest, i still feel a lot of loyalty towards you and your dazai, and i’m lucky to have been able to write such detailed things with you! i’m excited to re-develop our muses together && see where they end up this time!

@hisashiburii / all your other blogs - we haven’t spoken a lot, but the times we have made me really happy! your writing is fantastic, && i’m lucky to have been able to write with you so far. it’s quite amusing, i never even thought about shipping dazai and kurone, but somehow we ended up there!

      a week has passed since andré gide has had quite the horrible and awkward reunion with sakaguchi ango, a man who betrayed him when he was willing to place his trust in him. a week has passed since he demanded the gun ango once owned to show he was a member of an organization andré took pride in.

4 days have passed since akutagawa ryuunosuke appeared at his home to return it instead as a show of loyalty for his newfound mentor, and gide cannot be happier over having the item returned to him after all these years. 

5 days have passed since ango came drunk to his apartment apologizing for not having something gide was already given, but he said nothing because the brunet would’ve been too under the influence to remember.

all of that has merely led up to this saturday morning as gide makes his way home in the afternoon after taking basile for a walk and buying a few things for his humble apartment, staring at the suited man that leans against the railing of the stairs leading up to his apartment. he isn’t surprised this time, for he knows ango is a very time oriented man. basile sits on his hind legs when they come to a stop, his master resting one hand on his hip.

“long time no see.”  he greets.  “no alcohol today i hope?”
